Yak’s Bend Server
Crimethink [ct]
I forget the NPC but I heard it in Timberline Falls… “How much grog could a quaggan quaff if a quaggan could quaff grog?”
Back at the start of the game this was always a possibility. However that issue was removed quite a while ago. If you waypoint within the same map, you won’t be forced on to an overflow server.
And so the poor dead horse continues to be beaten with the big ugly P2W stick. Seriously guys, I’m surprised there’s anything left there to beat. Let the poor thing decompose and get back to gaming like the good little gamer geeks we are.
Atavus, yes, yes they do. The pick-ax and the fore mentioned ore nodes are not P2W because you CAN get sprockets and those ores in game without having to even work too terribly hard. It’s simply another way to obtain them. I’m still not sure how I feel about getting sprockets through a mining pick, but that’s my own personal opinion. I do NOT feel it’s P2W.
Yes, titles count, but only if they’re maxed or at least past a certain point, depending on the title. However, it may be easier and/or cheaper to get minis, hero armor, and elite armor.
I’m not going to read 7 pages worth of responses, however, here’s my opinion. I have to agree that the mining pick sets a dangerous precedent. However, given the past history concerning gathering nodes as a reward, I have to theoretically conclude that ANet has plans to remove sprockets as regular drops from the game. As such, having the gathering node for them, as well as the mining pick, will insure that a steady supply of them remains available. I don’t think the picks chance of producing sprockets is necessary, but that’s my opinion.
It’s likely a mistake. I’d recommend updating your ticket to let support know what happened.
Simply submitting a report would not have been enough to get you banned. However, the same IP and same level, combined with other possible factors, may have been enough. Typically, roaming bots tend to be human rangers using bears, and usually have random letters for names. I doubt this is the case with you, but just in case it is, try changing your pet types. Also, joining a guild may help, as most bots don’t have a guild tag.
Something you may want to do as well is submit a ticket to support asking about why you were both banned in the first place so that you can prevent it in the future.

I just received an email from support@guildwars2.com for requesting a forgotten password. The only problem is, I know my password and didnt send the ticket. I immediately got an email from support@guildwars2.com asking to verfiy that the person who sent the ticket was me by giving info on my character’s race/prof/etc. I dont know what to do, is this legit? Did somebody use my email address to try and change my password?
The best thing to do is to file a ticket yourself and include all the info that was in that e-mail to verify if they did indeed send it.

I’d suggest removing the path to the phishing site, but other than that it’s good to know that sometimes they get through the spam filters.
Why not insert dueling arenas in pve, that is, specifically designated areas for dueling between players? In fact, just put one dueling arena in Lion’s Arch to begin with and see how popular it is. If it works shove more arenas around the open world.
According to the books, Lion’s Arch is supposed to have a gladiatorial arena. Add to this the obvious arena in the Black Citadel, and yes, you have two perfect places where people could duel to their hearts content. This sort of system I would be perfectly fine with. I still say keep it out of open world PvE though.
Oiy vey, not this again… If people want to duel in a private instance or PvP setting, go for it. But please not in open world. Even an option to disable dueling isn’t enough. I don’t want to be whispered “Duel me! Duel me!” over and over again, or be harassed in map chat, or have their guildies start in when I block. I’ve had it happen to me, I’ve seen it happen to others. Put it in PvP if you want, but keep it OUT of PvE!!!

This should be back on the front page, just in case.

You’d have to submit a support ticket in order to get help with that. Click the “Support” link at the top of the page then click “Submit a Request” to get help.
I think a certain point is being missed, and that the nodes are a “convenience” item, one that isn’t necessary to game play and quite honestly one that’s easily done without. Anyone could find these nodes in the map with their eyes closed if they wanted to. For the convenience though, 800 gems is rather cheap for the convenience of getting part of a daily done without having to go very far.
Exterminate! Exterminate!
You do know they already nerfed the drop rate on it, right?
I don’t care if ANet adds private dueling as an aspect of PvP, but I do NOT want to see it anywhere in open world. Not in cities, not in open maps. I don’t feel like dealing with an endless spam of duel requests, repeated whispers of “duel me!” or constant grief in map chat. I’ve seen it happen before, and I believe ANet would be making a huge mistake implementing it. Want dueling? Set it up in a PvP aspect and leave PvE alone.
Looks like this is an issue again.
“Why did you do this? GuildWars2 I’ve done nothing but promote your game.”
-Angry Loe
ANet knows about it and is working to resolve the situation. Apparently NCSoft is the one that made the claim. https://twitter.com/AngryJoeShow/status/421630568321646592
Simple reason, I’m not the least bit interested in PvP. I never buy games that pit me head-to-head, and never play that aspect of any game that has it. I’m simply not a PvP’er.
I don’t believe that site is legit. Something is off with the HTML code, you can see a glaring error if you scroll down to the bottom and look in the lower left corner. Despite this, if this were a legit ANet sweepstakes it would have appeared as an official post on the Facebook page, and most likely could be linked from the main website.
(edited by Berelious.3290)
If you buy the game directly from the GW2 website and find you don’t like it, ANet is very reasonable with their refund policy. However, if you did buy a boxed edition from a retailer, then your complaint will have to be taken up with the retailer. ANet has no control over those sales.
While I can’t blame people for continuing to follow up on the original post, the question still begs to be answered… What the heck sweepstakes are you talking about??
Umm, what sweepstakes? I haven’t seen anything on Facebook or on the main website.
As Gaile said 10 months ago, the only way to get assistance would be to submit a ticket to support.
You obviously don’t craft legendaries then or u’d know what we’re talking about.
You need Obi shards for Ascended too. I can do without the Ascended but I need Karma badly for my current legendary.
Actually Belzebu’s response isn’t entirely accurate. The recipes for celestial stat gear CAN be found on the TP, and is likely the only way you’ll get them. Keep in mind you’ll have to buy the inscription and insignia recipes, along with those for each piece of armor and each weapon. After that you’ll have to buy quartz crystals, then charge them at a place of power (Issormir’s body in Wayfarrer Foothills for example) until you get enough charged quartz. After that you’ll need to craft each piece.

Hi Gaile! I’m posting for a fellow player from Facebook. He’s been having trouble logging in. 179279:Trouble Logging In, Build 27495

Congrats ANet!!!!
To answer some of your questions… https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/living-world-2013-the-year-in-review/
The P2W argument doesn’t work for GW2, and I’ll explain why. People have brought up two aspects that they seem to think is P2W. Firstly, let me debunk the one referring to the gem store. There is NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING in the gem store that gives a significant advantage in PvE or WvW, and the skins are just that. The boosters last all of one hour, and can’t be used in PvP. Some can’t even be used in WvW. So that one goes right out the window. Second, the conversion to gold. Better people than me have done the overall math, and if I’m remembering correctly Ascended gear, even with infusions, only gives a 5%-7% overall stat boost. Even converting to gold to craft up to 500, there’s still time gating to deal with. So no, P2W does not apply to GW2.
Yo-ho-tron with a bottle of rum in hands, and a peg leg.
I was gonna suggest this one for Dragon Bash, lol.
I personally don’t want mounts. I want GW2 to stay unique. It has it’s issues, but if such things as mounts were added it’d just be another copycat. As to your question about removing waypoints, heck no! In all honesty, I believe there would be no quicker way to clear every map in the game, even if mounts were added instead. Few if any players would want to cross 2-3 maps or more to get to events on a regular basis, even if they looked cool doing it.
It will still require some waiting, but my recommendation is to wait until you have a match-up where your final map is being held by a weak server, then do your completion. I did all three borderlands like this. As for Orr, it is possible to solo complete it. If you’re not using a character capable of stealth or aegis, stealth kits will work as well.
I’ve noticed this too. I tried to convert some gems to gold tonight and couldn’t even get the screen to work.
Start a pool. One time it did turn out that there was an accidental nerf. It took a while to pin it down though. People need to start posting their drop ratios to make as large a pool as possible to see if there’s an issue.
Game starts with 5 character slots, so that’s 2 gifts per character, meaning possibly 10 legendaries… I fail to see the issue here.
I have four level 80 characters and another five I’m working on. None of them have what you’d call a “full” skin set, and I don’t intend to ever do that. I’ve always felt that mix-n-match is better anyway for making that “unique” look for your toons.
Underboob is nothing when you have this!
Hey, how’d you pull this one off? (pun intended)
I think if you read this thread, caiomacos, you’ll notice that your so called gear treadmill is far from mandatory. Whatever their reasons, many players are choosing not to make any ascended gear, or only to do so for one or two characters. At any rate, I think ANet has indeed caught on that raising the level cap or adding further gear progression would be a disaster. I highly doubt they’ll do it again. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/How-many-Chars-will-you-gear-w-ascended/first
My guess is they’ll definitely increase the level cap and add more tier gear. They’ve pretty much driven off a large chunk of the community that was opposed to that; ArenaNet logic therefore means they need to please the remainder by adding more of what this game never needed and nobody wanted…
Sir! You look like you would be interested in our newest line of tinfoil hats! Not only are they stylish and unique, but come with many optional features! This little beauty for example will not only keep aliens from reading your mind, but comes with a truly resplendent sunshade and a removable mosquito net!
You do two things. First off, right click the name doing the advertising and click “block.” Then right click the name again, and click “report” and select the reason as “selling gold”
OP, it’s painfully obvious that most people are not going to side with your opinion on this. That being said, the armor has been out since release, and a great many people have bought it precisely because of how it currently looks. One person’s opinion is not going to sway ANet into a re-design when so many people want it to stay as it is.
While ANet did say that they purposefully left the option to raise the level cap in game, at this point I don’t think they would. Doing so would render the efforts of a good portion of their player base irrelevant. Too many people have put work into obtaining Ascended and Legendary items to have them rendered obsolete by a level increase, and if ANet did so they would probably loose a good many players.

I’m posting for a player on Facebook. Ticket #134980. Player tried to log in after a lengthy absence to find his account compromised. Last reply quoted "It’s now day 6. I haven’t logged into my account for almost a year. I got an email from Anet stating that they locked it as of 12/3/13 for “selling items” and violating user end agreements. Well I saw that tried to log in and pass was changed. I cant re change it as I don’t have the cd key anymore so I was working with them to get it back in my control then nothing…..so pretty much my account has been comprised and someone else has had control for it for who knows how long. Prob some bs gold spammer."
I haven’t ever seen an official statement regarding this, however I have heard the rare occasion of someone getting one from a champ box. The chance is extremely low though. I wouldn’t count on it too much if I were you.
I’ll admit that the game has faults, and I also feel that there is a lot that can be improved on. However, over all, I have to say that I absolutely love this game! I try to log in every day, even if I’m not able to do much. I hope ANet keeps up the good work!
The WvW Season 1 event is set to end today. I’m guessing that when the weekly reset happens later today chests will be awarded. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_vs._World_Season_1
If the original item was soulbound, then when the split takes place the resulting items will be soulbound. I personally have had only one exception to this, and that was with the Molten Alliance Gauntlets. I used a splitter on them after I had transmuted the skin on to a different set of gauntlets, and when I did the Molten Gauntlets that I got back were account bound.
