I just explored the 3 Orr maps yesterday for the very first time to 100% .. lol
Else after my first 2-3 chars i very much ignored them, after the tunnel farming
that was popular in the beginning, was nerfed.
In the end, one of the beauties of this game is, that you are not forced to play anything
or anywhere that you don’t enjoy. You don’t even have to play in level 80 maps
Beside the mobs i also simply don’t like the depressing atmospheres there, and much
prefer the shiverpeaks, or something more sunny like Silverwastes.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Warning: Speculation ahead.
Burning and poision will not stack like bleeding. they will stack once per player. The stacking is just to allow multiple players to have conditions on a target in dungeons and whatnot without losing DPS after the first guy uses them.
The point of burning was, and always will be, to have decent condition damage on a target without having to spec into condition damage.
I hope so, since conditons are maybe not good against mobs in PvE, but they are
totally bad against players and even one stack burning melts you life often faster
then everything else.
I really don’t want to see condition mobs get even worse, and they are relly much
worse than any mobs that do just direct damage.

Copy the .dat and the .exe and make sure they are located in the same folder.
Also don’t put it into the programs folder, uses something like /games/gw2

Necro problem mostly i think. As a warrior i’m fine with it, and having bigger
effects on bigger enemies would maybe be over the top.
And also instead of the fancy aura we have the frozen arms ^^

If you use gw2setup.exe, rename it to gw2.exe and put it where you want the game
to be installed. Don’t put it into the “programs” folder, since that has often problems
with microsofts security rules.
Also to reset your settings you don’t need to reinstall the game, but delete the
local.dat

Mmmm….. Quite maybe.
How would one go about moving it to a different portion of the hard drive? I have a 1TB hard drive, if that helps. With a 120GB SSD with Windows on it.
Moving doesn’t help .. copy it .. that makes sure the copy doesn’t use the same
sectors than the original installation.
Also use something like http://www.ariolic.com/activesmart/index.html to check
the status of your harddrive.

You are an unlucky one. Every map I get on is a normal do the events, not seen a chests farm map in ages.
On my maps there are no chest farmers, but i also never see people doing events.
Only when the map is at 90%+ suddenly they all appear out of nowhere.
Problem are not the chests but the whole shuttle mechanisms.

No. I got the owl yesterday and I’ll have to delete it because I already payed for one.

It needs to have a lot more health and the immediate pre-event (the one where you wait for several minutes, not the one where you escort the golem) needs to be removed.
Oh yeah .. “waiting for Godot” is how i call that event personally :/

What level lumber were you looking at? The only ones with a timer like that are the ancient saplings.
Yeah .. else i don’t know about problems with wood.
For metal however, what a lot of people don’t know, there is also a maximum for
Mithril Ore. So when you harvest mithril it could happen that suddenly all nodes
get invisible, and that you maybe can’t even harvest the full number of ores from
your actual node.
Also that is bound to specific maps, and doesn’t happen on ALL maps.

Yeah, happens a lot to me since the camera-patch.
Often its that i am portet to another zone entry, in Dredgehaunt Cliffs its the entry
that leads to Lornars Pass, in Timberline Falls its the entry to Dredgehaunt Cliffs.
Yesterday i was also for the first time warped back from Dredgehaunt Cliffs to
Lions Arch.
I noted that in the character select screen i also still had the background image
of LA when that happened.

Have you tried to change some of these options :
Camera
Sliders
Rotation Speed — How fast the camera rotates when you move your mouse.
Horizontal Position — Controls how much the camera is shifted to the left or right of your character. Centering the slider will place the camera directly behind your character.
Vertical Position — Controls how much camera height increases as you zoom out.
Collision Sensitivity — Controls how readily the camera will ignore obstructions between itself and your character.
Zoom Sensitivity — Controls how quickly zooming in and out occurs.
Field of ViewCheck boxes
Invert Camera Y-Axis — Reverses Y-axis camera movement with the mouse.
Enable Camera Shake — Certain skills and environmental effects (e.g. using Earthshaker, when the Shatterer lands) will cause the camera to shake. This may cause dizziness or motion sickness to some people.
Use Free Camera — Normally, the camera will automatically snap to face the same direction as your character when you are moving. This option disables that function, for completely “free” camera control.
Enable First-Person Camera — To enter first-person mode, zoom in again while at minimum camera zoom.
Adjust Camera to Character Height — When unchecked, the camera will be placed at the same height regardless of your character size.

I am getting conflicting rumours (here on the forums, in games & from social media ( YT sites) about the nerf to celestial gear (coming up, perhaps with the trait re-vamp) and perhaps this a spot to ask for clarification:
1. Are the devs talking about a PvP nerf only, or will it affect PvE/WvW gear too?
2. Is the nerf really the “10%” I hear lots of people talk about?
3. Where is the source (“dev quote”) that started all that rumbling about Celestial gear? Thanks for on the spot answers, please do not reply with another rumour.

Every time they changed stats on gear Celestial lost more than other gear.
Magic find was simply removed without getting something else, we lost the
higher crit-damge when crit-damage was changed to ferocity.
I don’t really expect that to be different this time, especially since they now
already said they will nerf it for Pvp.

You can read the level rewards to see when each unlock or when you get information about them.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Level_rewardsThis is exactly what I wanted. Thise in her first MMO, so had to learn the mechanics of moving the player, shooting, etc, as well as the general objectives of questing, exploring, and mundane things like banking, repairing, merchanting and the TP.
She’s learning it so we can play with her kids (10 and
and she can lead them through the startup first hand. where she can see their screens. I have 7 level 80’s, the least equipped of which is full exotic + ascended 2H + ascended coat. There’s not much in the game I want to do the I can’t do solo, so the 4 of us should be able to overcome most stuff if I just lay back and let them play, and cover up overpulls, etc. We have our own ventrilo, and headsets, so should be fun.
Your link shows when things unlock, but I’m confused by the banking part. My next agenda was to go inside Rata Sum, get the WP’s needed for banking/repairing/TP etc. Will she be able to use her bank or does it have to wait for unlock? Same for TP, as she got a box of crafting supplies in the daily reward and I was going to use that to show her how to use the TP. I don’t want to run her character around, best she get the experience live, so the only way to know is to ask here, of let her fail (which looks like a bug, of course) and then log her in myself and look.
So: does banking work and or TP work for level 3, or do I need to wait to “unlock”? What the heck does a veteran do these days with a new char? I think I understand the load of “skip to level 20” tokens I’m getting on the 80’s.
I think the only thing that really needs to be unlocked are the skill challenges.
Everything else works, even if it is not shown on the map. I was for example
able to complete 100% of Hoelbrak on my new account at level 3, even since i
didn’t saw Vistas and POIs on the map.
I also used the bank and TP at level 2.

All you really need is to know your login-name and your password since everything
is saved on ANets servers.
However if you only have an email with you keycode it wouldn’t be bad to
make sure you have a backup in any form .. may it be a txt.file or just written
down on a piece of paper-

My first char took 130 hours .. my last char (nr. 17) took 19 hours.
I think ANet said in the beginning that it should take normally 1-1.5 hours per level
but in the end it makes a big difference how many events you do in a given time.

Its a browser window .. who cares about the FPS of a browser ?
The only animated piece there mostly is the blinking cursor.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I really don’t like that at all.
At the moment using for example soldiers or knights armor instead of berserker
gives you 12-13% less damage.
Now after the change that would be a much bigger difference (maybe 20 or 25%? )
and especially if you made ascended armor it would be really bad to notice that
what works greatbefore no suddenly is maybe totally bad.
Gear was in the end only a small part of a “zerker-build” till now. After that change
it will be a much bigger part.

Big question for me is also :
Does it make any sense to buy Traits that i don’t have on new chars, or should i
spare all those points .. or just use them for mystic forge stuff already.
And do i now really have to do all those skill challenges because a character that
has only 20% world will be much worse than one with 100% ?

But if you head out to Timberline Falls or Harathi Hinterlands or any other mid-level map and it’s not required for the daily you could definitely be forgiven for thinking the game is 1/2 empty.
Haha .. do you remember how Timberline Falls was before the megaserver ?
You could stand beside the rich platin node there at morning 3-4:00 and just log out
and login in, and the node was again there because the map was closed and create
new when you were the only player on a map.

Hey .. leave my norns alone. Most of my characters are norn, i prefer Hoelbrak over LA
and play mostly in Dredgehaunt Cliffs, Timberline Falls and Frostgorge.
Also i would have really liked it more to go against Jormag than against all those

They should have added some temporary content before leaving us in the dark, as they’ll be busy for the next few months.
Sure, I remember hearing that “there won’t be any content during the process of developing HoT”, or something along those lines, but even so, doesn’t change the fact it is a terrible idea to leave us with nothing to occupy our time and money.
1. SAB,
2. Season 1 events.
You could have spent a week going threw a few bugs while giving us a re-hash of some old content.
Say thanks to all the people that constantly wrote that they don’t want any more
temp content and better just an expansion every 2 years, and when they have
burned through it in 2-4 weeks they will gladly wait another 2 years until the
next expansion.

Like other said, you can’t kill exp or loot here, so there is nothing wrong with
helping other players to kill mobs that they already fight against.
This makes the game also much more social than other MMOs where other
players indeed can steal your mobs / loot, and you often maybe think its the
best if there are no other players around.

Sorry but something can’t be right here. The characters a saved on ANets Servers,
and a client crash will never delete a character, since .. like i said .. they are saved
on the servers, and they will stay there and wait for you to login again.
Or does he mean he crashes while creating the character ? In that case of course
the character hasn’t been saved and so will be lost. But not if he actually has
created the character and start playing.

Rebooting mostly is a problem with an aged PSU that simply shuts down if it is not
able to deliver enough power when the PC is under heavy stress.Ofc make sure first if automatic reboot on system errors is disabled, else its maybe
a bluescreen that you simply don’t see.Automatic reboot on errors is enabled so there most likely was a BSoD I couldn’t see.
Disable it, so you can be sure if it is a bluescreen or not the next time.
You have to reboot once to make it really work i think.

You can’t downlevel character here, and i never heared of a bug that makes this happen.
So its really only that your memory is maybe not correct about your level. And like

to play story parts that were higher than your level.

Well HoT new non tradeable legendary may pull me enough to start working on one provided that they set it so everything related to them is not tradeable too.
There is no point (for me) to get one while they are just measure of farming/wallet. If they put it behind a lot of hard content (mandatory dungeons and WWW should included too, but most important part should be done solo) then I may be interested again.

Yes, I did my research. No need to give me googel links..
1 long 2 short beep means a Monitor or display card error. Which is what I said.
If you did your research why do you ask here in the GW2 forum, since then you
should know that your problem is a hardware problem and in no way related
to GW2.
