Content Wise? It’s about 1/3 of what we got from the 1st 2 years of GW1 with the only increase in quality being the graphics.. So for the most part, yeah.
Story Wise? Absolutely. I barely play because this isn’t Guild Wars anymore. It’s SJ Wars.
Feature Wise? it’s ok.. No new races/classes is a huuuge let down.
The Silverwastes is not tiny.
It’s 1/4 the size of a regular zone. How is that not tiny?
If they made the original game at the rate that they are releasing zones in the LS, it would take around 40+ years to complete.
Let’s say I have a square and a rectangular container. The square container has half the surface area of the rectangular container when viewed from top. Is the rectangular container larger than the square container?
What if the square container was taller than the rectangular container and had a volume of 5 times that of the rectangular container as a result?
My point is that you cannot simply judge something based on a two dimensional view.
Experimental Gun let’s you go to the end and complete it in like 20 seconds. Others have done it with leap skills.
I’m just going to farm the tokens as well and hold out on spending them until after the next update.
In sPvP, I noticed that I get the option to volunteer to change teams due to an imbalance when it’s my team that has the fewer members.
You are quite right, that’s exactly what they do.
Thanks for the confirmation. Now that I’ve cleared it once I might go back and fool with them a bit. Did any of them lead to alternate mini-chests or badges? I noticed that there were at least 2-3 smaller chests along the path of the puzzle already.
I understand that this might be a negative point for some people, but for me this increased the sense of exploration, I liked it a lot.
Fair point, and I do enjoy exploration, but the problem with a long form JP is that it takes a certain amount of time and effort to reach a given point, and “exploring” an incorrect path can sometimes force you to redo a half hour or more of jumping. I think that when there is no “wrong” answer, exploration is great. I loved exploring the ship, for example, but when there are definite “wrong” answers for which you’ll be punished, I’d prefer to have a definite “right” answer within sight, something that you can logic out, rather than guess and check.
There are checkpoints that make it so you don’t need to start over at the beginning.
If people really dislike the pacing then log online every 2 weeks to get access to the episodes and then do them all after the season is over. Problem solved.
How do I get the boots ? They are not as a option to buy , have’nt gotten any in chests …….. Anyone ?
Thanks !! Opened alot of chests and did’nt get any , RNG suck
How do I get the order ? Any idea ?
Do the event at the NE corner of the map that let’s you get access to the JP.
Not that one. You want to do the defence event for the order.
I got it from that event that I mentioned. That event completed the achievement.

Such was a common thought after E4 came out. However, we see mursaat structures in GW1 and they be not gold.
Who’s to say they don’t have more than one architectural style/ material? After all, there’s a lot of variety in what humans have made in Tyria.
Maybe a Mursaat residential area would be very, very different in style from a defensive installation like the Onyx Gate.
Have you seen different architectural styles that various races use within this game? You’re trying to to present an open-ended argument where there’s no precedent within the game to establish a basis that there are more than one architectural type used among a given race. Quaggans, Krait, centaurs, Asura, Charr, Sylvari, Norn, Humans, and so on all have an architectural type distinct with their race.
All of part two has been short when compared to part 1 in Dry Top. We used to have three instances but lately there’s been just two.
“It takes 1 year for a new map” – if I´m right, something like this once was in a dev-post – though I also find it strange given the original size of GW2.
Still, the point is: a LS-team of 20 people certainly didn´t build these maps alone (if they even were involved in something else than the instanced part of LS).
And you know the words: size alone doesn´t matter . . . The new maps are rather small but filled with a lot more than vanilla-maps or Southsun.
That was for a WvW map.

We shall see. People said the same about Liadri and I see that mini often.
The ascended trinkets normally require you to complete all story achievements first before you can buy them from the vendor.
Some people confirmed that you do in another thread.
I’ll put the grinding for luck this way:
You need 4.3 million luck to max it out if starting from zero.
There have been 440 days since luck was introduced.
You’d need to earn 9,440 luck per day.
It’s improbable to get this much through normal play so you were going out of your way to acquire it.
Edit: Why was the number version of four hundred and forty filtered?
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Amazing, had you not rushed getting to 304%, you would not be asking this in the first place.
You call 2+ years rushing?
Luck was introduced September 2013…
So we need 5K crests this episode and another 5K for the next. Awesome.
I wouldn’t consider those continuity issues. When I think of problems with continuity, I think of DBZ.
These are more like gaps in the story. I’d personally play the past 3 episodes again as I don’t see an issue with the transitioning.
I’m just finding it a camera angle/collision detection nightmare on my Norn
Try using one of the tonics to transform into something smaller but still gives you the ability to jump?
There’s a video on reddit but it’s in a foreign language.
Check the wardrobe?…
Um…okay. Except I didn’t quote anything. Lol. I did however respond to the post above mine; perhaps, I should have quoted it. Np.
Not the forum quotes but the following
’There isn’t anything to do! Living Story takes 30 minutes/one hour/two hours max!’
And yet now the forums resound with ‘There isn’t anything to do! Living Story takes 30 minutes/one hour/two hours max!’
I surely preferred the ‘too much’ to the ‘too little’. But, again, minority here. And no matter what the Devs release, it seems it is wrong. Sigh.
Let’s say Anet releases an expansion today. Months later you’d have the same people on the forums complaining that there’s nothing to do and that another expansion needs to be released.
I’m not sure why you quoted me. I didn’t, nor have I ever to my recollection, posted about whether an expansion would be good or not. What I was posting about was the Living Story and the difference between Season One and Season Two.
And, you are probably correct. Which is why I repeat…I prefer the release cadence and content offerings of Season One where the forums seemed to have ‘too much, too fast’.
It was due to what you quoted. I was just adding to it but probably could have phrased it better.
TC is kind of pushy right now, but we always hope JQ and BG come out to play.
There are new people in TC, interest in PvP in our WvW guilds, we are looking for a challenge.
Don’t sell yourself short tho. TC is winning because it’s a robust server whose RP population took to WvW in ways that most people couldn’t imagine. It’s a great community that makes people want to log on and fight together.
And here it was me thinking that it was actually due to SoR imploding and a lot of those players/guilds transferring to TC allowing them to be Tier 1.
Any episode that starts off by checking your mail will require you to delete that mail you had received from a previous play through.
No. More PvE events promote karma farming.
The grind in GW2 is nothing compared to other games. You also grind for skins rather than gear. There’s ascended but it’s largely unnecessary unless doing high level fractals.
No, it’s bad design. The function of lightning pull platforms is to provide a means to move a player from point A to point B. For someone’s connection to somehow become a factor, not by when, but by whether it works is bad design. They chose to implement a method with such high risk of failure conditional on one’s connection, which they may not be maintaining properly on their end and can’t change on the player’s end regardless, instead of something with the consistency to move the player from the same spot to the same spot every time.
There have been several times where I have been jumping and all of a sudden I stop moving mid-jump. Jumping must be bad design as well.
And yet now the forums resound with ‘There isn’t anything to do! Living Story takes 30 minutes/one hour/two hours max!’

So essentially they’re asking for EotM 2.0?
It’s not bad design. It’s the connection either on your end of theirs.
The OP may find it more enjoyable to play ESO or other games like that. Not every game has to have those elements.
The only way to get enough luck is by playing excessively and/or buying up items to salvage. I highly suspect that this was meant as a long term goal but a small percentage of players felt they needed to reach it quickly.
Hard to believe that at it’s 3rd Wintersday anniversary the Anet devs will only have been able to make 2 healing skills per class that do not make the gameplay any more interesting and that literally nobody uses. The Elementalist doesn’t even have an elite skill worth using. This is particulary shocking when considering that the battle mechanic is the most successful aspect of the game yet it has been left to gather dust.
It’s wasted potential and It’s really sad considering GW1 had so much more to offer in terms of skills and builds.
GW1 also didn’t have the trait system like GW2 does. The runes and sigils (inscriptions) are also more complex than GW1 where you mainly got just attribute changes and condition duration changes.
There are also a lot of builds in GW2. Many build can be created for a specific thing. I remember creating a build specifically for my guardian when fighting the destroyer boss in the Crown Pavilion. There are a lot of builds that you can make for other bosses and challenges including how other players’ builds can synergize with yours. The major difference between GW1 and GW2 is the difficulty. GW2 has very little difficulty so is more forgiving if players stuck to just one or two builds.
edit: and btw GW2 as a product is beyond damaged already. Wonder why…
Why do you continue to play the game and/or post on the forums if you believe that the game is beyond damaged? Do you have to ruin the game and experience for everyone else because you’re unhappy that it’s not moving in the direction that you feel that it should?
You salvage them.
Would separating out the next chapter’s elements from the previous chapter be worth looking into?
In the above case, the particular story step he’s on could’ve been added to the beginning of the next chapter which would then show the level in the top right. This could prevent confusion with players wondering why their story isn’t progressing.
That question is senseless as we’re playing Guild Wars 2. Connecting GW2 with GW1 is the least they can do.
Not really. Read the rest of my post. I was stating that the instance would not have been any different than any other had there been no nostalgia with it.
I think most people critical of the Living Story strategy are concerned about the quantity of content, not the quality.
The living story is bad in both terms of quantity and quality.
The only enjoyable ones was the marionnette and the one in Glint’s lair and Durmand priory. And concerning the season 1, I just prefer forgetting it. That pitiful and horribly unending “story” about the uninteresting Scarlet, the alliances between her and 37 different enemies, one after another…
Yeah, the most joyful moment in season 1 was Scarlet’s death, because I knew this painful story was finally over.
The marionette was in season 1.
Pretend that you knew nothing about GW1 or that game never existed. Would you still consider Glint’s Lair enjoyable compared to others? I’m asking because I believe that a lot of people are letting their nostalgia for GW1 blind them.
Maybe he had to read the mail first to progress that part leading up to the actual instance?
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
You could never reserve season 1. This didn’t start until season 2.
Also, there was a gap between part 1 and part 2 of season 2. Part 1 was not season 1.
The games been out for over 2 years. Wait until you been around for a year and you realize LS is really the only thing you’ll get out of the game.
I’ve been around since the release and enjoy the living story. I’d prefer it over content released every 1.5 to 2 years.
The current Living Story is awarding keys, you can take all your alts through for a free key each.
that reward is repeatable? which part is it from?
Finish the entire 6th episode and can only be done once per character.
Also keep in mind that you don’t get the same XP from levels 1-125 as you do from 126-250.
It was possible back in September to craft to level 10 at no loss. In fact, you could make a profit. Many people did not know about this because those crafting websites they rely on do not account for items that can be crafted at a profit.
Hard mode is also pointless as everything is so spread out and the difficulty of the enemies is on par with a “My First MMO” game. I suggest going back to GW1 and try to vanquish a map. You’ll notice a considerable difference between GW1 and GW2.
Question John why put a bottom out price on non vendor Items if you don’t plan to put a cap on them
They’re not mutually inclusive. Just because an item has a price floor doesn’t mean that it must have a price ceiling as well.
How do I get the order ? Any idea ?
