This has happened to me about three times now…I try to reply to a post and once I hit “post” I get an error message telling that this area isn’t available yet or something to that effect…
Is this on my side or is there an issue with the forums right now?
wow, condition removers are pvp skills, that is like… an exotic assessment.
Yes,i only use condition removers if i’m in pvp or wvw or maybe dungeons( i hardly do dungeons anyway)
As using a condition remover in pve can and does mess my dmg for a useless skill in pve tbh,and can take away a minion i would otherwise need.As for curse shore,it’s not about the chests many ppl farmed the shelter or plinx ect.
They have all been nerfed to the point where no one does them.
It would be better to put it back to how it was and get the ppl back in.
End game area where no one wants to be just shows how badly they have nerfed it and messed it up.Why even complain about conditions if you refuse to use condition removal skills? Whats the point? I have a Necro and have ZERO issues with roaming around in Orr…I don’t use minions, thats just me, but I have used them and one less minion is not going to cripple your dps at all.
The difficulty is fine the way it is..they just need to revert the timers on DE’s to what it used to be.
lies as i know everyone has prob with the pulling and perm cripple in orr.
Also you don’t play minion master,so plz don’t try to make out one less minion means nothing.
It means everything in dps and heals you as well. Also if orr was that good why is it dead on many servers, thats right because it has been nerfed and messed up to the point no one wants to go there now.
how does that help players when they cannot even get a group to do the temples for karma gear?
all these elitist have passed that type of gear now so it’s like tough luck new players as we never going to help you anyway,we will just keep asking anet to make it harder so if we don’t do it for you no one else will do it.it’s like keep the casual players lower down the chain all the time.
First of all there is no perma cipple, don’t know where you get that from…and as far as pulls, guess you would rather enemy NPC’s just stand there and not hit back?
Look, you can guest to another server for karma gear, my server(Dragonbrand) for instance, constantly has temple uncontested…so you can give that a try.
And I will have to disagree with out again…one less minion will not make or break DPS on a MM necro…that is of course you don’t not use any of your weapon skills and expect the minions to do all the work.
I’ve gotten absolutely no lodestones… here comes another one of Anet’s apologies for “accidentally” nerfing the drop rate on precious drops. I’m getting really tired of these accidental nerfs to things that I actually want to farm once in a blue moon. I think I’ll go play some WoW where they have a steady drop rate.
While I would normally agree with you…I must say I tried out WoW and their economy is so screwed up I am not sure if it’s funny or not…
I agree, the economy is pretty screwed up, but not nearly as screwed up as Guild Wars 2 is at the moment. The economy for Anet’s games has been terrible since Guild Wars 1, so I’m extremely tired of it. Honestly, If I don’t want to participate in WoW’s economy, I really don’t feel obligated to do so. In GW2, I feel like I HAVE to participate to stay with everyone else. I can’t just sell my items to a vendor for what they’re worth, I have to go through the AH to do trading.
Wow’s economy tends to fluctuate from bad to good and vice versa a lot, which is better than GW2’s constant bad economy at least. And I just decided to quit, so I bought about 2k rares and 500 exotics and went to the Mystic forge to see if I could get a precursor before I quit… nope. There’s a serious issue when I can dump that many rares and exotics into the MF with no precursor given to me at all. I’m so done with this game, it isn’t even funny.
I suggest you stay from the crafting forums…there is a thread there that will make you sick lol.
Crafted ascended gear will be account bound. But the components to make them will be sellable. Either way its gonna be hell to gear up loads of alts in full ascended. Its already bad enough trying to get full ascended trinkets on multiple alts lol.
You actually have it backwards…
You will be able to sell crafted armor/weapons…the components will be account bound.
Ascended armor/weapons for world/mob drops will be account bound.
It is my humble opinion that the Temple of Balthazar meta event should be altered. Perhaps not drastically, but at least escorting up to the altar itself needs work.
In my case, I attempt to run it regularly with my guild. On average, we get 20-25 people to come out—what I define as a “large run”. After 7-10 tries, we’ve made it to the Risen Priest once before failing, with every other attempt failing during the escort.
Then there came tonight’s little adventure. Another guild “organized” (I use that term loosely) an attack on the Temple with 60+ people. There was no strategy, there was no coordination, it was completely, by definition, a zerg with three or four commanders acting as the head of the hive mind. Their instructions amounted to “kill everything as fast as you can”—and they won where my guild and I always failed.
Is that the answer, then? Do tactics really no longer play a role in capturing the Temple of Balthazar? Is it completely dependent on how big your zerg is? Because if it is, that’s a mistake. That’s telling me no matter how coordinated my group of 20 is, I will never claim Balthazar because I need an extra 40 people to act as braindead meatshields during the morale-breaking ambushes. And that makes me sick.
Back to the point, I strongly urge ANet to adjust the scaling on the Temple of Balthazar. Because no matter the event, the answer shouldn’t be for the player to kitten harder than the NPC’s kitten .
These were meant to be World events with all people on the map coming together and getting the job done, simple. Don’t get mad at Anet because your “tactics”, I use the term loosely, were not the right “tactics” to beat the temple.
There is no reason to call the other guild “braindead meatshields” because they managed to beat the temple while your guild was not.
The fact of the matter is…you have to fill the mobs in the escort AS FAST AS YOU CAN to complete the escort…THAT IS THE TACTIC!
lol…
I didn’t call the other guild “braindead meatshields”. But hey, believe what you’d like.
You’re also arguing that numbers > skill and organization. That may be in World v. World (which ANet is working on correcting), but it shouldn’t be in a PvE situation.
You can argue until you’re blue in the face, but at the end of the day telling 60 people “stack on me and kill everything” and succeeding in the event isn’t a show of teamwork, which, last time I checked, Guild Wars 2 was all about.
So you don’t consider people listening to directions teamwork…perhaps it’s time to get a dictionary…
Seems to me you are stuck in a “holy trinity” state of mind…what you fail to realize is that everything in this game was designed to be completed by a single class, if a group so chooses…if you want more complicated tactics…play a traditional MMO, because GW2 is not your traditional MMO.

First let me start off by saying, I personally have been farming charged lodestones at the Temple of Dwayna, I know if the drop rate has decreased then it may happen with the other lodestones, but i have not tested this.
So for the past week I have been farming charged lodestones for the weapon foefire’s essence, and i have accumulated around 35 of them. My average drop rate was about 3 per hour. Some may think that this is a lot, but mind you I had 175% magic find and im a zerker warrior, so i kill them very fast.
So today, me and about 4 or 5 buddies, and 2 pugs were farming charged lodestones, not all of them had 175% magic find, but i know all them had about 100%. Before this I noticed that i had to load up a quick patch before playing the game, nothing too big, only took me like a minute. Anyways, the 7 of us all farmed for about 3 hours, so with my average of 3 per hour, and since some of them didnt have quite as much MF as I did, we will go with an average of two and a half lodestones per hour for each of us. 2.5X7=17.5X3 (for 3 hours farming)=52.5. According to my averages accumulated over a week we should have gotten 52.5 (53) lodestones.
None of us got a single lodestone.
Lets also keep in mind the “official” as in most commonly posted average of 1 per hour. This means 7X1=7X3=21. According to the most common average we all should have gotten 21 lodestones, again, none of us got a single lodestone.
So my question to the common guild wars 2 player that has farmed charged lodestones in the past day (7/16/13 – 7/17/13), have you gotten this problem?
My question to any Arena Net forum mod is, was there in fact a major decrease in the drop rates for lodestones (charged)? Or did the 7 of us just get extremely unlucky.
And finally, was the drop completely removed from the high leveled sparks? If not we are either extremely unlucky and/ or the decrease in lodestones was enormous.
If I could get any feedback on this whatsoever I would seriously appreciate it, thanks.
Extremely unlucky? lmao…count yourself extremely lucky if what you say is true…it’s RNG/DR…no cause for alarm…

lol…
Elementalist
Mesmer
Necromancer
Mages…gotcha…that would just be weird imo…
Could definitely see guardians with this weapon…
To think I just sold like 60 molten cores.
Godkitten it.
Lol, I’ve been saving mine for ages. I knew that the CoF gold wonderland couldn’t last forever.
People will not stop doing CoF.
I like the weapon…but not sure what you mean by “scholar professions”…
will we get a refund for gold infusion?20 laurels isn’t cheap
Your infusion won’t stop working.
You lose one of the main reasons for having it.
Mindlessly running the same dungeon over and over again was not the purpose of that infusion, there is nothing to refund.
You are correct…the intention of that infusion was to sit around in L.A. doing nothing…how dare you people use it in Dungeons! Or anywhere else for that matter! The nerve of some people…
I am not quite sure on that, but exactly what would be the difference between paying X gems for waypointing and paying Y gold for it?
After all, you could just sell the gems, get gold for it and travel the same.
It seems like a weird idea at first, but if you think about it its really no different than the unlimited tools. I would buy that.

End game area where no one wants to be just shows how badly they have nerfed it and messed it up.I’m sorta glad they messed it up. Before they did, a bunch of people sat in one zone running back and forth and doing nothing else. There were two problems with this.
One, it took people away from everything else, and more importantly, it ruined the experience for people who were playing the game as I believe Anet intended it to be played.
I mean think about it. The whole personal story led up to Orr. You’re deep in Zhaitan’s territory. There are no hearts here, just undead, everywhere you look. It’s an end game zone, after all.
And then you hit that part of Cursed Shore where if you don’t have the right build or use the right weapon, you can’t even tag mobs before they’re dead. This isn’t Zhaitan’s hidden sanctum, it’s a shooting gallery for plastic ducks.
I’m sure some changes need to be made to Orr, but I really hope they never put it back to what it was.
First of all, who are you to say that people need to be anywhere they don’t want to be? Anet’s motto is “Play the way you want to play” so don’t go on some rant about “I believe Anet intended it to be played”…
Secondly…yeah, over flows in L.A. with people just standing there is so much better then people actually playing in Orr…good one there Vayne.
I know there are more people who want Orr back the way it was then there are against…those people should not be ignored…and with the planned upcoming changes to Orr and other places I hope they do make it the way it was.
Wait a minute!
…..Are you an Anet operative trying to convince people to spend gold on exotics and waste in the toilet!?!?!?
…A TP operative better yet!
I throw in my mouth a little bit…./sigh
REALLY?!?!?!?
……gratz!
Not going to lie…didn’t bother reading most of the post…but if your issue is with not being able to gear all your alts with ascended armor/weapons…you will be able to but them from the TP.
Because I do not like crafting. Will new ascended armor still be able to be obtainable through normal dungeoning methods? Or will we be forced to craft ourselves to 500 simply for ascended weapons/armor?
You can buy crafted ascended armor/weapons or get them as rare drops…but as I understand it…the dropped ascended armor/weapons will be account bound…
At least that is how I understood the blog post.
GF infusions are still great for high lvl DE’s. You are talking about a minimum 1s per mob that drops coin…thats pretty darn good if you ask me.
Orr was fun for about 1 month, and that was 9 months ago… before DR, before the event nerfs
I just want the non-stop action that used to be Orr…more than willing to deal with DR.
There are like 25 different stealth counters in the game. Learn one of those.
There are none…stealth counter = detection, stealth pop/shut down…
Managing killing a thief while is stealth is another story….getting lucky killing one while in stealth is not a counter.
What is so fun about farming? I really don’t get it.
It’s not fun..It’s just a useful way to make money. And it’s an optional activity, so idk why it’s such an issue. It’s also really helpful when you’re say trying to make a legendary and need a lot of money, and a lot of tier 6 mats….
I find it very enjoyable.
What is longer…a rope?
If a tree falls in a forest….
I hope the thief get finally his perma +25% movement speed trait.
The thief should be a very fast class but every warrior with “Warrior’s Sprint” is faster.
Are you kidding me? Thieves are the BEST gap closer’s! You don’t need any more speed options. If stealth isn’t enough for you you are doing it wrong.
He’s more likely referring to the magic find changes.
MF is going to an account bonus… This is good news for farmers. They can get the same MF bonus as well as do more damage while wearing better gear. So it is unlikely he is complaining about a positive change for farmers…
Champion loot getting boosted…
Dungeon paths being equalized to all be rewarding…
MF being changed to allow you to get good loot while wearing real gear….
New tiers of mats to farm…This is like a farmers dream blog… I honestly have no idea what he could possibly be complaining about unless he was a CoF p1 farmer.
I believe mats will be account bound.
He’s more likely referring to the magic find changes.
I don’t believe he is…from my farming experience…MF didn’t make much of a difference. Tested with armor/food/banners and with just food….seemed to do better with just food.
But he probably means Anets plans to just give out tiered mats based on the map you are on. I think those are going to be account bound mats…
Not sure if anyone touched on it yet….just kinda skimmed though everything so sorry for repeating anything…
But if looks like the precursor scavenger hunt will not be so scavengery since you will have to be 500 in crafting to make it….I personally don’t plan on doing the legendary grind again but this might dash some of the dreams of some who hoped on getting one…
How do the Thief vs Mesmer fights usually fair?
Very boring…they will just keep stealthing before they can kill each other.
Mesmer / Engineer / Necromancer are the best in the competent bracket, depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.
Very good Thieves dominate the total kitten bracket.
Fixed it for you.
You kidding? Was in WvW the other night…the thief didn’t need to busrt from stealth mind you…so here is what happened…
Was trying to get to the zerg for my daily kills…theif popped from stealth in front of me and just spammed that stupid easy flipping like a monkey skill and hit me for 7k/6k/4k then dodged and got hit for another 3k….all in a matter of 2 or 3 seconds.
How does that make a thief….“very good”?Either wearing armor when you go into combat, or not exaggerating damage will help.
My list:
Thief
Mesmer
Ranger
Ele
Guardian
Engie
Necro
Warrior
Just noticed your tag…can deny all you want but there is no skill involved in pressing a single key over and over and over and over and….well….

The system in LoTRO is very good…if the group “leader” drops someone else is randomly made group lead.
Anet needs this system so bad.
Once a group lead left after a lupi kill in arah…none of us got credit :-(. SOB!
Orr was still fun and populated up until they completely killed the events. People like stayed after they put in DR and DS(Really needed). Before DR I would get about heavy 150+ heavy moldy bags during my 1-2 hour farm.
After DR was implemented I once farmed Orr during one of my days off of work and got a total of 195 heavy moldy bags after about 6 hrs+(sad I know)…huge difference but I still stayed because the events were fun.
I still go to Orr sometimes because I like the landscape (one of the few apparently) but when NOTHING is happening why stay?
And I will not be one of the little sheep who play only where Anet wants them to play. I might be going to far…but Anet is being very Tyrannical with their game, they kill certain areas/maps simply to make the current/new areas more attractive regardless if those killed areas/maps are very much like by the players.
“Play the way you want to play” sounds a little absurd now huh?
I think what Anet meant to say was “Play where and how we want you to play or get no rewards”
Well, now I know which place is going to be nerfed next!
It’s not going to get nerfed, enough with the drama.
You must not know how much Anet hates us farmers…any drama is well warranted.
If they asked you in the beginning and kicked, well, nothing can be done. But since they kicked you for having 40 AR, and in the last fractal, yes, totally reportable.
They probably kicked you so a friend could get the reward, the AR was just a “reason” to kick you
Most likely this…apparently some guilds are doing this a lot.
I’ve already accepted the fact that I will get my first legendary in 2019.
Not even close…Anet will soon be giving out legendary’s upon character creation.
It’s no more profitable than any other current “farming” spot. I got about the same killing risen in cursed shore.
I say " farming" because “farming” doesn’t exist anymore… Anet is just going to give us legendary’s upon character creation soon.
But….since some of you used the word “farm spot” to describe the location I can guarantee you that Anet will sneak in a little patch to remove those mobs but later say that “nothing has changed”.
“Play the way you want to play” my kitten!
It’s pretty much been said…so all I will say is look for CoF groups simply looking for “CoF p1 multi runs” or something like that, they usually are pretty casual about it. Groups looking for “zerk” “speed runs” “ping gear” are usually the ones who will kick you once you make the smallest mistake.
People have said they have been dropped because they cost the group 20s…20s!
So if you can’t handle those types of groups avoid them or work on your skills with regular groups til you feel you can keep up with them.
Don’t go about playing this game expecting a precursor.
This about sums it up. You could spend 1000’s in gold trying for a precursor and get nothing or you could throw in 4 rares you saved from drops and get it on your first try.
What I did is lvl up the profession for which type of precursor you are trying to get. Craft lvl 80 rares from mats you get from drops and throw those into the forge…all the while saving gold you get for the precursor you want.
Wait…AP from GW1 count towards AP totals in GW2? Really?
I can see why they gave GW1 players HoM….but being granted AP in GW2 is just ridiculous! Wow….
If there were no leaderboards this wouldn’t matter. Anet has said way before GW2 even launched that GW1 players would be rewarded in GW2. Not sure why that outrages you or makes you upset when this was something they said before we even saw that the Mesmer was a returning class to the game.
Like I said , I have no problem with GW1 players getting HoM…but it is wrong that achievement points themselves count towards the totals in GW2…is that to hard to understand?
HoM is not enough of a reward?
I also never mentioned the learder boards in my post so don’t know why you felt inclined to include it in your response. But since you brought it up…it would matter even without the leader boards because GW1 players are getting an unfair advance to GW2 items outside of HoM (which apparently was the reward to GW1 players).
Firstly, it’s your opinion that APs should not be rewarded to HoM completionists, it’s neither wrong or right, just an opinion.
Secondly, since the maker of the two games are 100% percent the same, and had stated GW1 players who achieved certain rewards in that game would be rewarded in their second game is entirely their decision. Their motto has always been “listening to the players and giving the players what they want.” At the time, GW1 players wanted to be rewarded if buying ArenaNets second series of GW, and that’s what they did.
Simply because some GW2 players missed out on the opportunities to play GW1 in its prime is in no ArenaNet or GW1 players fault. They wanted to reward our loyalty, and they did.In regards to why APs were probably upped in points is simply because faltering numbers in the active players in the original game have dropped drastically and they want to give incentive to players to finish up their HoM and create an active fanbase for a bit longer. Again it’s completely their decision.
Both sides are going to stand firm on why or why not they should be rewarded. In constructive debate/criticism should not include jealously that someone has something that said person doesn’t.
Can you quote me saying I am jealous? Please?
Really…go ahead…try…
There is no “entitlement” for something that is deserved. In this case, the proper term for it would be a “reward”.
But back to the point at hand. Having the bonus points for HoM is awesome in and of itself. I’m just suggesting that people with maxed out 50/50 could get a little bit extra. This idea is no different than getting your Quartz node for doing 16/16 Bazaar achievements.
It’s very different, in your point of view not only should people get the quartz node for 16/16 bazaar achievements but also receive one of back pieces free…
… on top of that get rewarded during next year’s bazaar with a new skin for having completed the event the previous year…
Title pretty much sums it up. I’ve opened about three dozen and gotten absolutely nothing out of them, is my luck just that bad or am I doing something wrong?
Define nothing…
You already got additional points(Anet went to far) and HoM(Deserved). Now you want more points and more free stuff?
Why does every thread you post(Ok, just the ones I have seen) have to say…basically…“I deserve more” “Or I deserve to be the only one with _”
(edited by Amun Ra.6435)
Well this makes me believe even more that Anet staff does shaddy kitten in the shadows. Profitable glitches/bugs found immediately after a patch goes live and such.
Speaking of strictly damage, not support/survivibility…Zerk geared warriors would be number one.
Wait…AP from GW1 count towards AP totals in GW2? Really?
I can see why they gave GW1 players HoM….but being granted AP in GW2 is just ridiculous! Wow….

HoM is not enough of a reward?
Arena Net said that they would be rewarding HoM devotees in Guild Wars 2. They said all of this before any beta event, and before they even announced all the professions that would be playable in Guild Wars 2.
Remember when Sylvari were basically elves? Yeah, we knew HoM would reward those players in GW2 before they were changed to tree people. Not only that, I think the crucial bit you’re missing is that not everyone who played GW1 even got to 30/50. In another thread someone estimated that around 10% of the people from GW1 got 30/50 or better. Even less, (under 3%) even got 50/50.
So this magical figure of “OMG THEY GOT 500 extra points!!!!” garbage is false because not everyone with HoM Achievement points has 500 of them. Most do not.
You really need to take a class or two in argument, if such a class exists I would HIGHLY suggest you take it…
When did I mention:
500 points…
Mesmers…
Sylvari…
Elves…
When they announced rewards for GW1 players….
And finally…“In another thread someone estimated…” really? Made up numbers?
Again…all I said…all I really said was that points in GW1 should not be counted towards points in GW2…that’s it…nothing more…no other concept, nothing…zero…zilch…nada!
Mesmers are not overpowered.
… said in the 28 second Lubi kill thread… lol?
They’re not, it’s just they shouldn’t have designed bosses with such lethal range attacks which can melt its own HP within seconds.
This is very true…
The cheapest way to get the cakes is to have the recipe and craft them.

P2W? I concur with Buttercup. It’s more like P2Pay. Lets do a little bit of research before making statements!
You get two cakes from the recipe I believe…so its like selling one for 48s really(if your cost for ingredients are accurate)…but your point still stands :-).
