Temporary solution: Join a squad and you’ll only see one tag.
Yep. Being annoyed by multiple tags on the map? Click on one, join squad. The rest disappear leaving only the one you in a squad with.
Actually, for 4 of my chars today is their birthday. ^^
I made them at 11pm (my time) when the servers opened up for the first time August 24th 2012.
The game was officially supposed to start August 25, but they actually opened up the servers at 9pm Pacific Time on August 24th.
However, iirc they didn’t get the birthday present until August 25th. Unlike Guild Wars 1 where they appeared in your inventory, mailing them out means they don’t get to your char when the birthday actually rolls around.

You said you were almost one-shot by a low level boss. Well, join the club. ^^
That happens to everyone. If it hasn’t, it’s because they avoided those bosses. Most of them, especially at that level are group content or at least 2 or 3 people. It’s very difficult for one person to take on those bosses at that level. You simply aren’t set up for it.
You already said you weren’t planning to do dungeons, just open world content. For that, most of it can be handled with experience, sufficient levels and gear and traits set up towards your needs. If open world PvE is your goal I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t be able to play to your satisfaction.
You won’t be able to get good gear that you need or trait properly until very late in the leveling process. However once you do get high enough you can get the gear and traits that fit your particular play style. At that point your survivability will go up tremendously.
Most of the big meta events are with huge groups of people. Many don’t require much movement. They do require some, but not constant. With some trial and the right gear, you should be fine.
When they were soulbound, support would exchange a duplicate ring. I haven’t read if the policy is still the same but it’s likely not changed.

and honestly a lot of the team who care deeply about Arena and the community are to scared to post because let’s be honest forums in general can be quite toxic.
Not only does posting on the forums take time away from your regular job, it’s also a potential minefield because it’s not what you are trained for and it’s easy to make mistakes.
That’s why imo your team could use an a Forum Liaison. Someone who comes on the forum at set intervals, takes questions and gets back with the answer. This will give the people the information they seek while insulating the Devs from some of the more toxic and inflammatory remarks.
If the Devs come to the forum and speak, they are a lightning rod for all the discontented people to post and be rude. A Liaison won’t have that problem since they are an intermediary, not the person who is doing what is making people upset.
I did on Henge of Denravi server a few hours back. Maybe try guesting there.
My female Charr ele needs light armor that shows her fur.
My male Sylvari ranger would like to show off his beautiful glow.
More skin baring options for male light and medium armor is wanted.
This bug is not isolated to OP. I’ve seen a number of threads about it, including this one.
Occurs on my Asura also. Most, not all backpacks are rotated to the right.
The ones not affected are the dragon winged and the flower backpieces.
Edit: the dragon wings are affected also, just not as much. They have a slight rotation to the right also.

They all perform the same function but with different animations.
You only get one. If you want to switch it to another char you will have to swap back and forth.
lmao why did my message just turn into a kitten lol
kitten-a-kitten !

If you have the watchwork pick you will get sprockets. 50 sprockets, 2 types of dust and one blade shard in the mystic forge will get you 10-14 or so blade shards.
The watchwork pick is very likely to go on sale in the next few days.
If you don’t have the watchwork sprocket node, if a friend has it he can let you in to mine it. The laurel vender sell the gift of sprockets that will put the node in your home instance. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gift_of_Sprockets

I don’t know about the elementals but the maw event is downing people regularly now since they changed it.
I don’t think they’ve ever stated an official stance towards people annoying others, except that the people need to be breaking TOS to be reported. And that if you report someone who is not breaking TOS, it could be you who gets in trouble.
Thresher-Sickle 5000 is actually the fastest if all you care about is speed. You can literally walk away from the plant when the bar is halfway done. May be a bug.
Really?
I have the wasp axe and while I like the permanence, the animation is really bad and I do not recommend it. It’s slow and it often freezes you in place after you’ve finished harvesting.
I was debating about getting a sickle, but I wanted the fastest one.
People buy them both for the permanence and the animations. So. If you don’t like one animation, you can get another.
Until ANet does that you could join the squad on one. The rest then disappear.
Astral I tried this yesterday and it didn’t work.
Ok. It was worth a try. Normally the event starts when you go to the back, bypassing the gate event.
Still bugged. doesn’t work to walk to the other side
Well, that’s unfortunate, and annoying. It must be really bugged if the event won’t start if you go around. Normally it will.
Try going around the garrison to the other side of the gates. The event should start when you get to the top of the hill there.
It depends on what he is doing. ANet has everyone accept the rules of conduct. Unless they cross one of the rules, then ANet doesn’t have the “legal right”, as it were, to punish.
Anet has the legal right to do whatever the kitten they want. It’s their game.
You notice I put legal right in quotes?
I meant there, they have rules they have to follow also and if they don’t then they could be hit with a lawsuit.
You might just need to take it slowly. Stay in the low level zones till you feel confident enough to move higher. There are 5 starter zones, you can do them first and map the cities. By the time you do those you will most likely be about level 50 to 60. Doing the next set of zones can finish your leveling.
In fact, map all the cities first. You can get good levels doing that.
You don’t have much choice on the stats on your gear while leveling but once you get to 80 you can get gear and traits that emphasizes survivability.
It depends on what he is doing. ANet has everyone accept the rules of conduct. Unless they cross one of the rules, then ANet doesn’t have the “legal right”, as it were, to punish.
They would have to be breaking TOS. If they are annoying you but not doing anything against the rules, then I don’t think so.
Well, movement definitely helps to avoid damage. Healing spring is really good for a stationary ranger. I’m not sure what healing skill rangers start off with but get that one when you can.
The pets can hold agro, but not always. What you can try is send the pet in first and letting it engage the mob before you attack it. At your low level anything above a regular mob is dangerous. You might want to await to tackle a boss till you are with someone or have leveled some.
I remember venturing out with a couple of others into a neighboring zone when we were low level. We decided to attack a yellow mob (a ram) and lost that fight. Lol. So levels definitely matter.
It would be nice if you could send one email to yourself. If it was set up that you couldn’t send another until you cleared out your first, I don’t think there would be problems with people using it as storage. Sometimes it’s useful to send an item to an alt without going to the bank first.
If you go to the other side of the garrison the event should start.
Just go to the other side of the garrison. If you do that the event starts.

I know OP said he did the chantry, but the one way inside doesn’t show on the main map as either visible or iirc as being counted for that area. There are 2 POIs involved with the chantry. One is visible. The other is way back inside the instance, is not visible and does not count toward Bloodtide.
If op shows 100% on all maps including WvW then it’s a strong possibility it’s the one in that instance.
Did you check Lion’s arch? There is a newish poi in the west, in the water.
I’m not suggesting the one who gets kicked gets the penalty – I’m saying the person who suggested to kick them and the person who seconded the kick get the penalty.
And it’s 5 for a reason: sometimes there are people who deserve to be kicked, so you are able to kick them. But if you are kicking 5 people in 3 days, 999 times out of 1000, it’s you who is the problem.
Personally, I’ve only ever suggested or seconded about 20 kicks in the almost 2 years I’ve played (thousands of dungeon runs) If you are not the problem, you won’t be getting anywhere near this limit.
As I said above, I can think of an easy way to troll people and force them to either kick me and get the debuff or have me stay and run the dungeon with 4 people. If I can think of something that fast, dedicated trolls can do so too, and probably even more.
So how would your system handle that?
All your level 80s are again level 2s with starter gear, a fresh start.
How’s that?
I doubt anyone outside ANet has a clue. (Shrug) but there more speculation on this thread
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Don’t they have something similar in WoW? I read that forum sometimes and read complaints about how someone who gets themselves kicked a few times becomes immune to more kicks and amuses himself by trolling groups.
While your suggestion isn’t the same, if there is a way for someone to find a way to leverage it to troll others, then you can be sure they will.
For example, someone could repeatedly join parties just to force others to kick them, thus giving them the dishonorable buff.
What an interesting idea. The bonus weekends were great in Guild Wars 1 to achieve title goals. I don’t see why they can’t be modified for Guild Wars 2.
Maybe name it Imodium AD explosive Space Modulator instead?
In the Teq event where the NPC says,“There’s something in the water”, fire it to solidify Tequatl. It’s bad to see a loose Teq.
In his case I would say longbow to start but keep a melee set for when the mobs close in. Maybe sword and torch or warhorn. The sword is a strong weapon. People complain about if because it roots you but if he isn’t going to dodge a lot, then it’s not a consideration. It has a follow up leap to the mob on auto so it will by itself continuously keep him on top of the mob. He doesn’t have to try to move to follow, the sword will do it for him.
The sword has a leap away and leap back. He can use the leap away to get away from a mob if he is loosing health, switch to longbow, push the foe away with the longbow skill and continue using that. The warhorn has the buffs as well as the bird skill on 4 which is pretty strong. The torch has nice condition damage as well as a fire aura if a pet or he leaps through it.
I saw that.
There was a post about the Halloween skins possibly making a come back. Data mining showed they were updated. These skins were a rare drop from the BLCs. Maybe it’s related to that.
I think it’s time for us, the community, to ask for more. It’s a gem store outfit. This is unacceptable. My problem is that designers knew about the horrific clips if you don’t wear a helmet and yet, they decided to go on and put it up for real money (for some players) instead of holding up a few weeks to fix the issues. I am really sad for this. I am sad not about the outfit, or any outfit, but with the whole idea of putting unfinished and badly designed things on gem store/game. I want to support them, but I will never support lazy and unfinished projects.
PS: Images are from http://dulfy.net/ and from dulfy video – GW2 Ceremonial Plated Outfit and Belinda’s Greatsword Skin : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owVa_uekeEo
Can’t see any clipping on those pictures you posted. Do you mean the hand that is inside the armor? Well, that’s in almost every game with different armor styles. Can’t see a problem here.
The first 2 pictures show the hair clipping.
I don’t know why people make a fuss when hair clips. It’s not like it’s a new issue. If you pick long hair then you will have clipping issues.
Maybe people trying to get rid of old inventory before Halloween rolls around and more nodes arrive?

Those who want tons of loot with little effort, should play a single player game like Morrowind. In that game I have a room filled with expensive high end Daedric armor and weapons, high level lock picks, mounds of alchemy ingredients, rows upon rows of potions lined up. I even amused myself by placing stacks and stacks of gold on the floor.
A single player game can provide all the riches your heart desires. Why? Because you’re the only person there. That game doesn’t have to worry about the economy and what happens to it if you shower the players with loot. A multiplayer game has to keep this in mind.
What happens if everyone gets all the high end loot easily, so much that their inventories are full? Can they sell them? No, everyone else is trying to sell their epic loot. Prices plummet. Crafting mats prices plummet too. Why should anyone craft at all if the best gear is raining down upon you?
People who complain that they aren’t getting the drops they want aren’t seeing the whole picture. A game like this, where the marketplace is global, has to be stingy with their drops to the individual or the TP gets flooded. The Devs have to calculate how much loot one individual can get so that the loot from all the individuals are at an acceptable rate.
If you are getting password reset requests that you did not ask for, then someone is trying to steal your account. They likely have both your email and your password.
You need to
1) run a security scan of your computer
2) change the password on your email, just in case.
3) change the game’s password.
You will need to contact support for that answer.

Karma and WvW armor from badges of honor can’t be salvaged. Did you originally get that armor from one of those sources?
I have 4 on August 24th, so 3 more days for them. Made them when the servers came up at 11pm my time way back at launch. However, I think they didn’t send out the gifts last year till Aug 25th. So, perhaps the game doesn’t consider the 24th to be a birthday.
The login is the same as for the forum, email and password. A common error is people trying to use their display name (mellamo is your display name).
Have him check this thread Not getting our emails.
A second possibility, his email is hacked and the hacker is removing those emails before he gets them. He can do a security sweep of his computer and change the email’s password.
A 3rd thing he can try, get another email from a different provider, contact support and change to that email.
You’re welcome.
Glad it worked for you,
