It may be a small QoL issue, but the birthday blaster really points it out. Since that buff only lasts 10 minutes, it means not only stopping to use the gun every 10 minutes, but the annoyance of having to open up the inventory and double click on the gun. Like I said, it’s a small thing but it shows a lack of polish in how consumables are set up to be used.
A keybind or a clickable set of buttons on the UI for consumables would be a nice little feature.
Great news about the GMs. Every game needs people whose job it is, is to roam around the world, playing and interacting with others, who also have the ability and the game’s ok to report bugs right then. Also to see and evaluate people who aren’t necessarily breaking TOS, but who are obviously griefing (such as using up supply in WvWs to build multiple structures in unneeded spots).
By the way: Is there any official statement that explicitely states that dungeon selling is allowed? Don’t want to bring up a discussion about that, just being curious.

Hi everyone,
Just posting to inform you all that selling dungeon runs its NOT against the rules. People are free to do so. Please, exercise extreme caution to avoid getting scammed.
Thanks for your understanding

Please keep chat when leaving parties or switching guilds.
I really don’t see why party chat disappears when you leave a party or guild chat disappears when you switch chars. Especially when you switch chars to another that also reps that guild. It’s a strange functionality and I’m not really seeing any benefit to it.
If anything, it causes problems. People can party up and kick others from dungeons or say something in party chat then leave party and unless there is a screenshot, it’s all gone.

Very useful update. Much better than trying to remember all the subcomponents of one recipe, especially cooking where you might have to craft several base items before making the final item.
You might want to answer the Dev’s question in this thread: Inventory Window changing size.

Yes you can. I have the sigil on both a land and water weapon and it doesn’t reset when going in or out of water.
The part about the birthday blaster was it scaling low level chars to a high level of power with the buffs, in WvW. Apparently this was quickly found out and low level chars were able to take down full level 80s.
Could these have been from drops from Skritt killed in the Tixx’s Infinirarium? That was for all levels.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tixx's_Infinirarium
That also would explain why they’re not many of these on the TP.
Changing the clock (forward one day, back the next) had no effect. Reinstalling had no effect. Contacting Support has resulted in nothing but half a dozen copied-and-pasted replies (literally six identical replies, word for word the same).
This thing has hit me six days in a row now, and eight of the last ten. That’s a lot of lost gold, laurels, achievement points, time-gated crafting, world boss chests, and T6 materials I’ve been denied by a bug that’s gone unfixed for four months. It’s obvious this bug isn’t a high priority for the devs, and it’s left me virtually unable to progress in any meaningful way. At this point, I’m ready to just give up entirely and find another game to play. So this is sorta a goodbye post. Take care, and be nice to each other.
You might try one last thing. Post your ticket number and story in Tickets for review-3 days and older.
Maybe Gaile can’t help you, but it’s worth a try.
I think they put all their eggs into LS for one reason: the production costs of LS are much cheaper than developing any other kind of content.
In short, I believe they are cutting corners.
It’s not going to suffice.
People will leave – sales will dry up. Servers will shut down.
It will probably take years – event he worst MMO’s hang on for a long time.
But it’s not going to grow, it’s not going to expand. It’s going to fight a war of attrition and bleeding over a long time.
I don’t know why. But I keep thinking of this:
It’s always possible you were hacked and it was being used by a gold seller/botter.

I don’t think I would worry about it. It’s similar but not the same.
In addition, it would need to be reported. It’s hardly the sort of name that would provoke a person to do that. Then after it’s reported, support has to agree that it breaks TOS.
Have offensive racial, ethnic, national, or cultural connotations
Include hate speech or bigoted slurs
Reference sexual acts or real life violence
Are pornographic
Make inappropriate references to human anatomy or bodily functions
Reference illegal drugs or activities
Reference religious or historical figures
Reference real-life people
Reference names of copyrighted or trademarked characters, materials, or products

Since it’s not identical, imo it doesn’t reference a trademarked character. Maybe if you had used Tweety Bird it would be, but not Tweety The Sweety.
Update on guild banks are soon according to this: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/continued-improvements-to-the-megaserver-system/
“When we released the megaserver system, we told you that we’d be focusing on guilds for future improvements, and now we’re ready to introduce the global guild system to North America and Europe! This system has already been rolled out in China, and we’re very excited to bring it back over to our other regions. Instead of having a separate guild chapter on each world, everything in your guild—your bank, merits, influence, and upgrades—is now global and shared across all worlds. We built this in a way that makes sure that nothing is being lost for anyone:
The influence and the merits that your guild earned in each world will now be combined into your global guild. To make sure that you’re not losing anything there, the combined merits quantity can go over the normal limit of 250. However, your guild will not be able to earn more merits until the count gets back under that threshold.
Any upgrade you’ve unlocked on any world will be available in your global guild. If you’ve unlocked the same upgrade on multiple worlds, the influence and merit cost will be refunded. Again, the refunded merits will be allowed to exceed the normal limit, but you will be unable to earn more merits while over the limit.
All guild consumables unlocked on any world will be available in your global guild. For this purpose, the number of consumables in stock can go over the usual limits, but you will not be able to build new consumables of the same type before going back under the usual threshold.
Guild boosts that are enabled will be returned to your guild inventory and you will have to reenable them from your global guild to activate them.
The guild vault from the world that had the highest number of slots will become your global guild vault. If your guild had the same number of slots on multiple worlds, it’ll pick the one with the most items. However, the items from other worlds’ banks will not be lost—instead, their contents will be put into extra slots, which will only be available to withdraw from and will disappear once empty."
TL:DR
You should be able to access your guild bank from any server with this next update.
its like an achievment saying good job for sticking with this character so long.
Wait long enough and your other characters will get it as wellYou get the birthday gift once and that’s it, not once per character. I know this because I created all 8 of my now lvl 80 toons within the 1st 10 min of the pre-purchase release.
I was looking forward to this years birthday gift just to be let down, all 4 items are completely useless to most players who’ve been around the 2 years.
First of all, the experience booster that makes a toon lvl 20 doesn’t stack with the ones we got last year and how many players are going to buy a new slot and create a new toon just to use this? I already have 18 toons (16 are above lvl 20 and other 2 are parked at jumping puzzles).
Secondly, The skill point scroll. Big woopi, you get these (well the 1 skill point ones) on a regular basis. Although skill points are very useful for many things, when you’ve been playing for 2 years, you’re less likely to need this scroll.
Item 3 the Birthday Booster, ultimately the only decent thing from the year 2 birthday gift.
Finally, the Birthday Blaster. I thought this item was cool initially, but when I noticed it’s soulbound, you only get one birthday gift per account, and it doesn’t stack with food it then becomes another item to clutter my inventory or bank.
I was very disappointed with this year’s birthday gift.
Not true about only getting one gift per account.
So far I’ve checked 3 chars. Each got a gift and they all had the same things in them, including the birthday blaster.
I suggest you type /age to check your other chars birth dates. Perhaps it’s bugged.
Why is it that everytime someone raises either a legitimate complaint or requests a minor QoL improvement some kitten has to make a thread demanding the maintenance of the status quo just because?
I for one would really like it to be account bound instead, I haven’t played my first character for almost a year and he’s the one to get all the new cool stuff while my main character who could really make use of the birthday blaster just got another useless mini jennah.
It’s possible the gifts are account bound until opened. If so, people can get a gift, give it to the char that they can really use it on and then open it.
I suggest a game wide boycott of the gem store until they provide us with what we’ve been asking for.
Vote with your wallet.
Player X doesn’t buy from the gem store for several months. This triggers alarms in the accountant’s office. Frantically ANet’s combs through Player X’s posting history, hoping to find the one thing he said he wanted that he didn’t get, that made him stop buying.
Likely? Not very.
The notion people have that not buying gems will somehow cause ANet to provide what they in particular have asked for is….. interesting……. Sure, if dissatisfied, stop buying. But to expect that they will know that Player X stopped because of costumes instead of armor and Player Y stopped because of Living Story and Player Z stopped because of (whatever bee got into his bonnet that day) is unrealistic.
It’s also unrealistic for someone to call out for a gamewide boycott because of whatever he is unhappy about. This assumes his unhappiness is gamewide and is also an unrealistic expectation.
Possibly it’s the Skritt burglar. The bags are not a listed drop but maybe it’s a rare one and not recorded. If so that would explain why there are so few of these bags in the trading post if it’s a rare drop from an event from a 15 to 25 zone only.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stop_the_skritt_burglar_before_it_escapes_with_the_treasure
Experience, Karma, and Coin rewards vary depending on the level of the event.
Drops up to three small loot bag, each containing a random weapon or piece of armor with Fine rarity or above.
Drops a large loot bag containing three random weapons or pieces of armor with Fine rarity or above upon defeating Skritt Burglar.
Its a bit strange it’s not account bound. Imo this would be a good item for leveling alts. All that extra exp on kills and extra karma for doing hearts, so useful.
And the remaining 10%, those must be characters that are supposed to look ridiculous then, right?
No. On Asura this costume does not have this problem. Because of scaling the shoulders are much smaller and are in proportion.
Compare this picture of an Asura to the OP’s picture.
I don’t know why ANet is so enamored of outsized shoulders. They look bad. Worse, they look ridiculous. I tried it on my Sylvari and they were so outsized as to be laughable.
Yea but just imagine the clipping…
True, but that’s not for us to worry about. All we want is capes being added into the game… It’s for ANet to make sure they transition correctly on races. I have every trust in their capability to make it work correctly and look amazing!
Waaaaayy back when the first posts came out asking for capes, over a year ago now, there was an post by a Dev saying that there were problems with capes but people were working on them in their spare time as this was something those people cared greatly about. If after all this time the problems haven’t been fixed either they are essentially unfixable or no one in ANet cares about capes any more. Either way, it looks like capes are not in the game’s future and they went with backpacks and the guild banners instead.
It’s been discussed before. It’s also a problem with people who get kicked out of dungeons. They lose party chat and can’t report abuses unless they made a screenshot before joining up.
As a minor annoyance, when you switch chars you lose guild chat also even if both chars are in the same guild and both are repping.
Maybe pick one ~ level 20 that you don’t use much. Delete it, remake, and use one scroll. Then use the skill points on that char to promote mats (something like this site might be useful: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0As-wCpIszrT9dFB3YjVUVFhfenlDUUpXTVBIdm5qWmc&f=true&noheader=true&gid=12). Delete char, rinse and repeat until all scrolls except one are used.
Remake original char. Use the last scroll to get it to level 20.
A bit of trouble I admit, but it’s one way to get some use out of those scrolls.
Edit: lol.
OP deleted his original post talking about how he had no use for the level 20 scrolls as he had 64 char slots (the maximum allowed) and all his chars are level 20 or above.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I wonder if ANet bothers to read walls of text. If they can’t take the time to make their post easy to read then why should a busy Dev read it?
Wasn’t the problem with the Charr and how they moved? There were posts saying that it was a problem with clipping with their 4 legged running animation.
In the past they increased server capacity when there were several servers at full. ANet is likely to do it again when/if this happens. There’s no way of predicting when this will happen though.
Hmmm. Interesting. This might make the metabolic timer worthwhile for me.
You will get it “when it’s ready”. ™
1. I love the blaster. Its looking nice and i can imagine that it will look perfect int he hand of a skilled asuran roleplayer. The buff it gives is also pretty nice, though you need a friend to buff yourself.
Snip
I test fired the blaster when I got it and my char received that buff. I don’t think I even had to run over the cake to get it.
Lol
Just wait till your characters are 3, 4, or 5 years old and they are still getting these level 20 scrolls.
Don’t tell me this isn’t a distinct possibility.
8 professions at 80 × 5 years = 40 level 20 scrolls. Each set of scrolls from each year non stackable with the other years. Yes, I can see this happening.
Better start hoping for new races and professions, which you can level to 80 and on their birthdays get more of these.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I don’t know if you noticed but the skill point scroll is Soulbound too
No, I didn’t notice that. That certainly reduces their utility. Oh well.
Skritt in Brisbane are not aggressive. All of them are not aggressive.
Your best bet is Icedevil’s Waypoint in Lornar’s Pass. There’s skritt mining tunnels across the area and they should be able to drop the bags you seek.
I doubt they drop from this area, for 2 reasons
The small bags appear to be from level 15 to 25 areas. Lornar’s is a level 25 to 40 area. From what wiki says, the Skritt at level 28 drop light bags (help defend the mining camp from skritt) The second reason I doubt they drop from that area is because there are so few in the trading post. If they regularly dropped anywhere then there wouldn’t be so few available.
sorry i ask must you have a character you have for 2 years ore is it you have the game
when you play it ?? to get those giftso far i type /age i have 1200+ hours and 724 days
You have to have a character that is 2 years old and it’s one birthday present for each character that reaches a birthday.
I can see the birthday blaster being useful in general PvE or when leveling alts. The 10 minutes will be a bit of a pain to keep reapplying though.
The birthday blaster is interesting.
10 minutes of
Plus 40 to all attributes
Plus 10% karma
Plus 15% magic find
Plus 15% exp from kills.
Now this can be very interesting and useful.
It’s a bundle that you keep in your inventory and appear to be permanent
Thank you ANet, for real.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
My oldest char got a present also.
Level 20 scroll
Birthday booster (which says karma. The last years one’s karma part was broken and never fixed. Did they fix it for this one or did they give us another broken booster?)
5 skill points.
Birthday blaster.
Thank you ANet.
Maybe we will get a Birthday Cake! ; )
I wouldn’t mind a Birthday Cake backpack. With 2 candles and the words, I’m 2, on it.
I expect it was up and running for some time before it went live. There is bound to have been last minute testing and debugging up to launch. It was pretty close to 9pm, if not right on the nose.
It probably depends if they physically turned it on or if the computer was set to do so automatically unless overridden. If it was the computer, it would be exactly at 9 then.
If you were hacked then you should be able to get an account restoration, unless this has happened before and you used up your one time restore. If you haven’t had a restore before, contact support. They can roll back the account to a point right before the hack.
Ah. Well good luck then in finding hostile Skritt of that level. One assumes Brisbane is the spot to go. I don’t recall seeing hostile Skritt there though but I don’t remember seeing any Skritt at all on the other maps of that level so that kind of narrows it down.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
It was August 24th, 9pm pacific time by my diary.
They said that it would either be August 25th or up to 3 hours early. I tried it at 11 PM CT and they were up.
(I said Eastern time on another thread. I must have had a senior moment or something)
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
How about an account bound permanent Golem banker? I would definitely buy one of them. As a convenience item it’s even better than the permanent harvesting tools.
Say hello to Major Lag for me. I won’t be able to even type in the game if they do something like that, much less use any skills.
Not everyone has wonderful internet. I live out in the country, about 20 miles from the nearest city of 100k people. My connection can drop down to zero bars of 2G or even 1 bar of 1X. My standard good playing connection is 1 or 2 bars of 3G. Having the maps as one giant zone with everyone in there would royally mess up everyone who doesn’t have satellite or 4G.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I thought that the game started at 9pm pacfic, not eastern. I was in Pre-Searing ascalon on one machine, spammering away at the login button for GW2 on my other one.
Only a few more hours until we know what’s in them!
You’re right. Pacific time. I had a senior moment or something. ^^
Maybe the birthday blaster is a dueling gun for all those who want dueling in game. ^^
what gifts do you expect to get, apart from 5 queen jennas
Yeah ANet please don’t give us another account-bound minipet that cannot be thrown in the forge. I have 5-mini Jenna’s that I would like to put 4 of them into the forge… but nope, I can either keep 5 of them or delete 4 of them… Bit annoying.
well at least all 5 of your characters can run around with jenna without the dreaded..deposit collectible…switch character….go to bank and grab it.
do people use mini’s? ive never seen anyone with them out. Apart from me at launch with my Rydlock, and HoM mini’s.
I personally make sure I have my mini summoned at all times. XD
Each of my chars has a mini and I have mine out.
They don’t stand out like they did in Guild Wars 1. In that game they moved around. This movement made them stand out from the background and caught the eye. Guild Wars 2’s mini don’t wander around. A couple have animations, such as the dancing spider, that make them conspicuous but otherwise they stand there. This lack of movement means most people aren’t going to see a mini unless it’s running after the char.

“All requests for refunds must be submitted prior to July 15, 2014.”
They made the changes to town clothes 4 months ago. They announced that refunds were for a limited time only and they told everyone the end date.
You had 3 months to put in a ticket. That they were busy and might take a while is not a reason. If you were really dissatisfied back then you should have submitted a request at that time.
If they post a deadline and you procrastinate until a month after the deadline passes, it’s not their fault.
