Just bought HoT, still can't use Black Market

There is a waiting period to make sure the money clears. They have to do it this way because of bank and credit card fraud.
It’s more than a few days for some things.
If you know how long perhaps you can post a link.
Here’s the link: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Account#Limitations
Good luck.
I didn’t see trading post/gem length of time restrictions after purchase by a f2p account in that site.
Nvm. 72hours presumably

I bought them and they’re worth it. Every single toon I have has a copper fed, 3 permanent harvesting tools, a home portal stone as well as minor QoL items such as a Bloodstone Fen portal. The account bound slots are multipliers of items you have to the number of toons you have.
“There should ALWAYS be a way to gain experience, always…”
Ever played one of the other mmos out there with a max level? Once you reach the max level that’s it till the next expansion which may be a couple years away. You don’t see the players in those games threatening to delete their account or characters because they’re not gaining experience anymore.
You could always open up your mastery panel and do masteries until you unlock levels if it means that much, but threatening to delete for something so trivial? I don’t see it.
No, previous iteration of BL Chests always had a booster in the first slot and during events we got a 4th slot with the seasonal event item.
That’s it! There was a permanent additional slot for seasonal items. I knew something used to be different before. Thanks!
P.S. Back then, I would occasionally receive truly rare drops like home instance nodes or permanent contracts — something that hasn’t happened at all since the BLC functionality update.
It’s only been 2 months and a few days since the update. How often did you get home instance nodes or permanent contracts? Surely not every month or two.
It’s ridiculous how one is being tricked by ArenaNet these days. By adding the “seasonal gift” to each BLC, they significantly reduced the number of valuable drops per chest. Adding the chance of a fourth slot drop doesn’t make up for that fact.
Previously that slot was taken up by a booster so unless you’re counting boosters as valuable drops then there isn’t a significant reduction.
As far as I recall, the booster wasn’t in each chest but only by chance, no? Or does my memory trick me on this one?
Your memory is tricking you. A Booster was a guaranteed item in the first slot. On Nov 1 2016 they were removed and replaced by a guaranteed festival item.
Edit: Posted results from Dulfy showing what was gotten from 100 keys. If you count the different boosters there are 100 boosters for the 100 keys.

The only funny part is that players think they are being tricked when Anet full out tells you what you can get in the BLC every season. Maybe ‘being tricked’ is code here for players not paying attention
Not paying attention indeed. Previously it was one guaranteed item and 2 random items. Now it’s one guaranteed item and 2 random items plus a chance for a 4th item. In addition there is now the preview to see if you want to use your key, black lion skins from selected older sets, a chance to unlock a random item in your wardrobe as well as getting a key for another chance if you get a duplicate skin. The chances for getting valuable skins has substantially increased with these changes.
This is a nice idea, but it won’t work. Seeing as there are always more than one map, you’d end up having guild owning the same thing just on a different map, so if you left you might not get back on to “your” map.
Nice idea, I just think it would be hell to implement.
In addition to this the maps close. If it closes a few minutes after a guild wins and everyone is sent to a new map then all that works is for nothing. That would be discouraging.

a booster is still better than nothing
and boosters can be really useful actually
Yes. But seasonal gifts are not “nothing” and many people complained about getting boosters also. For example, a post calling boosters garbage and getting them a kick in the face.
My opinion is that a few items should not be in the Black Lions chest. Get rid of transmutation charges and get rid of boosters. They are not worthy of being an item in the chest. Key drops are very rare and buying them is quite expensive. Making Boosters and transmutations charges so common upon opening a chest is a kick in the face. You should get something of value when opening a chest. Dosn have to be rare just useful. Or make keys drop more often. Ive opened about 50 chests recently in total and have no received mainly transmutation charges and boosters and bank express things. Frustrating how garbage that is
So, from the forum complaints ANet substituted one low value item for another. Not a low value item for a high value item.

There is a PvE reward track on all except the starter maps. It’s what records events you do and hands out map bounties. It’s possible that could be changed to be more like the WvW reward tracks if that’s what tracks guild claiming.
What I was wondering if WvW uses reward track progress to track individual’s WvW
Work and through that their guilds. If it does it may require tracking through a reward track also in PvE.The reward track imo doesn’t seem to be related to claiming or mostly anything other than general “farm” in WvW. And reward tracks in PvE….idk about that.
I suspect it’s the reward track. Counting the ticks per individual along a standard track would be easier to keep track of than variable damage from moment to moment to mobs, other players, doors and whatever else.

How does WvW sort out which guild is doing the most work?
Sounds interesting. But what would stop someone with a one person guild claiming the PvE event for himself before a large guild can claim it?
from the wiki
The Equipment tab of the hero panel opens with a “paper doll” model of the character and, to the left, a set of eight interface options: Equipment, Wardrobe, Dyes, Outfits, Miniatures, Finishers, Mail Carriers, and Glider Skins
go Hero Panel then at the top choose the option glider skins. Select the glider from the glider skins wardrobe.
What good would a soft trinity be in general PvE unless you also set up the events to require it? How about spvp where people are capping points and killing to score? Would a soft trinity work if it requires a healer but no way to target heal?
what would happen is you losing gold to see your item sit 1 copper less then a gold buyer, that will make for kitten sure that the gold seller buy theirs instead of yours.
Cheaper items sell before more expensive items. If your item is one copper less it will sell first.
Some words evolve, yes, because they’re used very subjectively, abstractively or loosely. But words that stand for scientific measures don’t evolve, because a second will always be a second and a meter will always be a meter.
And yet you wrote ‘tons of damage’ in your initial post when, according to my knowledge, damage is a concept which in itself does now weigh even a single, much less multiple tons.
D-Does that mean that the word ‘ton’ actually evolved to also mean ‘a lot’?
I have a very simple answer for that, and for the “wait a second” metaphor too.
A ton is usually a lot of weight for us humans, while a second is a short amount of time. So saying “there’s a ton of stuff” or “I’m afk for a second” can be metaphors for there being a great amount of stuff or for you being away for a short amount of time. They are constant.
DPS and km/h, however, are variables. The reason nobody says “that car is very km/h” instead of “that car is very fast” (aside from it sounding really wrong) is because “km/h” doesn’t necessarily imply a great deal of speed, it could be 1km/h as it could be 100km/h.
It’s the same deal with saying “a DPS class”. What DPS? DPS could be 1 damage per second as it could be 1 million damage per second. It could be extremely weak as it could be really powerful.
People in previous MMOs have come up with names for power based classes. Nukers, DDers, dmg classes, etc. I’ve never once heard “a DPS class” while playing a MOBA or older MMOs, this is a recent trend that is born from people not being able to speak proper English or not being aware of established MMO jargon.
Ton: a unit of weight equal to 2,000 pounds avoirdupois (907.19 kg).
It’s a scientific unit of measuring for weight that is also used non scientifically to mean a lot. Just like dps has a scientific meaning and a non scientific meaning, unless of course when you’re hitting them with a ton of damage you actually mean you’re hitting them with a 907.19kg weight.
Why do ranger pets always stay juvenile, no matter how many years you’ve had them?
After reading the OP what are we supposed to do? Go thru all the classes and all the spells and do the calculations as to which are most dps then in the middle of a fight use this math to decide whether or not to say MOAR DPS?
My Ranger heal skill we heal as one was gone.
Ya gotta do what ya gotta do man. If ya happiness depends on the notice of others then go for it.
I don’t think I’d want a sign over my head pointing me out as a noob. If nothing else it would make those people with a sign over their head pointing out their noobness targets for those that like to troll or scam the ones who don’t know how the game works.
Some are useful. More so on low levels without a lot of options though. On my low level human chars the Balthazar hounds are useful as a distraction and extra damage when fighting multiple mobs. Same for the sylvari Summon Sylvan. I’ve also used the syvari Grasping Vine on my level 80 sylvaris.
The item is an exotic. Can’t you get another exotic and put the skin on it if you want it for the looks? If you want it for making a legendary can’t you do world completion on your main to get your gift of exploration then have your first char craft the legendary?
Support has to change your email. Make a ticket and tell them your new email and they’ll switch it over. To contact them use the links at the top of this page. Support then Submit a Request. You’ll need to give enough information to prove your the account owner.
If you have one of the rift devices and use the skill when near a rift event marker it should make a rift appear.
No one has answered you in a day so I’ll put in a post even though I’m not a computer person. Maybe someone will post after me with more information. Try doing a client repair: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/201863008-Repairing-the-Game-Client. If that doesn’t fix your problem make a ticket and contact support to see if they can help you. The link is at the top of this page. support then submit a request.
You’ll only get one node, not two, if you buy both. The second upgrades the first to a rich node. Did you use them while in the Home instance? It won’t appear until you leave and go back in.
Theres currently 37800 MC for sale on the TP.
Doesnt sound like a shortage of coins to me.37800/150 = 252 people can craft a legendary weapon at one time if they don’t rely on the meager personal income. I dunno, how big is the player base of GW2 at the moment? and this is just for the legendary weapons. Then there’s guild halls, recipes, mystic weapons etcetc
You can’t look at a snapshot of supply at one instance of time and say that’s all there is to buy. If you check the gw2bltc you can get a better picture of hundreds of MC being sold every few minutes with that site showing almost 6k sold in the last 24 hours without supply being depleted.
One work around if you have bank accesses, either one time use or permanent. Have the char carry a bank access and have the revive orbs in your bank. If you die and decide to use one you can pull it from your bank that way.
Ez pz
When in there click on name. Select report. Select selling gold. It will then be investigated and banned.
Only 3 on the trading post after 2 hours is a pretty good clue that the drop rate is very low when you think of all the ToT bags that had been opened by all the players since the holiday started. It’s not just bags from this year. People have bags from last year saved up or bought from the trading post that they open to get this years items.

Shame they wont do anything since it’s a HoT thing. Just gives Anet even more ways to push HoT on everyone. Just like how DR’s only exist in base game, but not HoT. Keep it up, Anet.
Having DR in HoT zones would be stupid since every map resets every 2 hours.
And having DR on ALL base game content isn’t stupid? Okay.
do all base game maps reset every 2 hours? no? then it isnt stupid.
Okay my bad, then make it 2 hours for base game as well. DR kicks in WAY SOONER
on base.ill be honest the only map i farm thats not HOT is sw. and since it doesnt have dr on
the bags bots farm it all day. they are free accounts and latch on to a single character and copy their every attack and every move.this is why diminishing returns are
required. im seeing 5-10 bots per map constantly.of course reporting them does nothing. ill keep doing it anyway
They may be bots but f2p accounts can not send out any gold or items they get. They
can’t mail out gold/items and guild vaults are locked to them. So botting does them no good until they buy the game, as their wealth is locked to that account. Even after buying they can’t send gold/items out freely for a month. They are restricted in the amount of gold they can send out (an increase of one gold transferred out every 10 hours) and the amount of gold and items put into and withdrawn from a guild bank.
So not only is their wealth locked up for f2p, they can’t easily send gold out if they are no longer f2p and if they are banned they lose all it all.
Yes I read your post. My answer was that they have a purpose and a value to people who get a cosmetic aura. They allow the aura to be switched between characters and to be salvaged out and resold when no longer wanted. That may not be a useful thing to you it’s a useful thing to everyone who buys and uses these auras.
Raids didn’t come with core Tyria. They are expansion content. Dungeons are core Tyria’s group content.
Could the players who only had vanilla WoW do the raids that that came with that game’s first expansion without buying the expansion?
You can use these accessories to put the aruras in such as the Poly Luminescent, the Queen Bee or the new Phospholuminecent. Those are only able to be put in exotics and unlike the other exotics they are account bound, even after being equipped so you can switch the auras from char to char. In addition you can salvage them to get the aura back to sell it if you no longer want it.
The pink glow says it’s been opened already. If you haven’t looted it before on that char then it’s probably a bug. You might try again tomorrow after reset but it might be permanent.
You only get one piece of gear anyway, a low level pair of boots so you’re not missing much.
Since they already know about the multi loot that post is probably directed towards the changes in prices and supply from that and that’s them saying that they are going to wait and see what happens.
They may eventually do something about the AB multi loot, but that quote above saying they aren’t going to do anything to change the economy is only a week old so it’s unlikely they’ll do something to affect prices after saying that they aren’t going to do anything soon.
New elite profession and an existing weapon for it is my choice.
One problem with getting a brand new (to the game) weapon is that there will be at most a handful of skins. If you look at the number of choices for each weapon and think about the time to design an equivalent set of skins, to make crafting them, to make mystic forging them, to make a drop table for them, it’s a lot and that’s just one weapon. Will all professions get that brand new weapon or just a lucky few and the rest have to sit and wait their turn?
So most likely 2, maybe 3 professions will get a new weapon and it will have maybe a
handful of skins if you go the brand new weapon route versus everyone getting to use one of the old weapons and have a full wardrobe to select a skin from.I personally think they should add 3 weapons and each profession get 1 of the 3.
If I get it right you think it’s gonna be alot of work for Anet to make new skins for
those weapons and it’s not really gonna happen. But think of that way at game lunch there were alot of weapons with alot of weapon skins (way more then 3) so adding new weapons skin wise is possible if they really want to. If you cutting Anet some slack
then you giving the excuse not to make new design and innovation for the game because it “to hard” (Not tring to be a di_ck, just tring to be realistic IMO).
Yes, one should be realistic
After they are added then what? How many times can the game put in new weapons? After a few months they’ll be old skins and there will only be a handful of them. People will be asking for more than the few skins they got and asking for more new weapons.
It’s a feature that needs a lot more work than an elite spec and weapon and doesn’t add anything more than a new skin and an animation when you get right down to it. The elite specs add both new animations and new skins for substantially less cost.

It was originally in the game as a gold sink. Paying for repairs was removed, as I understand it, because either it wasn’t as useful as they thought or it was not an effective gold sink.
Just guessing, but maybe they left breaking armor and repairs in because reworking how armor breaks was too much trouble and maybe they weren’t sure if it might be brought back later.
The salvage kits now have a right click “salvage all” option. Choose masterwork and below from the choices given and you won’t salvage your exotics. If you’re salvaging exotics after that then it’s deliberate and you should be checking the prices first before salvaging them anyway.
You can use the dungeon tokens to buy a set of exotic armor and weapons with different stats than what you have. There is a dungeon merchant in Lions Arch who will show you what each dungeon has to sell and the stats that they have.
Dungeons give you a set 60 tokens per completed dungeon at the final chest. I don’t think they drop any.
You can also get exotic weapons, armor and dungeon tokens from doing spvp and wvw reward tracks.
I forgot to mention, exotics can also be crafted but that requires both gold and mats (materials) and level 400 in the right crafting professions.
Ascended can be crafted but it requires level 500 in crafting and ascended mats as well as regular mats.

, just tring to be realistic IMO).
