Good question. I’d like to continue trading candy corn for cobs for later use throughout the year if nothing else.
Almost all exploitable spots in arah have received changes in such a way they discourage people from doing it. Some spots like penitent, have been changed literally over night after someone opened a topic on the forums.
This INSTANCE (not open world at all…what are u talking about) has not received any change.
Even if there are profitable spots left in Arah, they can be accessed by everyone…compared to this event where, if done as INTENDED, u are automatically at a disadvantage PERMANENTLY.
Sry but i feel like u have no clue what u are talking about OR u didn’t make a good comparison.
Z is talking about how someone was banned for killing ambient creatures in the open world to prevent people from farming. There’s a post about it in the thread, but if you don’t want to look for it, then I’m too lazy to find it for you.
He’s not arguing that it makes this exploit fair, he’s saying that Anet is being inconsistent with their rules, which they are. You’ve just misunderstood his point completely.
Here is the link for those who want to see what ANet says: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2l21xk/actually_game_master_can_ban_for_preventing_maize/clqr9lt

“Just going to clear this up…
GM was called to the situation after multiple reports filed from a players for Griefing.
Player’s client language was set to English
Player received multiple warnings via Whisper (Whisper) in English
Player was moved from the map and placed in a different instance of the map (in case they were actually farming something useful rather than griefing)
Player attempted multiple times to zone back into this specific version of the map, eventually was successful
Returned to previous behavior
An attempt was made to make sure that the GM got this player’s attention
After attempting to contact the player one more time in whispers and in say chat (shown in screenshot), user was given a temporary suspension for griefing.
If you are toxic, and are being so knowingly and intentionally…expect a time out. Many people have quoted the Rules of Conduct. It is enforced."
I’ve been making a set of ascended weapons for all the 8 chars I play. I’ve been working on this since they put ascended gear in the game. I’m still not done and it has cost literally hundreds of golds. If they raise the level cap and make this worthless I’d be really kittened about it.
It was there yesterday? Ok. Didn’t see that.
I’m not dead sure logic enters into the decisions about the gem store and when they offer items and for how long.
It’s really a pity they didn’t offer it like they did the zenith weapons. You get shown the full sets for both and you pick and choose which one you want for that chest reward. It still is a major grind to get both sets but being able to get exactly what you want first is better.
What arenanet should learn is that something like this (high endgame cosmetics) should not be put behind a paywall. Everyone who played for example 1000 hours of this game should be able to get a legendary, because if not a legendary is worse than a full time job and nobody wants that whilst they’re playing a game.
Make alternative ways to get a precursor: e.g. buy them with dungeon tokens, buy them with badges of glory, buy them with laurels, buy them with karma etc etc etc
If you disagree… well too bad for you.
Yay, lets all get a legendary, after letting secondary accounts go afk for 1000 hours.
I’d buy that for a dollar.
Then transfer it to my main account so everyone can know how hard I afk’d worked for it. Lol.

I guess because it was for sale in late August so they decided it was too soon to put it back in the gem store. Other than that, who knows.
No. Thank. You.
Raising the level cap just to raise it is pointless. There is nothing that anyone can’t do at level 90 or level 200 that they can’t do at level 80, besides get over that meaningless level hurdle.
Start your own list early, is my only advice.
:/
Too true. Unfortunately by the time people realize your own list is a good idea, it’s pretty late in the game. :/
I need 2 more of these. I checked Dulfy to look at the pictures of where they are and I’m pretty sure of one, but the other, who knows. I suspect I’ll have to take the list and go to each one. And then there’s always the chance it’s one I’ve done but it didn’t count because it was bugged.
Nothing more ArenaNET can do when you think about it – except perhaps add the IP address (assuming it’s fixed) of the offender to a database. I was hit four times in less than sixty seconds with two of the offending names being more or less similar. And if you read my opening comment you will notice that I did indeed block them.
You know that there is nothing more that ANet can do, and whether or not they can block the IP address is something they already have looked at I’m sure, and you know that posting this topic on the forum is not allowed.
So what is the point of starting this thread?
Block and report so ANet can close down the account, which typically takes less than a day.
What more do you want ANet to do?

The straw hat from the Hexed outfit as a separate armor headpiece.
I asked this question point blank over in the economy thread.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/I-have-a-question-about-the-economy/4456718I took part in that thread too and unfortunately the answers we get comes down too, “because, reasons”, which isn’t all that satisfying.
Have to agree. If the ingredients were chosen for “reasons” that make the item unprofitable to craft, then it might as well not even been put into the game. If, after months have gone by it’s still unprofitable to craft then it really feels like the reasons were badly chosen.
When the new update becomes available on the 4th.

Answer: More candy papers provide a higher chance of winning. The system works account wide and is subject to no restrictions. (English)
I can see a couple of problems if it’s character based and someone deletes that character or the winning email goes to a character that’s rarely used and the winner doesn’t think to log on to that char to check.
It’s an outfit, not armor so you won’t be able to mix and match the hat with anything else.
The armor you can, as well as various boosters. You can get a better 20 slot container if you exchange 3000 candy corn for 3 corn cobs with the Halloween merchant NPC. The candy corn is easy to get if you kill mobs in the Mad King’s Labyrinth, which is available to play in until the update this coming Tuesday.
I think that Guild Wars 2 should slim down the amount of worlds available and increase the max limit of the worlds. You know there’s a problem when you make a sylvari and literally nobody is to be found in the sylvari biome base.
This is likely just your time zone or the time in which you play – worlds no longer have an effect on players in your map since anet introduced the “Mega Servers”
Maps are now filled with players from many world serversSeriously? When did they incorporate mega servers?

The Deluxe, when you bought it, did not have the Legacy armor and when in August 2013 the new version of the Deluxe was released, people who bought the old version a year ago did not receive the armor as that is not what they bought and paid for back then.
The original digital deluxe bought after the game started a year ago had: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2
Guild Wars 2 Game
Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill
Miniature Rytlock
Golem Banker
Chalice of Glory
Tome of Influence
This is what you bought and got. The deluxe was changed a year later but any changes were not what you paid for so you didn’t get them.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
By paying for gems you were telling Anet that you supported their RNG model. You should share some of the blame.
Sounds like the OP used the gems to fund a legendary? If so, that doesn’t say what you speak of in your post.
However, if the OP spent it opening RNG boxes, well that’s a totally different story.
It seems he bought gems and converted to gold then tried to get a precursor from the mystic toilet instead of buying directly since he said “Also, according to my country’s currency it was 2000+g, which was the amount paid for the t6 I sold to throw in the toilet and buy the precursor.”
So, instead of using that 2000 plus gold towards buying a precursor he used it to gamble, and then lost.
/shrug.
Im level 38 right now and playing almost three days. It’s stupid that I cant attach things to mail to send to guild mates….
A guild mate has been playing 5 days but is the same level as I am can send mail….
You may thank the gold sellers, they’re the reason new accounts have these restrictions.
From the same thread:
Gaile Gray
ArenaNet Forum Communications Team Lead
“Please consider the reasoning behind the restrictions: RMTs are a plague in any game. Having no restrictions means they make accounts and deliver gold immediately. This has a significant impact on all of us players, in that we’re subjected to more RMT advertising, more invasive e-mails offering to sell us gold, and we feel an impact on the game economy from the quick-and-easy means of gold distribution.
While we never want to inconvenience a genuine player, and are sorry if this has an impact that you do not desire, the counterbalance is that it has a positive for the game as a whole, and therefore for every player within the game.
I hope this explanation makes you better understand (and hopefully agree with) the new-account trade limits."
You said you are on your second day and a friend can send mail at 5 days. In the life of an account, 3 more days isn’t a long time.
already mentioned that everyone shouldn’t have the same quests on the same day to prevent zerging.. not to mention, unlike the wbt people probably wouldn’t be doing them at the same time anyway.. also, it’s unlikely people could streamline this system into a chore unless arena net released a list of all the possible quests to be rolled.. i’m sure dulfy would have a field day doing a guide on each and every one of them.. and also already mentioned, hopefully not a system that would roll the same quests too often
Ok, not the same quests for everyone on the same day. So instead of 100 people doing it with you, maybe 20 or 30?
The question I’m asking is, how much time and effort should ANet put in to revamping the daily? Would this be well received by the general playing public or would a large amount of effort put into this be seen as a bandaid covering up a larger problem, lack of new and exciting stuff to do?
I would think that most people would prefer that ANet spend their time making new maps/skills/professions/races and if ANet spends limited Dev time making quests for the daily (that will be old and boring after they’ve been done once or twice) instead of new and exciting expansion like content, that these new quests will be seen as “rearranging the furniture while the Titanic sinks.”
Question, since I don’t do that farm. I thought that area was instanced. How was he getting into the other people’s instance to grief them?
The old story about the man who carried the scorpion across the river comes to mind. The one where the scorpion begs the man to carry him across and promises not to bite. In the middle of the river the scorpion bites the man, condemning them both to drown. When the man asked why he did that, the scorpion said, “You knew what I was when you picked me up.”
OP, there’s no point in coming here to tell us that the scorpion will bite. You knew that before you started.
Has it finished installing? You can’t access the game till it has done that.
It’s apparently not some hard and fast number but how much progress your account has made by playing. Maybe it’s some sort of combination of time played and achievement points gained.
It is actually a necessary limitation to prevent hackers and gold sellers from transferring goods to other accounts. If you play legitimately, the warnings will vanish for the mail sent to you in time, as will your friend’s as he advances in the game. I am unsure of how exactly this works, but I suppose it is a matter of how much progress in the game your characters have achieved, and not necessarily a period of time to pass after account creation.
Thank you! I was just starting to formulate a response, but you’ve said it very accurately.
Thank you for the confirmation. Wow! I’ve been in the immediate company of ArenaNET royalty!
Probably the janitor. ^^
While it’s a nice suggestion OP, the problem is that dailies (in any game, not just this one) are boring and there isn’t any real way to make them not boring. There are already the daily 5 events. Most people do those with their favorite way of grind already (champs, WvW, meta bosses, etc..). If ANet adds more events on top then that quickly becomes stale too once people have learned what they are and how you get through them as fast as possible.
Guild Wars 1 had the Zaishen quests which was that game’s daily. The difference is you didn’t have 100 people trying to do the quest with you all at once. You could solo them with your heroes if you wanted. Any sort of quests that’s handed out would have to be really random to avoid a zerg of people doing it. I’m not sure the Devs can make that sort of work for the dailies, or if they should even try.
I can’t offer a spot in my guild as I’m NA and you can’t guest to an NA server so just an observation that you will need to join the guild and represent it in order to be eligible for commendations. If you just tag along you can get any chests or exp those events offers but not commendations or the silver or rares rewarded for doing them.
Well there is one collection… ‘Style guide’ or something. You’ll get an ascended earring (Stats can be chosen) The Dealbreaker is, its a 200 gold investment to get there.
That’s kind of an odd (or maybe even worthless) reward imo. People who have the mats or the gold to buy the mats to make this sort of item are very likely to have already have earrings from either laurels or playing fractals and so don’t need another earring.
It doesn’t count. Neither dry top nor Southsun cove, both of which were added after launch count towards 100% map completion. If you check, those maps don’t have a % completion shown like the original maps do.
Every single game that has a forum has threads where people who are leaving the game post and say why. The majority of these people are unhappy in some way with how the game has turned out. They post and explain how the game has failed their expectations and how it’s forcing them to go. Guild Wars 2 has these people also.
So, good bye OP. Have fun in your next game.
If you have a personal guild bank, stick them in there in case you ever want them.
These chests come from a time when the LS handed out AP’s like halloween candy, and the chests are balanced around that. At the time, you got the chests faster, so the rewards made sense. You also had the pvp skins from the chests.
Solution: revert to the older amounts of AP’s from coming living story chapters, and add in an item into the chests that unlocks 3 random skins in the wardrobe that are currently locked.
Does this include Legendaries, gem store skins, skins that require black lion tickets, skins that require level 500 ascended crafting, the Glorious armor PvP skins, the skins that require grinding tokens or a lucky drop from SAB, the Fractal skins, the ambrite weapon skins, the WvW hero weapons, the expensive Halloween skins such as the Chainsaw greatsword, or the rarer skins from champs?
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
What in the world are you doing that’s aggravating people so much they are mass false reporting you? That’s not very common.
Yeah. I guess the first sentence should have been:
Have you ever wanted to know what your friends want from the gemstore?
The second I’m still not sure, unless as suggested by Robert, OP is asking for some way to pay for something by installment or layaway.
I don’t know about skins but people have gotten refunds on items like bank tabs that they can’t use because the bank is maxed out. I suspect for something like this, it’s very possible to get a refund. They might ask you to destroy it so I wouldn’t apply the second one to anything, just leave it sitting in your inventory.
Huh? I have no idea what you are asking.
Take her to WoW. Some Orc there will think she’s the cat’s meow.
Noooo. Not really because of RNG so much as the ones available were priced outside the amount of plat I had. A guildie badly wanted the mini polar bear and never got it though. That item is rather like the mini Gwynefyrdd in its rarity.
No, no one (besides ANet) knows.
I would just put in a ticket. There was another thread where a guy put his precursor into the mystic forge and an anet employee advised him to put a ticket in. It would be awkward if they didn’t have a way to retrieve lost items.
They do make some exceptions, for precursors and Legendaries especially. OP can always contact them and ask, but items gained through doing special events such as the Mad king Scavenger hunt is probably not something they can hand out. I remember previous threads where someone lost the holographic wings and support said there was nothing they could do.
Afraid if it’s gone, it’s gone. If you’re lucky they will put in a way to get it again.
This is talking about gem store purchases, but it also applies to ingame gear.
https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/46419166-Wardrobe
Please note that skins or partials skins that you previously purchased but which you no longer possess will not be unlocked on your account. The Guild Wars 2 Support Team cannot unlock skins that fall into this category.
I can just imagine the conversations in map chat if reset time was based on whether or not your county has DST and when.
Player 1: remember everyone, reset will be an hour earlier today.
Player 2: (from opposite hemispheres) no, It’s an hour later, not an hour earlier.
Player 3: (from a county that has DST on a different day) no, it’s next week.
Player 4: (from a country that doesn’t have DST) what in the world are you people talking about?
Or
in guild chat: missions are at reset today!
Mass confusion when everyone shows up at different times.
Or
In the labyrinth.
Player 1: Let’s wait 5 minutes for reset so everyone can get the daily for this boss.
Player 2: reset was an hour ago for me.
Player 3: reset was 2 hours ago
Player 4: reset is an hour from now.

How can the Megaservers take it into account? Different counties with different days they have daylight savings along with different counties that done have DST, all play together. In addition, the Southern Hemisphere is spring now (spring forward) while the Northern hemisphere is fall (spring back). How can the severs accommodate the 2 clocks going in opposite directions?
I don’t know, does it matter? I just meant it’s technically feasible to program such a thing, not that it would be feasible in this particular situation. I’m not looking for an argument here.
I’m sure it might be somehow technically feasible to accommodate all the different countries that start or stop DST on different days, don’t have DST at all or are on different hemispheres so that while one clock is going forward, the other is going back.
Or they could have a set time for reset for everyone. Every 24 hours, no matter what everyone’s clocks are doing; going forward, back, or not changing time.
How would a server give ‘whatever’ about DST, when all players using said server may not be affected by DST? Should it change time for some, but not others? How would that work?
Reset uses UTC time…which isn’t affected by any savings of any kind. I’m sure we can all do the math. =)
Well it’s a server, inanimate objects obviously can’t give any kittens about anything. :P
It’s just I’m sure they could program the servers to take DST into account. But it’s probably infinitely less confusing for them – considering the lack of DST for some areas, as you point out – to just let the time stay as it is, independent of weird stuff like our obsession with DST in the US.

One would of course question why people that quite clearly don’t like the game still hang around on these forums everyday instead of just moving on.
Because some of them admit that the gw2 forum PvP is the best thing they got going for them. Sad. You would think they could do forum PvP on a game they both like and play.
Not all countries have daylight savings time and those that do, don’t all have it start or stop on the same day. Even if they did do it on the same days of the year, the people on the opposite hemispheres, they will be leaping forward while we leap back and then vice versa the next time it comes around. How in the world could reset take all that into consideration.
