I can honestly say I have not yet seen it.
I think you’re over excaggerating for now. It might become more normal later,
but by then, why wouldn’t you have a dpsmeter if not for the sake of being pro,
but for the sake of justing wanting to know if you’re carrying or being carried?
As wasabi said, don’t like it, don’t join it. Feel free to make your own parties. or join a raiding guild, like RTI. DPS meters have and will always be a ‘recommended, but not required tool’ because it can only be useful and not obstruct your gameplay
This fractal would have failed so hard if it was released back then, but now? Fractal team has shown it is more than capable of doing justice to one of the most influential characters in all of GW. I wish it was part of its own thing though and not the ending to Arrk’s storyline (unless his story extends to much more than just 3 fractals).
They could actually pull this off in a long series that would ultimately tie into where the gods came from and what brought them to Tyria, as well as what caused Abbadon to decide “giving out” magic to the world (they could even come out with the “Elder” gods that were never explicitly mentioned like Arachni). The last raid storyline and the following salt from forum loreheads about it being so much better than the rest of lore goes a long way in showing that the best thing Anet can do to enrich storytelling is to close the loops that were left back then during the times of GW1.
Exactly my thoughts, back then, me and many others, didn’t think abaddon would’ve been done justice, but with the current team I am more than .. how do you see that in english? trusting of their skills.. you know what I mean
Quite of the elite skills, actually.
Like, they should feel like peak performances. Having a long cooldown, and then a super effect. But a good majority of them are worse than utility skills, and still have a super long cooldown. On some classes I just selected a random elite skill and accepted I’ll just never use it.
(And for the record: I voted for the Thaumanova fractal precisely because we knew nothing about it and knew something about Abaddon’s fall. It remains among my favorite fractals in terms of story and setup, even if it’s still longer than I’d like.)
Even though i voted for Abaddon’s Fall, when i heard that Taumanova won i wasn’t really disappointed, because i also was interested in that event. I stopped being interested as soon as i have entered it and saw Scarlet (who i still think of as the greatest narrative fail in the game). I’m now glad that it wasn’t Abbadon’s fractal that won – i don’t think i could have survived seeing this historical event tied to Scarlet somehow.
the only thing that saddened me about it, was the fact that I had already pieced together a short story in my head based on dialogue, and propable racial interactions. A story which got shot down the drain sadly
I think this false Lazarus is none other than E aka the person giving you those random mails. If so I think E is none other than Kasmeer’s father who got in trouble with the nobility of Divinity’s Reach. If so his idea to help Dragon’s Watch as a false Lazarus is possibly a plot of revenge. Also it’s possible Caudecus was a pretender ruler of the White Mantle and that E is their true Confessor or some other leader title.
Nah, I already think Blaine is E,
he said in a mail that Blaine is a fake name. And he knew it was you and could send a mail out from that well despite never catching your name or face, so he knew by some way that it was you. Only E would have such intel AND be able to use that intel from a well. Plus he was in the well hiding from the white mantle, which colaborates with the rather antagonistic letters he send to Caudecus
I think “Lazarus” is infact disguised Kormir. She wants to steal our glory and get famous for savior of the world again.
One Reason why it can’t be Kormir.
1. Lazarus actually can kill things and isn’t a useless piece of kitten.
Reason 1 why it could be Kormir:
Lazarus made some sense, this guy made zero sense and counterintuitive decisions. Something Kormir was also good at
aye ^^ i never played gw1 so id like to see how the fight could be done against the destroyer whith the help of kormir before she absorbed his power and turned into the god of truth.
just to be sure, you know abaddon isn’t a destroyer, right? the god of water and secrets, and later, the god of madness. and his fall isn’t the one as in GW1, but way.. waaaay long before that
that about the fall i didnt know but abaddon in latin means “destroyer”
ah okay, just to be sure, that was. Since destroyer is also a type of enemy, seedlings of Primordus.
Abaddon was one of the initial 6 gods, whose existence has had a massive impact on the world, and even though he’s gone now, many things are still influenced by his designs. essentially, free magic, unlocked bloodstones, the plague, the sinking of orr, the brandishing of ascalon, the desolation of Elona, and many things more, are the direct or indirect result of of Abaddon going nuts. at some point, he went to war with his brethren, he was stronger than a single other god, but an unknown number of them managed to defeat him, after which they flung him into to foundry of failed creations. from there on he caused all kinds of events that led to GW1.
and the point in case being, there was a poll a while back where we could choose between two fractals, and one of them was the fight between Abaddon and his brethren, his initial fall.Later, indeed, his broken body is completely destroyed and Kormir takes his essence
so in the fractal it would have us maybe assisting the gods bringing down abaddon? this sounds like too big of a project for a simple release maybe it will be the finale fractal for the arkk story no?
yea, it’s supposed to be a big thing, and true, at the time many people voted against abaddon not because they wanted the thaumanova, but because they didn’t have faith in anet making a proper fractal for abaddon. he’s like the big star of the entire gw1 story (I really recommend you play it, though).
But I wonder though, I don’t see how the Arkk story could intertwine with this fractal without having to sacrifice a lot of the story on either side
After the final fight in the recent story episode, Canach asks Anise to be freed of his debt to her:
Canach: Anise, while they have their moment… To the matter of my billet…
Countess Anise: Not wasting any time, eh?
Canach: Not when it should be my own.
Countess Anise: You served me faithfully and, given the bearded reptile buried somewhere beneath me, you have held up your end of the bargain.
Countess Anise: Consider yourself a free sylvari. What is that reference to “the bearded reptile buried somewhere beneath me”? The first time I heard it, I said “What??”. Any ideas?
I’m like 99.99% sure it’s either Mordremoth or Caudecus, and given the hidden meaning between lines, I’m like 87.23% sure it’s Caudecus
Um… how is there a 12.77% chance it’s a reference to Mordremoth? Mordy was all viney, thorny and plant-like. Nothing really serpentine about him, and certainly not bearded. Plus, at the time of the conversation, that dragon would’ve been dead for over a year. In my mind, there’s no doubt she’d been referring to Caudecus, thus his death led to the immediate release of Canach.
like, it’s still a dragon, and so calling them a lizard would be okay since it’s a figure of speech. It’s bearded part that makes it 87.23% sure it was a reference to caudecus, though, but yea, I hadn’t really thought about the time gap. thought it was shorter. in that case I raise the initial value to 96.28%

Today’s frustration in the Fields of Ruin made me think:
Would it be good for the game to see all active events within the zone?
to elaborate the frustration: you go to a zone because you want to do events.
But one event is bugged, weird, or whatever, and the event-marker is preventing
you from seeing all other events until you get there. I also noticed how some markers appear very strong, highlighting sometimes even across the whole map.
So I thought, if i could see all event markers on the map, I could choose where to, or heck, even know there’s something to go to. I mean, thinking about it now, exactly how many events have I not done, or even heard of, because I haven’t run into it by
sheer force of luck
I for one, and as one of many, many people, would still love to see the planned
fractal of the Fall of Abaddon.
At time it was put to vote, do we want a fractal about something with no lore,
like the thaumanova facility, so that lore had to be made up on the spot. Or did
we want one of the most important aspects of the human and tyrian history as
a fractal?
Now the thaumanova has come to pass, and a lot of time has passed since. Quite
a while later, the question about Abaddon’s Fall was brought up again, but dismissed
because they didn’t want to invalidate the initial vote. But it’s been like three years or so now, if you make the fractal now, it won’t invalidate the vote. We’ve had the
thaumanova facility all this time, so the value of the vote has been more paid out.
Instead, I honestly believe that a majority of the people who voted thaumanova then,
would have voted Abaddon now.
WP said something to this element;
“I didn’t vote for the Fall of Abaddon because at the time, I had no faith in the
fractal team to do the lore justice. But now, with the current quality of fractals,
I would more than love to welcome the Fall of Abaddon”
So, I bring this up again, because I want anet’s current opinion on the matter.
Since a lot of time has passed since they said they didn’t want to invalidate
the original vote, and that argument is no longer valid, what reasons would anet
still have to not make the Fall of Abaddon fractal.
On a secondary note, I personally would love it as a raid now, though, as I believe only such difficulty would do Abaddon justice, but a fractal is nice, too. And I am
considerate of the average player to not get into raids.
Menzies, along with Dhûm had an alliance with Abaddon to break the primeval age, and return to power during the Nightfall.
Dhûm shared his Fury, and Menzies created many demons from the shadows.
But after the fall of Abaddon, we killed the Darknesses and the Fury, we defeated Dhûm and put him back in a dormant state..
but Menzies was never heard from again
Is he still out there?
Or is he simply powerless to do anything on his own?
@OP
You might be reading too much into ending a short note with an initial (especially one that includes the writer’s full name in the ‘sent by’ field)
Warm regards.
-I
perhaps, but still, he said “I am calling myself Blaine now”
so that means its not his real name, that was the whole reason I decided that -B was bigger than just a random initial, because he used that wording
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
I agree they’re too alike, but they do have a color distinction.
If it helps, they both eat bloodstone and either one of the other two, so maybe associate their colors with the second item
Those are from the rifts. You need a rift stabilizer to trigger the actual event to start.
well, whatever they’re from, they’re preventing me from seeing actual events
So today we got daily events in Fields of Ruin
When I went there, I immideatly saw an event pop up, I went there, and all I saw
was the star icon on the minimap.. nothing happened, no event jumped up, there
was nothing there at all. Alas, it prevented me from seeing other events in the
vicinity. So I went to another random point, until I got a new event marker. This
time again, a blind marker in the middle of nowhere with no event. Eventually I
found 1 event, and thereafter, 3 more blind markers.. I give up..
It’s impossible to find events when ever area has an event marker up without any
active events.
Suggestion: show all events on the map.. like, is there even a reason not to? or have a hover over icon that will show all events

They weren’t disabled very long. I’m sure you can buy it soon…?
I mean, one should have enough Fragments in a day or two of gathering.
Good luck.
they’re back live already? last time I checked they were still gone. I might go get some tonight, then.. or at least try to
I forgot about Abaddon and his fit. As much as I’ve read I still wasn’t sure if jack, jill, or their uncle bill could do the things that our characters do. It makes sense that everyone has some magic essence, but whether they have the aptitude to tap into and use that essence makes a lot of sense.
Thanks
in GW1 the player was a ‘hero’. They weren’t gods, but they were centainly prodigies in their fields. Hence the Eye of Janthir picked up on you. Like, the player posessed high aptitude of magic, ability to learn anew, and also ascended. Long story short, the player defintely belongs to the 1% abilitywise
I just wanna say how i love that i can’t buy it because anet disabled the jade shards!!
(for whoever gets the reference)
anyway, today I got a mail from Blaine thanking him for feeding me in the well, followed his signature
-B
and that got me thinking, is it a wink to, or even an association with -E?
or am I thinking too far ahead?
My logic? he’s a man who can handle intel with care. He was down in a well. Yet he was able to get a message to us by mail, when he never got our name or facial features.
So I’m breaking down the message here:
Dear Nikeita!
It’s been some time, hasn’t i?? Remember me? It’s Blaine!
From the well!
Things are going great for me down here. Not only did I stay
safe in the White Mantle attack, but I’m making quite a life
for myself in the well. Even adopted a pet rat! His name is
Nibbles. He’ll warm up to me soon, I just know it.
Best regards,
-B
PS: I go by Blaine now. Figure its more appropriate for a man
of my age.
Dear Nikeita!

Okay, so what this means is nothing more than an introduction, we fed him in the well, that’s the whole story
Things are going great for me down here. Not only did I stay
safe in the White Mantle attack, but I’m making quite a life
for myself in the well.
Is he telling us that he deliberately hid because of the white mantle. Or did he go down there and told he had made it his new base of operations?
Even adopted a pet rat! His name is
Nibbles. He’ll warm up to me soon, I just know it.
This is the most interesting part, it sounds to me like he captured someone, and intents to draw intel from them. Could it be a minister? Could it be a WM?.. Could it even be Bauer?
Best regards,
-B

Is he E with a new identity? is he an associate of E?
Let me know what your thoughts are!
PS, I’m claiming the credit for Wooden Potatoes next 1 hour video on the subject!
PS2, Can we please have a fix on the Hasn’kitten no longer change to a kitty. Maybe the word should be recognized if it’s attached to a hasn’ or won’ or whatever, whitelist a few words or whatever, just make the system less sensitive. the system is now censoring actual ingame text

All Mursaat were worshipped as gods by the White Mantle, therefore this imposter cannot be a Mursaat.
sorry, I don’t follow this logic? All mursaat were indeed worshipped as gods,
while the white mantle is currently fractaled, there is still a big group that still
worships them as gods, Xera’s unit for example, and Bauer (although he more
out of fear).
There were also groups who didn’t care about the mursaat and joined the white
mantle for political reasons, aka Caudecus’ faction.
I would much rather they add a set new secondary facial features
(charr horns, norn tattoos, human beards, asuran ears, sylvari whatever they have.. glowth?)
I agree with the OP…
Please let us disable holding down space key to glide option and let us at least keybind glider activation… Double-Tap to glide is also a nice option to add as well. Please give us options on how we activate glider so problems like this dont keep happening. This game was designed with jumping puzzles in mind prior to gliding and not all jumping puzzles have glider disabled in the area… I say give us options on how we like to activate glider and that should solve most of the problems we have.
While I agree that there should be a toggable option where the glider only opens on the doubletap, I do not so much care for the fact that people call it autoglider because even holding down the spacebar is a personal input.
That said, I’m all for the option
yes, you press O to open the auction house. then you list the item for the amount of money you want, or you sell it to someone who is asking for the item already.
There are good reasons why a peer to peer trade window isn’t an option.
back in GW1 there were a lot..
sorry, A LOT of scammers out there. People use items of similar icons or names and then traded valuable stuff for trash. of course, I personally blame the people for not checking the items in the trade window, but I can also see why anet would discontinue the service after so much abuse
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
On EU there is a group called GW2Community, they give shout outs on the map for the 13:30 TT Wurm, and they have like a 99% success rate. YES they do require you to use teamspeak, but thats because the boss doesn’t take for less communication
Yes, draxynnic, the bloodstones don’t dominate the flow of magic, they regulate it. it’s like the ohm on a machine. Initially they blocked the flow from magic into the world so the dragons would go to sleep. Then Abaddon unlocked it which caused so much magic to be available everyone started acting like gods. so the human gods reactivated the bloodstones, but not at its full potential. The bloodstones now regulate.. or slow down, however you like to call it, the flow of magic. One individual has access to all magic, but he can’t access it all at once. It’s kind of like having four organs, and the more you use one, you can’t use the others. So you can, say, for example, use all 4 schools at 10% of their potential, or you can focus on one school using it at 75% of it’s potential and maybe 20% of another school, but you can’t draw full potential from all four schools at once.
Now the interesting part is, now that one of the bloodstones has been destroyes, does that mean the magic of that school now flows through Lazamayberus, or has that school been completely liberated of control?
the problem with the bloodstones is, they played a humongous role in defining magic in GW1, but then the writers of GW2 sort of started neglecting it, so there are some loopholes and contradictions
addendum:
the four schools are
- Agression (physical and elemental prowess)
- Destruction (Arcane and elemental prowess)
- Preservation (healing, toughness, warding)
- Denial (magical conditions, magic stuns, interuptions, sealings, curses)
Magic is a feeble thing, everyone has it, everyone can use what they have however they like. Before the bloodstones, everyone and everything had all magic. After abaddon’s tantrum, magic got seperated into four schools, (either by intent or as a sideeffect)
yes and no.
People are born with a magical allignment, thanks to the bloodstones.
EVERYONE has magic, but the allignment dictates what magic you’re limited to.
This isn’t a hardwall, mind you, with sufficient training and some natural born prodequity, you can also tap into secondary magic schools.
I don’t remember the exact names of the schools, but I kind of come down to
Creation, Destruction / Constitution, Punishment.
from a gameplay point of view a character can access all four, but one can never master one if he spreads out his knowledge over the fields.
It may sounds strange, but even the warrior uses a lot of magic, actually. They use magic to increase their strength, harden their armor, bless their weapons, carry signets, etc. It’s not so much magic in the literal sense, but magic nonetheless.
Do note that the average npc, civilian, soldier, builder, whatever, doesn’t have a tenth, if not a hundreth of the magic a prodegy the main player has.
So to come back to your question, yes, anyone can be a warrior, anyone can be a mesmer, anyone can be an elementalist, etc. however, the average man has severe limitations to what he can do, and birthright will often dictate what path they take.

Always happy to see other people who share a love for asuran people! welcome to the club, we might at Soren Draa every friday evening. Bring your ’suran characters!

I’m still waiting to utilize the culinary applications of bloodstone dust in order to craft the highest tier of foods.
I am thinking, maybe the foods shouldn’t necessarily be much better than the existing ones, but they should be like dinner sized (for groups) and last a full hour, or maybe a full day. You know, food made for the sheer purpose of raiding and T4 fractal sessions.
maybe have a collection tied to it, too, with some recipes as a reward?
- Elonian Wine Making Course.
- Meatober Feast Chef.
- Sideshow Salad Chef.
- Advanced Culinary Applications and Theory in Gustatory Perception. Thesis in
Umami and Support of Salinity.
(yes, asuran achievements deserve long titles) - Host of Celebratory Feasts.
- Royale Brigade d’Cuisine.

as Aaron said, the sword was given to the best norn blacksmith, whom by defnition of the word ‘should’ be Beigarth. It’s just one the 205E+28 items from the personal story that was going to have a HUGE impact on the world, but was almost instantly forgotten. I don’t expect we’ll see it anytime soon again. At least not until Rytlock is giving the cleansing another chance.
ooookay…..
you okay there, buddy? having a rough day at the office? if you need chocolate milk let me know
Sorry Konig, I’m just trying to understand why are people accusing me of disregarding the opinion of others. I do not.
Human are the basic model in the game. They even are the standard in sPvP. Most things in the game are made to fit them. So they are the safest race to pick if you want to avoid any problem, from armor clipping to projectile height issues. Conceptually speaking, human culture in mmos is almost always the easiest to digest and accept by the fanbase, and GW2 is no exception. Also human are the larger PC population in the game as far as we know.
Although I personally prefer less popular alternatives, I recognize most people will prefer the human option. I still don’t see where I “disregard” anyone. Why saying that something is safe, standard and more popular is not respecting it? Do you people think that choosing the most common option is bad for some reason?
That being said, I still would have prefered they changed Divinity’s Reach in some way. I hope in the next episodes they at least use The Great Collapse under the Crown Pavillion for something action related. I know is not very probable, because the events now became permanent content, but still I would love it.
Maybe it was a poor choice of words, but it sounded to me like you meant that playing as a human means you forego all character depth and accept the bland grey model of an existential being.
I agree, humans are technologically the easiest because we are humans. But their cultures, personalities, and way to do things is just as diverse as those of the other races. Sure the ‘hero’ of the story is pretty generic, but that’s the case with all the races.
Most people follow the same human standardized way kind of sounds like you think there’s a book called: this is how humans look and act like, and you shouldn’t deviate from it. and that couldn’t be further from the truth, in fact, playing as a human may be less standardized actually because a player can better relate to their character (I’ve they think immersion is an important aspect of gaming)

The thing is, Zhaitan’s pushing and pulling was making them prepare for the elder dragon fights. It just so happened to be that Kralkatorrik showed a window of progress, at the time, any campaign against Zhaitan had yet to started. It was simply: lets go somewhere, I know zhaitan is in that direction, and then you hit a road called kralkatorrik before you arrived at Zhaitan avenue

Sry to disappoint you but your mission’s gonna fail – hard…
Wing4…wing 4…wing 4 it is called!
Take a look at the lfg it has already begun.
I don’t care, I’m not jumping on a hypetrain that’s gonna crash on three other hype trains on a mountainside.
It’s raid 2, the devs said as much. In a little while there will be a raid 3, and the devs will call it raid 3 and I won’t be responsible when the confusion starts with asking where raid 2 is
The question was: will this map of lake doric be contineud upon, and no, they will not. They made a new map for the same area
as far as I’m aware there is no autogliding in this game. Not that I’m aware of at least. You have to keep holding the jump button or press it at the peak of your jump to deploy the glider, but it doesn’t come out if you jump normally (that is pressing the space bar and letting go)
What if Lazurus is not really Lazurus but its Zinn. If it is an imposter Zinn is the only person who could pull it off.
Howard Zinn? The historian and playwriter? Him? What an odd suggestion.
Wing 4 lore is NOT important lore. It has no effect on any of the gw2 story of the past and LS going forward.
Wing 4 lore is a wrap up from GW1, nothing more. You may like that story, but it doesn’t make it important to gw2.

TBF, I love this game because it has such a complex and serious storyline, but can still manage to put in some realistic comedy relief
World of Warcraft is like 15% serious and 85% comedy relief, so I got bored of that real quick.
it sure doesn’t feel like it, but there’s also the timescale, if you play as a human Logan will mention he remembers that you first stormed into his office years ago.. years could be anywhere from 2 to 10 I guess.. I’m guessing ~3-4 years. we know the timespan between living stories isn’t realtime, even though it takes months to make the game, it all takes place in a relatively short sequence (for what’s realistic there)
YES they put lore in the raids
YES it’s good lore
NO it’s not exclusive if it’s relevant. Anything that can or will affect the story will be presented outside the raid instance as well. The raid is more of a preview or a ‘meanwhile in the enemies base’ kind of scene
Bauer double-crossed Caudecus and resurrected the real Lazarus.
I just had this pointed out to me – it’s in Bauer’s Memoirs, supported by Grand Savant Valis the Learned’s Reasearch Journal. The whole “it’s not Lazarus” is a feint… it IS the real Lazarus the Dire.
Genius trick, but someone spotted it!
Can you pinpoint it, please, I read the whole thing but I don’t see anything that makes me think the same as you. They way I read it, he’s just a grumpy devotee who worships the Unseen Ones, but prioritizes the armament for Caudecus over Project Rebirth.
The pact aren't exactly the smartest bunch...
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Amaimon.7823
OP is correct in the fact that the Pact isn’t the most efficient war machine. And with a certain person being made marshall… it doesn’t look to get any better.
Mordemoth could have been handled in better ways. One is to turn the Charr loose with flame-throwers and let them go. Another would be to let the Asura create some kind of bio-magical agent orange and defoliate the jungle, leaving Mordremoth standing there naked, covering his dangly bits with a few leaves.
Another way; and my favorite would be to capture Risen (Orr was a nation filled with a LOT of people, the Pact didn’t wipe them all out.) Then air drop them into the jungle. It’s a known fact that dragon minions fight each other and we could have watched the biggest match of plants vs zombies ever.
Still the Pact could have air dropped Karka into the jungle and let them roll around for a few years and flatten the place.
to be honest, I was confused why they chose them. They got the battlefield experience, true, but I honestly doubt they’re a natural-born leader, I mean, they’re a paragon, but not exactly a commander.. or have the right kind of experience. That said, we’ve never seen them in a position to make a sufficient assay of their leadership abilities, so maybe they’re alright, but I have my concerns, too, yes
(was that sufficiently spoilerproofing)
