i would live as a nightmare to complete the world 100% again…
i’m enjoying the new event, i really am, and it is not because i farm it. i just try my best to complete it and at the end even if it fails i have bags full.
i like the champion loot and i’m sorry greedy people can’t do anything else but farm in this world. for whatever reason they have.

i think this is what arenanet is trying to do, have fun/challenging/easy content with reward and try to satisfy people… although people can’t just stop themselves, they never have enough…
everybody was farming deadeye is it arenanet fault? although for the single time i did it it was nice for me to be rewarded that way…
how can we have nice things if people can never have enough? an activity should stop once it become boring, but when it comes to farm boring is not enough to stop for some reason… everybody complains about grindy games and korean farming games and than they turn their experience into just that… i really don’t get it

talking about resses i don’t ress dead people while they are like 2 meters from a wp, because i cannot stop to think they are to cheap to pay a wp and run back themselves…
especially if the ressing is dangerous.
i’ll always revive people downed nearby (there is a huge difference between the 2 situations). and in wvwvw if i can i try to revive even dead people because is less strategic and even less useful to make them run back from the very edge of a map (unless they are dead under arrow cart fire, in that case it’s just stupid to try).

i can swear is less than 10k and i can get loot even if i get bronze medal… and when i’m in the open world i rarely party especially with strangers…
i don’t think the damage done by the party qualifies better than single player damage to tag a mob.
i’m not sure of this but would be very strange

They nerfed plinx and pen/shelt. Up until then, folks went there to farm in the open world, and while it wasn’t as efficient as dungeon-running, was good enough.

but i think even if those events were full farming as they used to be… farmers would still flock to the new event because is inevitably better rewarding and long lasting…
and the bad apples would still stall or wouldn’t care less to succed at the event.

i think the real problem is nobody cares if their freedom to play (farming or not) hurt the freedom to play of other players… it’s basic civic sense that nobody has.

the problem are the players though… there are players happy with the reward system and actually doing the event, not stalling it for a deluxe box…

i think it’s not fair we ask arenanet to interfere, it’s us in the first place that have to solve this issue.
i’m really starting to hate people these days, they only care about themselves and their loot. they have no sense of community… they only care about money… and i could understand this in the real world… but with digital gold?

let me get this straight.

the endless mobs in all the maps, and world bosses spawning every few hours everyday, doing nothing but die for us… how they are different from the invasions and scarlet?
the former, nobody complains about lack of motive and endless supply of mobs… the latter according to this forum, not only they need a motive, not only they need to threaten cities (and divinity’s reach was threatened btw), not only they need to be limited in number, they also need feelings and be sensitive enough to stop the invasion because they re dieing for no reason…

guys… i think you are asking too much! there is a story for every single thing happening in the world, they are tied to either lore or living story or both, but it is still a game, we still need endless supply of mobs to kill, the story, the motive whatever comes after, i know i complained about some lack of story too, but if i must be honest this is a game and the most important thing is i have to enjoy the game play, when i want to enjoy a story i watch a movie or read a book. the story in the videogame is important of course but it is expected to suspend your disbelief sometimes.

about scarlet motives, i guess we will discover in time, like we discovered in time everything else related to story…

p.s. i really wish i could write all of this in italian because i feel idiot writing in english and my thoughts cannot be expressed properly

If you are on a map and are doing the event, don’t waypoint around to get to the different fights.

Run or wait (because the events will respawn in the same spots).

For some reason – for me -, waypointing seems to be resetting something in the background and is killing credit for things. I did several events yesterday but only got cred on the one where I didn’t port around.

Until we get something official, give this a try and see if it makes a difference. It can’t hurt.

my guess is that they wanted us as tyrians to believe there was a speech to attend to, but it was spoiled by scarlet trying to kidnapping the queen, so no speech of course and the true event name was revealed…

i liked her and both instances, her voice is amazing, the actress was pure awesomeness!

anise and logan are always like that, even in the human personal story… the fact is anise is a smart, cunning, plotting secret agent that is in to sacrifice some life for the greater good and the queen…
while logan is just like a guardian in love with the queen… he has no better judgement when it comes to her, and he is simple minded… or at least it lacks the skills t be involved in anise scheming… would you trust logan with the secret that the queen was a clone? he couldn’t be believable… and i think this is the reason why scarlet believed the queen was true. if scarlet is so prodigy she is also observant.
also rytlok and zojja figured it out earlier that the queen was a clone… logan was to busy to show off and be fuzzy down there thinking about her^^

i always ress people that die at the champions in the gauntlet, and if i’m the only one there first i ress than i queue.
but if truth be told never occurred to me that these bosses cold be farmed while down below there is a more suitable farming pie

i still consider this update better than what happened from secret of southsun so far. but not involving as flame and frost.
and it was not for the dungeon, it was because of the story actually.
i know there is still story but it became background. in the personal instance of this last update i could just watch instead of trying to kill aetherblades and the instance was going on his own. my presence was irrelevant (it was like final fantasy xii all over again, i had to just move from one spot to another to see what was happening).

although i read an interview that makes my hopes raise a little, i guess we wait and see. also my opinion is a little biased because i’m probably burnout of the game in need of a break (when i log i found myself wondering what the hell do i do? than i look at daily and i sigh because i cannot bear them any longer) and if i hadn’t a stupid mac i would try something else just to have a break.

although this game for me is still shining in his core mechanics, i mean even if i wish toughness, vitality, healing and condition damage would be more meaningful, i still love the absence of role, the lore, how they handled cooperation in open world with other players (personal nodes and no kill stealing is a blast and you can’t go back from this)…
the only thing that stall me is i have no freedom to change my build as fast and cheap as i could change my panties… changing builds without changing gear feels an handicap and using celestial for sake of changing build is like you are not changing it at all…

but i wait, the upcoming updates sound promising… new skills, new weapons, new armors… something new to do maybe not in the same small area and far from queensdale

for now my only response is, i wish i had all that money to make such an offer… although i believe you, in fact i noticed a similar attitude whenever i place offers for some rune… it’s a matter of seconds, since i am no patient i usually end up buying at the lowest offer and magic the previous competitor disappear… whoever he/she is he/she has all my hate

i didn’t miss the point, you say you have damage downgraded with no pet i say you have damage upgraded with pet… you see it as an handicap i see it as a bonus.
i guess is a matter of point of view at least for me. my guardian doesn’t do any damage unless i’m directly attacking, while my ranger with a living pet can do it while i ress or just whatch my pretty shoes… of course it is no dps alone, but it sustains my damage when i cannot do it directly for some reason.
if as you see it, the ranger would do hell damage plus a pet it would be an imbalanced class and already is in pvp if you ask me (no wonder there are always rangers with all spirits around and minion masters necros in pvp).
also if are asking for a ranger with a choice to have no pet but more damage if he choses so, well it sounds legitimate and i can even agree.
but apparently the class concept is very different than just a bowman.

edit: on the other hand i completely understand how the pet can be annoying in certain situations and how a “you pop up when i say so” would be a useful feature

but searching a mob and kill it as a guild is already in the game… this would just add fluff to a simple click… and guild puzzles are really entertaining also…
i like your idea don’t get me wrong, but something that sounds amazing in an anime maybe be very dull in an mmo.

i would like if they added some kind of guild story mode, or dungeons (with no time counting down, like a normal dungeon) expanding the idea of the guild puzzles…

maybe a mash up of all the guilds missions all in an instance (maybe a easier and shorter version of those in order not to take hours to complete it)

Nuka Cola, to me, and probably lots of other people it seems you ask for challenging contents (but you don’t say what challenging is) than they add some challenge you are not able to overcome though you still complain and blame fps. it looks like you are one of those people that can never be happy for some reason.
btw i never have more than 14 fps in any area of the game only problem i have with liadri is i’m colorblind and red circles are invisible to me. but nobody can deny some of those champions are challenging

isn’t it normal that walls prevent the pet to reach a target? or maybe i just misunderstood.
i truly don’t feel handicapped by my pet and most of all other rangers they don’t feel handicapped when they attack me in pvp or wvwvw. but you really have to keep control of it, sometimes passive pet may be needed. and some utility also…

i suggest you to move to a class with no pet and than notice the difference…. because i do but maybe that works just for me.

damage wise i’m not used to big numbers and i don’t care for overkill when i play, and usually in content where the pet is most likely to die the difference in number with other classes doesn’t really make a difference.

please don’t, multi-guilding is the only way you can create alliances in the game

- i play gw2 since 10 months but i played other mmos before including gw1 since 7 or more year now.

- i have 5 characters all males: 2 humans (a mesmer and a thief) 2 sylvari (a ranger and an elementalist), 1 asura necromancer. i chose all of them for the look, in fact i have no charr because dressed they look ridiculous. i chose their initial storyline based on rp reason, but later in the game i realized it was useless and the initial choice referred only to initial storyline, after a while you are perfectly the same whatever origin you chose. so for the later character i just chose random.

4. What are the things you enjoy doing the most with your character?
- i mainly play my mesmer though and i did almost everything is possible to do in the game with him. whenever there is a new update is my mesmer that do all the stuff.

5. What aspects of your character would you consider masculine, if any?
- no aspect i consider masculine, there is nothing here other than the look that defines masculine in my opinion. i might add the fact that almost all light armor doesn’t look masculine at all when you see your character from behind most of the time.

6. Are there things in the game you would like to do with your character but are unable to? Can you give some examples?
- i really don’t know, one thing that i think misses really much is a bunch of emoticon (that were there in gw1) and basic feature like sitting on a chair. but i don’t role play at all in gw2 so i don’t miss those feature as much. also there are town clothes but no meaning in wearing them.

i think ascended armor and weapons will come out first, maybe together i have no idea, but surely i know there are plans on a new tier of armor so…

wow that is a really sad story. i have no clue if you can have your guild back though, my guess is no, if you too have been kicked, otherwise you could kick the other leader until he gets his account back.
unfortunately if you are in the same position of the guild creator yes, you can kick each other

also in tournament there is a punish system on now!

I wanted just to show from where anet was going away to what we sadly have now in GW2 in regard of story telling.
These 2 cinematics were made after the games were already released.
Its quite sad, that they weren’t part of the games, like starting cinematics once you start the game for the first time to bring the gamer into the right mood for the game.

Cinematics are much better for story telling, but I also know, that they take naturally alot more effort, than making some kind of lifeless 2D art animated a tiny bit.

Yes, that art stuff is pretty to look at (the beginning very everything is in that 2D Art and painted), with the right back ground music you can get also some kind of emotion into it, but when compared to a real cinematic, it just hasn’t quite of the punch you get from a 3D cinematic.

Anyway, GW2 would have been alot more better, if at least most of the scenes and the story telling would have had at least the same quality like this one trailer in regard of the nice painted 2D stuff, which they showed 2011 at Gamescom in my hometown Cologne in Germany

false reports are not allowed and i wish there was report not for botting but for leeching in pvp, it is a behaviour that i hate

they give away a makeover kit with 5k achievement points

hearts are boring true, but easily completed they also tell something about the zones unlike some dynamic events. example: in queen’s dale there is a heart that ask you to collect apple, while also defending the farmers from spiders. it’s not much but you see a farm, with people busy doing what farmers do and they need a hand with spiders running rampant all over the place. than there is the troll champion event triggered by someone who interact with the rune stone… why the runestone is there? why it summon a troll? why is it important to anybody that i interact with it? there is also a rune hunter there, but she doesn’t say anything. how this event make sense?

it’s a pity because with no hearts exploration is really fast (it was the case in southsun) or frustrating like in orr (but the orr thing it’s just my opinion).

edit: also lacks of heart means a lack of even tiny lore. that is the thing that bugs me about southsun… we still don’t know where this karkas come from, they are just there… and what about all those sunken ships or the ships above the ground (the one in the umping puzzle for example). there is no story in southsun but the consortium exploitative attitude

i think the recipes in the mystic toilet that requires fractal relics now require crystalline dust. not sure about it, but so i was told

i would like if not a full expansion an opening of new areas to explore, with new mobs to kill new dynamic events and heart to complete, new world bosses and some more lore… for the moment we are running around the same places over and over… the only new area was southsun and this happened months ago.
i’m not necessarily talking about new elder dragons to slay though, but i would like (in case they plan to do it) to see the new elder dragon as a dynamic event (even one time only) although this would mean a lot of people due to crash or bugs or real life problems would miss it… maybe better an istanced event but still open to more than 5 players at a time!! i don’t mind how zhaithan fight was handled but instead of a flock of npc i would really prefer a flock of real players… whatever can give me the feeling that we are all involved in this fight as we all are brave soldier against the common evil.

but mainly i would like to explore new maps, new skills, new traits, maybe even new races or classes

besides some flat dialog there are also things that really make my teeth grin… although there is not a solution to those things other than eliminate it from the story.
examples: the battle of claw island part 1, you escape mentor die, go vendor in lion’s arch no menace from there is noticeable from lion’s arch… you can just walk away for days and the claw island battles will never degenerate.

trehaerne cleansing ritual: you exit from there and all orr looks exactly the same.

defeating zhaithan: there are still undead in gendarran fields and even in caledon forest…

i know that you have to suspend disbelief with personal story, it cannot impact all other players gameplay (can you imagine risens in LA everytime somebody does the battle of claw island personal story?). although it still feels stupid!
in gw1 nightfall there was a point you were exiled and kicked out from istan, and until a certain other point in the story you couldn’t come back to kamadan. that made sense for me. but it was also a different gameplay and setting.

other things that make me wonder why are:

the lady scout dieing during the fight against the mouth of zhaithan… she goes alone (why) while we wait outside firing at risen chickens for a stupid bet… we enter, we are trapped in an illusion, confused we get ambushed and almost everyone in the party dies but the asura and the 2 charr. we discover the scout became a risen and we kill her again… we fight the mouth of zhaithan between a joke and another, we get out of there smiling and happy making jokes about opening a door with the solid shoulder of a lady charr… like nobody died in there just some minutes ago!
so wtf this is a waste of death plotwise, because you easily forgot about her (well she was introduced in the same mission actually so it was a waste of character in the whole).

same with the guy with the dog, you know the guy or the dog have to die before the end the same instant you meet them… i’m surprised it was not the dog… but no i’m not really surprised after all… anyway he dies, but since he doesn’t turn in a risen slave… why on earth can’t i ress him? it is another waste of death… this is the only death that i really don’t get.. all others are clearly beyond the ressing point.

tegwen and her friend… i get sylvari are naive and consider death a new adventure… but she basically shrugs and move on… but when someone dies most often than not we are moaning because we are left behind by someone we loved, we discover a new all level of solitude… she is not, she is too busy befriending new people… another waste of death.

i could go on and on… but everybody else already pointed out the wackiness and the silliness so…

i think you lose all gold and collectible, but truly i’m not sure.
there is one thing you can do though, you can guest in the server you like and play there untill the next log off, but you can guest everytime you want.
in the meanwhile you collect the gold you need in order to buy gems to pay the transfer.
(yes you can buy gem with gold).
by guesting you can have access to the whole server, the only thing you can’t do while guesting is wvwvw. if you go there you’ll be transfered to your home server

lol the fun part is he was skilled enough not to fall, but not enough to kill subject 7 in 2 minutes?

as far as games go yes, also for quality story telling like side quests, romance, character development and npc development.
all the other console games or even mmo i played were trash in comparison until dragon age origin came to life… and again was a bioware title…
even bethesda, as much as i love the immense lore and background they are able to create in all of their games it is lack luster in character depth and even more in npc depth.

mmo wise the only other mmo with interesting story telling was lotro… but as you can immagine it’s not developers merit since it’s all about a world previosuly created by a genius

maybe we are just spoiled by bioware… there is no turning back from mass effect storytelling for me… (almost to the end).
if you play a game like fable after playing a game like mass effect you realize it’s not only an mmo issue the story telling in the games
