I really like underwater scenery and the combat is not bad like many people believe. Also, frostgorge sound is my favourite zone because of the massively deep water and the little quaggan villages on the bottom, which just add to the already amazing scenery.

The scenery is nice often .. i especially liked Bloodtide Coast .. but the combat was
simply terrible especially at the beginning, and since then i avoided it like a plague.

If somebody remembers maybe the time when underwater maobs were invincible
all the time, and when you just saw 1 mob and pulled him, and suddenly out of
nowhere you had 5-6 mobs around you .. and if you managed to bring 1 down
to 5% suddenly he was again invincible .. and that all as a guardian .. -shudder-

Or that personal story instance in Straits of Devastation .. where the mobs were
in the walls all the time ..

I was just curious and tryed out what Ashley Segovia Technical Support tells.
Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -nosound
Testing it for some time now and since then no crash so it seems something is not right in the coding for sound cards couse my card isn’t defective (2 local specialist already looked into my pc and all in good shape) will test for a few more days then will contact support about it.
Try it out guys perhaps u are in the same shoe.

Reminds me of the problems i had with NVidia driver when i played Age of Conan
and RoM and had bluescreens all the time.

Years later (when i already used ATI again) i read in the Lotro forums that NVidia
often uses the same memory addresses than SB-Live soundcards and thats were
maybe the reasons for all my problems.

So yeah .. try to play without sound .. maybe even disable it in your Bios if yoi use
onboard, or remove your soundcard, and test it.

Have you tryed this :

Create the folder C:\users

and inside that create a folder, % username % <- no spaces(Stupid Forum), so that your currently installed username gets populated for the folder name.

now go and find “\??\C:\User\Docume~1\Locals~1\Temp\bin\CoherentUI.exe” under your docs and settings profile, and move it to the correct folder location under the new c:\users\%username%\appdata\localdata\temp\bin\

restart the game and see if that helps. If not, then you are stuck needing a new OS.

It seemed like there was a way to get rid of the bobble heads last year. I think I just logged off and on and it was gone? Something like that.

Last year you could change the date from your windows clock back for 1 or more days
and it was (mostly) gone. However this didn’t works this year.

Its an old option .. but make sure that the camera shaking is not enabled.

- Download older driver
- deinstall actual driver
- reboot PC
- install older drivers.

In case of NVidia i would also maybe make a google search for what driver version
is mostly stable.

As for the inflation, there’s more to it than just increasing the money from events would cause it. If people don’t believe there are those out there turning gems to gold, then you aren’t being realistic. Basically, John would have to be looking at the numbers to see how this would impact the economy, how much this could add to inflation (because gems to gold causes inflation as well), and would have to implement new ways to remove gold to help curve inflation. Right now, the biggest gold sink is gold to gems.

Once again : Gem to Gold does NOT create gold out of thin air.

It works much like the TP only that someone exchanges his gold against gems of
another player instead of mats/weapons/armor.

There is no gold created at all .. there is even some gold removed for fees.

In the last 2 days i had 2 times the following problem :

-logged out in Dredgehaunt Cliffs in the spider cave where the rich iron veins are.

-logged back in again on other guest-server

They have changed that in Silverwastes .. all the Mordrem mobs there drop nearly
nothing, so you either get the event reward or nothing.
However that also feels often like you just kill masses of mobs for nothing.

Before that we had no timers at world events, and you could even do Claw of Jormag

Now everything has timers, and people already want to kick people from the map
in Silverwaste if they are AFK or if they are dead and don’t port as fast as possible.

The ones I’ve seen had nonsense names, which normally means accounts that were bought. Kind of strange they should pop up so long after the last sale instead of right after the sale, unless I just didn’t get any right after the sale.

If they are bought they are normally bought with stolen credit card infos.

The goldseller wouldn’t make money if they bought accounts, that are mostly banned
in maybe 1-2 hours, for their own money.

All all the problems i think this game has, this one is on the bottom of the list because of the very nature of the community.

In the end it comes down to playstyle. The more competitive a playstyle is, the higher
the chance you get to hear harsher words.

So normally you will not hear much in open world here where everyone just happily
plays together .. but it gets harsher in PvP and also Dungeons.

Also the mechanism of Silverwaste leads to more toxic behaviour because there is
a highter chance to fail than at the old world bosses.
At that point i also try to ask myself if it is really wise to make open world content
harder just for those people that want raids, and carry that behaviour into the
open world .. or better give them their instanced holes, to keep the open world
more friendly.

The problem is NOT to identify posts from ANet .. the problem is that people
think that every mail where someone asks for your stuff is also from ANet even

So it won’t help in anyway if real mails from ANet shows bigger logos or have
extra folders or whatever ^^

No offense but XP-64 never had good driver support for gaming and XP is not
beeing supportet by MS anyway .. so maybe you should really think about
upgrading from that ancient system.

They should hide the message entirely and replace it with a warning that states the message was sent by a player. The message should then show a checkbox stating that if you fall for it, you agree to waive your right to an appeal. It should then end with a captcha and an accept button, which will then reveal the original message.

The problem with that is, that you annoy most of the players who just want to read
their mails to hell with that stuff, just because you want to reach a very view people
who you mostly never will reach no matter what you do.

Its like allowing only to drive 5 mph on all streets worldwide, because maybe there
is an ape driving a car, and apes are bad drivers.

EQ2 was the first MMO i played that implemented extra outfit slots. Not sure if
it was before or after release of LotRO.
Aion also had a transmutation system like GW2s initial system. And Rift of course
also had a system like EQ2 / LotRO already since years.

The IP is simply needed to identify a map since megaserver. Before you just had
to select your servername.

He has two alt accounts and two computers to run them from. So, he could harvest it on his main account, take the second account in to harvest a second time, and then take the third account in to harvest a third time.

Ok .. but then he would also have to clients running at the same time to invite
account 2 and 3 with the first account into the instance with the node.

Would be so much easier just to port to Timberline Falls and mine the permanent
rich vein there .. and if you do that with 3 accounts you have 30 instead of 9.
And of course you can mine that one also with every single character ^^

DR stops all drops it’s not tuned to key for only certain items and it’s used to stop loot period.

Tell that to the people who reported not getting any loot and people who are still reporting whole chests disappearing from events.

I have farmed hundreds of hours Arctodus in FGS for T6 mats, and often noted
every 30 minutes how much i got .. and even after farming for 10 hours the
numbers didn’t change, beside the usual RNG.

And people complain about much while having no real clue .. i only have to look
about all those lag threads. Wish really people would need a driver license for
the internet.

And yes .. there is DR after maybe an hour .. i really notice that stuff like weapons
and armor gets less .. but like i said .. it doesn’t affect crafting mats. T6 and T5
blood, claws and fangs drop the same even after farming 10 hours at the same
spot.

Its an exploit if you have to do very specific stuff to achieve that .. its not an exploit
if it happens just because you logged in an played the game “normally”.

Thats the big difference .. and heck .. it was a BETA .. betas are also there to find out
bugs and exploits and then post them so the devs can fix them.

For me it looks as if they use the same database for beta than we use for the life game.

So in the end they maybe need to use a procedure that deletes all that stuff from
the database whenever you login with a normal character now. Or they need
to create extra tables for the beta and use a union select over both tables for beta
chars.
