there will surely be a content gate some day in hte future so ascended weapon can have some meaning outside the fractals… you just wait and see.
since this game stripped me from the freedom to:
- not playing it everyday
- changing build at will (i expected this was a major feat since it was in gw1, i was just disappointed)
- not to play content i don’t like
- not having deadline on my farming (when i felt i need to do it)
- having some free time between “festivals” (i hate festivals in games because no dev can come up with something different than farm this a lot to get that).

for all this reasons i’m not playing it for the moment.

p.s. and i’m really tired if i want to do an instance to spam map chat or use an outside source to find party… i should just click and go like in pvp (and i don’t care they are doing it now… it’s too late to recover from the endless waiting everytime i want to run something not popular)

is really mesmer the least played?
i can see mesmer everywhere… litterally.
anyway i play a mesmer but i’m sure i’m not clever or smart or patient. i can have common sense, maybe, but i’m not sure about it.
i’m a good mesmer though even if i made up my build

except that the end game here is in queensdale champion train and frostgorge. and the occasional invasion.
among people i know everybody want ascended weapons but nobody is running fractals (untill they’ll add the new level)

nice effort and interesting ideas.
i don’t like that much the idea of running certain builds for certain encounters, but i totally agree that various classes as it is now do not bring any special feature to the fight unless they can reflect, stealth or portal, or sometimes instant ress.

you expressed it a lot better than me and i really simplified the situation, i just wanted to say that your post should be taken in consideration.

also i read somebody saying that the changes you propose need too much effort to put them down, but this is hardly an excuse, just because something is difficoult to program and code and debug doesn’t mean we have to shrug and be happy with the way it is.

whenever i log on… the idea i have daily to complete sometimes make me logging off, even if i try to complete only 5.
i can’t bear to see them on my ui all day until i’m done, and when i finished with it, monthly appear…

are you sure you can switch roles so well? when switching roles means changing gear and traits in a game where more and more gear and traits are better not to change because of the cost and time consuming? changing traits is already inconvinient, let alone changing the gear accordingly…

also as much as we wish to like it, not all classes are good for all roles, and even if they were, most roles in this game are not that useful and even worse i’m starting to think that there is no reason to have class at all…

well said, i too decided not to step foot on the sab, no matter if they nerfed it.
i miss the achievement list we had back in the last less grindy festival (wintersday) everything after wintersday with maybe flame and frost living story as the only exception, became overwhelming. you can still complete it in time, but only if you focus on that part alone. i hardly find party for whatever other content need party these days, people are way to busy farming, jumping, clicking crafting, complaining, burn outing etc etc. i’m not playing that much myself because despite so much to do i have nothing to do in game but always the same boring grinding dailies…

The currencies are necessary to allow people to play the game how they want. It everything rewarded gold only, then the path of least resistance we become too obvious and everyone would feel obligated to do it.

it is already so, this is why we have zerg trains for champions in frostgorge and not an in game lfg/queue for instances

because if so at your first few drops you would be done with the ascended farming and i think they want you busy with those as long as possible so you can start over with armor.

and if you wonder why they keep you so busy, my guess is because they don’t want to rush any new content and this is why we got recycled content like southsun, jumping puzzles, super adventure box and farming randomly in the old same maps

1 targeting or mouse toggle option, i’m hitting all the moa, and i want to stop before tyrian greenpeace kill me
2 trousers on male armors of every kind (just remove those ugly butt capes and there you are with awesome trousers already)
3 a meaning to a confusion/condition build in pve (i tried both confusion/condition builds vs berserker or even celestial and guess what won?)
4 less achievement on events (especially the one where you have to click multiple times on multiple objects on different map… 1 time should be enough 10 is already a waste of time especially for a clicking)
5 camera view

the problem is forcing people into content like in this case the hunt for mats or even worse the crafting in general!
maybe i don’t want to craft, what about it? maybe i don’t want to jump again…

and most of all i’m tired of all this achievement that require all this time and repeating stuff to complete it… the gauntlet was good since you had to defeat those championce only once, but after flame and frost it’s been an ever ending increase of repeat after repeat…
they added new mats, but no new way to go about it, only recicle old content like jumping puzzles and mini dungeon among the all the old world bosses… and now we repeat to craft all over again, with stellar price for the t6 mats and no buyble or sellable finished product…

can you imagine somebody who start to play now? they won’t even have time to do their personal story once, let’s figure exploration… they will always feel left behind and every 2 weeks new achievement to collect… i miss the game as it was until january

i had more than 300% mf during the secret of southsun… and the exotic drops for me was the same as ever…
i guess they can increase magic find through all the players and adjusting the loot table accordingly… so no, i don’t think they want us to be richer, they want us just to be ready for asia

and we have a wallet now, can you imagine how it was back than with all dungeon tokens and fractal relics and badges of honor?

and don’t forget to jump in 8bit for the new list of to do

i feel the same too…
and also i’m scared that with all this ascended gear after the time gate we will have gear gate… i know one day all bosses will spam agony just to give this gear sense (because fractals as fun as it can be, it has no meaning at all, it’s not that the more you go up the different the dungeon are and more story you uncover).

i’ve read about tequatl getting a revamp, where is it written? i know the queen made a speech after all but you have to be out of game in order to read it… so i guess tequatl revamp will be out of game too… unless it involve jumping

in the patch notes they were talking about some recipes to have cooldowns

even if some people find it fun and maybe i had fun there the first time, that content should be in this game at all! they should open maps and stop with this supermario jumping love they are putting everywhere (like the guild puzzle… couldn’t it be a mini dungeon with no jumping involved and some nice coordination required? no, we have to jump)

my clones bifrost projectiles are same as before… so it’s even easier to spot them^^

only from tp, loot or mystic forge as far as i know if it was craftable it would cost 0 copper like every other rune craftable out there

yeah like they told you they were going to change traits once you were geared up already for builds that no longer exist.
i spent more money and regret it in this game than in everything else i played so far… and maybe even in real life.
oh and in the super adventure box, it doesn’t really matters what you wear…

well they actually force you to do something you don’t enjoy to have new mats now… so… i guess i’ll have to jump a lot and i was happy i was over with all the silliness of jumping silliness… no, i have to go back there or just play something else

i hate time gating grinding content like the new crafting which is simply unfair to me… so in order to have the best weapons in the game you have to be the best crafter also… what if people don’t want to craft and used to rely on friends to craft for them weapons? no, now you are forced to gather, refine, combine, trash until you can gather, refine, grind, gather, refine, farm, gather, refine, jump, gather, refine, spend money, gather, refine, spend time, craft good job you earned one weapon… now start all over again to have an off hand or the other set…
and no, you can’t earn money from all of this. and also you don’t earn money at all because you have to salvage everything in order to have some more luck to salvage more…
so now what do we sell at vendors and trading post? because nobody is going to need rares or exotics any longer (they used to be useful for those person who like to change build a lot and experimenting with their class and their alts and for the ectos), and nobody is going to experiment and change build, well or is not incentivated in doing so, although you bet your class will be changed a lot (see 25th of june) so you are forced to do it and start over or buy or play a new game.

now, what i would like to see in this supposedly action oriented game is:
- the option to toggle the mouse view
- the option to click on enemy to target them instead of clicking on other players just because they are between me and the enemy.
- the option to understand what is happening in the battlefield during a zerg, instead of spamming autoattack untill i hit some yellow mob
- the option not to hit some yellow mob as default, i don’t know you, but i always, always, get to hit longhorn rams, dolyaks, moas, oakhearts, mooses, and even mobs that are not even there, i could probably hit a mob in another game, but never never the red one in front of me
- the option to make the health bar of the mob i’m hitting less engubering, sometimes i cannot target entire areas because of this and i waste aoe hitting some far ground or just my feet.

instead we get sab again yay!

oh no… tell me the celestial backpack is somehow obtainable differently that chosing stat on double click the first time… because i was just looking for it!

it works on my mesmer, i couldn’t even dream to run that fast on it, i almost cryed

more use of karma shouldn’t mean less earning of it… but arenanet doesn’t like for us to hoard nothing, not even empty slots on the bank

the problem is not grinding for them according to me, the problem is we already completed the game with exotics, where do we need ascended? and why? to get higher in fractals which has no end and always the same mechanics over and over only with more mobs and agony, and therefore no means to get higher?

they nerfed it so to make even longer to buy the ascended inscription recipe 21k karma each… now karma will have meaning and we are not going to like it, also we won’t get karma anymore for failing events thanks to well failing events on purpose to farm… so people who didn’t farm get punished too

it is just boring… no matter how effective, or difficoult or easy are to get… it is boring. and if you want to change build you have to go on again because you can’t buy them… you can’t sell, you can’t do nothing! did somebody try to salvage an ascended ring? is it possible now?
so my guess is best gear will be celestial, so if you want to change build at least you don’t have to change gear… of course you are good at nothing and worst at nothing, you are just plain boring, but yeah…

just for curiosity, once we will have ascended weapons where do we use it? we craft those to do what? jumping in the sab? ah yes… we will use them for farming the mats for the ascended armors…
and i already can say light will be a gown, medium a trenchcoat and heavy a plate with a butt mantle… because for some reason we are not allowed to look different whatever we wear when we see ourselves from behind all the time

and this is only because you think that between 0 and 300 there is no difference?
i guess there are lot more reason, and time zone make a hell of a difference. people have jobs you know and some even go to school… so time zone is greatly part of how many players play at the same time

hi, since the 20th patch, despite the fact i’ve ticked of the option to display player names (and npc) i still can see them.
i tried to change the option and change it back, but it didn’t work.

one thing that annoyed me the most in lotro for example was that even if you had horses and even ai horses that run you from a to b, it took ages to go everywhere and it was annoying… deadly annoying and the teleport skills were limited and you could use most of them every 1 hour… boring…

Zhaithan was a threat only in the personal story, it never was a threat outside it and never involved all the players in the server.
in videogames threats don’t really exist, because even if we fail we still win it is mostly a gameplay issue. if we should have real threats (meaning city destroyed, characters really dying) it would be impossible for us to some things and new players would suffer from it (immagine lion’s arch sieged by pirates, with no npc left alive and the mystic toilet downed for good… how would we trade, craft, socialize, mystic forge? and even if we can do for a while without, wouldn’t be annoying for a new player to do all this things in a different place where there is a level required gate at least?)

i can understand a lot of points…
there is only one thing i don’t get. where are these players that want to do challenging content?
if cof p1 is the most farmed dungeon and arah p4 is impossible to find a group to run it, what does it tell you about who likes what?
as far as i can see people don’t want challenging content, people want more loot and easy to obtain. in fact cursed shore is farmed not for the challenge but because there are exploitable events and southsun is a desert island, have a look in the timer when was last time defeated the karka queen in your server and tell me.
so this is why when people ask for challenging content i’m sure they really are asking for a different kind of entertainment and they don’t really want a challenge or they want it only if we are “forced” to do it all together as it was for the karka queen when they added it.

they didn’t mention specific skills or weapon, but yes they mentioned that their plan is to add new weapon to the existing classes and if i remember correctly even new skills for the existing one (on the latter i’ really not sure) you can find all of this in the gw2 blog

define hardcore players please, because i play hours and hours every day like an hardcore player and i still don’t love challenging content and prefer entertainment…
so when you say that guild wars 2 cater to casual, what does exactly mean? because i would define myself as casual player but in truth i’m not since i spend more time in game than in real life (and that would be hardcore)… but everytime they add useless difficulty to the game because teenagers cry in a corner for difficulty i rage (ac should be the easiest dungeon designe for lv 35 character but it is not anymore… why?)

i think challenging content is overrated… everybody ask for challenging content but than when it arrives nobody does it or very few, unless it is solo content…
about wp and high level maps if you notice they are always contested so often you have to run miles before you can be back to the fight. an example of this are the temple events. especially grenth you really have only one uncontested wp and it is miles away.
same in southsun, and guess what? southsun and cursed shore are deserted places and cursed shore it is still exploited for farming more than for its challenging content.
i much rather prefer entertainment than be challenged, especially when like in the queen gauntlet challenged means not be able to see when to dodge cause i’m colorblind and the rings are red on a red ground!! that means that the challenge does not depend on my skill but on luck, and there is nothing challenging in luck. or when challenge can be beaten only with some classes rather than every available class, example subject 7 achievement requirement it can be done easily by a thief or a rifle warrior… every other class is just crippled because most of their attack are aoe. and if you don’t care for that requirement is not challenging at all even with 5 gambits on.

although i agree on wvwvw, as it is now, it is the basic tpvp that we have but in a large scale, there is no real reason to capture a point other than points. and killing players it’s just useless because they’ll be back in no time, siege and defend can lasts hours because of this and after a while wvwvw it’s just that and it is boring for me too (in fact i avoid it).

i’m at 12/13 but i have no clue what i did wrong, i kill everything during the event, champions of every kind, but i still don’t know which map was bugged and why.
most maps i’ve done more than once with the same alt or other alts… but i still don’t get credit

that is unfortunate.. because you can follow a commander and not being in a squad… how they can talk to everybody if they are suppressed?

oh and in wvwvw there is an option that is not related to graphic high quality that makes you see all of your team mates or enemies wearing the same armor always… i don’t remember the option names but it has a menu that makes you select how you see allies/enemies

at least now you can see people even if they wear all the same armor… optherwise they would be invisible (enemy also)… is that better?

i think you can spam in map chat with no fear of suppression… but you can be suppressed in say chat…
i don’t know, i don’t talk that much, but i’m not a commander

i can swear is less than 10k and i can get loot even if i get bronze medal… and when i’m in the open world i rarely party especially with strangers…
i don’t think the damage done by the party qualifies better than single player damage to tag a mob.

In my direct experience it does.

so according to this logic i f i kill mob a and my party mate kill mob b we can loot both? i don’t think so… so why should it work differently when fighting a single mob for us to be in party or separated?
also when i’m in party with my boyfriend sometimes i never managed to tag mobs (i’m talking before all this changes to loot table) while he still looted a lot and more than me… so. i won’t bet on it… but my guess is it doesn’t make any difference
