Appears to be a bug on some accounts/characters. I’ve seen a couple of posts about it, like this thread in the bug forum. You might want to post over there as well as reporting it ingame.
You know, this whole mess is because ANet does not communicate. If they had made a thread while this was in the planning stages and asked us about potential problems we could have pointed things out. It seems ANet isn’t good at putting themselves into the player’s shoes and seeing things from their point of view (traits, the commander tag issue, NPE and non new players, and now this)
They couldn’t foresee that putting EVERYONE in one map is too many people in one map and the events can’t handle it? They couldn’t foresee that putting everyone in a starter map screws it up for the new players? (They don’t have the speed boosts or wps to get to events, are maybe still melee due to no weapon swap and who are underpowered compared to level 80s). They couldn’t foresee that people would pour into non starter level fractals when they are not ready for that level? They couldn’t foresee that people don’t like being herded from one spot to the next instead of getting rewarded for playing? (and maybe for playing intelligently: dodges, condition applying and cleanses, interrupts).
Really ANet. Make a thread first before you do something liked this and ASK us if we see potential problems.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Yes, Ashen, you’re right. I view this thread as a lighthearted thread, not intended to “bash” anyone. Some do the new dailies. Some don’t. Some don’t like them. Some do. It’s all good. We have a thread for serious discussion of the topic, but this one is pretty darn funny. One of my faves so far: “I skipped breakfast.”
Neural — this really isn’t toxic. It’s sarcy and it’s saucy, but toxic it is not.
I don’t like your attitude. Reported!
I wonder what happens when you report a mod… Does it get absorbed or fired back.
Someone needs to write it down so we can claim that it was done for science.
She’s a Guardian of the forum as well as an ANet employee. She’s been granted a super moderator power, Wall of Reflection. Anything said bounces off that and hits the reporter.
Why can’t we have duplicate character names? We have unique account names. Maybe limit to a finite number of duplicates as there will always be celebrity name abuse.
One reason I can think of, the mailing system and the whisper chat. It’s world wide, not server linked. So if you want to mail something to, party up with or whisper to your friend Bob Teh Ranger, and there’s five Bob Teh Ranger worldwide, you would need to know and use the display name (Sandpit.3467 for example) instead of the character name.
Most people don’t offhand know the display name with the correct numbers attached. It’s possible that making the names non unique means you would always need to know and use the display names, for mailing, whispers and partying up with someone.

Everyone rushes to the center and the dogs follow. If the lane is full of dogs, wait a few minutes. It will clear and then you can go. It’s not like the rewards change or get worse if you don’t open that chest first.
And how do you get ectos from that?
Every time you do one of the daily achievments you get a bonus chest. For completing exotic crafter you get Chest of the Crafter which Contains 3 Globs of Ectoplasm and 2 Scrolls of Experience.
its posted in the wiki http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily
its been posted here on the forums several times
its said in the map chat at least one time a day when this achievement is made available- which is how i found out
Most players powerlevel by crafting – Artificer is one of the cheapest crafts
Most players dont like clicking staacks of luck so they combine it through the ArtificerYour avg player has to go pretty far out of his/her way on a reg basis to not find out by accident or given this knowledge.
Echo,
A geared and traited level 80 is generally much more than just, “slightly,” more powerful than a low level character and will, generally, “blow them out of the water.”
The downscaling system is better than nothing but thats about it.
Challenge accepted – hopefully tonights reset gives a good one
Good, good. ^^
For the second map, where we wander around harvesting nodes and doing events till I tire of it, I was thinking,Timberline Falls. It will be good to have company. I think I’ve got a couple of spare hours for that today.
And after that, another map maybe. Tonight of course. I wouldn’t dream of taking up more than one days of worth of your time for this challenge. I can play for a good 6 hours or so after reset today.
And by the way, you made a couple of wrong assumptions in your previous post to me.
1) “just because you choose to handicap yourself by limiting to only pve doesn’t mean that applies to other players.”
I started doing PvP and WvW when these new dailies began. I said so in a previous post in this thread. Don’t assume things just because you missed it.
2) “r read text which indicates you were there at the start of the event and still having trouble getting credit”
I’m not having trouble getting credit. I said I’m holding back so others can get credit.
3) “Sure this will go against your antizerg desire but at the same time youll get your world boss,”
I actually like zergs. In their proper place and where the events are designed for them.
4) “starter areas, except plains of ashford, have a world boss with event chains that can fulfill by do the pre events.” If I’m in the starter zone and it’s in the timer of the world boss, I do the pre-events. I’ve always done them, including the collection event at Shatterer where I’m sometimes the only person.
You make too many inaccurate assumptions about other people based on your opinion of them that you gained by a fast and careless read through the forums and not on the facts.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
You obviously didn’t understand my point when I was talking about immersion. It’s not the zerg itself, it’s how the event scaling can’t handle that number of people.
Before I could relax and play. I would stand there and pay attention to to npc’s chatter. Stand around and watch what they were doing. Now it’s “if you snooze you lose”. If you don’t watch for the mobs, if you don’t race over to where they are spawning then you won’t be able to tag one of the few, weak mobs that appear and it’s much harder to get credit. It changed the game from enjoying the event and what was going on and any lore to “mob tag”
In addition, in case you didn’t know. Events show on the map from all across the map and also with your pointer. Every single daily event I’ve done has had at least 20 people doing it with me. The event pops. People from all across the map wp then run to it. I haven’t seen one daily event so far without at least 20 others getting there within a few minutes and the event mobs being inadequate to the numbers.
Seems like you haven’t been paying attention for all 79 levels that you went through. When your a higher level than the current map you get scaled down respectively to that level, in other words that green downward facing arrow next to your number 80 indicates that your only slightly more effective then the lowbie – mainly becuase skills/traits you have unlocked however you won’t completely blow them out of the water. The good majority of low leveled players are in the eotm karma train where they bypass this if they want with the badge, land claimer, sentry kills. This is only for 1 day and gradually drops off as time goes on, theyll survive its not completely game breaking as in they wont be able to play the following day as normal. Remember complete the daily a player needs to do 3 out of 12, just because you choose to handicap yourself by limiting to only pve doesn’t mean that applies to other players.
I main a mesmer – the worst tagging class as well as I play standard shatter spec. I can run across the map to tag an event as long as its above 5% and still get gold reward, I don’t ever play in a party. Your doing something completely wrong if your not beating me, espically if your read text which indicates you were there at the start of the event and still having trouble getting credit – SMH. If you dont like being a group hit the mobs and run away, as long as you don’t leave the map youll still get credit for the event.
Im up for the challenge, please list w/e map you had trouble with and ill point you to the least likely to be zerged events.
last start zone I remember was yesterday metrica province:
Option 1- Do you do world bosses? Chances are probably yes, so on said day arrive early and do the pre event chain. Each step in the chain counts as an event counts as an event, so from start to finish youll be done with daily event by the end. Sure this will go against your antizerg desire but at the same time youll get your world boss, daily event done as well as the world events are big enough that they don’t step on the toes of low leveled players – afterwards you can go to w/e map you wish and leisurely immerse yourself in w/e event your heart desires.
Fun fact: All starter areas, except plains of ashford, have a world boss with event chains that can fulfill by do the pre events. Even still the plains of ashford has around 68 events not including fail events.
Option 2 – ( speaking specifically for metrica province so as to not to cause confusion) suppose you arrive late to fire elemental or you miss it completely – no worries stop the waterworks. There is around a total of 63 events not including chain fail events, the mass wont be at each one. As odd as it sounds at Thaumanova Reactor once fire elemental is done has 3 destroy monster events, across the map at the inquest base is another mostly avoid area, on the sides of the map there are events.
here are clues : the more remote/ off the path the event is the less likely people will be willing to travel out to it.
The easier to access or if its a defense event – the more people will be there – players like easy fast farmable events.
This is an open world massive MULTIPLAYER online rpg – your not always going to be the only player at events – get over it
Thanks for the offer to help. I’ll friend you. I’m typically on at reset and I’ll look for you then and give you a whisper.
OP said he stomped him and, if I read it right, 5 seconds later the guy was back up. The stomping will rule out downed skill revival mechanics.
The only thing I can think of legit is that it was someone else. The first guy wps out and a second guy he didn’t see shows up just then.
If it’s mining and you have nodes in your home instance, they count if you go to the one in that region. I usually get 90% from my 3 nodes. After that you only need to find one more. (If you don’t have any you can also ask a friend or maybe ask in map chat if they will let you mine theirs).
Contact your internet maybe? Perhaps you’re getting throttled because you reached a cap at the end of the month.

oh geez a week later and still going heavy on the salt
With the events it puts me in an unpleasant position, with fully traited level 80s with a mix of exotics and ascended, where I’m racing to get to events and tag the mobs while at the same time I’m trying to be nice and hold back and not do to much damage so others can get credit also. I’m not immersed in the events.
lol tell us more how zergs break you immersion with you being lvl 80 in asc/exo gear in a lower scaled area. My drink just came out of my nose and now im crying, i pictured this situation in terms of a real life ~ like this 80 year old body builder coming up to these group of 2 year olds where one stole the others lolipop so the 80 year old is im gonna punch the little kid in the face to be heroic.
Each region has 4-5 maps each capable of being multiple overflow servers, your level 80 in what i can only assume in decent gear ( for all i know you could be a traited for condi while wearing full nomads gear), I can assure you that every event WILL NOT be zerged and at level 80 you should be able to wander away from a zerg with high probability of survival. You are also not forced to leave a map once you complete a daily, your free to stay in that area ( granted you aren’t afk ) as long as you please.
If there was one thing to complain about its the mass flood of exp scrolls when there is already a flood of skill point scrolls from champ bags and through pvp reward tracks. I, unlike the majority of gw2 players it seems, don’t mind getting blue/greens/rares from chests. Unless you were to make every chest hand out a precursor they were going whine regardless the fact that they are getting extra rewards.

You’re right, this is a problematic situation. However, this isn’t really a problem with the daily so much as a problem with event scaling, which is fixable. We’ve already seen that it can be done, evidence being Silverwaste and Drytop. It’s a matter of A.Net reconfiguring the scaling of the events.
I also do agree that level 80s should be directed towards higher level zones, not starter zones, but again that’s a tweak, not a call to revert back.
I agree people should have the option to go to level appropriate zones, which means that a range needs to be given as some people have level 80s but want to level alts. If they made the daily 4 events in an area, such as Kryta or Maguuma, people could go to an appropriate level map and play there. If they made it an area rather than a single map then that breaks up the zerg.
If they made that change to this daily it would remove my objections to this part of the new dailies.

One reason to buy other skills is because different situations need different skills. For example, my guardian uses wall of reflection a lot in dungeons but rarely in other PvE areas and I use the 2 skills that give a speed boost when I’m getting from point A to point B then switch out to combat skills when I get there.
Another reason is to switch out for variety in playing. If you play for a long time and never use any but the first skills you chose, that could be boring. A third reason, if you don’t try them out you will never know if they suit your play style better than what you have now.
I’ve seen pictures of other people utility skills for different professions and it’s almost never the same as my set. You’ll never know if the others are better for you till you try them.
Currently the Bell Choir daily says “participate” which is incorrect. I have “participated” in many Bell Choir events but never completed one song. I realize that people don’t understand how some people can fail to complete even the very first song but for some reason I have never done it. (Been playing since Beta.). Idk if it is my connection or what but I follow the instructions and it still never works for me.
Yes, I have tried this year like every year hoping that something has been changed so I can do it. And in previous years I had a different computer and a different ISP.
Suffice it to say that requiring either the Bell Choir or the JP means I will not complete any Festival dailies.
Try hitting the notes later. A lot of people who have problems are simple hitting too early. You want to hit them as they get to the very inside blue circle, just as they disappear.
Yea, I’ve tried waiting until they are fully within the blue at my feet but it still doesn’t work. And I don’t want this to turn in to a tutorial on the Bell Choir – that isn’t the point. Thanks though.
I just heard in map chat that when you stay within the area of the bell choir for all 6 songs (or until the end of the event) you get credited for participation, even without staying on one of the platforms.
Very possible. Today I entered that area while the last song was being played. Was unable to join in so I waited by the snowman. I got credit and then was kicked to Divinities Reach.
Male or female? What race? Does mixing and matching count or whole armor sets only?
Human female cultural. Gemstore female Krytan (Norn, human, Sylvari) are a couple of possibilities.

Truthfully, I doubt it. I think it’s much more likely that aliens sucked you through the walls of your house, strapped you down and gave you a drug that caused’ amnesia. I suggest you go to a policeman and tell him this and demand he arrest them for giving you mind altering drugs.
I don’t know now. I bought a spare character slot over a year ago when they went on sale for any new profession/race. But the trait thing is really making me think twice. My others are fully traited so I can switch builds easily at will. Knowing how much of a struggle in time, skill points, or gold it would take to get the same is a major, major disincentive.
I’ve been wondering that myself. It’s a bit of a pain to be stopping and opening chests after each Silverwaste event, particularly if mobs keep attacking you. I’d like to know how many chests can be left unopened on the UI before they stop coming or get deleted/lost by the game.
Feedback
I’ve already said what I don’t like. What I do like
1) I do like the increased laurels and other rewards and the option to chose your reward at the end of 28 days.
2) I like the chest after doing one. That has actually encouraged me to start doing a daily PvP and do a PvP reward track. The chests have also increased the amount of WvW I do from close to zero to, on some days, do a few things.
3) whether or not the rewards or at login or after completion, I’m indifferent to that.
4) the types of dailies (events, harvest, visas), don’t mind. (It’s the super specificity and the consequences of that, that I don’t like).
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
It has occurred to me a reason that guild chat isn’t saved as it could lead to problems. Let’s say you’re in a guild of friends with loose conversation rules (salty language in chat) and another guild of semi strangers. Just as you switch chars someone says something in the friend guild. The char you switch to is repping the other guild. Seeing the chat and forgetting you’re not in that guild, you respond with language that gets you reported (and a 3 days suspension from the game).
However I’m still not seeing any reason to wipe party chat.

Best spot for this sort of suggestion. And it will bring it back to the front page, for a whole 2 hours. (tyvm forum re(dis)organization)
Who said anything about the gem shop? I was thinking maybe a quest for April 1st where the reward is something like a magical bag of goods or something and when we open it all we get is a pet rock mini pet.
Well, ok. Good luck with it. ^^
I realize I miss one aspect in particular about the old dailies. The reason to stay in one map and do more than one task. I also miss the more relaxed feelings they had.
Before there would be something like: rez, kill 50, harvest, variety, recycler and leveler. I could go to my favorite dead NPC map and do rez. While rezzing I kill local mobs and harvest any nearby nodes. Once rez was done I would stay on the map and finish killing 50, variety and harvest. Recycler and leveler was done as I played. Now there is no reason to stay on a map after you’ve done that task. Do your 4 events. Wp out. Harvest your nodes. Wp out. See a vista. Wp out. It feels forced.
And now the zerg during events. OMG the zerg.
Find an event on the map. Get there as fast as you can. Join the thundering herd struggling to tag the few, weak mobs that appear. Get credit. Wp to next event. Rinse and repeat. Not fun. It’s not fun ANet,
With the events it puts me in an unpleasant position, with fully traited level 80s with a mix of exotics and ascended, where I’m racing to get to events and tag the mobs while at the same time I’m trying to be nice and hold back and not do to much damage so others can get credit also. I’m not immersed in the events. I don’t care what the event is about. I’m just trying to tag. Not fun. Not fun ANet.
Before I would do events and a couple others would join me. That was fun. This ^ This version is not. I’m fighting the crowd and not happy to see them there.

Ok. Now it’s my ox being gored. Two fractals in the same daily set?? Really? Two out of the 4 choices are the same choice?
Please fix this mess.
Everyone will have multiple minis and one day, you’ll be playing and get a yellow ingame message.
Player characters are being suppressed due to rising population of minis on the map.
And everyone will disappear leaving only minis behind, like the smile on the Cheshire Cat.
This is December 2014. The change was introduced in September 2014. For 3 months now, players have been deceitfully promised apple pie, which of course they never got.
The pie is a lie.
There is no pie. (But there is a spoon).
That’s strange. So far I’ve gotten a precursor and a permanent hair style kit.
Ok, I’ve actually gotten junk also, but I can dream can’t I?
Some greens/blues and vender trash.
remember paragon armor in gw1…hard not to /vomit….never forget
I looked it up and now have the theme music from Flash Gordon running through my head.
Thanks.
It’s counterbalanced by the muy macho male Paragon dance. Watch it. You can trust me. Scout’s Honor. (At the very least it will get that song out of your head)
It has occurred to me to wonder if that was the intended starting area for the Tengu. I gather they were cut fairly late in the development process. I read also that where their border walls are (LA and Caledon) don’t really indicate where the city is. The area between LA and Caledon really has too much water to be a good starting area and the border gates might have been intended to be portals leading to a city elsewhere.
If you look at the map of Brisbane it connects directly to 2 starter race’s maps and to Queensdale by a cut through the corner of Kessex. This mysterious portal to the north could have connected then to the Tengu area and city.

wow how sexist :o lol, but yea I do think some of the female skins are beyond ridiculous in terms of skimpy design. The reason is obvious mmo’s for most of the genres history have been aimed at male gamers, and as such much of the skins are targeted towards a male audience, its really only with the introduction of WoW and GW that more and more female gamers have started getting into it
Sexist? ^^
I’ve seen numerous posts in both this forum and others where males say they make female characters because they don’t want to look at male butts while playing. But no females saying the same.
I’ve seen numerous posts where guys object to skimpy male armor on the basis they don’t want to see male skin where the implication it’s distasteful to see male skin, i.e. “they want to save their vision”. Where females object to female skin, it’s the disrespect that it implies, not that female skin is distasteful to see.
Maybe it’s sexist to report what I’ve seen……..or maybe the guys are being, hmmm, not sexist against other men but definitely something against seeing male skin where females don’t say the same.
I maintain my selfish desire to preserve my vision and object to more male skin
I’m guessing your male in real life? Do you also go blind from looking at your own body in the mirror? lol. I never get the whole guys being repulsed by other guys bodies thing. That aside +1 to more form fitting and skimpy armor.
I dont look at myself that way :o, does anyone look at themselves like that lol
I maintain my selfish desire to preserve my vision and object to more female skin
Does it work this way too? Why is it always guys objecting to seeing male skin but not females saying the same. While females do object to skimpy armor on females, it’s for perceived lack of respect, not “preserving my vision”.
They are doing their responding in that thread but as she said, they are reading the other threads on this subject also.
. . . though, you know nobody posting in any topic on this believes they’re going to do anything.
Actually I do think they are going to do something. If it turns out that a zerg in the starter zones is hindering newbies from doing events then I expect the starter zones to be quietly removed from the list.
As to the other complaints (including mine)… spitting in the wind imo. Why should they completely revamp the dailies anytime soon? In a few days or less, posting about it will slow to a trickle then stop. The threads will slip off the front page within a few hours to a day and disappear into the forum depths (Special thanks to the new and disimproved forum reorganization which no one wanted, asked for, and had many valid objections to).
It would take work to revamp the dailies. Not just making new/old categories but setting up new rewards then implementing this (basically admitting they made a mistake). No, I’m not expecting this to be done when they haven’t reversed other, far more game changing decisions.
This has got to be the biggest, most viewed topic without a response from a dev…
Whatever the new dailys are, they are way too easy to complete to recieve the 10 ap points. Play how you want has turned into why bother playing at all. just show up.
Just a comment:
From I dislike the new dailies

“Don’t worry — we were able to gather the gist of player opinion from the many posts in this and other threads. So if you shared, we got it. If you did not share, no worries — we have a large cross-section from which we gathered stats and data.
Of course you’re welcome to post if you wish, but if you’ve already shared, we got ya covered.”
They are doing their responding in that thread but as she said, they are reading the other threads on this subject also.
Maybe make ascended weapons first?
From what the number crunchers on the forums have said, you get more bang for your buck with weapons. Not only is armor more expensive to craft but the stat gain from a full set is less. In addition, you can farm the mats for the weapons directly, which you can’t do for the cloth needed.
Armor, one calculation: Source
“Below is the stat increase for a heavy berserker armor set (lets face it, it’s the most popular)
Defense: +55
Power: +14
Precision: +11
Crit damage: +1%
+6 Defensive Infusion slots
that’s less than one ruby orb”
From what I’ve read, ascended weapons are a 5% increase in stats. Not much but higher than armor. If you still want to do armor, heavy is cheaper than light because of the amount of silk used. You can either go by cost or how many you have you can switch a set between.
I also recall reading, but can’t find, a thread where Rangers were disciplined (banned/suspended) for going afk and letting pets attack neighboring mobs.
This seems harsh and unfair. Sad that ArenaNet would do that. How do they separate a ranger that is exploiting their game mechanic versus a player that legitimately just stepped away from their computer for whatever reason?
It would be better, IMO, if they fixed the problem at its core. Either remove the ability for animal companions to get experience based on anything they do OR remove the ability for animal companions activity in keeping players from being kicked to the character selection screen. If they can’t perma-afk and/or gain credit for doing nothing themselves = Solution.
How do they separate? My guess is
1) time: hours afk.
2) how often: repeatedly over a number of days.
3) circumventing the game’s auto kick feature by setting a skill on auto cast.
4) getting some sort of ingame reward while doing the above.
Every Ranger, I would think, has gone afk for a few minutes up to the time the game kicks them and had their pet defend them while gone. That’s not the ones I’ve seen posting threads about getting a suspension. It’s when they deliberately go afk, keep the game from kicking them, get rewarded in some way and do it repeatedly. That’s the ones who can be disciplined if caught.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
ok you guys talking about the “bots” and third party programs need to do a bit more research. they arent using a bot. with the rangers, the pets auto agro when the player gets hit. this counts as an interaction and keeps that player in game. they are making smart use of in game mechanics and are not exploiting anything. literally they are choosing to not do anything. at all. get your facts straight
I’m not surprised by this guy’s comment, as the majority of the toons I see doing this belong to the guild he is in, PARA.
My guild has nothing to do about it. my point is people need to realize that no rules are being broken and no one is violation EULA or anything like that. ANET put the mechanics into the game, those players are just using them. constantly reporting them as botters doesnt work because they arent botting.

I also recall reading, but can’t pull up a link because of the forum reorganization (get an error message), a thread where Rangers were disciplined (banned/suspended) for going afk and letting pets attack neighboring mobs.
This is a ticket where someone was afk farming and got a 3 day suspension. Ticket

My characters are separate individuals. It’s not a big brother. They don’t really all exist at the same time. We don’t all get to kill Zhaitan.
:-) Funny I was thinking of telling you the same thing: My characters are separate individuals. Precisely why they each wants to do their own daily.
My example about big brother getting in the way was trying to illustrate how each person is an individual. They each has the right to do their own daily, drink their own coke, without having another character do it for them.
I still have the same question. How does your character even know there is a daily. Only you know there’s a daily.
I don’t see how you can have it both ways. Either your character is a single individual in a game world, where dailies don’t actually exist (not in game) or your character is just an extension of you, in which case you can do what you want.
I think it’s a valid question. How do you justify, in game, that character knows what a daily is.
I really am curious.
I’m going to take a guess that it’s how people perceive their alts. I switch between mine at the drop of a hat. They aren’t real in any way, just pixels I maneuver across the landscape. From reading the forums though, I gather many people have a back story for each one and each character is invested with its own feelings and thoughts.
So if it’s ‘Sally Farstriders’ (level 10) day to play and while playing do the daily, it’s more difficult for the role playing type player to switch over to ‘Bob The Brave’ (level 80) to do what Sally can not. It’s her day and her tasks, not his. And the daily is the tasks she was planning to do that day.
Can we get Rox in a two piece? O.O
Four piece?
Pretty sure it would be 5 piece. 4 “uppers” and one “lower”
^
That worked. You need to get the “milestone buff” first then jump, die, get rezzed and run over to the poi.
It’s on their list of things to do. It’s to be fixed right after the Backward Charr Footprints bug is fixed. (first reported back in Sept 2012).
It’s no problem, really. You can use the forum search to look for topics!
(Oh, you say that’s been broken since day one? Well, ummm)
It’s no problem, really. You can use google to search for topics!
(Oh. You say you have to know the titles or the new subjects to find these threads? Well, ummmm)
It’s no problem, really. The Devs can still find subjects according to their specialty!
(Oh. You say their search isn’t better than ours and now the ones they want are buried in other stuff, like ‘Mounts, NOW’ instead of being in an easy to find format? Well, ummmm)
Can I say, working as intended?
Someone else (didn’t get the name) posted this video somewhere so I’m stealing it to post here. I winced when I saw it because it hit a few Guild Wars 2 nerves. (NPE, new dailies, trait system). There’s only so much handholding and directing the way players play before it starts to feel, idk, condescending.
You can do the 3 PvE in 15 minutes usually. For 10 AP. You have 100% sure chest if you login. How on Earth can this be bad?
That is not true! I never did Fractals (and have no mind to change that) so that is no option. Champions: What map and when do they spawn? Clueless. Exotic crafter? Sorry, but I’m not going to spend lots of expensive material for something I don’t need – and takes ages to sell without a loss.
Anyway, after today’s daily I feel a bit lost: again exotic crafter, Fractal and Shiverpeaks miner for pve? I had thought that the whole idea was to force players to see different parts of the game world. Apparently I was wrong. If there is no more to chose from, than why not set back the old pve dailies? Same variety, and everyone satisfied!
Just a comment here to Albadaran about exotic crafter. You can craft one 200 essence of luck and get that daily.
As to the subject of this thread, after a few days of doing the new dailies I like the new rewards but I’m really starting to dislike the zerg while doing the events and the whole thing feels very herky jerky. Wp to this map. Wp to that map. Wp to a 3rd map. Keep an eye on the timer, then when it says so, stop what you’re doing and wp to a 4th map and wait for that boss to show up (if you have the time to do that). It doesn’t flow organically and I’m feeling a lot more sympathy for those who complain that they got the previous daily while out playing what they wanted. In addition, I think that having dailies like dodge and interrupt is useful as a teaching tool as well as allowing dailies that people can get just by playing.
So for PvE.
1) add back the dailies you can get by just playing, dodge, interrupt, rez, etc
2) make the PvE requirements all in the same zone, not map: harvesting, events, visas, etc.
3) make it any world boss, not a specific one. Not everyone has several hours to play.
I think these changes would take care of most of the PvE complaints.

I don’t have an answer (sorry) but you can try a couple of things.
Read this thread, Unable to purchase Gems, and see if it has an answer.
If not, you can post there to bring it to their attention, since it’s one of their own threads.
Also, make a ticket with support and discuss it directly with them. You’ll get direct help for sure that way.

Then top of that page: Submit a request.
On the ticket itself, There are 2 drop down selections that need to be a choice made, otherwise you get an error. Good luck.
This is what Gaile Gray has to say about why it’s hot join and not party join.

“I just heard from the team about this, and it is an unfortunate but intended change. The alteration came about because code changes were required in order to stabilize PvP and some Instance Activities. According to one of our lead designers, the change cannot be revisited for this year’s release. Thanks for your understanding concerning this necessary adjustment.”

I think perhaps you misunderstand. The code that is used for this event is code that also is used for PvP. The code that allowed party joins for Toypocalypse was changed — by necessity — in order to stablize PvP and Activities as a whole. This wasn’t a design decision, this was a necessary change.
I’m sure if you look at this objectively, it makes sense to set a short-time event for single enters in order to stabilize all of PvP, which is a permanent element of the game.
I’ll ask the designers if they have more insight, but what I was told indicates that “we had to do this change in the short term in order to make PvP and Activities more stable” which applies to the permanent game mode.”

“Bottom line: This was not a “choice.” This was not a decision made without thought, or carelessly, or in error. This was a necessary change that stabilized the game, for both PvP and Activities.
We understand that you would have preferred that this change not be made, but the cost of not making this change was too significant to let it slide. The change was necessary and as much as we regret any dissatisfaction that you may feel in relation to it, according to the designers it must remain in this state for this year’s release.”
So, it’s in place for this year and can’t be changed but we can hope for next year.
Silverwastes and increased magic find on so many accounts might be the answer. I’ve gotten a number of exotics and rares playing there, much more than is usual for me. In addition I’ve gotten more rares from random drops than I used to now that my magic find is over 150%.
Another point for ANet to consider, the effects of a zerg in a starter zone to newbies trying to level. I’ve seen one thread about how one brand new person was having the events they were trying to do stomped over by hordes of level 80s. It made leveling in that zone difficult as they didn’t have the firepower to tag mobs or the ability to get to events before they finished.
A new person won’t know that it’s just that zone and that moving to another zone might help. In addition, many people when starting out, want to do their racial “home zone” to get the lore behind their race and save the starting areas of other races for when they make a char of that race. They want to play and level, not find the way to LA, run to there, then find out where the portals to other zones are, run to there, find out where the portal to the new zone is, run to there, then finally get to play.
It’s easy for us, with knowledge of the game to say, ask about other zones or ask if this is usual but a new person who knows no one may assume the zerg is standard and may be hesitant to ask questions, particularly if there are people arguing in map chat and being toxic.
Here is another feedback, from me: I HATE THE NEW DAILY SYSTEM!
I do not know who screamed on forums wanting new ways for daily, but I got no laurels for daily since the launch of this new system. I strongly and absolutely think ArenaNet made one of their worst decisions by modifying dailies as it stands.
I am a casual player. I got no laurels for dailies so far. This is my feedback as customer of ArenaNet (if my opinion counts).
That would be because you get laurels from the login rewards not from dailies.
And in addition, you will get 55 laurels every 28 login days (almost 2 laurels a day) if you chose the final reward chest of laurels on the 28th day.
This is much better than 40 laurels every 30 days.
Now we need a snowflake sink. The prices of the snowflakes have sunk to a few coppers now that the market has been flooded.
