I’m only planning on doing one, my Guardian. I want to make one really sweet character, the rest of my alts will get or remain in exotics.
Other than that, what about MF boosters, banners, food? We’ll need those to open chests?
These don’t affect Chests either.
I don’t suppose there is any update as to when the updated skin will be released?
Yes, it’s a Phishing e-mail, using a fake website in order to try and steal your account. For future reference, please paste the actual text of the e-mail in question, but do not post the links.
The whole thing is a slippery slope, but that’s beside the point. The argument stands. The medium skin is “exclusive” to WvW, and can only be paid for in Badges of Honor. If you’re going to base your argument purely on exclusivity, then it it has to be applied all the way around. Exclusive to race, exclusive to area, still exclusive.
You have to go into WvW to buy it, but everyone got thousands of Badges of Honor in the PvE achievement chests. It’s about as exclusive to WvW players as temple armor is to Orr farmers.
The level of exclusivity is not in question, but the fact of exclusivity. You’re also assuming that someone has acquired enough AP to have the required badges. Let’s face it, we could argue back and forth for a month on this. The medium armor IS exclusive, as it can only be purchased by badges in WvW. The Light armor IS exclusive, as it can only be acquired by humans. The level of exclusivity does not matter.
Do all of the people claiming that they or their “friends” skinned over existing t3 cultural with flamekissed realize that you’re actually undermining their own attempts to keep your welfare cultural armor?
You’re telling me that welfare cultural is so vastly superior to T3 cultural, that you effectively deleted the 119g you spent on the skin and the 30g you spent on transmutation crystals to put it on exotics, because you thought you would never again want to wear the vastly inferior T3. Think about that for a second… well, maybe a lot of seconds with this crowd.
It doesn’t undermine it at all. What they paid for it is irrelevant. How it compares to anything else and what it costs is irrelevant. They purchased it legitimately. They have more right to keep it by any moral standard than the people that complained had to take it away from them. They deserve to keep what they have whether they paid 1 gold , a hundred gold or a thousand gold.
Except for the fact that the human skin is exclusive which this armor was based off so no, I don’t see your point or how some gem skin outweighs an entire race’s cultural armor. I think they should get a hefty refund and it sucks it happened but they should not get to keep a skin that was never, ever supposed to be used by other races.
By this argument the medium should be removed as well. While not a racial exclusive, it is exclusive in its location and its acquisition.
It’s not the same at all, since every race can get it. No matter what race I play, I will always be able to get those armors.
A slippery slope argument if I ever saw one.

The argument is still invalid.
Exclusive to race means some people can never get it. (unless you actually think people will change races over this)
Exclusive to wvw means everyone can get it, but in other ways. I have over 2000 badges of honor from AP rewards alone (I never play wvw/pvp). I can easily buy it, regardless of race.
There’s a big difference between exclusive for a race, and exclusive to area (an area everyone can visit no less)
Anyone can roll a human toon as well… argument stands.

This was part of the official response. Also, you can read several of Gaile’s posts in Account Issues to know that this issue is not going unnoticed. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Flamekissed-Armor-Skin/first#post3275229
Why should humans only retain the right to keep the skin when in fact they are the ones who complained about it’s existence in the first place? Hypocrite much.
It’s either that, or all cultural armor should be available to everyone. Anet is probably not going to do the latter.
On a completely different note, I find it quite ironic that everyone who liked flamekissed keeps saying things like “anet giving in to the whiners” while they are in fact whining themselves.
And I like how these same people are acting as if there were only 10 of those “whiners” while it was one of the biggest outrages on this forum and also over 1000 (probably over 2000 combining all threads) upvotes on GW2 reddit all against the armor being added in the store. This is what the community wanted not just a couple of whiners. The whiners are coming out now, trying to make it feel like it wasn’t a big deal.
It was a huge deal to those who did get the skin, or those who wanted to. Even if we’re in the minority this time, we’ve as much right to voice our complaints about it being removed as you have to support it’s removal.
Wow! People are complaining that we complained! That is… kind of puzzling….
You people that bought this set are hurt because you spent money and time in it. I am ok with that.
I was hurt because I spent money and time in the game and this set was a precedent to little by little have all the ingame skins revamped and put for sale killing all incentive to ever play anything (HCT3 you at least needed a lvl80 human and this means at least some ‘playing’).New exclusive armoes are fine, but don’t kill all the incentives to play the game please.
Now, as I already said, I don’t see any problem with people keeping this set as long as Anet does never ever start anything like this again.
I don’t want to be ‘exclusive’… I want to have some goals in the game. Leave the ‘in game’ armors as is please. T3 was for me one of the incentives that made me level my human mesmer and try to get the gold for it.Stop this flood. Leave the skin to those that bought it as a reminder. To apraise the rest, give humans the option to upgrade their t3 to this too maybe (I don’t want it myself though! Don’t force this skin on t3 humans! My mesmer theme is white/blue and gold. Don’t want flames!)
I may not agree with you, but I thank you for being reasonable in your opposition. Kudos.
Change the other two too. They are AWFUL. T3 was the nice one. Give them all UNIQUE looks. I was exited when I heard the name then to see it was a reskinned version of an armor I hate.
Just an opinion I guess but I feel like they all need more attention rather than just added flames.
I’ve been making this argument all night. Apparently it’s not just about the fact it’s a re-skin, but it’s about popularity too. Since the other two skins sets aren’t as popular, nobody’s got a complaint about them, even if they’re re-skins.
Let me explain why removing flamekissed is a bad thing. I payed for 4000 gems(€).. 800 for the set, 350 total makeover and the rest exchanged for gold to craft a firebringer to match the set, that i bought on tp a new set to keep the old one, bought another 6. Superior Rune of traveler. If i dont like the new set my account is ruinekittenhe only one with this problem?
I’ll admit that I hadn’t had a chance to purchase the skins yet… But no, you won’t be the only one with this problem. And I happen to agree with you that removing it and changing it is a bad idea. However, apparently a portion of our fellow gamers didn’t give ANet much choice in the matter.
So I have a question on this (that I haven’t seen answered yet):
As someone who bought the skin because it looks beautiful, and used it immediately, if I don’t like the new skin ANet makes for it, and choose to get the refund… What will actually happen to the armour I applied the skin to?
The armor will continue to exist, but with the updated look. If you like it there’s no issue. If you don’t, you can send a ticket to support to get a gem refund. I don’t know what happens to the armor if you get a refund though.
So now one portion of the community has essentially walked off with another portions spent assets… Thanks for nothing guys. I’m sure there will be lots of people who will appreciate you immensely for that.
all they did was hurt themselves…..i know i wont be spending cash in this game anymore, and i imagine im not the only one now….. the incentive to drop any cash on this game for me now has we Swoosh… Gone.. They keep it up theres gonna be even More ghost towns in this game … to many new things coming out and players are migrating to other MMORPGS… thats what the REAL GW2 migration thing is starting to look like
I’m afraid I can’t agree with you. ANet isn’t the one that raised the roof when the armor skins came out, a good portion of the community is to blame for that.
yes and it was their choice to side with that portion of the community… so if you agree with me/us or not still doesnt change the fact … Anet got bullied by one portion of the community and burned another… thats a fact even YOU cant deny!
Oh I’m not denying it. I’m simply picking a far better target to be angry at. ANet is only guilty of trying to please their customers. I’m angry at the customers who raised the roof.

its not selfish expecting that ganathar, it was anets fault they decided to release the skins they did, BUT, the crusade worked, the skin is gone and they will probably never release another t3 skin. However, people did spend the money, anet should not be taking the skin for the people that did get it within the short time it was up.
this, my wife is actually quite kitten ed because she loves the look of this gear she bought it as soon as soon as she saw it. now that they are talking about taking away she is upset.
maybe those that bought the skin should go on a crusade like the brats did to get this removed to give those that BOUGHT a skin a voice.
yeah i think most are prolly about ready to tell anet to play the Skin-Flute!
ANet isn’t completely at fault in this. Don’t forget this would never have happened if certain members of the community hadn’t had a bunch of cows, kittens, puppies, and a conniption for good measure.
I’m glad they listened to majority of the community and I’m sure they will find a solution for people who put the skin on their existing t3.
yeah the majority of kitten whiny self entitle brats who are complaining about people who payed real life money while they paid make believe money.
this forum is so “kitten -backwards” in every other game with micro-transactions people have no problem with either buying APPEARANCE items with either real money or ingame currency. however here people have a hissy fit.
The original hissyfit should never have happened in the first place, or if it did it should have covered them all since all 3 sets were re-skins. The fact that it only targeted the light because it was cultural was the biggest hypocrisy of them all. Forgive me if I feel that T3 didn’t loose it’s uniqueness at all, especially since it’s still there for all those that want it.
the Hissyfit should never have happened in the first place because there is no reason for a Hissyfit. if someone wants to pay 10 dollars for appearance gear they should be able to, hell i think Anet should open ALL armor looks for 10 bucks a pop (dungeon culteral, PVP). and tell the self-entitled brats on this forum if you don’t want to spend the 10 bucks then buy it with in game currency, like every other MMO with micro-transactions.
You know Khallis, I think I’m starting to like you.
I’m glad they listened to majority of the community and I’m sure they will find a solution for people who put the skin on their existing t3.

lol anyone can get the heavy and hobo set for cheap and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who even likes them at all.
Complaining that armor that was already universal is now universal is kind of pointless.
So basically you’re saying it’s ok to revamp one kind of skin but not another?
I’m glad they listened to majority of the community and I’m sure they will find a solution for people who put the skin on their existing t3.

I had tier 3 human cultural on my human elementalist, female. As soon as I saw the gem armor, I was really happy. I thought hey, my favourite armor in the game, now available to EVERYONE, with some cool-looking effects on it, too! Instead of being a kitten about “how exclusive and human-only this armor should be”, I said “thank you arenanet for making my elementalist look even more awesome, have my ten bucks”.
I am not as selfish as the majority of the community here. I prefer saying thank you, instead of “this skin is wrong”. In fact, if more t3 cultural armors would be remade, with extra animations (icy ones for the norn t3 heavy, electricity for asuras, etc), it would be freaking awesome. I don’t care if I have to pay gems or gold for it. I don’t care about who wears what. They’re skins. SKINS. Come on. You’re not gonna be paying attention to the skin while killing people in WvW or PvP, you just want the skin to look cool in Lion’s Arch!
But no, just because this community is selfish as hell, Arenanet are following what pleases their customers. And unfortunately, for them it’s the right decision. But I just want to add, that I just officially dislike this community a lot.
I really hope the new Flamekissed armor is awesome, because if it ain’t, I want my previous armor back.
Lol it’s like you people just can’t do basic math and comprehend the fact that it cost 1/3 the price of T3 armor.
Go through every post here and tally up the posts that complain about “exclusivity” and the ones pointing out how its the same armor for a fraction for the cost and I bet you you won’t find more folks complaining that other races can have the humans’ armor and a lot more people complaining about how their armor just droped in value by a whole lot because anet thought it should only be worth 60g after all.
Telling people they just have to deal with the items they earned dropping in value because you want something for cheap is also pretty kitten selfish and really eroding the sympathy I have for people who are having to deal with losing an armor they like.
I fail to see how your price argument has merit when the above people have already said they purchased T3. Value is not the issue. In fact there will still be people buying T3 human precisely because it doesn’t have the flame effect, or because they think the color patterning is different. The issue is that ANet was forced to remove an armor skin from the gem store and will be changing it because certain other community members had a tizzy because Human T3 had lost some of exclusivity, something which I think was long overdue. People wanted it. People paid for it. It’s not like the original is going anywhere, and it isn’t devalued. The people who wanted the gem store skin should still be able to get it. The people who already have it shouldn’t have it changed. I honestly have to feel sorry for the people at ANet for getting caught between this rock and hard place.
I’m another who bought this armor and I want to keep it. I bought it in good faith. I paid for it…. not some substitute. I don’t want a refund either. I want the armor I purchased. We who bought this armor did nothing wrong. We were supporting the game by buying from the gem shop. And now it’s going to be taken away?
This armor is gorgeous. I don’t care that it’s a T3 cultural armor. That’s not why I bought it. As soon as I saw it I told my guildies that my necro was getting new armor! I had it bought and on in less than two minutes. I DONT WANT ANYTHING ELSE.
I will be beyond kittened off if I log on to find some crap armor substitute on my main character.
IF Anet screwed up, why should we who purchased the armor be penalized?
I WANT TO KEEP THE ARMOR I PAID FOR. PERIOD.
Seconded as well.
Something to keep in mind… While there were plenty of people who may have been unhappy that the light armor looked a lot like the T3 human and thus are now happy that it’s going to be changed, there are going to be a lot of people who are equally unhappy about said change because they bought it or wanted it, and now can’t keep it (I am among these). I wanted that armor skin… badly in fact. I’m not angry at ANet for changing it, I can understand that they need to satisfy as many customers as possible. HOWEVER I AM KITTENED OFF AT THE PART OF THE COMMUNITY THAT OVERREACTED TO THIS AND IS KEEPING ME FROM GETTING IT!
How about the part of the community that was upset about it being released cause they earned it? How about the part of the community that lost there fractal progression so everyone could be put on even keel? I guess there wants needs and desires are not as important as yours cause thats whats being implied?
Please don’t over read my post. I was merely stating that while those folks have a right to rage about precisely that, I have an equal right to rage about loosing out on it. Nothing more, nothing less. I’m angry, period. I’m angry at what I see as an overreaction, period. End of story, period.

You know, I find it ironic that everybody complained about the light armor skin, but nobody complained about the medium, despite the fact you have to work just as hard if not harder to get it. WvW skins take a lot of Badges of Honor to get, and yet nobody bothered to complain about that!
Oh, I don’t think I’ve heard a single person say they liked the Medium and Heavy sets, they’re, to me, horrible. And no, it takes no effort what so ever to get the WvW gear. I get about 300-400 Badges easily, each time I spend a little effort in WvW. Do the JP’s, then run around with your guild killing the zerglings.
What irked me was the fact that Flamekissed is the Light Human Cultural Tier 3 armor, available to every race for less than half the cost. If everyone can wear the “Requires race: Human” one, then why can’t I wear the Norn one as a Human? Or the Asura one? Sylvari? Charr perhaps? That’s what bothered me.
Honestly, I have to agree… even if it’s a bit of a re-work like Flamekissed was, I think that they all should be made available to every race… but that’s me. Also, as a person who simply doesn’t have a whole lot of time to spend in WvW, any armor from there is difficult to get. But again, that’s me, and I like the medium armor.
You know, I find it ironic that everybody complained about the light armor skin, but nobody complained about the medium, despite the fact you have to work just as hard if not harder to get it. WvW skins take a lot of Badges of Honor to get, and yet nobody bothered to complain about that!
I’m not sure if this was a bug or not, but were Laurel Rings and the Southsun backpiece supposed to get the AR infusion slot if they weren’t infused?
1st all who says no to duels are probebly newbie at MMO’s.
Says who? You?
I’ve been playing MMOs for years and hardcore duellists are little more than an annoyance in many MMOs. They simply do not understand the meaning of the word “no”. “No” to them means they can continue to spam-request me, to bombard me with /whispers about what they would like to do with my mum, to bunny-hop around me like an obnoxious, attention-starved child and finally to harass me through map chat.
I’ve seen and experienced it all. Don’t ever presume you speak for me, or people like me.
What he said… plus signature.
Vayne has it right, and I mentioned it before myself. Simply having an option to refuse duel requests would not be nearly enough. If that were the case, you’d get people calling you out in map chat. If you block them in map chat they’d find another way to harass you. I’ve seen it before in f2p games, and that’s why I’m so strongly against it. You want duels? Fine by me, just keep them in a specific arena and OUT of open world.
Oh gods, please NO! Even if they included an option to turn off dueling I do NOT want to be spammed with “Duel Me! Duel Me! Duel Me!” when I’m out doing whatever I’m doing. Have your duels in a closed area, but if you include it please don’t make it open world!
I did it as a guardian, so having Aegis helped a lot. However, the Spy Kit is probably your best bet.
Another thing you might try (though it may feel a bit grindy) is the Queensdale champ train. With exp boosters it might level you up fairly fast.
The reason I posted this as it’s own topic was to make sure that was actually read. Once it has been I have no real objection to it being merged with similar threads.
I’ve said it more than once, and I’ll start by saying it again. I generally HATE agreeing with the majority on this game. However, in this one instance, I’m forced to agree on one point, and that is that the game needs an expansion.
At this point the game has been out for over a year, and in that time most of the player base has dealt with one of six elder dragons plaguing the land of Tyria. The champions of two of those remaining dragons can actually be fought on a daily basis. I won’t say that there aren’t other forms of evil in the game, because obviously there are. The Living Story has actually served to point that out quite well. I have to say, I’ve enjoyed the living story. It has served very well as a place holder, but to me, that’s all it is. While I enjoy it immensely, the Living Story can’t take the place of the fact that there are, by ANet’s own making, still more Elder Dragons left to defeat. Now that it’s been so long, I believe that it is high time to take the fight to the next one. I will say that these other evils shouldn’t go away though. They add to the scope and depth of Tyria and make me want to continue playing. There is definitely a place for it in the game. But the beat goes on, Dragons terrorize the deserts, the frozen wastes, even the ocean’s depths. I believe it’s time to face off with them again.
This really should be in the game bugs forum. It’d do more good there.
To answer OP’s question as to wether there are any references IN-GAME, I recommend going to the various labs around Crucible of Eternity. Each of those labs is dedicated towards studying one of the Elder Dragons. You don’t even have to enter the dungeon itself.
ANet tends to get rid of bots in game by batches. Just keep blocking and reporting.

It’s actually not that difficult to avoid the elite-ist groups out there. Making your own party does help a lot. And if you’ve done story mode you can take the additional precaution of starting the dungeon yourself, then making your party request. If you end up with a bunch of idiots that then try to kick you somewhere in the dungeon, at least you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that they just booted themselves as well.
You aren’t the first person to suggest it, but I still think it’s a good idea. It can be very tedious to go through list after list because your armor class isn’t listed.
Arykyali, you raised a lot of good points and I’m inclined to agree. I have to agree with Young as well, we could use a few more gold sinks in game. The problem would be where to place them.
Most people will probably tell you that Warriors are a pretty sure bet.
This should actually be in the Suggestion forum. That being said, I think it’s a good idea. The default “Guild” backpacks don’t look great, and most of the in game back pieces don’t have a look at all. Most of the back pieces you see running around are either gem store or event related. It’d be nice to see some more default “in-game” skins.

Actually the European Servers are located in Frankfurt, Germany, which is why most European countries are recommended to connect to those servers. They’re a lot closer and tend to have a shorter ping time. That being said, there have been issues in the past where certain European ISP’s have had issues routing GW2 data, causing frequent disconnects or preventing connection entirely.
There IS an official thread regarding this already. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/e-Mail-from-ArenaNet-Please-read-merged/first

While there are indeed quite a few titles that can be earned in game, like Colin said, I do like OP’s idea of having portrait circles like that. It would indeed help to make people’s accomplishments stand out, and ANet has said on a few occasions that they welcome ideas that help people display stand out.
Well, a few things that would help would be the error code, your system specs (to determine if it’s a hardware issue), you ISP (to help determine if it’s a provider issue), Whether you’re connected to a European or NA server… that sort of thing. There’s also a link in this thread to a program that helps ANet figure out what your connection issues may be. Can’t hurt to use it. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/How-to-Submit-a-Technical-Support-Ticket-2

The future of this game will be 100 million Guardians all using the same ugly Legendary weapon. zzz
Three points I’d like to make… First, the likelihood of 100 million Guardians is pretty slim. Second, Beauty or Ugliness is purely a matter of opinion. And thirdly, this post helps OP not at all.
Three points I’d like to make:
1. It’s a bit dense to take that number literally
2. You think an online sword is beautiful lol
3. Neither did this one
Touche and well played. You advance one level, gain 500 EXP and find a healing potion.
