The final event, defeating Ulgoth, is a world event boss on a set event timer. From the time of this post, he will appear again in about 15 minutes, and will again every 3 hours after that. I’m including a link to Dulfy’s world boss timer, which should help you keep track. http://dulfy.net/2014/04/23/event-timer/
Arewn, the reason it’s necessary to show up at least 30 mins early (Most would recommend an hour, with reason) is because it takes a bit to get people organized and the necessary positions manned. You can’t do that five minutes before the event starts, it’s just not possible. Showing up early, I’ve yet to do a run that didn’t succeed, and I do mine at 3 AM EST.
Hi Gaile. This is in regards to ticket 750877. My girlfriend is receiving promotional e-mails but never received the e-mail change or password reset notification. Is it possible they were went to the old e-mail address? She has all the ANet e-mail addresses in her address book so it should be letting them through.
If you think about it it makes sense. If Rytlock can break the Ascalonian curse, it would free them up from one of their conflicts, allowing them to bend more resources towards defeating the Elder Dragons. Considering Magdaer was used to inflict the curse in the first place, it makes sense that Sohothin might break it. Then again it might be Magdaer reforged that does the trick, considering that Eir found the pieces of the sword in the story dungeon and had planned to get it repaired.
Hi Gail. My girlfriend sent in a ticket about a week ago about changing her account e-mail but never received a response. Ticket number is 750877.
Buy the precursor, it’ll save you from rage destroying your computer when you don’t get it from the mystic forge.
The problem is that with the megaserver system you may not end up on the same map twice, so it’s difficult to pin down the exact locations of gathering nodes.
Hope, I believe that the Stalwart set was only obtainable two ways before the wardrobe update. The first was in PvP, and unfortunately is no longer reward, though it may be in the future. The second was AP achievement chests, which back then also awarded PvP armor skins. Again, this is no longer the case. The chest piece is obtainable still by personal story, but to my knowledge it’s the only Stalwart armor skin still readily obtainable. Personally I hope this changes.
I don’t see what’s your problem with subatomic matrix 3 dimensional expander unit mounted with every asura 2h. The longer the stick, the bigger the pain!
Best explanation ever!
If you unequip it and put it in your inventory, you can still visit the Black Lion Weaponsmith and have it exchanged for an account bound version.
Hot fix patch last night. This problem should now be fixed.
Ahh, but in this case it’s different, because it’s not limited this time. Since this content/map is permanent, people can acquire said recipes at their leisure, not within a certain time constraint.
Not possible, as the connecting factor is the Hall of Monuments. You still get 3 points just for linking, but without your accomplishments being registered there you can’t receive credit.
Welcome to Tyria! Where men are men, Norn are Norn, and Quaggans are Quaggans… IT’S ALL ABOUT THE QUAGGANS!!
Near as I can tell they just changed the names, probably to make it easier to tell weight classes apart. Still seems to be the same skins and such.
At no point what-so-ever did ANet promise any of these features with this update. That was entirely the fault of certain members of the community setting their expectations way to high. When ANet says those things are coming, then and only then will they be forthcoming.
Awwwwww… someone had a kitten How cute!
They’re actually working on fixing this, but unlike what seems to be the common belief, it’s not an easy fix.
And again, outfit = no buy.
I want to mix and/or hide stuff.
You can hide shoulder, head, and gloves still. I’m surprised that nobody seems to have figured this out yet.
One thing I tried for that was to get a bunch of people to send me messages till my box was full. This will only help though if you don’t have anything else in there, just personal messages from other players. Once it hits 10 I got the hint completion.
Dulfy also has a very accurate world boss timer. Before you ask though, there are a couple bosses that aren’t on it (flame shaman and ogre chief) and since defense events actually succeed now, temples aren’t on it either.
Honestly, use them to outfit an Alt you don’t plan to use very often. Stats wouldn’t matter much in that case. Or use the weapons as aquatic weapons. ANYTHING there is better than any exotic.
I’ve got more dragonite than I know what to do with just from doing world bosses. I haven’t hardly touched a temple except to occasionally help with Balthazar.
Thanks Inculpatus!

I actually got two of those e-mails this morning. I figured they were probably coming but it was nice to get a refresher course Thanks ANet!
Every time I’ve tried to reply to a topic I’ve been redirected to a page with this message. Apparently it also happens for the creation of new topics. Any ideas for a fix? “Sorry, this area isn’t available yet. Please check back later. Try going back home?”
A ticket would be the best course of action at this point. Also, while he’s waiting for a response he may want to change his e-mail password to something unique (never used before anywhere) just in case his e-mail account has somehow become compromised.
While Konig and Mudbone do make good points, there is a point that I’d like to add. While it’s generally assumed that we know the locations of certain elder dragons, we don’t know “exact” locations. While Jormag is indeed located in the north somewhere… where exactly? He could be anywhere in the Shiverpeaks, which covers a lot of territory. Primordious and Mordremoth would be the only two that might be contestable with this theory, as Primordious has generally been understood to be underground and Mordremoth is in the jungle somewhere.
Going forward all LS content will be available from the Living Story Journal, making it all permanent content. To unlock said content in the journal for free, all you have to do is log in once during the two week period that the chapter is running. If for some reason you missed said chapter, it can be unlocked for a small gem fee. As for bug fixes, they do those all the time. Plus they’ve made some huge QoL updates, especially lately.
I haven’t really read every post, but I did read the first. Here’s my opinion. Yes, the Zypher Sanctum was destroyed, but given the ammount of ships that the Zyphers have, I doubt that it’s the end of them as a people. As far as game lore goes, I have no reason to believe that they wouldn’t recover from such a disaster. As for what you called a “real victory” you’re quite correct. Even with Scarlet dead, something much worse woke up. But look at it this way, no story starts off with the final climactic battle. There wouldn’t be any point to a “season 2” if the first release went straight for the dragon.
Maybe if they do introduce Zinn’s lab, M.O.X. might not be far behind. He’s another hero from the first game that would be very likely to survive… seeing as he’s a golem and all.
There are no event timers for temples now. Due to various megaserver maps not being in sync, and also due to the fact that defense events actually succeed now, there’s no way to set a timer on them.
I think Scarlet dropped a bomb on him… in that case he’s literally everywhere!

For me, making a Legendary weapon isn’t about the weapon itself, but having a long term goal to work towards. I honestly couldn’t care less about the level of the stats on the weapons, and in most cases I don’t even like the skins. If I wanted that level of stats, making Ascended weapons would be so much easier. But having a long term goal helps to keep me interested in the game.
I’m not reading 4 pages worth of posts, but I’ll throw my two cents in for the original question. What races would I want to play most? Well, there are three. Those would be Largos, Tengu, and Kodan. Tengu I’ve wanted since GW1, especially since there was one in Factions that you could hire. While Largos and Kodan are new, each seems to have a rich history and a complex social system that I’d dearly love to explore.
Jerus, it’s both. It’s been that way since the start of the game. I believe it was meant as a way to keep the market from being flooded since badges are relatively easy to come by.
Crimethink [ct] is still recruiting! If anyone is looking for a laid back, casual guild, feel free to message us!
I’m forced to agree, making a legendary (or in my case 2) had me enjoying the game all over again… You know what, maybe I should make another 2… yes, I believe I will, and I know which two to make. Thank you!
haha np, hey when you made yours did you mystic luck the precursor or buy it?
I’ll admit it, I bought them from the TP, but that didn’t matter to me. I have terrible luck when it comes to drops like that. I haven’t even got a single ascended drop yet. So I’ll probably buy my next two as well. Again, that doesn’t bother me, just means I’ll be more committed to getting the job done.

In point of fact, you don’t have to pay anything at all. All any player has to do is log in (a two minute process at most) during a two week window, and the LS chapter will be permanently unlocked. The only way people would have to pay 200 gems would be if they couldn’t log in for some reason, or they bought the game after chapters had been released. Let’s be honest, 200 gems is 20-30 gold in game depending on exchange rates. Most people get their hands on that within days.
The password would indeed be the same as your GW2 account. However, much as I hate to say it you’ll have to wrack your brain for one of your character names, because you will need it.
We’re still looking for recruits! Feel free to message us in game, especially in the evening.
I’ve only been on a couple failed runs since the megaserver started. Once people figured out how to get organized on their own, Teq was easy to take down. He’s not really all that hard.
Block and report. ANet bans thousands of accounts per day for this. Your reports do matter.
They had one, once upon a time. The problem was it wasn’t used as often as it should have been, so rather than trying to keep up a barely used forum they shut it down.
For those that are unaware of this feature with outfits, you can toggle off gloves/shoulder/head piece by toggling off the corresponding armor piece. Also, the Ancestral Outfit doesn’t come with a “head piece” so if you leave it toggled on, your regular armor will show. I don’t know if the dragon around the neck is considered shoulder as I haven’t had a chance to get a close look (I don’t have it yet) but if it is considered “shoulder” it’ll disappear if you toggle off your shoulder armor.
We’re still looking to recruit new members! If you have any questions or would like an invitation, feel free to message one of the above members in game. We’re a very open and friendly guild, even occasionally organizing Dungeon and WvW activities.
You have to visit the Black Lion Armorsmith with each character on your account. Once you do that they should all be unlocked.
That’s always how it’s worked. Once you make your first character on your account, you get the legacy box, and it only appears once. That’s always how it’s been.
