All new elites will get a new weapon until they’ve filled all available options simply because their would be outrage with other methods.
If mesmer got mainhand pistol or warrior reused an existing weapon then that means those would be two classes that don’t get access to a new legendary weapon and additional weapons skins. Those classes will be missing out and will make the issue known.
However this is Anet they never use anything twice and no doubt elites will probably be scrapped and we’ll be fed the new systems line in addition to the next expac being scrapped because hey were doing something new. Whether they actually do it or not Anet is known to skimp on actual content by instead revamping things.
There are a lot of weapons, and we technally only have 4 more expansions coming giving the elders. I think the bloodstones, Palawa Joko and maybe an invasion of Cantha can get their own expansions
I can tell from the screenshot that you’re in Priori hall, the shadows there have always flickered. They flickered when I had a 660ti, they flickered on my friends AMD, and they flicker on my new 1060
I can assure you, it’s the shadows specifically in the Priori hall, nowhere else do shadows flicker
I used to check the price on the TP and to sell it if it was worth more than an ecto (as said above, you get 0.8 ecto / rare on average, but don’t forget the 15% transaction fee on the TP too), but it was too much hassle and I now salvage everything (not to mention you will need tons of ectos if you go for legendaries anyways).
If that’s what you chose to do too, in case you don’t know, this Salvage Kit is extremely useful (I craft one every time there’s a MF daily, and I still have plenty in my bank).
EDIT – As for the Essences of Luck, they’re contained in Bags of Loot too.

This is a complete setup taking costs, chances etc into acount
A painfully long-kitten boss fight the entirety of which you need to redo every time you wipe because of one of a few dozen crappy kitten random bugs. Other than that and annoying major NPCs, I don’t have a lot of complaints.
Afaik there are no bugs left in the mawdreyfight, sure there should never have been any, but be honest, theyre fixed so whats the point in complaining about that now
> Plays an MMO this game should not have multiplayer content
> vertocallitynwas a mechanic to use your gliding for and makes maps a lot larger than they appear on the map = good
> no opinion on this, I think the elites ure useful. But not necessarily required, in fact, I thought some elite specs to be a downgrade on my playstyle
if you still have Magic find to collect and its not way higher then I would salvage – more fun and less hassle.
salvaging rares doesnt give any magic find
Salvaging rares gives Essences of Luck just as much as anything else
since when?
Since when not?
Since always. Only Fine and Masterwork equipment salvages into EoL.
Then where didnall my luck came from after all those multiloots, I rarely salvage blues and greens.. they couldnt have just randomly appearednin my bags

They didnt take the time to fix yearsold bugs and glitches, why would they put in new mechanics
1) the archetypal of weapons remains since you can only use one elite spec at a time.
2) the topic is why you dont like elite specs, not why they will never work. From my point of view this works better than releasing complete new classes each time
But your last column is in my favor, i too would like to see the classes’ archetypal weapon as an elite spec.
Warrior’s rampartant as an example, could change all the axe skills
the quaggan lacks every sign of evolutionary advantage, and apparantly it’s abaility to go feral is it’s only redeeming trait to survive as a species.. which is offset by the fact that quaggans don’t wanna breed with feral quaggans… which leaves me with the question.. how has this species survived until now.. the walking blobs of bait for nature
By having no natural predators until the krait arrived. Same as the dodo, the kakapo and a whole bunch of other real species, both extinct and currently surviving only by being protected by humans. Believe it or not, quaggans make perfect sense.
They have predators now so I hope they quickly go extinct.
That was an early chapter before scarlet was even known. With the same logic it was the flame legion. This is truly necromancy of the forum at its finest
A dev threw away a scribble of a 3 year old girl who didnt know how the world worked, then a spanish cleaning lady found it and accidentally put it on the approved races pile
What do you mean? Quaggans are more or less an accurate depiction of a species becoming endangered due to biocenosis shift caused by emergence of a new predator. They’re pretty much a fantasy take on Steller’s sea cow before it went extinct.

Over the whole friggin’ nation?
They built a wall. It faces upwards. :P
While we fight the dragons, as they tear down our homes,
The tengu are out gathering all the best stones.
Then they’ll use them rocks to build a wall,
Dip it in gold and make Soren’dra pay for it all!
curious if anyone gets the reference

Salvage all rares, not worth your play time checking each one on tp.
Leather rares and meta prefixes sell pretty well. If you know some of them its faster to know which ones to check. I know magi, rabid, cleric, shaman, etc, those are usually worth less than a sunday’s ecto with a hangover
Does the game close or minimalize? If it minimalizes press alt-tab to cycle through open screens, and reopen the game. If the game actually shuts down your problem is bigger than I think anyone can solve, in that case, uninstall the game, reset all graphical and control drivers, and reinstall the game.
Ach, i dont ever consider the quaggans to be canon ingame. Anywhere there are quaggans you can ignore them and the story wont change in the slightest. The only times quaggans have influenced the story so far was negatively.
So i just ignore the fact they even exist. So etimes I wonder where the idea comes from. A dev threw away a scribble of a 3 year old girl who didnt know how the world worked, then a spanish cleaning lady found it and accidentally put it on the approved races pile
Similar to killermanjaro, I always check for 40s, sometimes 35
The general idea is, selling is a guaranteed value, salvaging can be 0c to 3xecto value, so that’s the gamble.
While I still love the game as is, I’ve set the bar pretty low of anets schedules and ability to actually deliver stuff. That way, if they make something, its all okay, and if it turns out good, I’ll be pleasently surprised. But i’m well over the fact that we’ll never see GW1 quality, or LS1 quantity again
I think it’s kind of a double edged sword.
I notice how many games use similar names when it comes to cliche stuff like
‘being holy, being evil, weapon attacks’ etc
While this particular list is very reminiscent of GW1 monk skills, the names are also very generic, so it’s technically possible for it to be coincidence.
I mean, you can hardly copyright a generic name like “prayer” or “blessing”
People demanded the Super Adventure Box become a recurring event. Since it takes place every April Fool’s, it’s now our spring festival.
..and I’m 200% ok with that.
SAB is a sham and you know it
Ill ask my grandson to tell me what it was like
Loot is weighted (armor) and weapons are caster, ranged, blunt or sharp. While there is no directed table, loot table is favored to what you can use.
Eg. A ranger will 2 bows before a hammer, and 2 leather armors before a chainmail. To put it roughly
They did an overhaul of the royal terrace in this patch, and as a result, one or more NPCs might’ve reset. The Aesthetician wasn’t in the terrace until a later patch, they must’ve used an older copy of the area to design the Lunar’s version.
But it’s only two weeks, and there’s an Aesthetician at the main plaza of DR, so if you really need one, you can go there just as easy. And since it’s only two weeks and a just as easily accessible NPC is already present, I don’t think anet should waste any resources on fixing this
Here are some tips. Don’t get too close because of kick and fire stomp. Dodge the big blasts. Save a dodge in case a big blast is coming. And never shoot at an enemy standing in a big whorl because all damage will be inflicted to you
Tattoos are a little overrated, since they usually are covered by armor. Maybe the kit should focus on facial tattoos. Asura ears couldve piercings, unique horns are easy. Humans could have beards, or facial jewelry like indians and egyptians wear
Don’t speak for me. Heart of Thorns was everything I could ask for and more. I love it and it has a high replay value for me.
When did I say the Xpac was bad? Did you not read reviews? ratings? The massive disappointment in the forums throughout several months? Well I did. I really enjoy HOT, but bits and pieces throughout two years…..is not a complete Xpac. This isnt a hate thread, its quite the opposite. While some players may see it different than my post, the facts show that for the most part, this was never considered an “expansion”.
You’re listening to what is knows as the Negative Confirmation Bias
People who love the game are in it playing, people who hate it are outside the game complaining about it.
When you go to the forum you’ll only be confirming your negative biasergo, 5% hate HoT, 10% are indifferent, 85% love it
You know only the 5% of people, and now try to speak for the full 100%
that’s not gonna float our boatslol, this isn’t true for the same reason you are complaining about it. just because you’re not on the forums doesn’t mean you should assume people love it. I didntr know bout forums for years and still hardly use reddit. where a lot more info about this game and what people think seems to be.
This forum is overhwelmingly negative about this game.
Reddit is overwhelmingly positive.
Whats your point?
ANET has done it this way for over 10 years ………. I have no problems with it.
No?
I don’t recall anything in the first Guild Wars not obtainable by playing (even a lot).
And here, everytime they did something like this, they got bad feedbacks from the community.
if you weren’t around during a festival, hats were completely unobtainable forever
Lupine Mask
Zombie Mask
Skull Mask
Dragon Mask
Lion Mask
etc
they’re all pointless items, but if you missed them they were forever unobtainable
Nothing is to “blame” — there’s never been any indication — in this game or GW1 — that they would make major changes to festivals every year. The entire point is to re-use the content so that we have breaks in between new content. That gives the devs time to work on new stuff and gives us something to do.
Sometimes, as in past Halloween, they fix some stuff or adjust this or that; most of the time, they don’t. Sometimes, they’ll add a new quest or two; most of the time, they won’t.
Given how much criticism we’ve thrown at ANet this year (some of it was even deserved), they had a lot of stuff to fix. I’d rather see them refining the main game and working on new stuff, rather than working on festivals.
it’s not so much about adding new stuff as it is about fixing broken stuff.
Dragonball is propably one of the buggiest and glitchiest activities in the game, and they show no indication of ever being fixed
A lot of season 1 has been rolled out in the form of fractals, which is a nice compromise.
A lot?
You have half of two different dungeons turned directly into fractals, and a third fractal made of another theme.
You don’t even have a quarter of Season 1 in fractals.
Even if you add the rest of it in fractals (you cannot), you still skip out of the story. There is nothing relating the Nightmare Fractal to the Tower of Nightmares arc except for looks. Even the Toxic Hybrid aka Ensolyss has nearly no similarity in speech to the original (sounds more guttural while talking a lot more) let alone story.
At best, the five fractals are just “a taste” of what Season 1 was, and a poor one at that – like the recap.
And its only the visuals, too, half of the story was omitted from the first ones, and there was no story in the nightmare tower (related to Ls1)

these are the full patch notes they released. please tell them where is the change?
this could all be avoided by making it worthwhile to play, even if you lose
but right now, there is zero reward for losing, and equally zero reward for winning.
So right now there is no incentive to take dragonbash seriously whichever side you’re on. The numbers are just for show, there are no winners because there is no reward
Dear Anet,
Your players do not expect this.
Agree, don’t want raids, couldn’t care about PvP , WvW is way down the list for me as well.
The OP has no right to use ‘WE’ as if he speaks for the entire the entire player base. OP needs to edit out all the “we” and change them to I WANT.
Yes I do, you should read more carefully. Additionally “we” is subjective to the crowd I am referring to.
then who is this ‘we’ you’re talking about because a lot of ‘wes’ are currently denying their association to your ‘we’
I think it’s more of an issue that winning doesn’t give any reward whatsoever
How would you feel if you had a good pvp match, and right at the end you get ported back out without the reward screen ever showing up?
no envelopes, no tokens, not even a message onscreen " you win "

that’s not gonna float our boats
That expansion is gonna be epic if you wanna make up for no fixes for three festivals in a row.
Winning dragonbash: no rewards whatsoever
Hitting people: bullets curve, dodging timing’s off,
Cannot do festivals with friends/guildies
good job anet, you never cease to amaze me
Episode 4 here, no talk about SAB thx
)
Its all the year of the rooster, the year anet.. no.. i swore I wouldnt do innuendo
Dont quote me on it, but I think so, yes, because at least the physical player encounters between US and EU are seperated. If you move to an NA server, you wont be able to interact with EU players anymore.
It’s been over 4 years and humans still have no beards
*cough *cough, beards worth mentioning
We have either: several models of stubble that looks the same from a small distance
or the beard my grumpy uncle has when he cosplays santa clause.
Isn’t it about time humans get some trimmin’ love?
This would be a great selling point for the next expansion, me thinks.
Pirate beards, braided bears, egyptian or asian beards (for people with canthan and elonian descent). Shouldn’t be too hard, right?
And on that very link, it says…

LinseyMurdock:
Oh goodness. Well. We did a little investigating since this is a weird one and here’s what is going on. The root of the issue is that we are occasionally bad at picking internal names for maps heh. Divinity’s Reach is internally Valley_Divinity and the VERY OLD Lake Doric map that was not meant to see the light of day, is internally Valley_Reach. Now, back in the day, Izzy was working on ectobox in his free time and made a test version of what would eventually become the City Portal Scrolls. Looks like he set the target location to Valley_Reach which shouldn’t have been a problem since test items should never be given to players. Whoops! This map was cut from the initial launch of GW2 a couple YEARS before ship. It is not a map in development, you can see that it is very rough because no one has worked on it in at least 6 or 7 years. This is not Episode 4’s map and we have zero plans to release this into the game at any point in the future. So have fun in there if you happen to be one of the Chinese players who were given this item!
it’s not even on the table
inserts 208984 sad faces here
If you mean see Super Adventure Box come back as the Festival they stated it would, I don’t know why you would be surprised. If you think they have no time to change Halloween or Wintersday, and those are released as expected, why would Super Adventure Box be any different?
Addendum: if it comes back in an updated format and not as a copy of last year
Stop using baseline warrior and use the elite spec.
Also stop using what sounds to be a special snowflake Hammer warrior build with Physical utilities (?) and use an actual meta build if you want to feel effective.
1. I use the elite spec
1. I use the meta hammer+GS build < exact opposite of snowflake
1. using physical utilities leaves me 100% vulnerable to the skrittstorm that is the conditions in PvP
if there is a new race, I hope its the grawl.
ugg make smash!
WHRII-HA-RA
WHRII-HA-RA
I miss their chants from GW1
I have a small problem, I didn’t have as badly last season as I do now.
I can hardly do anything as a warrior anymore.
All CC is useless because all I see is ‘immune’ every swing of my hammer, every stomp of my feet.
If I want to fight casters, guardians or.. well, almost anything, I have to sacrifice all my utility slots for 5 seconds of immunity to all the endless rain of conditions and controls other classes can spout endlessly.
Long story short, conditions have become so useful and spammable there’s hardly any point in trying to cure or defect them, because they can swing 10 conditions on me, I cure it, and a second later all those conditions are back.
Please, I have loved using the warrior in all seasons until now, but this season I am like a fish on land, anyone else having this problem?
this might propably be a lot of work, but how about profession specific reskins? (just skins, no gameplay alterations)
Fractal Undead for necromancers, Fractal turrets for engineers, Fractal banners for warriors, etc,
Like an ultimate tier collection of things. I think that’ll bring some life to fractals.
Wow. That’s not what happened, at all.
Super Adventure Box was an April Fool’s joke, and it was developed on a Dev’s personal off-work time. It was so popular, it was brought back later that year, with a new world that wasn’t very popular.
After that, it wasn’t seen for years, but almost constantly requested. This last year, it was returned, announced that there would be no further development (more Worlds) and that it would become a yearly Festival.
The initial patch was a dev off-time, yes, after that, it was a sham that players demanded be continued.
Right now, anet has their hands full to create a LS patch in 2-3 months, to the extend they didn’t even have time for the most minute changes of halloween or wintersday. IF I see an SAB update this year, I am gonna assume anet has lost all sense and reason of priorities
Yeah, I didn’t care for him at all.
I’m perfectly fine with him being a non-thing. I just wish he had been a non-thing before he became a thing in the first place.
As a character he was pretty bland and inspired a lot of disdain because he felt shoehorned into an important role because he knew more about ONE dragon than anyone else.
Not for his ability to lead, not for his ability to inspire, no. Because he knew more about a single dragon than anyone else did. That’s it.
Who’s charge was it to lead? Ours. To inspire? Ours. To kick heinie? Ours. (The player.) Who got most of the credit? Him. Because he got a bunch of low-flying airships made and blew a big slow-moving target out of the sky with them.
It was obvious he had no idea what he was actually doing when we did the whole Morde thing. I mean.. what kind of strategy was “Take all the airships and hover just above the canopy of the jungle then randomly fire into the jungle?”
Like.. everyone with any sort of tactical sense would have both questioned and refused to do that. It was literally the worst plan in the history of plans. Would have been better off using that searing cauldron again or something to clear kitten out and send in ground troops that way.
But, hey… This is what we get when we put the guy who has no idea what he’s doing in charge.
Yet, I digress. Frankly the only good way to have handled Treehorn was to never have had him as a character in the first place. It should have been someone else, or at least they should have made him more than just “random tree scholar dude,” you know. Someone with some real qualifications, which he simply didn’t have.
Then again there’s so little sense in the Pact as a whole I suppose I’m not surprised everyone was eager to fire at nothing and pretend it would actually do anything as a strategy.
What you (maybe) fail to understand is, we could’ve done jackskritt without the Pact.
While we were having our little destiny’s edge field trips, Trahearne was leading the pact into Orr. Did you really think 1 human (or whatever race you played) could run from Lion’s Arch to the Ruined City of Arah, storm in, and fight an elder dragon?
With that meager hall of monuments sword?
Of course we did the important stuff. but do you think we even wouldve had the oppertunity to TRY if the pact didn’t pave the way to Arah?
[…] because the next major release is not until April (SAB).
What does “SAB” stand for?
Swaste Aof Bresources
(Super Adventure Box, it was an april fools joke that was discontinued because it drained resources, then people complained they wanted it back, so now anet is putting in valuable resources that they could’ve used on other content)
I will pray to all the six gods that anet finally says who SAB is nothing but a dumpster of development time and put those resources to fractals, raids or LS
Sorry, but it’s a freaking MMO, they are complex game, rather among the most complex games. Therefor it is needed to google stuff. And besides: asking in the forum and waiting for an answer takes a lot longer than just goolge it within 1-2 minutes.
Nobody is complaining about the complexity of the game — it’s what makes it fun to play! The complaint was about the lack of ways to grasp the game’s complexity without doing extensive research on your own via third party mechanics (websites, guides etc.). GW1 was less complex, true, and it had tutorials GW2 is sorely missing. How much fun do you think I am having explaining the same basics over and over (and over) again to newbies in my guild or in the big cities? It’s ridiculous how little information is being provided by the game itself even about the most basic elements of the game.
I don’t really see it as a problem, I regularly asked wiki back in GW1, and so I did in WoW. Sometimes a little extra thinking is just necessary, and you can either complain about it, or just do it. I mean, is it really that much effort to open wiki every once in a while?
