Leather is limited to just medium armor and making bows. There’s farm less demand for them compared to silk. If silk requirements were cut in half, would anyone really expect for prices to remain the same?
We likely will not see a new map. There are still some areas on the north side of the map that can be filled in.
Don’t know about that, seeing how its a bunch of high cliffs and seeing how its already called ‘Far Silverwastes’…
The same could have been said to that north area before the current episode.

People would just Zerg up for them.
Damages players? What about those that sell their silk scraps? Silk scraps also have an incredibly limited use which is for crafting to 400 and ascended armor.
Weren’t these sales postings determined to be LFG abuse as the LFG system isn’t the classifieds?

Cities
- Experience (10% of level at the time map was completed)
It should be 10% of the zone’s max level other than cities which you mentioned. So for Queensdale, you’d get 10% XP of what you would have gotten as a level 15.
OK so it’s 10% when the map is completed but what about for the Pop’s, way points and vista’s for each city? I would like to know the total amount for each city if that’s possible
It shows that in the wiki.
Kinda annoyed at the fact that the mats for crafting cost more than what you make. This destroys any incentive (for me at least) to bother picking up a craft. Why bother farming mats to make an insignia when you can just sell the mats and make more than what the insignia sells for? Will this be changed in the future? Or will there be recipes added that can actually provide something that can be sold for higher than for what the mats are worth? Right now I sit at 401 in Tailoring and I see absolutely no reason to push for anything higher. Ascended gear is just an ego boost since you can do everything in the game in exotic gear and even in rares. How can you turn a profit with crafting when what you make sells for less than the mats used to make it?
It is very unlikely that materials will cost less than what they make. Everything on the TP has its price based on supply and demand. Those materials used to craft have a high demand so will be priced accordingly. If there were recipes that produced a profit, this would quickly disappear as people rush to make a quick profit. Time-gating as preserved some profitable recipes. There are also profitable recipes although they’re not well known as it takes a bit of effort to find them.
So in short, it’s rare that you will find something that you can craft and sell in the TP where the ingredients can also be bought and sold on the TP.
I don’t think my reaction time is too bad, but the cheesy insta-windwall right on top of you, or the insta-npc sandstorm right on top of you… yeah it’s horrible, and having a group didn’t help anything as everyone in my group failed it too…
I gave up. I didn’t even try the other achievements. What the hell was Anet thinking?
I shudder to think what the next chapter’s achievements will be like.
The wall’s spawn point in pinged on the mini map so it’s easy to anticipate it.
Same happens occasionally in the labyrinth.
The challenges can be done solo.

All of the other armor pieces will still be available the next patch though. All that opening them now does is remove the possibility of getting the parts from the next episode and having to re-farm them. You’re not missing out on anything by waiting unless you need the skin now.
It’s whatever peoples’ priorities are. There not really a wrong way.
I agree. The Silverwastes may be (right now anyway) half the size of Kessex Hills, but there is a hell of a lot more going on in them. I have spent so many hours in the Silverwastes and every time I think I’m about to get bored, something completely new is added.
I can guarantee there are many events you’ve never seen in the normal game world. Seeing a new event doesn’t suddenly make Silverwastes more dense. Even if the content were double in terms of density (which it’s not) it would take 20+ years to make the original game. You people need to stop pretending so blatantly that everything is the same in quality & quantity right now. There is nothing wrong with liking the new content, but lying about how much there is doesn’t make it true.
Do the JP and explore the the area beneath while trying to get the golden badges. The map is roughly the size of the original ones when you take that into consideration.

How many of you are currently trying to get the pieces of bladder and spleens for the leg and boots collections? It’s a pain, huh? How do you feel about doing it all over again with the next update to get the parts for the helm and chest collections? I’m pretty sure nobody wants to.
When you get the parts bags, do not open them. Just hold onto them and wait until the next update. This way you can use all of these bags towards getting the newer parts while using the part-specific extractors to get what you’re missing from the older sets after the fact.
There’s no need to spend hours upon hours grinding for the update’s items to only spend that same amount of time during the next update doing the same. You’re essentially doubling the time spent grinding by opening them now as you’ll get a lot of these pieces during the next update.
You don’t have to wait but I just thought that I would share with you what I, and many others, are doing.
I got two boot boxes one right after another. RNG is RNG.
You can also jump up on the cliff while someone kills the boss. Similar to getting the trample one by stacking on top of one of the wooden spikes.
Keep in mind that not everyone that posts these threads are aware how often this question has been asked nor does the broken forum search help much with that.
They have no plans to do so.
You can get someone to carry you through it. I believe so long as you hit it at least once, you’ll get credit.
How would you beat Bubbles? Build an Asura gate under the ocean and shove a bomb through it too?
Also, wasn’t Primordius located in the Great Depths beneath Tyria? I’m pretty sure exploding a big nuke there wouldn’t be a great idea.

The system is fine how it is. I’ve made two sets and plan on making three more within the next month.
A lot of the cutscenes in this episode do not have any action taking place in the background. I don’t see why those can’t have the option to be skipped.
All of the Aguabreathers I could find listed are from Karma Merchants or drops, all are Soulbound on Acquire. They cannot be sold.
There are some that can be since I have 3 sitting in my personal guild bank.
Search for this in the TP:

the choices for aqua breathers is very limited. to the point that at level 80, I think you have only 2 options, and both are only rare quality (one of them is dropped from tequatl, I forget what the other is, but I feel like there is one).
I am sure there is an aqua breather category in the trading post (which is what I think you’re talking about?), but I’m not sure it’s under the armor category; I think it might be under ‘other’ or something?
i think we got some during a release. I have 3 of the rare ones and I’m pretty sure that I didn’t get them from Teq.
We should get Episode 8 along with Wintersday on the 16th. This will likely be followed by a few week gap until the 13th or 20th for the holidays. We’ll then likely get WvW Tournament: Season 4 while they work on wrapping up LS Season 3.
I suggest not stressing out when trying to get them. Just farm the crests that you need and worry about getting all the parts after the next update. If the trend continues, you’ll have extractors for this update’s parts which you can use after you’ve gotten the parts for the new armor pieces?
Would you really want to spend 7+ hours getting the bladders only to get them again in two weeks as you go for the newer parts? I know that I wouldn’t. It’s also the reason why I’m not spending any crests until the next update as I’d hate to get an armor box drop after I had bought the pieces.
Abusing the contribution system has been going on since launch. Simply hit the boss once and AFK – no point in participating since you’ll get the full rewards regardless. If they made your contribution actually matter, people not running DPS specs would complain and class balancing would become an even bigger issue. If they implemented contribution scoreboards, people would be called out after failed events.
And here comes the solution:
implement a passive system that keeps track of your actions.
Last dmg you’ve applied is more than 30sec ago? you failed the event personally.
You were operating (not afking) a turret at tequatl?
You get the event.Don’t let the contribution scale on the dmg you dealt, but on the actions per minute.
If they drop below – lets say – 10 seconds (one attack every 6 seconds… c’mon even a scrub manages that), you get notified that you did not contributed enough for the event, which means that you get bronze event reward, but no chest (in case of a worldboss / farmfest event). No more AFK’ers or speed-tagger.
You know that a system sucks, if a random, over-tired guy can barf out a better one in 10 min…
This would put too much stress on the servers and could be prone to bugs/glitches.
I was wondering how long it would take you to do your guide considering a couple were a pain. Congrats!
For everyone else, I suggest getting the following:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experimental_Rifle
It helps a lot with the plank jumping.
From another thread:
There’s a bigger technical issue—during “in game” scenes, the NPCs are moving around and things are happening (gadgets might be activating, props may be animating, etc.) and if you just skipped all that, it could lead to some really bizarre behavior. Trying to manually set a “failsafe” to teleport the NPCs, fire off effects, etc. to replicate what the world state is if the cutscene plays is extremely tedious and error prone.
That’s why the old style “dialogue cutscenes” (and the fancy but rare full blown cinematic sequences, like the Order movies and racial intros) are skippable, because we aren’t doing anything to the world while the dialogue plays, so skipping it doesn’t have any effect. We’ve moved away from those, because the in-game scenes are a lot more satisfying, but there’s a trade off.
The story has been fluid.
You call stopping at that cave door fluid? That was the most jarring, frustrating cut-off I’ve ever experienced. I gave me blue balls, seriously. If the entire season was developed as a cohesive package, there would have been no cutoff right there. You wouldn’t even have that door. The only reason for that door is to give you and Jory an excuse to stop and wait till the next episode.
It’s a cliffhanger. Play the entire season from start to finish once the next episode is released.
They are not outliers. Almost everyone I know, including myself, experienced this after a break of two weeks or more.
That’s roughly the equivalent of winning the lottery and attributing it to a specific shirt you wore when you chose your numbers.
Drop rates and how long since you last played have no correlation or connection.
What took the most time for me was trying to figure out whether to drop down or not.
what is the need for a mount? I don’ t get it.
Because WoW has them and they look “epic”.
The big issue I’ve noticed lately over the past few months is that there’s a pattern when it comes to players that are playing every day vs players that are not playing for a long time and come back after a long break. Those players that been gone for a while seem to have increased drop rate. Almost every other friend of mine that came back after a few months break ends up with either really expensive exotic item or a precursor in their hand within a week of them playing again. Is this intentional?
Any how many others that have come back and not had the same luck? You’re just focusing on the outliers.
There was a suggestion on the reddit a few weeks ago to have a party option for Asura to ride on the back of a Charr. It wouldn’t give any movement speed bonus, but it would be really funny. They should make that a thing.
Yeah. That’s a great idea.
You’re actually the first to ask that and that’s such a wonderful idea!
I’m utterly shocked. Two years since the game was released and someone finally brings up the idea about mounts. About time!
Zerker meta is caused by one and only thing, absence of essential “roles” in PvE, aka trinity or similar system.
So until the game gets total overhaul, there will be zerker meta. Anet is clearly ok with that, so there’s no way to change that.tl,dr: take it or leave it.
Most great RPGs don’t have “essential roles” either, yet they have interesting mechanics and encounters. No RPG needs healers and tanks to have good mechanics, the Trinity is strictly used in MMORPGs, nowhere else.
Many games even class based shooters have it disguised in some way shape or form. The key here is that it is entirely optional because of how the game works and not mandatory.
The actually good RPGs don’t have mandatory role requirements either. Those who try to look like MMORPGs are the only ones that do. So all the actually real RPGs are NOT RPGs by that definition…
Sorry I am lost in this statement.
I misunderstood (reading comprehension ftl)
As a more action-based game I agree that Guild Wars 2 could look to other games (non MMORPGs) that have different roles, as inspiration ^^
The “trinity” in the game is DPS/Control/Support, Control and Support need some kind of boost in PVE
Control and support are not standalone roles. They are provided by the entire team.
I finished them all yesterday. Some are more annoying than others such as the one above the speed boost device as you hop off the ship at the start.
I highly suggest getting the experimental rifles from Malchor’s leap as they help a lot. They even let you bypass 90% of the jumping for the one the OP was struggling with.
If you don’t like it that a lot of people who create their LFG prefer people with DPS builds in berserker/assassin gear, then create your own group. Please stop trying to tell players how to play and then being hypocritical about it by stating that you should play how you want to play.
Some people clearly have forgotten GW where some builds were preferred over others. Did that make those other builds not viable? No. They were just not optimal. It’s the same way for this game.
Hardly a lore break. You’re making assumptions and then refuting them.
The problems with not doing Living Story when it is out is that I fall so far behind that I end up in “Who… wait… what?” conversations with everyone I know about the Living Story. Then, the ever more pressing issue is finding the time to dump into all that content I held off on doing later. Better to do it right now than have it bunch up and drown me.
Excellent point. The other issue, if you don’t do the Living Story when it’s released, is that you may end up trying to do them in an area where no one goes to anymore. Or worse, one that requires a huge amount of people (zerg) to complete in order to get the rewards.
It a huge reason everyone rushes to do it now, now, now. Because it may be impossible later.
Nothing from season 2 requires a zerg. Everything can be done very few people. If the complaint that people will stop doing the zones is being used as an argument against the current distribution method, well it wouldn’t be any different under an expansion. The actual story instances can be done solo.
The carapace armor appears to be tied more to the Silverwastes zone than to Living Story season 2.
Who knows, perhaps the season will continue with a new zone after Silverwastes is completed (and a two-week Wintersday break).
After all, Season 2 did not end with Dry Top.
Also remember mawdrey? Still I do kinda feel that we’re getting close to the end of Season 2.
Dude I was expecting Season 2 to focus a lot more on Mordremoth and making actual progress towards engaging him. Instead all we have is a makeshift Pact base, and a bunch of characters running around on tangent side stories with Glint’s egg and stuff. I get that the egg is important, but its a tangential direction for the story to go. How deep does this rabbit hole go? They could have easily just had us catch up with Caithe in THIS release, but no. Instead we have to wait for a SECOND cliffhanger, and who the hell knows if we will even find Caithe next episode? What if they decide to stretch it even further? What if this crap never ends for 7 seasons? Like I’ve said before, this story is quickly becoming like Lost.
In the personal story, how long was it until they actually engaged Zhaitan and the risen directly?
Quite a while I guess, but look at the formatting of the personal story. It was delivered along with the entire game as a whole package. You didn’t have to wait 2 weeks in between instances. Also the story was told as needed, not with 2 week breaks in mind. When you actually plan for a 2 week break, you end up creating unnecessary plot twists, cliffhangers, and stalling. It’s disingenuous story structure.
Then log in every two weeks to get access to the episodes. After the season is over, play through all of them.
You are ignoring the problem of formatting. Even if I waited until the entire season was released before doing it, that doesn’t change the fact that each episode is just a tangent with a cliffhanger. Each of these is just chained together ad nauseam.
If they worked on the whole thing at once and released it at the same time, it would have a more fluid form of story arcs without the arbitrary pauses, cliffhanger,s and cuts.
The story has been fluid. It’s just that the gap between episodes have caused people to forget and give the illusion that there isn’t. You’d see the same thing with TV episodes. I’m pretty sure that the story was completed well in advance of them designing season 2.
It should unlock the item at the vendor.
News Flash: You can still play how you want.

all races: 3rd chapter, right before choosing between the 3 factions.
this would be lvl 30 currently.
They didn’t directly start assaulting Zhaitan until they took back Claw Island. Even then, you could make an argument that it may not have happened until they reached Orr.
I’ll put the grinding for luck this way:
You need 4.3 million luck to max it out if starting from zero.
There have been four hundred and forty days since luck was introduced.
You’d need to earn 9,440 luck per day. It’s improbable to get this much through normal play so you were going out of your way to acquire it.
Edit: Why was the number version of four hundred and forty filtered?
By the way getting a full stack of the 200 luck x 250 = 50k luck is pretty easy to do in a day for TP flippers who salvage and sell the mats for profit. I used to do this while making money and raised my luck doing that in a short period of time. So getting a stack a day you can easily hit the magic find cap in 86 days.
Bolded the part of my post that you missed.
hes saying its normal play for him
fundraising is normal
So I can refute the arguments that people make about the high amount of AP needed for AP skins by stating that they can just grind the AP as that is now considered normal gameplay?
What you’re doing is taking what normal is and tying it subjectively to one person rather than an average across the player base.
The point of my post was that it is not normal for the average player to go out of their way to grind out the luck needed to max out MF. It’s just not something that is commonly done.
