Actually no I am not.

Nice, you made a hat-trick.

Extreme points, selective points and now ‘because you say so’ ideals.

And at 124 tabs of posts, it’s pretty clear your happy go round in circles all day.

So you make some personal attack on my post count that has nothing to do with this thread or what I was posting? Nice…

And they were not extremes points. The bugged achievement is only a very small part of the content. It would be extreme if it wasn’t and I used those examples. It’s not extreme if they’re on the same end of the spectrum.

She never said it got pulled because it the mote bug.

the implication is that even if it wasnt the mote bug, the mote bug would constitute a reason to pull it on its own.

Its a known issue
it causes the content not to work as intended.

Not really. It’s just a single achievement. The vast 99% of the season is working as intended.

when they are sold seperate, its not a big issue, when they are sold together it is a big issue for the product.

Lets say you go to a movie, and 4 minutes at the end blanks out.
that is grounds for a refund of the full movie.
yes, i know this because it has happened.

the fact that it may only be 1/20th of the movie missing is irrelevant. The product as a whole is not functional with that 1/20th missing.

So if they have a bug preventing people from completing the diving achievement, they should not sell the game? Also, it seems that this was pulled well before the two complain threads were created.

your sense of scale is totally off.
main purpose of LS is story, and the achievement based rewards/challenges. Its actually more about the achievement based rewards/chalenges than the story, since your friends can take you on story missions.
the fact that the end reward of an entire release (1/7th) is not available is not of similar scale to the diving achievements in comparison with the whole entire game of gw2.

It’s just one single achievement. The purpose of the diving one was to show how small they are compared to what was released. You can still enjoy 99% of the season until they resolve the bug affecting the mote.

its one achievement that is required for getting the final achievement for that whole release. that makes so the whole release is considered to be broken. Very much like if you buy a lego car, and its missing one of the wheels.

that release is 1/7th of the content they are packaging together.
to use my other analogy, now its like that lego set missing a wheel is packaged in a racecar series mega pack with 7 cars.
that one wheel may only be one peice out 4000, but it blocks you from making one of the 7 cars, which makes the racecar series deal essentially broken.

the diving achievement is not the main purpose of the game. The main advantage of actually buying LS packs is to be able to complete the achievements and get the items (since you can experience the story without buying it)

and yes you can return a lego set if only one peice is missing, because it stops you from completing the lego item.

The diving achievement is not the main purpose of the game just as the story achievements are not the main purpose of the livibg story. They are optional to give players something else to do. For awhile at game launch, several of the skill points were bugged and unable to be completed. Many of these were bugged for quite some time before a fix was created. This prevented map completion was then unable to be completed and prevented people from getting their legendary weapons. Should the game not have been sold during this time? I’m sure that’s a more acceptable example than the diving achievement.

that was a very big problem, and a huge issue with MASSIVE complaints. Some people got refunds on that basis. People were perfectly right to complain, perfectly right to seek refunds, For some people it was tolerable, because the game was new, but i dont think that is something they should take for granted as just being how things go. I dont think they will solve these issues until they set up public test servers, and improve their bug finding/fixing/monitoring pipeline, as well as master bug priorities.

Now, i personally never said they shouldnt sell something, i said they should make sure people are aware of the problem. The simplest means of not causing problems is not to sell till known issues are solved though.

And like i said, the main advantage to buying the LS is actually the achievements, you can experience the story without buying them, but you cannot get the achievements without buying them.

I know that you never said that they shouldn’t sell something. That argument was actually created by others who wanted to boycott and tell people not to purchase the season 2 package rather than simply inform them that an achievement was currently bugged and no time table has been given yet on when it will be fixed.

Not really a hyperbole as it’s affect on the overall game is relatively the same as the mote bugs on the season.

Please, don’t kid yourself.

It’s a poor example, it’s not proportional at all.

If you don’t understand how the missing mote fundamentally breaks a COMBINATION of different achievements and progression aspects compared to being unable to dive then you obviously have no idea.

You can still do 99% of the living story content for season 2.

That’s nice, what about the rest? Now your just picking and choosing along with extreme arguments.

You still have no idea.

Actually no I am not. I stated what my point was all along. You’re just choosing to ignore it.

Mesmer is NOT the slowest class in the game. They can have perma swiftness too.

Is just harder/maybe inconvenient to have that compared to the other professions.

What perma swiftness?

Mantra of Recovery paired with Superior Runes of the Centaur, for the swiftness on heal bonus.

Not really meaningful since it relies on gear. It’s no different than me saying any class is fast and can maintain swiftness if they consume spring rolls. You’re also assuming that everyone is level 80 or high enough to use those runes. .

Well seemingly there are multiple accounts involved, so a fairly decent number of players colluding together isn’t out of the question, but it still doesn’t seem sound. I can’t imagine it going any better than it did last time, but we shall see.

If you’re going by the player count on the website, I wouldn’t. That is actually the number of entries made rather than unique players. If I list but a buy order for 50 and another for 200, it’ll show up as two players on the website.

I’m not saying that it can’t be multiple people as well.

I’m thinking that those large quantities of buy orders (such as for 1s) were on purpose to encourage people to bid above them so they could sell them. All they need is something to stimulate demand such as new players starting the game and completing the first personal story chapter, expansion release and people do personal story on their new revenant, a new set skins, a sale on keys, etc.

Considering this is the second time this has happened, I guess there is a profit to it. The storage requirements must be fierce though, since they haven’t listed them back on the trading post.

They likely are using an alt account and just have them sitting waiting to be picked up rather than in their inventory.

I wonder if it’ll pay off for them as I can see why they did it.

I would recommend against using Guardian. Yes you CAN get perma swiftness with staff but it’s … not fun. If you can choose your class for open world completions, Guardian would not be it. Other than the perma swiftness, which requires you to constantly stand around in symbols (and slows you down consequently), staff is perma crap damage. No sane person would recommend you use that weapon it for open world completion. It’s use is VERY limited in PVE.

I usually laid down the symbol when fighting mobs or activating vistas and then used it as I ran around. I never used it to attack nor to stack might as it wasn’t worth it. Time was never lost when using staff swiftness as the time spent gaining the stacks of duration was easily made up with the time I would have lost without having the swiftness. Having to stand and stack duration is even less of an issue now with the swiftness duration food from the recent festival.

One of the things that I liked most when using guardian was to use GS #5 to pull in mobs and then #2 when trying to get kills for the hearts. I completed hearts much quicker than I had with the other classes I have played and hearts are the most time-consuming objective when doing map completions (except for Orr).

If the sole purpose is to just do map completion in the fastest time, and only once, then yes I would not use guardian. I’d use either a thief or a warrior because of their mobility.

My first map completion was Guardian. Which I highly recommend against. They’re probably the slowest moving class, they have horrible health pool and can’t really solo with zerker gear because of said low health pool. Did I mention they’re slow? Staff sucks balls, lets be honest here staff as a weapon blows. You only see so many guardians with one because of it’s lootstick qualities and might stack.

My first map completion was with a guardian too and it’s honestly not as bad as you make it seem.

Yes, I used staff. No, it doesn’t suck balls. It gives you perma swiftness if you combine it with the ‘retreat!’ shout and the might-stacks are really good. When you’re up against a group of mobs simply open the fight with staff 4, switch to your greatsword and kill everything. It’s really super easy.

I also used Berserker gear with Scholar runes. I could easily solo anything I wanted in open-world PvE. I mean come on, open-world PvE is so extremely easy that if you honestly die a lot in open-world PvE you’re probably just really bad (or at least a really bad guardian).

Doesn’t change the fact that it’s the slowest moving class in game with the lowest health pool. I’m looking forward to specializations to maybe get to be a damage guardian without giving up literally everything that makes my class desirable and having no defense to be less then what a warrior is. Cause right now without support a guardian is a half-kitten warrior.

I actually leveled up doing world completion on guardian and had no issue whatsoever with speed, killing thinghs, and staying alive. Guardian also does not have the worst mobility in the game as you can have 100% up-time swiftness. I always went with berserker related stats and uses greatsword/staff. Your issue here may have been that you did not know how to play the class after a few hours and used mediocre weapons. I get the feeling from your post that you camped staff.

I’ve done world completion on every class but thief and engineer. I’m slowly working on thief and have zero desire to ever play engineer. Of the ones that I have done, mesmer was the slowest.

No, I hate staff never use it. Most I use staff for is to swap to it for Teq prior to burn phase. I find it a boring weapon and serves little point or use. I much rather prefer a scepter/focus and greatsword. Greatsword because it’s required as it’s the only damage weapon we have. We have other weapons that deal damage, but it’s the only high damage option.

The guardian profession confuses me, why am I the only class who’s profession skills effect everyone around me? Mesmers shatters only effect them. Engi tool belt only effects them. Necro only effects them. Why does all virtue have to effect everyone around me? It seems to be the prime reason our health is so low and damage is so low, to offset the stupid high amounts of support.

Sword does great damage. If you’re doing map completion after reaching 80, just use the meta DPS build. Guardians don’t need high HP because of the amount of blinds that they have as well as blocks.

If the OP really don’t know you can store items in TP, he know now. Better than using all those characters to store candy corn.

I think when GW2 have those 10$ sell, some of the items supply drop a bunch. Last sell, a bunch of leather is depleted. I bought some too.

Good point. I know a lot of people that bought $10 accounts exactly for this reason: they can put in buy orders for stuff that is cheap now and only collect it from the TP when it’s gone up enough. Until then, they just get the daily login rewards and convert laurels to T6 mats.

(I dunno if this is the only reason T6 mats have dropped so much this year, but it seems likely it’s a major factor.)

Yep. I’m pretty sure that’s what someone is doing with the black lion chests too.

Thief and warrior have the highest mobility. Classes with easy access to swiftness and/or the passive speed boost signets are great too.

Thief shortbow of daggers probably put them ahead of warriors.

It does. I grouped them together as they seem far above the rest in my opinion. Thieves may be slightly faster but warriors also kill things quicker which is helpful when doing the hearts. It’s all about what someone’s personal preference is.

It’s not broken. While it is incredibly quick with the event chain active, flame legion do spawn periodically which you can kill for credit.

It is broken, the respawn timers on those flame legion you mention is incredibly slow, no fire turrets or anything to make the event finish-able in a reasonable amount of time, i.e. if you relied on those respawns it would take half an hour to an hour, maybe more.

While the respawn of the flame legion is about 2 min, the defend event pops up every 9.5 min and gets progressively more difficult each time. Every time that I have gone to time the things here, I’ve actual had to do the event chain to open the portal. I really do not see an issue as the defend event provides more than enough to complete the heart. The enemy count should also scale up with the number of people there. I was just here with 7 people defending the upper level and we had waves of 6 charr about 20 sec apart.

From what I understand, you will not be able to. The only way to transfer gold between accounts after you’ve hit the weekly cap is through items. The downside to this is you lose value due to the TP fees. This can be avoided if that gold has a purpose and you buy the items you need on whichever accoubt has the gold and then transfer them over to the accoubt that you need them on.

Anyone else want to add onto or correct anything I said? I haven’t actually tested this out but it’s the gist of what I understand from the previous threads.

I find it objectionable because it doesn’t make sense for light armor to require more leather than cloth for the armor components while leather armor requires more cloth than leather for the armor components. I’m not counting what’s used for the insignias.

It makes as much sense as light armor costing ~35% more to craft than medium armor, right? Rather than the cost of ascended armor, the difference between the armor weights is THE issue that keeps all these “silk/damask is too expensive” discussions popping up. If the recipe for ascended armor was simply (for example) 150 charged lodestones and an abyss dye combined with any set of exotic armor in the mystic forge, that cost would be much higher than what ascended armor costs now. But it would be the same cost for light, medium, and heavy. People might object to its expense. They might object to the lack of relevance of the required materials to the final product. But they couldn’t object to one class of armor arbitrarily being significantly more expensive than others. Which makes no sense at all and is just as objectionable as requiring leather to make cloth armor.

It makes perfect sense why light armor costs more. Cloth is required across all three armor weights which has been the case since the beginning of the game. The problem is the insignia that is required by all 3 armor weights which require 18 damask bolts in total. The difference between heavy and light is between 60-80 gold most of the time. I don’t see heavy armor users posting on here about leather armor being cheaper.

To quote JS: “I’m not even sure we agree that there is even a problem to discuss.”

The real problem is what Wanze listed above as his #3, the difference between the cost of light ascended vs the others. John may not see this as a problem because it really isn’t a strictly economic issue, which is his area of interest.

Btw, here is a “solution” that should have pretty much zero impact on the economy. Swap the materials requirements for light ascended armor and medium ascended armor. I.e. make medium armor require 36 damask and 6 elonian leather and make light armor require 24 damask and 18 elonian leather. Anyone finding that change objectionable should easily be able understand the problem being discussed.

I find it objectionable because it doesn’t make sense for light armor to require more leather than cloth for the armor components while leather armor requires more cloth than leather for the armor components. I’m not counting what’s used for the insignias.

^ Why do people keep assuming that they are not releasing it just to annoy people? Maybe there are actual reasons for it? Such as bugs and such that needs to be fixed but being put on the very end of the queue due to being very low priority.

they told us they didn’t want to realease SAb in the middle of living story , because it wasn’t in lore (instead of wvwvw season….. kitten logic). now we are not in the middle of ls , we are in a long break , this is the perfect time to put SAb , even only world 1-2. We all know if they not realease it before HoT we will have to wait a lot , because after hoT the ls will start again and they don’t want to add SAb in the middle of ls….

BTW your role of arenanet paladin is really boring , you can even try to create excuses more fun… like: Colin dog eaten SAb projects….

I agree that now would have been the perfect time for World 3. However, if the team that did SAB were busy wrapping up the expansion, they obviously couldn’t work on SAB. If they couldn’t work on SAB then no World 3. As to whether or not they could have just re-released Worlds 1 and 2, well you’d have to ask them and see if you get an answer.

If they re-add the Wintersday mini’s in July, does that mean we’re getting Wintersday in July?

I don’t get it… is that supposed to be an unreasonable expectation?

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Wintersday_in_July

The point being that just because they re-release content related items into the store, doesn’t mean said content is going to return shortly.

cuz they put the minis in the bl chests… sab minis = sab is coming. sab minis without sab = just plain mean.

If they add a Palawa Joko mini in the gem store, does that mean Crystal Desert/Elona is coming? If they re-add the Wintersday mini’s in July, does that mean we’re getting Wintersday in July?

wow thanks guys , great help .

my psu is a Dell d460AD model, it says 460W max power?

i assume thats enough for gtx 560 ti, i don’t overclock or anything, not sure if there are programs auto overclocking though.

i guess i gotta go clean up the graphics card over the weekend.

Your GPU requires at least 500-550W in terms of system power.

Cloth may lose a percentage of its value but you gain a lot of it back with leather now having value rather than being vendored or trashed.

Incorrect. Leather prices will increase while cloth prices decrease. They’ll eventually balance out somewhere between where leather and cloth prices are now.

If you suggest that the increased price of leather is going to be proportional to the price drop of cloth, that’s where you are wrong.

That’s not at all what I said.

Then what do you guesstimate will be the final prices for each? If you are so confident that making leather insignias is a better idea than increasing cloth scrap supply, then what will be the final prices?

I cannot state what the final prices will be for both leather and cloth as I don’t have access to the data that Anet has. What I do know is that the price of both will fall somewhere between what leather is now and what cloth is now. It’s pretty obvious that it will fall in this range.

What you do not seem to understand is the demand for ascended armor. The largest cost factor in ascended armor is the insignias. Adding leather as an option to craft insignias alleviates the stress on the cloth supplies. Leather prices will go up and cloth prices will go down. Since both of these have very little to no uses outside of ascended, unlike mithril, I’d say that they will more or less come to about the same price in terms of cost to craft T7.

What I do know for certain is that your claim that leather will just simply rise to match what cloth is today is very incorrect. Whenever you add more ways to get something, prices tend to fall. In this case, ascended armor prices will fall.
