The skins from other armors yes, because they come from pieces of armor and those armors come with dye channels.

But the Krytan is a pure skin that you buy from the gem store and apply. It has no underlying armor with dye channels.

I think different skins have different numbers of dye channels. Some chest pieces, for example, have 4 dye channels, and some have 3 dye channels. Applying a 3-dye channel skin to a 4-channel piece of gear won’t suddenly make that skin have 4 dye channels.

If it does, then I just have never noticed that happening. I was just wondering if this dye bug that crops up occasionally had anything to do with skins applied that had different numbers of dye channels than the underlying gear. It may not, but any information the Devs can use to alleviate this issue would be welcome, I’m sure. =)

Possibly. The Krytan armor though is from the gem store and is a skin only. It doesn’t have its own set of dye channels.

Can we be honest for a second?

I’d love to know, OP, why you think you know what’s better for the game and the community than Anet.

I’d love to know, Vayne, why you think Anet knows what’s better for the game and the community when they were prepared to, and thought it was a good idea to charge 300g per colored commander tag.

Easy answer. Content is changes to the base game aren’t marketing decisions. Marketing is a whole different thing. NO one says that the marketing department is brilliant, but when it comes to making the core game better, that’s a completely different team.

Question. Wouldn’t marketing be involved in decisions as to pricing items in the gem store? I wouldn’t think marketing would be making decisions on ingame gold sinks. That would seem to be more along the line of John Smith’s job.

Since they were designing this feature in response to people wanting an easy way to use tags to delegate tasks in WvW and PvE, why would they think that hundreds of gold for each color would be part of this easy way? From chat in game, I have gathered that most people have less than 100 gold. From forum comments, I have gathered that WvW commanders are unlikely to have 300 gold for one color change much less the gold for a full set for easy use to delegate tasks. If the Devs are reading the forum comments and playing WvW, they should also know that the commanders don’t have that sort of gold.

The Krytan armor you buy are skins only. Applying the skin shouldn’t change the number of dye channels.

“Update
I transmuted my chest piece to another form. I was able to dye that form, transmute it back, and dye the chest piece pictured above. However, this process has taken 2 transmutation charges. I will need to use 6 more charges to finish dyeing the other 3 pieces of gear I want died.”

They will not tweak intro content 2 years after release?

It seems you think intro content is sacrosanct. But does ANet? They are changing other intro content. As said before, down state, weapon swapping, timing of getting skills. They already said the personal story line has been broken up into chunks. The only consideration then if the first chunk starts with level 2 or level 10. If ANet, who thinks that people can’t handle the down state until level 5, agrees with you that people don’t need some time first to learn the game before they are given the personal story, then you are right.

You know what bro, your absolutely right… It’s a copy paste of China.. here’s the patch notes for the update coming…

“Level 2: Unlock skill 2 across all weapons (Weapon skills are not bound to kills on each weapon anymore.)
Level 3: Unlock skill 3.
Level 5: Unlock F1 skill (such as Warrior’s Burst, not sure about ele’s attunements and mesmer’s shatters).
Level 7: Unlock skill 4, off-hand and 2-handed weapons.
Level 9 or 10: Unlock down state.
Level 11: Unlock vistas. (They are not shown on map until unlock.)
Level 13: Unlock 1st utility slot, skill points on map, underwater weapon skill 2. (and auto-unlock a utility skill…)
Level 14: Unlock the ability to wear green armor.
Level 15: Unlock underwater weapon skill 3, and the ability to salvage.
Level 16: Unlock guild panel. (But the button on the top left corner is already there…)
Level 17: Unlock TP and underwater weapon skill 4.
Level 18: Unlock asura gates. (This is “bugged” atm and you can use them below level 18.)
Level 19: Unlock dailies.
Level 20: 5 skill points as a reward.
Level 21: Unlock JP’s chest. (You can’t open them without the unlock.)
Level 23: Unlock bank and underwater skill 5.
Level 24: Unlock combos, 2nd utility slot.
Level 27: Unlock the ability to swap weapon.
Level 28: Unlock food and account-wide MF.
Level 29: Unlock utility food (sharpening stone/oil/crystal) and LFG.
Level 30: Unlock traits. (Potential to have only 50 trait points?)
Level 34: Unlock WvW panel. (You can pass thru asura gates atm, but they consider that as a bug.)
Level 50: Unlock elite skills. (We are level 30 I believe)
Aetherblade Armor Skin needs 1650 gems instead.
No experience from crafting, except recipe discovery.
Dungeon experience is 7% instead of 70%.
No custom PvP atm.
No skill points from leveling."

Guess what else? You gotta pay 38 gems to open an unidentified dye… take a look!

RIP Keyfarming? No… more like RIP GW2 lol

Exaggerate much?

I never said it was a copy paste of China. I said that I thought the personal story started at level 10 based on ANet pushing back other features that are part of early leveling and because they said the story is now in chunks and is set up to be “looked forward to.”

One way or another we will soon find out.

Holy litter that’s a lot of kittens. But I do like your take on the whole thing about them not touching chapter 1 and just arranging chapters 2 onwards.

You missed my edit, but thanks for reading…

Runing level 1 content as a level 10? Use some common sense people holy kittening kittens kittens on a kitten kitty kitten ya kitten kitty kat kittens!!!!!!! ….. Kitty kat kittens, i mean talk about a kitty kat seriously! KITTENS! KITTENS PEOPLE SERIOUSLY ITS KITTING KITTENS OMKG! ITS KITTENS!

If they kept level 2 as the start, that means they either took the timings of personal story of the Chinese version and either reworked it completely (a lot of work, and why would they do that for our client when it wasn’t important enough to them to do it for the Chinese client) or there is now a large gap between the first section and the second, which I assume starts at level 20.

First off the Chinese client was reworked by a publisher outside of Anet, it had to be approved/tweaked by them before they would release it in China. The way things run over their is very different, hence why the game was released over there 2 years after our release, and why they didn’t just copy paste what we have. So they may take ideas that worked over there and merge them into what we have, but if you look at China’s GW2 release, it was anything but pleasant. They will not tweak intro content 2 years after release. The content will be the same. Why do you feel so strongly that they will put so much effort into reworking their intro into the game that has been just fine for the last 2 years, just because China’s release was different? The content they are putting into the game has nothing to do with China!!!

Please do some research, you can start here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/20f1gk/ongoing_riots_in_chinese_gw2_community/

I see no problem with them allowing the story chapters of 1-10 to be unlocked at level 1. Its important to introduce the game, and seriously, playing as a level 4 in the lvl 10 zones arent hard, in fact you have allies the whole way through to then. They can do the work for you even.

Even if you rush through the whole story, you end it at lvl 5. I think unlocking the next batch of story at 20, or even 15 isnt the worst. But I do think for emerision sake, you shouldnt not have story right away.

This is ANet putting in this group of changes. They don’t think people can handle the downed mechanic before level 5. Weapon swapping was moved back. Skill unlocks were moved back. Traits were moved from starting at level 11 to level 30. With this in mind, do you think that ANet believes that the average new player can handle a group of level10 mobs at level 4?

Here he is talking about costumes but he talks a little about armor also.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/21k4j8/curtis_johnson_on_the_town_clothes_issue/
“When we started looking at bringing more of the clothing back into armor with mix and match styles there are some fundamental incompatible things between weight classes. (part of how we set up every armor to allow many dye channels and styles per piece).. There really is no way at this point over six years since we started development to make absolutely everything work together. So we needed something new to continue to grow in the future. Outfits give us a way to create highly stylized looks that aren’t constrained to armor slots or weight class".

He is saying the way armor is set up, they can’t be mixed across classes. I would also assume, even though he didn’t say it here, that they can’t be worn on another class at all, not just mixed.

This part that makes me think that new chars will get the email to start the personal story at level 10.

“As another addition with the level-up guide, we’re updating the personal story steps using our new Story Journal so they come in story chunks that unlock all at once per chapter. When a story chapter is unlocked as a level-up reward, you’ll be able to play straight through the entire chapter from start to finish and not have any awkward starts and stops that throw off the storyline. In this way, story chapters become another big moment to look forward to earning and unlocking as your character levels up.”

They want people to be able to play that segment of the story line from start to stop. The awkward starts and stops they are referring to are people stopping the progress of the personal story to level enough to do the next step. In order to remove the “starts and stops” the person has to be of high enough level to tackle the final instance of the segment.

Most people who aren’t familiar with the game are not going to take a level 2 char and play through the level 10 instance. If you play straight through, you are only level 4 at the end. They don’t know the shortcuts. They don’t know the skills. They probably don’t know how to strafe. They’re noobs. Since ANet wants them to be able to play each section straight through when they get the notification it makes more sense for the personal story to start at level 10. At that level by the time they hit the level 10 instance they should be level 13 or 14.

Obviously, If it’s going to come to in chunks now then it has to have stopping points and breaks in it. Why is a stopping point after you get out of the tutorial harder to believe in than a stopping point after level 10? Each will have a break in the pointer leading to the next step. When you get out of the tutorial the scout NPC can still direct you to the hearts. The break can be that after you do one heart you don’t get the mail that sends you off to Divinities reach. That can come when you ding level 10.

As to why level 10, it’s already set up and ready to be ported in. They’ve been testing it on all the people who bought the Chinese client. They know how well it works. Bugs have been removed. Why should they then completely rewrite the timing of when you get each separate stage of the personal story just for us? If the first step is changed, then the timing of each following step has to be changed also.

The other parts that have been changed have been pushed back. If weapon swapping, downed state, traits, etc. are all later then why wouldn’t this be?

It’s even easier to keep it as it is for the intro chapter, and it makes complete sense. You don’t plop someone into this game without even an intro… lol but you can think that makes sense…

Well have fun running lvl 1 content at lvl 10 then… and you better make sure your lvl 90 when you run lvl 80 stuff too… I’m glad you don’t work for Anet. You would fit right in with China though… lol

I never said I wanted this new update. If you look at my past posts over this last 2 days you will see I’m critical of it. What I’m saying is this is how I think it’s going to be put into the game from how it is in China and how ANet is bringing these gaming elements over from that region.

However, if you are just posting to be rude now then there is no further reason for us to discuss this.

what did I say that was not in that post or a logical inference?

WvW and PvP: buttons for immediate access removed till levels 18 and 22

As it was full stated…

“WvW and PvP will be messaged to players via the level-up notification system at levels 18 and 22, and the buttons in the top left will be hidden until then, but experienced users can use the portals in Lion’s Arch or use hot keys to access those game modes immediately.

If the story is available at level 2, then there is no “big moment”. No “looking forward to earning and unlocking it”.

The big moment at the start of the game is the intro into the game and learning the basic mechanics through Chapter 1 story line.

I’m not sure why everyone is thinking it has to be level 10… So let me get this straight, everyone thinks that once you create a new character you skip the intro and part 1 of the first chapter until level 10? And just randomly pop into the game? That makes no sense…

The intro leads into the first part of chapter 1. First chapter is content for level 1-10… so you have to be level 10 to play level 1 content? What??? And so to play Chapter 2 (lvl 11-20) you need to be level 20? That’s completely backwards.

Chapter one part 2 leads you to your first scout and your first heart to get you started in exploring the game. To remove this until level 10 would make absolutely zero sense and would actually negatively impact what they are talking about doing in the update.

It makes much more sense for you to unlock Chapter 2 at 10 since that’s for 11-20 content. Everyone is taking what they are saying out of context, speculating, and panicking before any real details is released.

Obviously, If it’s going to come to in chunks now then it has to have stopping points and breaks in it. Why is a stopping point after you get out of the tutorial harder to believe in than a stopping point after level 10? Each will have a break in the pointer leading to the next step. Carrots can also come from variegated taproots (level 40 to 60) as well as taproots (15 to 40). Since Dry Top is a level 80 zone, they most likely required mithril or orichalcum tools regardless of how they are named. (Possibly the nodes are misnamed. Or possibly those are the new level 80 carrot nodes).

Been there. Done that. (Several times now already thank you very much).

I look longingly at the map where a white rabbit tempted me to follow it down the rabbit hole. Where the endlessly burning forests stood. I can peek through the hole in the wall in the Hall of Monuments but I can get out (invisible wall added, darn ANet >.>) I remember the frozen lake with the dragon frozen inside. The frozen waves of jade. The deserts and plains. The Monastery. Wardens. Tengu and kappa.

So close. So out of reach.

I feel not only nostalgic but worse, I feel claustrophobic.

Well, I don’t have the gold to send you. How about farming?

If you go to Brisbane for example, there is lots of iron and soft wood. Iron ore sells at the moment at 1.19 silver so one stack sells for 2.97gold. Soft wood is 1.25 silver so one stack is 3.125 gold. Gendarran fields is also good for soft wood and iron.

If you have alts you can run those maps, switch and farm again. Trait yourself for vitality and toughness as you’re not really interested in fighting but harvesting and moving on. Use whatever speed boosts you can. Use food that gives you toughness or healing (mango pies for example).

Even if you make only 5 gold a day doing this (and if you switch alts and farm heavily I would expect you to make more that that) it will only take you 10 days.

Traits: moved from level 11 to level 30
Downed: moved from level 1 to level 5
WvW and PvP: buttons for immediate access removed till levels 18 and 22
Weapon swapping and skill unlocks “been moved a bit to fill in better with the progression of mechanics we’ve established.” (I think we can assume here they have been moved to higher levels).

Are you seeing a trend here? I feel I am.

So what did they about the personal story.
“we’re updating the personal story steps using our new Story Journal so they come in story chunks that unlock all at once per chapter.”
“In this way, story chapters become another big moment to look forward to earning and unlocking as your character levels up.”

If the story is available at level 2, then there is no “big moment”. No “looking forward to earning and unlocking it”.

If they use the China version, then it’s a system that’s already made up, it’s been debugged and tried out with that player base. It’s much more likely they will use this rather than making a brand new and different system for us.

You took most of your quotes out of context, and made your information inaccurate… I can cover some of what you quoted me on, please read the full article, and don’t put a period in a quote where there is a comma, and don’t chop off a quote…

“For experienced players, most systems are still available as they are today; we will simply introduce these systems more gradually to new players and allow them to learn our game at a reasonable pace. For example, WvW and PvP will be messaged to players via the level-up notification system at levels 18 and 22, and the buttons in the top left will be hidden until then, but experienced users can use the portals in Lion’s Arch or use hot keys to access those game modes immediately.

Also some of your information is straight from China’s release, and not even mentioned in the article…

Hmmm. I’m not seeing where my quoting was inaccurate but let’s look at the whole posts then.

Traits: already in game. Do you really need a quote for this?

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-fresh-start-the-new-player-experience-in-guild-wars-2/
Personal story:
As another addition with the level-up guide, we’re updating the personal story steps using our new Story Journal so they come in story chunks that unlock all at once per chapter. When a story chapter is unlocked as a level-up reward, you’ll be able to play straight through the entire chapter from start to finish and not have any awkward starts and stops that throw off the storyline. In this way, story chapters become another big moment to look forward to earning and unlocking as your character levels up.

As I said above: If the story is available at level 2, then there is no “big moment”. No “looking forward to earning and unlocking it”.

Downed state: moved from level 1 to level 5
Weapon swapping and skill unlocks: moved to a different level, probably higher as they have “been moved a bit to fill in better with the progression of mechanics we’ve established”. If the other features have been moved to a higher level and these have been moved also to “fit in better” then it’s safe to say they have been moved to a higher level also.

“Some systems have been layered further along the leveling progression and will become fully unlocked when you reach those levels to help give players more time to learn the core game systems. For example, rallying from the downed state can be overwhelming to a brand-new Guild Wars 2 player. We’ve moved the downed state to unlock at level five so players have time to learn the basics of combat before they experience this system. We also made the downed state give you additional health early on to help make it easier to learn. As we layered in systems and new rewards across the levels, some other features like weapon swapping and skill slot unlocks have been moved a bit to fill in better with the progression of mechanics we’ve established.”

The part of about WvW and PvP, I’ll give you that. I should have made it clearer that this was something restricted to all new accounts. It is though another instance of them making something that was previously immediately and easily available and to all before this, more restrictive. This then fits in with the point I was making. New accounts will have those button locked and very likely won’t know about the hot keys or the LA portals. This makes a barrier to them easily getting to these areas, both by accident or on purpose.

Other than that point then, what did I say that was not in that post or a logical inference?

What did I say that was from the China release and not even mentioned in the article?

But the incident which I referred to in my OP wasn’t a disconnect (well, not one that booted me out of the game and gave the error message that seems to be doing the rounds of late).

That’s the point. At times the client loses connection for a few seconds, not enough to force a boot out but enough to mess up with the data synchronization between client-server. I believe there is a “tolerance” time before the client kicks you out due losing communication with server, if client regain contact with server before that time ends it won’t boot you out, but odd stuff like that can happen.

The “other self” isn’t visible to others and I only noticed it from how my mini pet acted and from me dying suddenly for no obvious reason.

Yeah it happened to me a few times, people couldn’t ress me and a few times I couldn’t ress others. Good point about the mini, thinking about keeping it always up for when these odd moments happen :P.

That’s one of the reasons I keep a mini pet out at all times. I lag a lot sometimes so I keep an eye on it. If I’m running along and see the mini standing still way behind me then I know I need to stop running till it catches up. If I go to a node and can’t harvest it and see the mini pet is standing over to the side by several feet I know the game thinks I’m over there even though I’m by the node and I’m getting the prompt to harvest it. (Weird, I know). Sometimes if you stand long enough the mini will run over to you but it’s usually faster to go to character select and back. That resets the game and you reappear where the mini was standing.

Sorry. Support doesn’t read the forums. They are working on tickets. For Gaile Gray who staffs this forum, it’s about 3am.

Your friend needs to run a security sweep of his computer. Then change the password on his email.

After that he can contact support.
Top of page-support. Top of page-submit a request.
There are 2 drop down buttons that need options chosen

It may take a couple of days to get his account back.

Once he gets his account back, he can ask for an account restoration if he has never had one before. This is a rollback to a point before the hack. He will get his stuff back in his account, but not stuff stolen from any guild banks.

He needs to make sure his computer is clean before the restoration as it’s normally only given once.

Power or vitality attributes for my gear?

I put a lot of power on the armor and weapons but then started balancing it out by adding defensive stats on my traits and trinkets.

You will always need the power so I think gear, which is permanent, is best for that. If you put the defensive stats on your traits, you can shift them around for free as needed.

What’s really peculiar, the thread Happiest of Birthdays To You Gw2 got 4 red posts but none here to tell us what time the birthday celebrations are going to start.

Most peculiar.

Happy birthday ANet.

The party was superb. We must do this again next year.

(In fact, I know we will)

I’ll take one Tengu. Have no idea what profession they might come up with so I’ll leave that blank.

If they do have Tengu I hope the armor doesn’t completely cover the feathers.

And that’s why I’ve bee playing Guild Wars 1. The Guild Wars 2 birthday celebration is going on there.

What event are they having?

Sad. A game on life support has a big birthday bash and the main game gets…… A birthday vender. Who has nothing to vend.

The event from april is still going on? WOW LOL

Lol. No. But they did have a big birthday bash.

It’s the comparison between the two.

Random fact that may or may not have to do with why things are the way they are:

The majority of the current developers of GW2 had nothing to do with GW1. It wouldn’t even surprise me if half of the GW2 devs never even played GW1. The majority of the developers of GW1 left ArenaNet while GW2 was still in development.

Think about it, why else does GW2 lack that Guild Wars feeling that GW1 gave you?

It’s sort of like the difference between a small town and a big city.

The Devs in Guild Wars 1 took the time to celebrate with us. It was more intimate and meaningful.

Here it feels like they are rushing from place to place. Got to do this. Got to do that. They don’t seem to understand the importance of building a community. Of taking time to mark the important anniversaries.

Imo, while the birthday blaster was a nice gift, the others were…… well, they almost like an afterthought, or even commercial. Leveling scrolls (again!) for which most people will need to buy character slots to use. Soulbound skill points (really???). Birthday boosters (nice but utilitarian. Sort of like getting socks).

There is a distinct lack of lightheartedness surrounding this birthday. It’s as if they wouldn’t have bothered with it if people hadn’t so obviously expected something. It was a chore. Something to be ticked off a list. So they went to a meeting and got the chore done. The item on the list was ticked off.

No celebration. No special events. No special drops. No birthday quests. Just an emailed present with several of the items identical to last years.

Happy birthday, ANet.

(sigh)

Question: Regarding Server Capacity

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Astral Projections.7320

As to your answer OP, I’m afraid no one knows. The servers’ capacities are increased when a number of them reach full and high but when they do this is up to their calculations.

They might do it sometime “soon”, as in within a month since 4 are full and the rest are very high. You’ll just have to keep checking I’m afraid.

And please ignore the other person. That’s was a bit much and completely uncalled for.

Question: Regarding Server Capacity

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Astral Projections.7320

Not likely. People that want to bandwagon onto Full servers for easy rewards, perhaps such as you, are the entire reason Anet changed the reward structure for this WvW tourney. Quite frankly, I dislike people like you as you jump ship as soon as there’s a hint of rewards if you can place highly. Instead of working on your current server’s standing, you bail out and want to get onto a server where you dont have to do any work.

Wow. Way to make negative assumptions on no evidence.

Open mouth, insert foot.

Update: apparently, in the Chinese version of the game, you don’t get a key until the Level 20 story.

key farm is dead. i don’t care…never did it.
as long as the same number of keys are available as PS rewards (but at higher levels), i’m fine with that.

BL tickets skins go up a little in value….to properly reflect the cost it would take to get them buying keys off the gem store (which hopefully becomes a guaranteed scrap every chest).

How about 400 gold plus for one weapon in the absence of key farmers and no changes to the drop rate?

Average drop rate % of scraps has been 20%. This means an average of 50 keys to get 10 scraps.

4200 gems are needed to get 50 keys at 2100 gems for 25. That’s $52.50€
At this moment
Buying gems with gold: 14.85gold/100 gems
Selling gems to buy gold: 9.92 gold/100 gems

If someone buys 50 keys with $52.50€, then to break even if he wants to sell the skin he has to sell it for at least 416.64 gold (4200 gems/100 × 9.92gold) to make as much as he could have gotten by selling the 4200 gems directly to get gold.

If someone buys the gems with gold, he will need to spend 623.70 gold to get 4200 gems (14.85 gold x 4,200/100)

This means at the current gems to gold conversion, the lowest price for new weapon skins in the absence of key farmers is 416.64 gold.

WvW and PvP: buttons for immediate access removed till levels 18 and 22

haha never

you get only a message at this lvl to show you this buttons and how you gett access
i can not believe arenanet would be this stupid to not allow palyers go pvp before this lvls^^

95% from all pvp chars are lower than this lvl – they would so kill spvp

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-fresh-start-the-new-player-experience-in-guild-wars-2/
Once the buttons are unlocked for one character on your account, they’ll be visible to all future characters as well.”

Yep, the buttons are hidden for brand new players. Even if they know about WvW and PvP, they still have to track down the portals in LA.

It’s a possibility of course, but the thing about key runs is that for them to be profitable, they were done fast.

If someone has to run to the crafting table after the tutorial, craft one profession to 400 (we’ll assume cooking here) to get 7 levels then another crafting to get one more level to reach level 10 then that takes both money and time. They will then need to do the key farm.

Once is one thing. Doing this repeatedly is another.

This was a clever thought though. I’m not sure it’s practical for repeated key runs at current weapon prices We’ll have to see if it becomes feasible. It might become an option if weapon skin prices rise high enough.

I was thinking you might be able to do most (all?) of the leveling by refining materials. For example, just do the easy parts for each of the 8 crafting professions.

It’ll cost a few gold, but buying a key outright costs 13g (gold -> gems -> keys in bulk) at the current exchange rate.

That’s a possibility.

I chose cooking as an option because you can do it with mostly heart mats. http://www.gw2crafts.net/cooking_karma.html which is relatively cheap and gives you 7 levels. If someone is doing this repeatedly, it might be cheaper to depend on karma mats rather than buying the low level mats.

Or possibly both depending on the prices at the time. Low level crafting on a mix of crafting professions and finishing up with cooking.

I’m not sure where everyone is getting this level 10 requirement from. Just because that’s how it was on China’s release, doesn’t mean that’s what they are doing here. They never stated any specifics. For China’s release it was also “level 35 for wvw, level 45 for pvp”, but in the update news they stated:

“For experienced players, most systems are still available as they are today; we will simply introduce these systems more gradually to new players and allow them to learn our game at a reasonable pace. For example, WvW and PvP will be messaged to players via the level-up notification system at levels 18 and 22, and the buttons in the top left will be hidden until then, but experienced users can use the portals in Lion’s Arch or use hot keys to access those game modes immediately.”

So essentially nothing is really changing there… they are just making things more aesthetically simplified for newer players. So don’t go jumping to conclusions that they are going to remove our favorite past time…

I rez when possible but in PVE the way agro is set up, rezzing someone moves you to the top of the agro table.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aggro
“Enemies value attacking a player character performing a revive on a downed ally, to the point of sometimes ignoring any other factor, while stopping the revive will then draw their attention back to the classical threat sources.”

Since rezzing people roots you, making it difficult to stop if attacked and since it makes you a prime target for the mobs, attempting to rez someone in the middle of an event can easily get you killed.

In WvW, I would think that stoping to rez someone in the middle of a fight is also likely to get you killed.

We have a few people on this thread who feel this is a good thing, either because they don’t like key farming or they think the weapons skins are undervalued because of key farmers and that bringing the prices up is a positive thing,

But what happens to prices to weapon skins if there are no key farmers and the drop rates of the scraps is unchanged?

How much will new weapons cost in the future?

(This is a worse case scenario that assumes no key farmers. If the personal story starts at level 10 and if it can take ~ 5 hours to get to level 10 at ~2 levels per hour then key farming is going to drop down to essentially zero. It also assumes no changes in the drop rate of scraps)

Average drop rate % of scraps has been 20%. This means an average of 50 keys to get 10 scraps.
4200 gems are needed to get 50 keys at 2100 gems for 25. That’s $52.50€

Buying gems with gold: 14.85gold/100 gems
