They don’t have a dungeon team any more. The head dungeon guy was laid off a long time ago and the remainder of the team was folded into the Living Story teams.

(And now that I read what I wrote, it sounds like the punchline for a bad joke).

Crafting experience doesn't move the XP bar

Crafting never affected a mastery line. It increased leveling XP until you reached level 80, but not a mastery XP.

Um… but the main thing is that crafting gives a very specific thing: XP. That’s the same stuff that we get from kills, events, exploration, and story. If crafting doesn’t affect the mastery line, why should any of the other normal ways of obtaining XP work? Maybe we should only earn level XP from adventures! Uhoh, I said that aloud, didn’t I.
Well… beware the next patch.

They disallowed crafting XP to give mastery line XP. Possibly because they wanted people to progress the mastery line by playing and not crafting. I’m sure some people would take a level 80 char, get the cheapest crafting to 400, take their next level 80 char and repeat, if crafting leveled a mastery line like it did crafting.

well if they cheat in dungeons they should get banned for it, or maybe anet should fix these bugs ? seeing they are here since day one already.

No one said they were cheating. Running past mobs is not cheating and ANet has never said stacking in corners was cheating either. But it was cheesing and many admitted to doing dungeons the fastest and easiest ways possible to get it done, get the gold and do the next dungeon. There was really no reason for the game to reward dungeoners a gold or more for 15 minutes of playtime and reward open world players a silver or two for the same amount of time played. The two rewards were grossly unequal and now they’ve been brought closer together.

If you enjoy dungeons, do them. You’ll get rewarded for the time you spent there about the same as PvE players are now rewarded for playing PvE (and it will be a better reward that PvE players got for playing how they liked for the last couple of years).

That’s like saying you should be rewarded for sitting in town exploring the same as someone who is running a raid.

If you do harder content, you should get rewarded appropriately. If they want to do Dungeons, they should get better rewards than someone who is just running around the open world exploring. Harder content should give better rewards. If everything was equal, then there would be no point in doing harder content.

At OP, the game has gone in different “directions” since its release. A lot of people were happy with the way things were, and the changes upset them. So, they come here to voice their concerns and provide feedback on why they are unhappy with the game.

In all honesty, GW2 doesn’t really have any clear direction right now. Or more like, it hasn’t had one for awhile. Things are constantly being 180’d, and then there are changes that just don’t make any sense. And then the focus keeps shifting all the time. I honestly feel Anet doesn’t know what they want to do with this game. Or they are trying to do too many different things at once, and it just isn’t working.

So yes, the post are going to get more negative as time goes by, cause people were happy with the way things used to be, and then it got changed. Simple as that. Happens with all games.

I did dungeons. They were not that hard, certainly not 1 to 1.5 gold in 15 minutes worth of difficulty. They got nerfed down to a more appropriate level of reward for the time and effort. Dungeon players may be angry about that but they were overcompensated for what they did for a long time.

The first 3 points gives you shoes, pants and chestpiece for all 3 weights. If you just linked the account today, wait 24 hours. If, after 24 hours you still don’t have them in your Guild Wars 2 wardrobe and Kimmes doesn’t have them for you in the HoM in gw2 there you can try this,

1) be logged out of Guild Wars 2. log in to Guild Wars 1. Go to the HoM and speak to Kimmes. Switch between viewing the HoM for account or character to reset it. Log out. Log back into Guild Wars 2 and check your wardrobe.
2) if it’s still not there, go to the HoM in Guild Wars 2 again and speak to Kimmes after trying above. He should have the items then.

I noticed that it wasnt in the wardrobe at least on my characters to select since the items i have require you to transmute items. Is this a glitch or do i need to go somewhere special to access the wardrobe of items?

If you have the skin already it should be available to all that can use it. If, for example, you are looking for the HoM staff skin in your character’s wardrobe, that character will need to have a staff equipped to see it.

Maybe say what you are looking for and on what character.

Am I To Mediocre For This Game?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Bruno.3812

I’ve noticed that what you’ve talked about is what I would consider upper level play. (PvP, dungeons, fractals, raids). In upper level play, yah, mediocrity shows up more and is punished more. If that’s the only content you like to do and you’re not particularly skilled, you’ll need to pick one and concentrate on it. Learn it inside and out and become skilled in that section of gameplay.

thats i because anet has made some weird kitten changes to the game, or like angry joe would say, its al about the cash now. Like lets looks at the gold nerf,

They changed the amount of gold we get from dungeons, and who no’s what other stuff, but do the prices in Auc house change ? NOPE

because the rich haf jst become more richer and are flippen the ….. out of it now so they only get richer, but new players have no chance in frozen hell to compeet unless we buy gems and change them to gold.

Way the go Anet for making a gold sink and leaving bugs in the game that where there since day 1 :S

i thought well after a year or 2 not in gw2 i might come back give it a go with the new Hot exsp. Loved it but now after a week or 8 this game is getting more and more a sink (reminds me of some other companies that went under because of this concept)

dont get me wrong i love the game but some of the devs should have been fired for there weird kitten idears on “how to balance this game so we make more cash”

thats all i wanna say about it.

They nerfed gold in dungeons and added a gold faucet to general PvE for doing events, the Shiny Bauble which is worth 30 silver each. This means gold is going not to the people that do dungeons but to the people that do PvE on the maps.

Now, 30 silver at a time isn’t that much but when it’s 30 silver to all the people doing events it adds up and most likely is bringing in at least the same amount of gold to the economy.

so basicly you are telling me if i like to do dungeons im screwed because anet thinks i make to much gold thats way ? and are forcing me now to do pve event even if i wouldn’t like to do those ?

i thought we could play the game like we liked to play it, not like anet wants use to play it ?

I was only referring to the part of your comment about gold nerf to this game and how the pricing of items in the TP post hasn’t changed (and the reason is, it’s because the gold coming in to the game hasn’t appreciably changed).

But looking at it objectively, why should dungeoners (many who admitted cheesing thru dungeons by skipping mobs and stacking) get 30 gold a day when people who stayed in the open world and did events got a few silver? By nerfing dungeons and buffing open world they brought the rewards for playing them closer together. Previously it was the open world players who were screwed (for the last couple of years) for playing how they liked and now get some of the gold that dungeoners used to get.

What armor weight was it?

If it was light armor, they changed the way it looked because the female light armor was too close to human cultural armor.

Edit: go to your bank, then to the wardrobe section. Choose armor. At the top of the wardrobe is a search function. Type in flamewalker.

as i was playing wvw tonight, i realized that the chest of the mists i had earned on my finished reaper was soulbound. I thought, “oh i’ll slot this in the bank and pull it out on my revenant…” no. i’m sure this has been asked before, but why are these soul bound? why are the tokens soulbound too? why are you bottlenecking the community into playing the pve content?

I’ve read of one workaround. Play on one char until you’re close to getting a chest then switch to the char that needs the chest.

Not particularly convenient, I know.

I just want to chime in. Not as an economy or psychology expert but as an average player. Working towards most goals in this game isn’t fun because they directly or indirectly require huge amounts of gold. Making gold isn’t fun. You either play the market (something only a select few can do or otherwise there would be no profit in it) or do the easiest, fastest, most profitable but boring and repetitive content until you can’t stomach it anymore and ultimately end up dropping not only the content but the game itself.

The game needs income. People purchasing gem shop items or gold with real money. Something which I’m not opposed to. However, the amount of items coming in through the gem shop only and the frequency they come with and the in-game things that requires a high amount of gold makes it so that the amount of real money required for someone who likes these things but can’t or doesn’t want to do the two most profitable activities (playing the market or dedicating entire days to grinding repetable content) ends up so high that they might as well be paying several monthly subscriptions. To just one game.

They say a rising tide (more gold coming in to all players) lifts all boats (the players). But what happens after all the boats are lifted up? In comparison to all the other players, you’re still at the same spot. However all the other players now also have more gold to spend. What happens when lots of gold is chasing after scarce items? Prices go up. In no time at all, you would be back on the forum complaining you don’t have enough gold to buy things because they are too expensive. Nothing at all would have changed.

The PvP tags are too bright and unlike the mastery numbers which are also bright, they always show up. It feels like they did this to push PvP and say, look how many do PvP!

Found this picture to show how visually distracting they are.

Idk. Compare it to the fight in Guild Wars 1 where you kill Abbadon. Go in, knock the two hands down. Dps the head. Rinse and repeat. They probably could have designed Mordremoth to be better looking than a large, green, tubby dinosaur, but fight wise it needs to be on a scale that your average solo player can do.

[Suggestion] New tab in Journal for NPC lore

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Bruno.3812

Sounds interesting though I can think of a situation that might confuse some people. For example, if you don’t get the information from the young Seraph but later in Orr you see him again. This might confuse people who wrongly believe that these are 2 separate NPCs in different maps with the same name.

Well if you encounter him in Orr first and unlock his story there, it should indicate that there are more stories before this one that you can unlock.
And maybe the story NPCs should have more distinct names, to avoid confusion.

I would really like to see Tybalt Leftpaw story.

Personally, from the way you phrased it, I thought the unlock was with the younger one only. It feels rather immersion breaking and disjointed to me to have a the older one unlock first with his later information then go to the younger one and get his introductory information. If they are going to unlock with information that changes according to their travels through the land, they should be in sequence only.

I don’t do that one often. Most of the time, by the time i appear, I’m already a wisp. I then spend the remaining time wandering around eating vengeance points. Not exactly the most exciting time I’ve ever had. Maybe the loading area needs to be a protected spot where you’re invulnerable until you leave it.
