but Beldin is absolutely not right, it is in fact very possible to level your level 70+ chars by having them sitting around low level areas and grabbing every other event. It takes longer than it would on a low level character because of the adjustment, but the experience gain remains significant.
I have not said that .. at least not that i’m aware of it.
Heck i leveled my last characters all to 80 in Dredgehaunt Cliffs.
What i said is only that you can’t powerlevel a low level character with doing
high level stuff, Like going with your level 2 into cursed shore and get 10 levels
for 1 event or whatever.

Blazeridge Steppes and other ascalonian maps have that black area where the corruption is. No matter the weather, if you got there you get blackness.
Yeah .. Blazeridge Steppes, Iron Marches and Fields of Ruin mainly ^^

You can live without JavaScript & Flash
Flash .. yeah .. also Flash is the biggest security hole ever. But use a flashblocker that
at least shows you that there is a blocked flash ^^
JavaScript .. not really .. there are simply so many things that are not possible
without Javasript .. starting with simple things like mouseover-menues and
then Ajax stuff that chnages the page dynamically without having it to reload
after every click.
However, the Newspage works without problems if i save it and delete all JavaScript
from the source-code. So the TE is maybe also blocking Cloudfront or Images
or whatever.

Have you installed it into the “programs” folder ? Never install game there, just
use something like “c:\games\gw2” or whatever.
However, personally i have deactivated the UAC crap, so i don’t know if that is
maybe “normal” behaviour.

There are no words…. there just aren’t.
NO they aren’t “refunding” your armor
NO they aren’t “replacing” anyones armor
NO they aren’t going to give everyone a free stat reroll. How do you know your gear is “soon to be useless”? Have you seen the finalized changes? Do share.
How do you know that any of the things you posted will not happen? Do share, oh that’s right you don’t know do you. There is a very high chance that they will allow a resstat to ascended gear and maybe even exotic, but that is just my opinion, nothing has been confirmed at this stage so please stop acting like you know, because no one does except for Arenanet devs.
Even if we don’t know it, we highly expect it, and expecting a refund would only
lead to frustration.
So if we get some .. wow .. nice. But .. don’t expect it.

How is what I suggested, a designated area for dueling, a game breaking feature that suddenly turns the game into Aion?
…maybe this was a bad idea to post something like this. I forgot the GW2 community hates everything. :\
Sorry .. that wasn’t about your thread.
Just about the person i quoted .. since that was exactly why a lot of people here
don’t want any kind of duels in PvE.
The PvP folks that like to name call others have their basement, and were happy
when they don’t invade the open world ^^
But i have no problems with Arenas, and also other players have stated the often
enough in other duelz-threads .. however in the end there were always people
that simply want to duel in the open world .. and can’t understand whay we
“sissies” don’t want that.

I wonder have you ever played another MMO, where you grinded raids for 1 year
to finally get the perfect armor, and then a new expansion is released where the
blue gear from quests after 2 levels is suddenly as good as your gear ?
Do you think they will refund you ? Heck you have even payed for it that they made
all your progress worth nothing.
Oh and mostly in the new zones there you suddenly earn 5-10 times more money
than before, so that suddenly all the money you grinded for the last 2 years is now
something you can get in some weeks.

Yeah but I don’t use Overwolf, I don’t like it, I prefer Project Kryptonite or the old TS3Overlay.
Yeah .. i tried Overwolf at the time 1-2 years ago when TSOverlay wasn’t working
after a TS3 update, and they wrote it will no longer be supported. God thanks
they changed that back and the overlay works again .. since i really had no plan
how to make Overwolf work to just show me what TSOverlay does ^^

ok, so if I am reading the table correctly, a level one player needs 2000 xp to get to level two. so a Level 1 event will reward 7% of 2000 which is 140 xp.
A level 5 player needs 2999 xp to get to next level, which 7% of is 209.93xp.
So if that level one player does a level 5 event he will receive 209.93 xp
Nope .. he will get 7% of the exp he needed to get to level 2, so thats still 140xp.
Afaik you will not get more than those 7% .. only less if you are quite some levels
higher than the level of the event.
And that also makes sense, since else you could powerlevel characters with
shuttling them to higher level events where they only need one hit while
high leve character complete the event.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Well that seems more due to a limit on how many players damage are tracked at a boss event. If you aren’t one of the first X who attack the boss, or part of a party with a member who was, you simply miss out. The reason for players LFG at a boss events before the boss appears. Or so I’m told.
Yeah .. its however mainly about lootbags from bosses.
Since Megaserver for example when you do maw, do one run where you go and
shoot down the portals at the last preevent .. this time you mostly wont get
a bag from the shamen.
Now second try ignore the portals and directly start attacking the shaman even if
he is still invulnerable .. this time you would mostly get a bag.
For the bronze, silver, gold .. don’t know .. so often i get gold for events where i
didn’t even knew what exactly i did .. and then i get bronze where i was fighting
quite a while.
Sometimes it seems its something like damage done relative to time you were
at the event. In other events you just need to kill one mob to get gold.

They simply don’t have an engine team. No work has been done on the engine since the culling’s removal.
^ Mainly this. Like in every other MMO.
The engine is more or less ready in the end before they start to design the game world
so there is simply ne engine team needed for most of the time.

Desirable loot is incentive to keep playing the game
I think thats not the problem. The problem for me is always when people want
to have loot that only they can get, because they are able to click the mouse
100 times per second, while all those “noobs” that can only click 10 per second
can’t get that loot.
So its not about getting loot, but more to prevent others getting good loot.

Even if you fail to dodge something, you can press Reflex, Signet of Stone or Swoop (GS #3) to stop all damage. And autoattack will also evade tons of damage by itself.
Something like Knight stats and you won’t be short on damage, way better than Longbow + better AoE.
Longbow 5 followed by 3 is great AoE with nice single-target burst. Even better with
signet of the hunt castet before it.
You can switch to greatsword if after that still more than 1 mobs are alive ^^

First make sure that your windows is not automatically rebooting on bluescreens,
so that you will notice if you have a bluescreen.

Ok .. now if you have a bluescreen, you may write us what the bluescreen shows.
Especially if there is something like :
Error in Module XX (nvdisp.dll for example)
If your computer is still simply rebooting or turning off its mostly your PSU that shuts
down when your PC needs more power than it can deliver.
And yeah .. it may have worked till now .. but PSUs can “age” .. and also other stuff may
still run, but GW2 stresses your PC a lot and so it needs a lot of power.

I’d say ranger for Silverwastes .. for all other zones go warrior .. or guardian.
On boss fights in the open world .. just used ranged .. bow as warrior, scepter as guardian.
Even if you you do less damage ranged, its still more than you do as a dead player

Probably going to be a while they are basically rebuilding the engineer trait lines and that will probably take time. Let’s hope they don’t already have a set internal deadline as that could lead to some shoddy balance/design.
In the end the real balance problems will show up a while after its released and the
players find out some clever ways to combine skills and get effects that noone
ever thought of.
I would say nobody would ever be able to forsee all the possible things that players
will find out before you release it.

If you didn’t want flowery/grassy footfalls, then Kudzu was probably a poor choice for a legendary.
So what can i do, when there is not another legendary longbow? And i am not talking about change footsteps, but get choice into a game to manage it as you want
.. just like with GS.. just have choice of 1 or 2 another footstep animations.. e.g. black/red or something like this.. Should be nice for appearence.. And i think a lot of ppl will be happy with this

I’ve suggested this before, and I’ll suggest it again. I’d love to see a system implemented like Eso and Tera where the mouse locks to the camera rotation unless you’re using it for the UI. My mouse is fine, but my middle finger has been feeling out of sorts because of constantly holding down the right mouse button.
If you mean what i call “shooter control” .. then god no .. i hate it when the camera
shakes all the time just because i move my mouse a little bit. Also i like to turn my
camera while running in a different direction or in fight and click some skill with
my mouse.Shakes all the time? Do you have Parkinson’s? I have never had a problem with the camera in games like Dragon Nest or TERA.
TERA i managed at least to play for 2 days .. but it felt really like physical work for me.
Other games like DCUO, Vindictus and Neverwinter with that kind of controls i
deleted right after trying it for 10-15 minutes.
My biggest fear before finally playing GW2 was, that it maybe also had this kind
of controls .. thanks god it still has MMO style controls.
However if its optional i have no problems with it. But all these other games also
don’t have the option for a MMO type of control. I never understood that especially
for Neverwinter, since it uses the same Engine (more or less) than Champions Online
and CO was great to play .. a lot like GW2 already in some cases.

I’d like some time frame to be given (I’m not demanding or expecting this, I’d just like it). That way I could figure out how hard to work on garnering skill points. I only have 3 alts to boost to 65 challenges done now, and then I can start boosting further in anticipation of HoT and elite specs. But there’s also SW farming for a portal to do, and creative writing, and other games, etc. It’s hard to budget time without knowing the deadlines
And then short before release they change that .. and you did all that for nothing ^^
Nah .. i think i simply wait and do the skillpoints when i really need them. And i
think that also something between 420-450 points is enough to play with

Back when they were testing(assuming this) the ticket system with Dragon Coffers, and Dragon’s Jade claim tickets, many people requested some sort of scrap system in response to them opening thousands of coffers and not getting a ticket.
I’m guessing they kept this in mind when they first released Black Lion Claim Tickets.
Molten Skins were there already before Dragons Jade.
At that time we only had full tickets, and the skin were not even tradeable.
Later they made the skins tradable, and at some point they invented the scraps
so that it looks more like you do some steps into the direction of your goal
instead of get nothing at all and just wait for the rare RNG drop.

That shows 3GB being used which if I remember is the limit for 32-bit apps with the large memory limit flag set on a 32-bit OS. The game may be coded to not go beyond that even on a 64-bit OS where 4GB is allowed.
The limit is 4GB and normally around 500 mb are used to map system stuff, so the
crashing mostly happens around 3,5 GB in most cases.
However .. we talk also about NVidia here, and who knows what they did again
with their drivers ..

I would love to have seen this and that Countess Anisse outfits come to us as armor sets. They’re nice but the mix and match possibilities would have been better.
I think this is fine as an outfit, since it looks mostly like a mix from ascended legs
with carapace or some other light armor stuff (on females). So not much need
to use it on females that wear light armor, but nice if you want that look on
other professions.

There is no “high risk” in games without perma-death. Or where at least your
items can vanish forever if they took too much damage. So what exactly do you “risk” that you think you should have better rewards
over people that in your opinion don’t risk the same ?When I say high risk in games like Gw2 I mean hard content. Content which takes some actual brain power. Not content that you can do while watching a show or reading a book.
Dont get me wrong though. There should be content in the game that someone can grind without too much effort that makes decent gold. But for that to net more gold than high lvl fractals is absurd.
In most MMOs that so called “hard content” for what people for years learned that
they deserved the best loot, was also mostly annoying brain-dead stuff where you
just had to press your buttons like a trained ape in whenever your add-on or
ACT told you.
I’m personally happy that i don’t have to play stuff here that i personally hate just
to get the phat loot. People also often say they want hard stuff just because they
like it, and not for the loot. So if its fun for you play it because its fun, but don’t
force others to feel like they now must play things they hate, because that the way
to get the best loot.

Or in other words : Dungeon are no fun .. its only the reward.

Using full Knight will give you 72% of the dps of full beserker. Using knight armor with beserker trinket and weapons will give you 92% of the dps of a full beserker.
That’s not too bad by itself. The problem is that usually people using that kind of gear don’t really worry about optimizing other stuff. Not using good food and potion will drop full knigth from 72% to 62%. Not have the right sigils will drop your dps to 54%. Not have a good build, weapons and rotation will drop it even more.
Not using good food and potion will drop full Berserker of course also from 100% to 90%.
In the end the gear itself is much less of a factor than people always make it sound
in the forums. The correct traits and stacking of might vuln and so on are much
more important.
A group that kills a mob in 10s with full bersi will mostly kill the same mob in
13s in full knights, soldier or celestial.

Thats why i’m still one of the few that prefer LS1 very much over LS2.
Yeah it was temporary .. but when it ended you also were mostly sick of it and
something new was coming. Now LS2 .. its not temporary, but i have no interest
to play those solo instances with annoying endless mob fights that drop no loot
more than once .. not even for the achievements.
So in the end for me its even worse than temporary .. only that Silver Wastes is
a little better as a new zone than Karka Isle was.
