Before AR with SoM offered good sustain with very little healing power, but now it just too must investment for it, i’d just go with pain response for now

the vigor on crit that mesmers and guardians have are getting nerfed too, it just didn’t make it this patch.
Anything is viable in Pve imo.. I’ll run anything at least once.

I recorded an approximate 6 second kill with Thief last night. There is some room for improvement, so if anyone wants to challenge I’ll be looking forward to it.
So are you counting since you start attacking?
It would be more proper to count since you activate your first skill right?
If that’s the case, you might as well add the set-up time from the other videos, they start their timer on the first strike.

This may be how it is worded, but i always thought it just cured one condition on you and all near by allies.
So…Kasmeer was around the Nightmare Tower, was getting tired, exhausted, and amidst all that mental burden, she could still maintain that illusion.
kitten, the freakin world is in danger! Put some cloths on and reserve your powers for kitten that really matters! Maybe if you stoped concentrating on that loose excuse of mental garment, you could have figured out what to do up there without me pouring the only interactive object on the only obstacle in the chamber.
Don’t you get it? This is how mesmers roll. If they wore real clothes they’d have freed up enough magical energy to usurp all the major races and take us over by now.
Nah it’d be the opposite. When they’re naked and using a simple low powered meditation on illusionary clothing they don’t have to try to replicate actual clothings’ appearance onto their illusions, making it easier to create them.
She’d have to use extra power on duplicating her clothing onto her illusions otherwise they would be too weak or not look identical. Then there’s the adjusting your illusions to different clothing when you change it, as well as keeping track of other changes in battle and duplicating the appearance of damage, dirt, blood, etc. Easier to just make everything an illusion and not worry about it.

You just know 100’s even 1000’s of Nerds are busy on the keyboards right now writing out Kasmeer/Marjory and Kasmeer/Tentacle fanfics now because of that dialog.

Which begs the question, if you could make your clothes with illusions, would you do it? Don’t know how much energy is requires to do this, but must be lazier then just putting on pants.
Also something tells me in the future we are going to obtain a devise that dispels any illusion, and we can use it for what it was intended,….. or point it at kasmeer >_>

Hard to catch: Stun break and gain (vigor , swiftness, or stability) when you steal.
Thematically it works, because if you stole something you want to be hard to catch. Even tho steal is already a pseudo stun break, I would put points to make it an actual stun break. Hell If it gave stability, it would actually worth 30 points imo.
Instinctual Response rename to Covert Comradeship Stun break allies when you stealth them. (30-45 sec CD).
A bit more situational, but could be good team support, i’m surprise we don’t have this already, and the thief can still use this if he brings something like blinding powder. Would also work with blast finishers
Last refuge: Blind near by foes when your health falls below (25-50%), 20-30 sec CD
Just take out the stealth portion and lower the CD and/or raise the health threshold, It’s a 5 point minor, it doesn’t need to be fancy imo. and would be better then what it is now.

For venomshareing it better to alternate any ways, leeching venom is 50% the reason you would take VA, and it doesn’t stack with more then one venom so it pointless to pop them all at once.
And when trying to decide how to pop my venom mid fight , it usually goes like this
Me: OMG!!!, more than 1 other person is close by, here is a healing venom.
Them: but I’m full health.
Me: I don’t care!!!
Kinda find it weird it doesn’t break stun, but you know we can’t everything >_>

I would like to say I did slot this trait. It wasn’t bad for a 20 point trait, gave imo good sustain for a thief for the amount of healing i have (Yes i have a set with some cleric pieces in it, i’m over it already).
But if i wanted a bit of healing in Acrobatics, i’m not going to throw 30 points to get this back when I can get pain response for 20.

and i found that you does not port you straight back like you would think, it ports you in any random direction within 600 radius

Each time you are struck, you earn 1853/35 = 53 hps.
In order to equal signet, you have to be struck 392/53=7.44 times. That means Stance will be better than signet if you can manage to get struck 8 times during 3 seconds. Or 3.75. Might be doable, depending on the fight.
On one hand I’m not counting the fact you don’t start healing since the beginning of a fight. On the other hand, I’m not counting the gain from mitigating damage.
Wouldn’t the damage you negated factored in? If you think about it you are also technically healing the damge you would have taken. It was the reason why skills like reversal of fortune in GW1 was so strong.
If you negated 100 damage and healed for 100 then that skill essentially did 200 points of healing.

2 things wrong with this…3 if u count the fact devs dont play thief.
1) venoms are never even close to “there”
2) even if they were…this heal wouldnt bring them their.venoms are built around the fact that you have to sacrifice a whole build setup, traitline , armors runes and sigils just to use. then even when you do…u activate them and sit there like an kitten for 45 seconds hoping you dont die bc of the lack of defense. all venoms should be on 20-25 seconsd timer max. MAX.
compare basilisk venom to any other stun in game. its the worst one. ….if not THE worst ONE of the worst. seriously. joke. scale venom? sure but wont work in power builds. so many problems with venoms.
they should be made so they are good without venomshare. soooo bad. so lame. wont use. thanks for hte laughs tho.

So, something to note from the livestream is that it has a 4k individual heal PLUS 4 stacks of skelk venom which have a 650 base heal, giving you well over HiS’s heal with support opportunity.
It’s a reverse Signet of malice with more burst sustain compared to the signet, the only thing that kills it for me is the 45sec CD, not a huge fan of healing skill with +30 cd. (and yes, that means HiS)
Question I would like to know is if they are going to balance venoms around a single trait, why not just make it base, or even just lower it a tier would be really nice

They had a healing trap in gw1, and after 250 years look where it is now.
Just grind out/get all the ascended sets, then your covered for everything >_>

As for the new heals, I’m sure this will be good for some classes, but on my thief, I feel like I already have some of the best heals in the game. It’s going to be tough to add something that will appeal to me more than Withdraw or Hide in Shadows.
P.s. I’d rather see more Elites added than either heals or utilities.

That’s just it the way GW2 was designed there is no BiS gear. The game is not so much about gear as it is looks.
Example. I can be level 80 go into a dungon with a group with out any gear on. We can beat the place we just have to time skills and dodges correctly. There are people who solo Arah PT2 Gear is not the focus of this game.
Agree BIS gear is not really needed for most content today, but doesn’t mean it’s not there. For most, gear is more important, and if you start selling that on the gem store then anet’s in a world of hurt.

To be fair, all of those deaths that happen, had more to do with the player then the build. Like the first one, he could have easily gotten out of it if he used RFI. Another one he had his hero panel up lol, and the last molten boss fight, everyone was getting stomped so i wouldn’t count those as a notch against the set.
Although, all he was doing was a few dodges and pressing 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 1 1 1…….3 3 3 3.

I honestly am not sure what to think at this point. The devs have repeatedly stated that they recognize the game is zerg heavy or even zerg dependent and that it’s something they are taking steps to address. And then they release an update that is, for all intents and purposes, a big “zerg this or suffer” sign.
Define zerg for this tower, because a group of 5-6 players can walk up this tower just fine, and in WvW the zergs there will laugh at that size of a group
3. Revive people= This kind of goes along with number 2. as you and your friends slowly work your way through by reviving others you slowly build up your battle force and before long poof your your own zerg.
That “tip” has gotten me killed more times than anything in the tower, I’m a fairly nice guy, and have stopped to revive the lone person only to get ganged up and died along with them, and this is on fairly tanky guardian. Sometimes i’m able to revive the person only to go down myself and be left behind while the guy I revived runs off without even a ty.
I still try to revive, but if i don’t think it’s worth it, i’m leaving. And if your dead,..Ha port back kitten.
Keeping in mind I’m able to run through most of tower my self (unless there’s boss or certain events), and i do go down sometimes. I have gotten the mix of people who revive me , keep running, and die trying to revive. At this point i don’t really care what option they pick.
