Yak’s Bend Server
Crimethink [ct]
Unless you have a lot of in game gold, there isn’t an easy way. You need hero armor, elite armor, minis, and Oppressor/Tormented/Destroyer weapons. If you got the money to spend, go for it. Otherwise you gotta grind. Bear in mind you only need 6 points for the armor skins, and you get 3 just for linking accounts. If you can get 3 more with the stuff I listed your golden.
Pointless! It’s all pointless! There is no point to the pointlessness of this point at this point! Don’t try to make a point, there’s no point! Which by itself is a good point!
For those of you whining about this… do you have any idea how much it costs to keep servers synced between continents? No you dont its readily apperant from your posting. You also dont seem to realise its not simply a matter of sending the data from one data center to the other, not do you seem to realise the issues with global routing, peering of tier 3 networks, BGP and several other issues that crop up when you try to do this globally. Ya all sound like spoiled kids. wha wha I could do this in GW1.. well GW1 isnt GW2 you assume they work the same network wise but they dont.
So… AN completely changed their story on how guesting would work AFTER taking our money (while leaving the original statements still up on their FAQ and website for extra facepalm points) but yet we are the “spoiled kids” for not lapping it up?
I don’t know if I should mock or pity you.
I see no break in promises on this. At no point did ANet say that guesting would be available between European and American servers, just that guesting would be an available option. It may be nitpicking on specifics, but at no point did they go into exact details on exactly what guesting would entail.
I still say the whole argument is pointless.
lol, the anti-MF crowd came by, I see.
Yes, because it’s so unreasonable for people that have a problem with MF to answer someone’s question as to why people hate it.
So very, VERY unreasonable. It’s one thing to answer it. It’s another to browbeat everyone who disagrees with you, which is what you’re doing.
It’s one thing to browbeat those who disagree, it’s an entirely worse thing to categorically dismiss math because it doesn’t fit your worldview.
It doesn’t matter what the math says, because the math doesn’t necessarily apply to the person using magic find. It’s only valid if it applies to a specific person’s play style. The person using MF is looking to get better drops, end of story. And again, the statistics don’t matter anyway because the only person any player is responsible to for their gear and stats is themselves.
The Magic Find argument is completely moot at any rate, no matter the statistics, examples, and the inclusion of other factors such as builds and the players actual abilities. Why do I say this? For one reason and one reason only… no player in this game is in any way responsible to the other players for what gear they wear. You do not have to reveal how your gear is set up, what the stats are, or what your build is. Each player is responsible only to themselves. You don’t like my MF gear? Tough, I paid for it, worked for it, and I’m gonna wear it anyway. Enough said.
Honestly, if people want to PvP duel in a closed arena, I’m all for it. Go knock yourselves out. However, it’s my opinion that dueling should only be kept in said arena, not in open world. Also, if such an arena system were set up, keep dueling requests in said arena. Again, please don’t put such a thing in open world. Being blasted with PM’s and dueling requests while I’m doing map completion is not my idea of fun.
Three big updates in the next three months. Bugs being worked on. DON’T PANIC!!!
What exactly do you mean by “specials?” Did you mean events? Trading Post?
There isn’t a way to auto-attack in GW2. You actually have to follow the enemy around and actively use skills. There is no default attack.
Seen on a bear ranger pet “Sits in woods”
I’m a 4 year vet of GW1 and I have to say that I’m loving GW2. My play time has decreased as of late, but that’s due more to life constraints rather than an unwillingness to play. I don’t find myself bored in the least, but rather wishing I had more time to play so that I can do what I want with my characters.
It should also be pointed out that the TOS does say that ANet has the right to force a name change to any potentially offensive names, up to and including alternative spellings of swear words, gods (mythological or otherwise), and even copyrighted names from other games.
I haven’t heard of anything that will increase stats like Divinity does. What are you trying to build up, exactly?
There’s always a chance when using the Mystic Forge that the item you get back will be of higher rarity. In this case I’d say you lucked out.
I’m leaning closer to 1 rather than 2. I did enjoy it a great deal, but the toys in the PvE maps were way over powered and there could have been a better chance for the better rewards dropping. Still, it was fun!
Honestly? I made one and I have no regrets. I have it on a character with a Karka earring and a full set of superior runes of divinity. I intend to go for the Ascended rings, but otherwise I’m very happy with the outcome.
Yes you can. The only requirement for the gifts is that the crafting profession be maxed out. However, in order to equip the legendary, you’ll need to be level 80.
At this point there is no charge to transfer between worlds. There is a time limit though, once every seven days. This was to prevent unfair advantages in WvWvW.
Admittedly it was the only one I could afford, but I got my roommate the spear gun precursor weapon so she could work on a legendary.
Pinder, the Karma you get from the Jug is fixed unless increased by a booster or guild boost. It’s not scaled. As for the Karma Guild upgrade, I believe Seer is right, it only applies to Karma gained from events.
Would somebody just answer his question? He didn’t start this thread to hear people bash magic find. That argument is just beating a dead horse anyway, nobody’s going to agree. At any rate… the higher your MF, the higher chance you get of getting rare or exotic drops. However, farming Fractals, being inundated with persons such as above, may not be the best place to use it. The drop rate is pretty high in there from chests anyway. Personally, were I you I’d go with power/pres because condition damage is based on whether your attack has inflicted a condition or not.
I have to agree, I’ve had an absolute blast with Wintersday. Keep at it ANet!
Personally I farm the Frozen Maw. Not just the meta event, but the other five around it. I can usually make a gold every hour or so. Not to mention the Karma.
It worked perfectly! Thank you!
I accidentally sold my Conqueror’s Pauldron armor skin on my guardian and didn’t realize it until it was too late to get it back. Is there another way I can get the skin again?
I’m not having any lag at all. To be honest you may want to contact your ISP, or reset your modem/router. I find this clears up lag in a big hurry.
Another trick used by gamers is to make a unique e-mail and a unique password specifically for GW2, and have different passwords for each. Another hacking technique is to steal log on information from forums and other sites and try using that info in the game. They get a hit often enough to keep doing it.
Nope, never even heard of it till I started reading this forum… probably the biggest mistake of my life, reading these forums, lol.
Makes you wonder how much gold it took just to list it, huh?
One has to call into question where exactly xfire is getting their information. The developers have already said they are not releasing population info about the servers.
The sword is soul bound on use, so technically it can be sold. I see it too. I wish the seller luck in actually finding a buyer.
There might be some still available on the Trading Post, but at this point that’s the only way to get them. If you managed to get the crafting recipes you could craft three of them.
Thanks I’m not worried about the monthly achievement. I wanted to know because of the trophy you need to trade for ascended rings.
Would anybody be able to answer this for me, please? Thank you!
For those wondering, the holiday mini’s don’t count towards the collector’s title. Also, it is completely possible to get the holiday mini’s in game without spending a single cent in real money. It just takes time. And lastly, I’m beginning to think that some people just look for any excuse to gripe, complain, moan, groan, rant, rave, and generally make a mess of things just because they can. This thread is a prime example. Don’t like the jumping puzzle? Then complain to the other complainers that said that the Halloween puzzle was too hard. The puzzle was designed with them in mind. Don’t like account bound mini’s? Blame the people who complained that they cost too much in the gem store. Don’t like the activities in LA? Blame the people who said there wasn’t enough to do on Halloween. You have only yourselves to blame. Instead of complaining, how about going out and playing the game?
Ok, I have a question about Fractals Daily. Do you have to complete your daily achievement while in Fractals for it to count? Or is there a certain amount of Fractals that you have to do per day as it’s own achievement? How does this work exactly? I know people will flame me for being an idiot but I’ve been leveling an alt for Fractals so I haven’t done any yet.
Everybody’s dead, Dave.
No, everybody’s dead, Dave.
Everybody’s dead. Everybody is dead, Dave.
I should never have let him out in the first place…
I’m beginning to think that some people look for any excuse to complain about something.
Just about every game company does this, even after the game releases. Even Pokemon has promotions where you get a certain critter if you get the game at a certain time after it’s been released. It’s just a promotion to bring in more players. I’m sick of seeing this sort of thing.
Piaskowy, there isn’t a system in game that allows someone to check gear stats, and given the number of skins in game it’s impossible to tell from that either. And don’t listen to the MF haters. That argument has gone full circle with neither side actually proving that their side is correct. Wear whatever gear you want and have fun. If they don’t like your MF gear in that group find another one.
I have yet to see an exotic or rare aqua breather. There is a Karma trader in Orr that has one for a level 80 character, and there’s a level 20 that you can get the crafting recipe for, but that’s as far as they go.
You will be able to do the events for each city again once Tixx reaches LA.
Ahh, thank you, you’re right.
I got the e-mail from NCSoft saying that the event went from the 13th to the 2nd, and the website says 14th to the 3rd. So which is it?
Are you sure we’re playing the same game? Were the events buggy? Yes, they were buggy. However I found them to be quite enjoyable and well worth the time and effort. I don’t see how Winter’s Day will be any different.
Personally I’d just use the word “marklar” from south park. especially since everything and everyone is refereed to as marklar.
I would assume yes, on the 14th.
Welcome to GW2!!!! The only bit of advice I can offer is to stay away from this General Discussion area and ignore all the haters.
And still the rest of us are wondering why it’s being made such a big issue.
