The Devs probably prefer pvp as simple as possible. The less things they have to look at the less they need to try to balance around.
Not everyone want to jump to wvw and lose meta progression or go to a map merchant and have to wp or run back so many people carry multiples of harvesting tools if they don’t have infinite. So the infinite saves both time and space.
The ones I’m not actively playing are mostly parked at a node or chest. If I’m playing it I might return to Divinities reach but usually I find an out of the way spot to log out at.
There seem to be some events that only trigger very rarely. In queensdale the bandits on the bridge and the rampaging bull are a couple of events that very rarely show up. Maybe they only trigger when local map population is above a certain amount because the times I saw them was at launch and then again when the game went f2p. The elemental event might be one that has some sort of population nearby trigger.
yes so they are wasting time for single player features, THIS IS A MMO, not a single player game
People forgot this
That’s not a good argument against it. All MMO have things for single play, that is stuff you do without other people being able to help you progress. The hearts
are single play. The personal story is designed to be done by single players. Adventures are single play. A lot of MMOs have quests that are single play. So saying Legendaries shouldn’t be made for that reason ignores all the single play they have made and will make.

To clarify it would just be free from city to city, since it’s safe to assume your character would use an asura gate when you’re not controlling it. So if you feel that invalidates the guild discount then oh no I guess. I just want it easier for my friends and guildies with bad load times. Also oddly enough the royal terrace pass is the one I decided to get.
How does eliminating waypoint fees reduce loading screen time. There’s a loading screen if you use an asuran portal and a loading screen if you waypoint directly to the other city. The only thing I can think of is if your waypointing to a city portal then going through it instead of way pointing directly. How many people waste time like that instead of spending a silver? Probably not enough to reset city to city waypoint fees for.
Warrior and guardian have nowhere to go as of now. Just check the weapon proficiency tables: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Weapon#Weapon_usability_by_professions
Don’t elite specs give new skills to weapons? They could take an existing weapon that a profession uses and give it a new set of skills. This probably would mean that the old set of skills is unusable for that spec but it’s one way to add a new set of weapon skills without adding a new weapon.
Who knows, maybe they could have an NPC that customizes a weapon for that set of
skills if your specced for it and you have another non customized weapon for the old skills. That way, for example on warrior, his uncustomized greatsword has the old skills and his customized greatsword has the new skills and by weapon swapping he uses both.
One of the selling points for things like the Royal Terrace pass and the craftable city scrolls such as the Lion’s Arch portal scroll is that the travel to that city is free of charge. Removing waypoint fees to cities would remove that feature of these passes.
At any rate the fact that such an app not only didn’t make it but no other similar feature app has shown up suggests that it’s not something that is easy to develop.

Before launch there was supposed to be an app that let you see guildies on the map and speak to them in guild chat. It fell through and nothing else has been heard of it.
Slight correction: long before the game was in BETA, ANet mentioned the idea of external apps. Nothing was promised or “supposed” to happen; it was just an idea, along with each character growing their own dye plants over 3 days.
While it wasn’t a promise it was more than a mention. Many people knew about it and were expecting it. There were threads on gw2guru discussing the app, when it would arrive and its features.
For example: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/37604-gw2-mobile-app/
I also remember seeing a mock up of the app. It showed the map of Queensdale and iirc it discussed how you would be able to see the location of guildies on the map and even talk to them.

How, exactly, does being forced to pay more for items benefit me as a bidder? Why should I support this suggestion?
The problem with making them effects is then they wont work with outfits. As they currently work now with outfits. Having to restart after map change is minor compared to having the one item that can change the appearence of an outfit, no matter how small.
They could make effects work with outfits if they wanted.
I was kind of thinking of a flag system. The dueling flag would be turned off by default but if you want to duel then you turn the duel flag on allowing for you to recieve duel request
That would work for me.
Gemstore only and 1000 gems. That way if you want it you can get it and if you don’t have it wannabe duelers can’t say just buy it and duel me.
Just to be sure what you mean by old redoing old story chapters. Redoing old personal story chapters will not give you more achievement points. it’s one set of mastery points for doing the story once. Repeating it on another race won’t give you more.
Maybe they don’t bring them back because the quest line is broken now and they don’t have the time to remake it. If so I have this suggestion. Make them craftable in the Mystic forge. They could also make the toybag back piece from the first wintersday craftable also.
People would just dye them skin colored so they could really look naked.
They have a combat tonic and you never see it, the watchknight. 5 minutes of transformation then 25 minute cool down. I’m betting all combat tonics will be the same. unless they change that no combat tonics will be worth the time. Whatever the problem with having longer transformations is, it’s probably what’s keeping some other tonics at 5 minutes.

I can understand what you are saying that the voice does not suit your char’s theme. However I have to say that the Human Male voice seems about the best of them to me. I am doing the LS3 story atm on all of my alts and have done Human, Norn, Sylvari and Charr so far (only Aura left). Out of all of those races the Human’s voice to me seems to have the most character. Sylvari comes in
second.I don’t know what it is but I just think that the voice actor puts a bit more effort into it. There is one part in the story where Rytlock says something and the human char responds totally different than the other races do. It’s just a subtle thing in the voice
but the whole response seems totally different to the other races and makes the
situation feel more real.Having said all that I did make an African American char and you are right OP, the human male voice certainly does not fit there lol.
but technically Elonians (the only people with darker skin in tyria) aren’t really in this
part of the world THEREFORE ITS YOUR FAULT!#I’mgonnagetbanned
#pleasedontkillme
#ElonianlivesmatterOh it’s my fault ANet gave us options for darker skin, okay that’s MY fault, sure….
Also how do you know exactly how Elonains would sound? Hmmm interesting……
I don’t recall if Koss ever had a voice acted out maybe I should go back and see sometime….
He did have voice acting in some of the cut scenes. If you actually want to hear it you can look through woodenpotatoes Nightfall Let’s Play for cutscenes he is in. Or maybe search YouTube for Koss.

Tequatl will give you from 10K-15k karma the first time you do it each day.
I just wish he’d stop saying “Eat my dust!” worst line in the game. My Mesmer’s signet makes him spam that line over and over.
You can turn the character comments off
If I remember correctly it’s

/upsetYou Didn’t get it. I said nothing about emotes, I’m talking about postures. As in how the character looks at all times, while he/she is standing, running, walking, or carrying a
weapon. I’m talking about costumizations, not emotes.
You said and I quote, “I thought to myself, kitten wouldn’t it be awesome if I could make my character cross her arms while she is standing”
And I answered that you can make your character cross her arms while she is standing by typing in chat, /cross arms
Feel free to ignore the in game ability to cross her arms and to continue to ask the Devs for another way to cross her arms.

They won’t be a single drop because they’re listed as junk trophies, like the mangled claws, brittle bones, cogs, etc. All these are also needed for the collection.
The collection was added after the fact. We got these junk trophies since launch. The achievement was added later when the basic collections were added to the game. It might have a lower drop rate but it shouldn’t be a one time thing.
They are still in game. Ive gotten them, although I don’t remember the map. According to wiki thr crustacean mobs will either drop shells ot seashells, so if you get a shell move to a different map.
Put it in your bank and let the matter sit For a few days. That will give you time to decide if you want the gold or the legendary. I doubt the Devs will ever change the way it looks. It’s been 4 years and only a handful of posts asking for it which isn’t exactly a large number of requests. But put it to one side and think about itvwhen it’s no longer the new thing you got.
They recently added the ability to support to undelete characters. However certain restrictions do apply. You could contact support and discuss it with them to see if you char is able to be undeleted. You should check though to make sure that the original birthday is kept an it won’t be a day one char when it’s undeleted.
I wonder…
I heard they can now give you back your char if you delete it. Try asking support if deleting and then restoring a char will reset the birthday to headstart.
The birthdays are to the minute. So it will show 1459 until the clock ticks over, which means it still could be today but be off by a few hours or even only a few minutes.
Last year I was absolutely positive my 3 oldest chars were made exactly at headstart plus a couple of minutes. It turned out that I had remade 2 them and forgotten. Maybe yours is bugged, but maybe you remade and forgot. .
Care to post pix of the focus, scepter, and GS?
There’s a link to a gallery in the Gemstore items thread.
How would a skill be reskinned though? Right now it’s set up for reskinning of armor, weapons and gliders.. It’s not set up to reskin something on your skill bar. It’s a nice idea but it would probably take more work than it’s worth to set up some skill to have the ability to be reskinned with a weapon skin.
Hmm when is the next fall ?
Also waiting….
Is there like a petition system or something ?
It was available last month.
6 bank tabs full? Are you sure you mean that? Each bank tab is 20(?) slots. That would be 120 blsk, in one year plus the ones he was using up during the year. That would be extremely unusual and no where near average.
Edit: 30 slots. That’s 180 plus in one year. No way!
The reason they abandoned Guild Wars to make Guild Wars 2 was because Guild Wars was a lobby game with instanced maps and they wanted to make a full fledged mmo.
Anet confirmed many times that the instance part was by design, it has nothing to do with the inability of making it non-instance based.
better yet, GW2 is pretty much the same, limited player count per shard, small areas instead of a true open world.
Of course the instanced part was by their design…..
The point was that they said they wanted to do more than they could do with the original game. They couldn’t turn a lobby game with instanced maps that hold only a handful of people at a time into what they wanted so they abandoned it to make this game.
(edited by Bruno.3812)
It might be a bug but it might be deliberate to make it different than the other glowing eye helms and to bring out insanity part. Eyeballs showing are more insane looking than a glow.
Maybe it’s showing through because it’s made of bloodstone, which is stone made of blood, insanity and unbound magic?
The reason they abandoned Guild Wars to make Guild Wars 2 was because Guild Wars was a lobby game with instanced maps and they wanted to make a full fledged mmo. Unless they decide that they want to make something besides an mmo then I dont see them making Guild Wars 3.
I have no idea why people ask for GW3. It would mean years of little or no content for GW2 while they make it and you’d have to abandon an account and characters you spent years working on.
As someone who usually obtain all or two of all three dailies through PvP, I agree that the old PvE dailies are much better than what they are now. Thanks, I do not want to do adventures. I am not interested in re-doing puzzles I have done before and I most definitely do not memorize their names, so if for any reason I want to do one of these puzzles I have to google where the kitten is it.
I feel bad for people who only do dailies through PvP.
You don’t have to google it. If you click on the description on the daily panel it will bring up the big map and then move what you see over to a waypoint and say it’s near here. After that, just follow the crowd or look for commander or mentor tags.
What if they added another rule to conditions where if the target is nonliving a condition causes vulnerability to damage. That way you won’t see gates bleeding or crippled for examle but instead conditions cause it to take more damage faster. Keeps immersion but makes conditions useful too.
Yes. It would be great if we could wear our armor headpiece with an outfit. It should be possible since the outfit headpiece already has a toggle.
There never has been a time that armor and outfits could mix and match. I’m not sure why you thought it would be different in this one case.
Instances are not servers. Servers are what everyone joins when you create your first character. Instances are private/small party parts of the map that only exist when you go into them. They are made for any content that is done by 5 players or less. They collapse when the last player leaves.
They’ve said they are working on it but no release date has been announced.
See that’s what I thought some one would say people like you only think of them self never of others your response is very rude.
What do you realistically expect someone, or even Anet to do about this? Like is there some easy to do graphic setting or toggle they could include, like some kind of alternate color blind mode, that would offset this?
If Anet designed something that is giving seizures, then Anet made a mistake and should fix it. You would be surprised at how many people are affected by this, and not being aware of this is just poor game design.
That’s easy to say, but hard to do. The triggers are different from person to person. One person it might be a certain sound at a certain pitch. Another, it might be a flicker of lights at a certain rate, but for a different person it’s a flicker of lights at a different rate and neither is bothered by what triggers problems for the others. A third might have problems by the way the camera moves during watching a vista and won’t find this out till he sees his first vista. There’s no way that any game can be designed to eliminate all triggers for all people.
Buying the precursor is good, unless you want to make one of the new Legendaries or if you think that buying your precursor or Legendary off the trading post isn’t legendary.
where did you ‘find’ this picture?
The “name” of the image is Screenshot__249_.png 1,920×1,080 pixels. Perhaps he found it in his screenshot folder.
