If you don’t want to pay the going price for a superior blood lust sigil, they can be made cheaply by making a Mystic battleaxe and salvaging it.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Battleaxe
One eldritch scroll: 50 skill points
5 orichalcum axe blades: farmable
5 orichalcum axe handles: farmable
30 mystic coins: if you don’t already have a bunch of these, they are dead cheap. At the moment buy price is 90 copper.
Since some people already have 64, it would be hard to lower it. And truthfully, I don’t see the why they would bother to do something like this.
Maybe it’s some sort of glitch related to the ddos attacks. I would wait a day or so. If it continues, maybe do a client repair and if that doesn’t work then contact support.

I have a feeling that when they are in the midst of an attack, resetting an event is not on their minds right then.
Imo, what people want is someone to talk to. Posting here is like posting on a faceless wall, hoping that someone on ANet’s side is there.
Imo, what people want is a person whose job it is, is to talk to us. A forum Liason for example. By that I mean someone who drops in to the forum and simply chats and answers questions. Not on a daily basis. There would be too much burnout for that. But maybe on a weekly or monthly basis. A lot of overexcited anger and speculation could be put aside if people know that in X more days, they can ask someone directly about the issues concerning them.
A forum Liason can handle the perennial questions that come up, such as the precursor scavenger hunt. Even just saying, we tried to do it but it didn’t work out would help. Even better if s/he was empowered to say why.
Granted, such a person would have to have a thick skin but i think it’s worth it.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I can see one problem. In PvP thieves and rangers get extra damage from attacking the back. A jellyfish has no back. This would make them OP and immediate nerfs would come their way.
“Bosses – whether they be world, or dungeon – should have chances to drop exotic, and even legendary, items. The chance should be high enough that we shouldn’t have to repeat content more than two or three times to get it.”
So, 3 times max on a world boss to get a Legendary item. There are 24 big events with chests (including temples) http://us.gw2stuff.com/en/events/us. if a legendary drops every 3 events, for everyone in those huge mobs of people doing them or heck, even just an exotic, what would this do to the prices?
I really don’t think OP has thought through the implications of what he has just said. Exotics, ectos from exotics, runes and sigils, would flood into the market from everyone selling those drops. Prices would drop like a stone. Good for those buying. Not so hot for those selling.
How long would people play the game if exotics were worthless vendor trash and a few days of doing world bosses got you all the Legendaries you could possibly want?

Generally, I think people overact about those small clipping issues. GW is really the only community so sensitive toward clipping. You can find this in almost every game because it is very hard to fix. Anyway, I don’t even see clipping as a problem, I just ignore it and think it’s a part of games since the first games with polygons appeared.
Also the stuff like the ‘new human female walking animation’ – I watched a video and haven’t even noticed a differfence, even after watching it several times and reading a description.
Really, just stop with all the complaining and enjoy the awesome armor skins we receive from Anet.
I made a post on the Game Bugs Forum and I really don’t think it is a “small clipping issue” as you can see on my screenshots. And this issue is very easy to fix, they could remove the neck ornament or even make it part of the helmet so when you turn the helmet off it disappears too.
This is easy to fix?
Remove the neck ornament: it’s already been sold to who knows how many people. Many of them either like the collar or are not bothered by it. Remove the collar and annoy all those people? Not likely to happen.
Make the collar part of the helmet: this would require a complete redesign of the costume. Or a complete redesign of the toggle to add the collar to the toggle. Either way, this is not an easy fix. Complete redesigns are never an easy fix.
I decided I wanted a Norn necro instead of my Sylvari necro because of the cool face masks the Norn have. I kept my level 80 Sylvari, made her a mule, and made a Norn instead. It didn’t take that long to reach 80 again. A bit tedious going through all the low level zones again but worth in in the end. I get random strangers whispering me how good she looks. ^^
A green tag on a green background?
Very likely there is no green because the difficult in seeing it. The colors were undoubtably chosen to contrast against the map’s colors for ease of seeing them.
If you just want to change your warrior’s appearance, the total makeover kit is better than deleting and remaking.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Total_Makeover_Kit
In addition, you will have access to more faces, hair styles and hair colors than at character creation.
If you want to change to a Norn or other race, then yes, you will need to delete and remake.

Truthfully I don’t see how having to take the time to push 2 buttons rather than one gives anyone an advantage. Imo you can use it anywhere you like. If ANet doesn’t object, it’s no one else’s business.
i doubt their final answer is going to be “yeah, our servers were attacked, and yes, you were dropped because of this. but no, we cant remove the debuff because its obviously your fault.” i mean, they could say that, but they have control over these things. i dont think theyll ever include an asterisk in their explanations stating “unless our servers are attacked and its completely out of everyones hands” but in the spirit of community service, no?
The quote says they are unable to remove the debuff. What they are saying there is they don’t have the tools, the ability, to do so. At that point, it doesn’t matter whose fault it is. If they can’t do it, they can’t.
Unfortunately, you will need to let it expire naturally. Support does not have a way to remove this so contacting them will not help you.
https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/61078147-The-Dishonorable-Debuff
How do I get rid of it?
The only way to get rid of the Dishonorable Debuff is to wait 72 hours for it to expire. If you gain another flag for dishonorable gameplay while you are flagged, the timer will be reset, extending the time your account may be subject to the Dishonorable Debuff. The Guild Wars 2 Support Team is unable to remove dishonorable gameplay flags or otherwise alter the Dishonorable Debuff.
Perhaps you could make a thread on the PvP forum about it?

Our map lost out on Teq and Karka. Karka literally when she died, the whole map DC’d. :/
Armor by its nature is very hot, heavy and hinders air circulation. Sufficient air circulation is beneficial in curbing the incidence of certain types of infections. Even men should be glad they are wearing skirts in such a hot and humid environment.
I wish they would do this too. They can already be converted one way. Why not have an option to buy pristine relics from the NPC with fractal relics?
You get in trouble for having one key press do more then one thing. Like having one key do skills X,Y, and Z in sequence. Not for pressing 2 keys to do one action. They allow modifiers in the keybindings, which is 2 key presses for one skill. For example 1 can be skill 1 and shift+1 can be skill (any other).
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/news/1043-macros-multi-boxing-and-guild-wars-2/
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
“This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok.
You cannot program a macro to performs the same or multiple actions on more than one account at a time.
You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere.”
The shoulders and neck frill are fine on Asura, but the other races……
I tried it on my Sylvari, my Charr, my Norn, those shoulders (shudders). Huge. Huge. Huge.
(Did I say they were huge? They are)
ANet needs to either tone down the shoulders or look into the scaling on the races. Giant and floating shoulders are soooooo last WoW.

It’s been a few months for me. I remembered they respawned but not the time and based it on when I think, stuff liked trees and metal nodes respawn. I think those take an hour. The pristine spoor nodes might be lot less. But I was switching between alts to farm them at the time so I had no reason to notice respawn times.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Yeah. The wiki says they are in a number of maps, but I think they are in Kessex the most.
They aren’t in Kessex? Last time I was in that map they were there and they respawned about an hour after harvesting.

You can post his ticket number on the stickied thread Tickets for review-3 days and older for Gaile to review one last time.
Or update this thread and post it, she reads this forum pretty much daily.
What sucks is originally we were promised that you’d be able to play with people from the other region. Here’s an old FB post (this is what caused me to pre-purchase the game). Too bad they went back on their word.
Well, not exactly. There is nothing false or untrue about what they said. You can play with your friends. Buying a NA version or an EU version does not stop you from playing on another region’s server. The game requires you to transfer or to buy a second account, but it doesn’t stop you from playing with your friends. That saying, I can see how someone who only read that statement would think that it would be easy to do so.
If you are going to solo, and are willing to spend the money, you can buy the mercenaries. This allows you to use other level 20 chars in your account as heroes. It’s a very nice feature to get the exact set of hero professions you want and to have a team composed completely of heroes. Better then henchmen since they are fully customizable with gear and skills as well as having the option to let you manually use their skill.
I’m surprised no one mentioned it here yet: Edge of the Mists!
K-train like crazy, yielding lots of loot and champ bags, WxP and XP, …
He says he is doing EOTM already and is looking for other ways.
Another problem is a trial person can be hacked and the account used to sell gold. That gold seller can then get the account banned, leading to the original referring person being sanctioned.
Or maybe they could bring in the long ago promised, Bar Brawl. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bar_Brawl
But after 2 years, I think we can put this hope in the trashcan. :/
Try to do Teq when you can. It gives a lot of karma. You can get karma consumables from the chest as well as karma from the events. Obviously the final amount will vary but the one time I noted down my before and after karma, I made 18k karma

Could you possibly have deleted, remade and forgotten? I knows I did that with my Mesmer. The year rolled around, no birthday present. I had to sit and think a while before I remember I had deleted and remade her a couple of months into the game.
I don’t see how OP’s display name is different than any other. I mean, look at mine. Astral Projections: to send your spirit out of your body to roam around. Mine is based on my Spirit Lord Ritualist in Guild Wars 1, but if you don’t know the background it sounds kind of spacey and ‘new age’.
If you look at all the display names you will see a wide range. From ones that look like a real person’s name to what looks like a jumble of letters to fantasy names. Really, it’s only because you (OP) know the background is any reason to think it stands out from the others in terms of silliness.
I rather doubt guilds really look much at display names. There’s too much of a range and many people have chosen them almost randomly, anxious to get into the game and start playing.
I put it on my Asuran guardian. It looks great on her and it dyes so nicely. With some of the dyes on the metal part, you can get a very nice 2 color effect. I picked a brownish green, I forget the name, and it made the details color separately from the background.
I do wish the game had some way to remember the dyes you use on each outfit so that when you swap to another outfit on a particular char, it has the dye combination you picked for it still there.

Wow. Finding any information on new account restrictions is impossible.
The minimal information I found
- new accounts do have restrictions.
- These taper off. No time has ever been listed, either by amount played or by number of days.
- It appears new accounts can sell before they can buy.
- this measure was put in to hinder gold sellers.
Sorry, was unable to find any listed time before you can use the trading post. My guess, a few days to a week. What you probably will have to do is see if you can email stuff from your other account. I think that’s allowed, though you probably can’t email back.
Have her check the thread: not getting our emails to see if that has a solution.
If it doesn’t she will need to contact support. They are going to want to speak to the owner of the account. If she is going to be the owner, she needs to be the one to contact them. She doesn’t need to log in to this forum.
Top of page-support. Then top of page-submit a request. She makes a ticket from there.

This bug has occurred before. Report it in game of course.
Maybe try this, try guesting to another server. This might put you into another instance that’s not bugged. Since you get 2 chances, if there are others with the same problem, you can try partying up. One person guests up to twice. If they get a working instance the party members should be able to taxi over. If that person doesn’t get a working instance, one of the other people can try guesting and so on.
Even if you guest, you may come back to the same instance. If you want to know if the instance is the same or not you can type /ip in chat to get the server number.

“I am quite depressed now anyway so that doesnt help my mood.”
One thing you need to consider, is depression affecting your thinking as well as your moods? Depression makes it easier to get frustrated. To see problems as major that are actually minor. It makes it harder to connect with others and to feel refusals to help because they are busy as a more personal refusal. If you are suffering from depression I do hope you are seeing a doctor about this.
As to the game, not all guilds are a good fit. You are allowed to be a member of 5 at a time. If you are not fitting with the guild you are in, try others. Try using the LFG to find people to do the Living Story with you.
If you really get frustrated, I recommend that you don’t make decisions that you will regret later, especially decisions that may be caused by depression. Uninstall the game rather than wiping the account. Walk away and wait for when you feel better. Don’t wipe the account when emotion are strong. Wait till you are calm to make a decision like that.
I hope you get better. Depression is a major illness for many people, but it does normally lift with time and treatment.
Support Team what is wrong with you ? ?

There is a current bug with not being able to display the GWAMM title. That thread is on this page. Possibly they are related.
Sometimes your problem can be fixed. Log out of Guild Wars 2. Log into Guild Wars 1. Go to the HoM and speak to Kimmes. Cycle a couple of times between his conversational options. Log out. Log into Guild Wars 2. Go to Kimmes in the HoM and speak to him. See if you now have your rewards. This may not work for everyone and it might take a few hours or a day for the games to recognize the HoM updates.
Chat commands: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Chat_command
/age — displays the amount of time you have played Guild Wars 2, in the following format: “Across all characters, you have played for <x> hours <y> minutes over the past <z> days.”
/rank — drop a banner that will display your current pvp rank, e.g. if you ranked rabbit it will show a rabbit on the banner and some hopping above.
/deaths — displays the number of times your character has died, “You have died <x> time(s).”
/help or /? — opens the hints panel.
/ip — prints the IP address of the server in the chat panel. (Useful when farming nodes on alts, updating/using node maps of your own personal notes)
/support or /bug — opens the support panel.
/stuck – logs your position, use it when you are stuck to report it
/wiki — opens your default web browser to wiki’s home page.
I’ve seen them in game and even on the low graphics settings I use, they look very nice imo.
One thing about the chaos axe, maybe they were loved so much because there were fewer weapons with particle effects in the game. I don’t recall seeing very many at all and this might have made a big enough contrast that that axe stood out more than in this game.
All skill points at level 80 combined into one pool, only accessible to your level 80s. What a great idea.
It’s rather annoying when buying items with skill points, logging onto the char with the skill points to buy, then if it’s another char that has requirements for the crafting, putting the item in the bank, logging on to the other char, and finishing. It’s a big run around for no particular reason.
Ahhhh. Istani warrior armor. Even the starting armor like in this picture was so detailed and classy. Had that nice embossed looking design and could be dyed various colors such as a silvery or a copper looking appearance.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Sure, why not.
But
1) you have to buy or capture it.
2) feed and water daily. You can either gather these yourself or buy from the trading post. If you miss 1 day the mount becomes weak and you don’t have a speed buff. 2 days and you can’t ride it for another 2 days while it recovers. 3 days and when you log on it’s dead and you have to buy another.
3) shelter. When not used it need to be in a pen with a building. If you don’t shelter it, it’s weak. Shelter has a weekly fee.
4) vet care. At least once a month you need to pay a veterinarian NPC. He will also charge various random fees for vaccinations, deworming, foot care and illnesses. If you don’t use the vet NPC, your pet will become weak.
5) gear. You will need to buy gear. Saddle, bridle, shoes, etc. Gear wears out after a set number of hours and will need to be rebought.
6) after a period of time, your mount will get old, weak and then sick. You will then need to pay for the vet NPC to put it down.
If you really want mounts, you should be prepared to care for them.

But the main difference to me is, there is always something to do. The daily, work towards my goal of 100% ascended weapons for 8 chars, dungeons, WvW, the new living story, the new achieves. Unlike other MMOs, this one is not static for months/years at a time.
This is one of the sour points of GW2, in my opinion. Ascended gear violates the manifesto, violates the statement from ANET about how they don’t make grindy games, violates the statement from ANET about how we’d have the best gear in the game right after hitting level 80, and if they wanted to implement something like it, is about the worst way to go about doing it, especially since the grind hugely compounds with each additional character, each additional build, and (god help you) each additional game mode (i.e. PvE + WvW). Not only is it bad design, it’s a betrayal of the design philosophy that ANET sold us. Every time I do a world boss to obtain dragonite ore, in between the semi-afking and mind-numbing boredom, I am reminded of how awful ascended gear is. Every time I craft another piece of ascended gear, I am reminded of how awful ascended gear is.
Yeah, it’s something to do in the game, but it’s a fake thing to do. There’s no challenge in it, other than suffering through grind and annoyance. The only reason it exists is because they tried to appease the grind>skill camp that came from other MMOs, who think that because they spend a bunch of time on trivially easy content, they “deserve” to be superior to other players, and at the same time try and motivate gem store purchases for gem to gold conversion to help make the process a bit faster and less insufferable.
I have the feeling that ANet felt that for business reasons, it was a good, if not necessary idea. If they felt it was necessary, then I don’t think any of us, who don’t have their money and jobs tied up in this game, can argue with them. They have the numbers and we don’t.
That aside, truthfully the stats are not a big difference from exotics. There are large numbers of players who are at level 80, don’t even have one ascended trinket, much less one ascended weapon, who have never felt the lack of it. I play regularly with someone who has zero ascended stuff, had awful runes (100% toughness runes) and had no trouble with killing stuff.
If they add content to the game that is completely optional, which this is, I don’t find anything wrong with it.

Celestial weapons!
I loved my celestial longbow. I had it equipped on my Ritualist for the times I needed to pull stuff. It would do a whole 1 point of damage (lol) since a rit can’t use longbows effectively but it was so nice looking.
“The Celestial Longbow is a rare type of longbow with an iridescent galaxy skin. The white stars surrounding the weapon are animated and appear to float slowly in mid-air.”
The pictures here don’t really do it justice because you can’t see the animations or the iridescence.. But to get an idea:

Did they have any announcements at all before the first birthday OP? Any hype? To my remembrance they did not.
By the way, did you check out the birthday NPC in Lion’s Arch? At the moment all she can give you is a title and a achievement but that certainly indicates they have something planned.
They had several interviews in the different Game Magazine sites, and this Official Release (remember we used to get the Release pages a week before patches):
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/august-20-2013/
Here’s some of the interview-type press releases:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/09/guild-wars-2-teases-anniversary-plans
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/events/pax-2013/
There’s lots more….
But now, we might only get a Teaser Trailer. I liked the old way better. But, then, I liked the old Meta Achievements from Season One better, too. I’m an odd duck. Lol.
I guess I either managed to miss the announcements (or completely forgot about them) lol, or they were a site I don’t read (the interviews).
But they did put up that NPC which makes me really curious about what her function will be. I’m speculating maybe she will accept birthday tokens for items. Maybe they will drop ingame or by quest and you get stuff from her with them. ^^
When I played Guild Wars 1, there were times I stopped playing for months. I don’t think I’ve missed more than a handful of days in this game. Possibly its because of the time gated carrots they dangle in front of me. I expect that this shows that ANet read information on how to motivate people to log on frequently. But the main difference to me is, there is always something to do. The daily, work towards my goal of 100% ascended weapons for 8 chars, dungeons, WvW, the new living story, the new achieves. Unlike other MMOs, this one is not static for months/years at a time.
Maybe I’m not “climbing a mountain” on a daily basis here, but constant mountain climbing can get old. Sometimes you just want something you can be comfortable with and enjoy for easy entertainment, chatting with people.
(As to the forums, after being hit with the ‘log in now’ screen once too many times after I typed out a long post, I always copy the post beforehand. Save so much aggravation).
