Black Lion Chest duplicate bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Ashantara.8731

Not correct, or the CS Team would not find it qualified to send out replacement duplicate Black Lion Chest keys.

I’m not sure why you’d argue about it; the CS Team will send BLC Keys for duplicate Noran’s Pass bundles. That’s a fact.

Not for me. (German) support just told me, that, because Norans Pass was a seasonal item, they will not reimburse me any keys at all because the seasonal item is now the Zaishen War Paint Kit.

I don’t know what this should have to do with my ticket (#6410348 btw if any other supporter want to take a look at it). Can’t understand why they argue with someone and make him disappointed, whos paying money at them every month (yes, I do like to open black lion chests)

Forget German support, it wasn’t very good during GW1 times compared to English support, and I am sure this hasn’t changed. The English (i.e., American) support team is the best, and since you seem to manage well to express yourself properly in English, I suggest you try their support from now on.

It almost never happens that ANet servers are busy enough to slow down the loading of the TP. If you’ve seen it happen at all, contact support so they can help you figure out what’s causing the delays for you.

I know when it’s a server issue (I ask other players) or a local issue (busy traffic in my region), thanks. Also, I am not the one who made the original post.

Human female idle animations

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ashantara.8731

Ashantara.8731

I hate even more how all human females have super-narrow shoulders, like all women were fragile barbie dolls. And don’t get me started about the anorexic body models, like women are either fat or anorexic, and if they aren’t then they must have strong body muscles and huge boobs and butts.

(facepalm)

These are some of the reasons why most of my characters are male.

…and boob shaped chestplates, OMG! “Yes, please, I’m totally suicidal and want to make it way more likely you damage my heart when you hit me, so make me something for that, armorer.”

So true! For instance, look at the female version of the Revenant armor. Really, Anet?

Not, TBH, that the male animations and models are any less the sexual fantasies of stunted teens: those bulging muscles and giant packages, completely unlike what people in the real world want, but very much in line with what they imagine “pulls the chicks!”

I’m a “chick” and it doesn’t “pull” me. I don’t care about gender, I can admire both, men and women, for aesthetic reasons — and those are the reasons by which I measure whether to pick a male or female character for a specific race (body, faces) or profession (i.e., available armor).

I for one hope ANet sees this thread and gets back to work on those animations.

Mee too.

If it is still being tracked and there are in-game effects, even minor ones… then they really should show where the character stands, so you know where your character stands.

+1

I like the Wiki images displaying this in detail. I would love to be able to check the status quo, regardless of whether ArenaNet thinks this is not of importance to the game.

Cutting things that don’t hurt anyone should be left in the game — unless ArenaNet regards this feature as a reminder of failing, but then there wouldn’t still be dialogue options (and I love the fact they are there).

But we already have that, its called Human

Well, you either make a race more “bulky” looking in general, for both male and female versions, or you at least offer the option to allow male characters to look as “super model” as their female counterparts.

I don’t think that yeti-sized feet, strangely shaped muscles and a general Neaderthal look (body-wise) should be reserved for only one gender… that makes no sense from a genetic point of view, especially since Norn boys look as “normal” as their girls.

Yea it really is a shame that an RPG game has to focus mainly on core features rather than storytelling and roleplaying because of casuals.

“Casuals”? I have been playing this game almost daily for years. Thank you for your input.

Not only are the choices still there, they use the choice system in new content. In episode 5, you use the choices to convince Phlunt to leave the lab. The conversation is surprisingly different each choice.

Exactly! But hey, what do I know? I’m just a “casual” for pointing out that I want an RPG to actually have RPG content alongside everything else.

Mind you, the concept is great. I would have loved to see it implemented the way ANet originally intended.

Yep, that would have been sweet… oh well.

Any suggestions on how to fix the problem? I’d appreciate it!

Usually, this happens when ArenaNet’s server are super busy. (Also, it could be a local internet issue, but that would normally slow down your general internet transfer speed, not just in GW2.)

I’ve had that happen hundreds of times, and I am not on a Mac. The solution is to wait it out (i.e., try again later).

Could you please add one or two slimmer bodies for male Norn to choose from?

It is a shame that one can have a normal looking female Norn, yet all males have to look like shapeless chunks.

1/4 less of arm and torso girth as well as feet width would make a huge difference already. (I wouldn’t mind more human looking shapes, either, like Norn females have.)
.
.
Edit 1: Attachment #1 shows what I have in mind:

Edit 2: Attachment #2 shows how misshapen and asymmetric the male Norns’ body structure is, while their females all look divinely perfect. I don’t mind the amount of extra muscles, but the anatomical inferiority is quite a disgrace.

2) Every new expansion should introduce gear that’s at least a little better than what was previously available.
3) “Legendary” weapons and armor should offer more than a drop-down box for stat combos… and a trail of glitter on the ground.

I agree on those two things. However, your definition of “better” might not be the same as mine.

See, with HoT we got better equipment in the form of being able to acquire four-stat armor, weapons and trinkets (which are more costly to craft). I assume the next expansion will hold other benefits, but not what you are looking for — “higher stats” is not going to happen, as it would completely break the game’s balance regarding previously released content. Also, GW1 wasn’t like that either and it’s one of the characteristics of GW the devs stayed true to in GW2 (I only wish they had done so in many other aspects as well).

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ashantara.8731

Many of the points the OP made are valid points that have been criticized by many, hundreds of times — so the “Well, Anet can’t please everyone” argument is rather laughable as it suggests that only a few aren’t happy about the status quo of those points, and that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Some game mechanics are absurd (bugged, badly programmed ot badly designed, out-of-date or otherwise insufficient). Many things would require special attetion by the devs more so than new content, and yet they are not being made a priority, even though people have been complaining about them forever.

Map Instances

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

After five years, this would be an impossible task — the whole world system would have to be changed (map completion only being one of the many things). That’s a silly request at this point, really.

And why on earth would you want that anyway? This has been GW’s style since GW1, and it is one of the good aspects of this game. Previous reponses explained the benefits of several separated maps compared to one huge world map.

Phones easily get lost and/or stolen

I have not lost a single phone ever, and I bought my first cell phone back in 2001. Also, never had one stolen, either. So what are you talking about?

Also, are you not aware of the facts that…

  1. you can (and should) protect your phone with a code or thumb print, so that no one else can use it?
  2. even if someone stole it and managed to circumvent your phone protection, they would still need your e-mail address and password in order to get into your GW account?

Your claim that it wasn’t safer than account protection via e-mail verification seems illogical to me.

Many armor and back pieces result in things “floating” rather than looking “attached” to the character.

Fixing them all would take a long, long time requiring people of their team, who currently work on new content, to focus only on these things.

While I would appreciate the effort (and welcome the better results), I doubt ArenaNet will ever fix all the item attachment issues this game has (what with several silly looking items on specific races etc.). They probably would have to make adjustments for every item in this game separately, and that is a time-consuming endevour.

Permanent Gather tool questions

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Ashantara.8731

Ashantara.8731

Yes, it won’t be changed. That is the whole point of the new gathering tools: to give people, old and new players alike, a reason to buy them by making them different from other gathering tools.

I, for once, won’t spend money on them, I get enough unbound magic as it is. Also, at this point, we don’t know yet whether there will be unbound magic in the maps of the upcoming expansion as well. For if there won’t be, it would truly be a waste of money.

Also, keep in mind that this “extra feature” these tools sport only works on the current Season 3 maps, while the watchwork sprocket one works on every metal node.

I believe that every creator/artist loses their objectiveness for their creation over time (it’s easy to get tangled up in ideas and lose yourself in them). That’s why it’s important to have quality control from a team not directly involved into the development of the product.

Apparently, ArenaNet does not have such a thing.

Sorry to say this, but Brother Mhenlo was the first interesting story NPC in the GW universe. To have a Shaolin-like fighter/healer profession in style and skill is plain cool. That makes him (and Monks) the flagship in my eyes.

Also, seeing as Anet has reduced Mesmers to mere (lame) group supporters, JP portal puppets, and raid tanks, I’d say they cannot be considered a “flagship” by any means.
