The game lacks enough endgame PvE content as it is. We certainly don’t need fractal rewards added to the other parts of the game.
Same as above. Got a response indicating I was “Being transferred to another department” after putting in my ticket on the 16th, meanwhile my friend that put it in an hour beforehand was refunded days ago. The queue for these is odd, to put it politely.
Diamond Skin stays where it is until the ease of facerolling your keyboard and applying all the conditions in an AoE is gone.

It will never happen. Anet isn’t Valve.
Anet’s priority is the bottom line and your suggestion wouldn’t increase that. Regardless of someone drawing up a sketch of some armor they’d still have to have their modelers/programmers make the meshes and textures, QA test for clipping (lol), artists design the gem shop ad.
Then they’d have to decrease their revenue by paying out gems to the creator? Why do that when people will already happily buy their reskins.
Now rework your idea so that anet makes at least as much profit off of it as they do now from reskinning armor and selling it for 800 gems or more in the store.
wrong actually, they actually didn’t mind it at first. the reason Anet decided to do something about is because of so many people whining about it. if you go back a few pages in this forum you’ll notice a few “tired of zerg content”
Objectively Incorrect. Anet has never adjusted content based on what people on the forums have to say. Whether or not people complain about zerg content anet will continue to use it as it appeals to the LCD and increases thier profit margins.

This is the one and only reason. Someone looked at the metrics, decided that the influx of gold from these events would not be profitable to gem sales and reduced the drops.

This is a horrible idea on many levels and would kill the game. Most casuals can barely dodge as it is, forcing them into PVT to get more out of a dodge would just lead them getting worn down and dying.
If you are trying to advocate for full cleric runs just say so and stop beating around the bush.
“Lore people” will play fractals once or twice and move on to roleplay in divinity’s reach while more dedicated players will get bored because it will lack any sort of challenge except bigger numbers.
What should be done is to severely decrease the number of scales, the difference between 1 and 9 is trivial. Introduce complex mechanics for higher tiers (not just numbers) and make those god kitten cinematics skippable. Obligatory reset included.
I am so tempted to be hyper critical on this post but I won’t, as it isn’t this single comment that has been frustrating but instead a culmination of posts in the CDI.
Suffice to say this post emphasizes why this CDI has been pretty good and not great.
What about this post deserves you being “hyper critical”? Nothing.
Issue: Fractal Levels Serve to add artificial gating and artificial difficulty to players.
Fractal Levels with the same tier are exactly the same. Read that again if it seems difficult to grasp. Fractal levels within the same tier are exactly the same. Increase in tiers poses no actual increase in difficulty aside from inflation in mob stats. Rewards are not appropriately scaled.
Solution: Remove Artificial Scales
1-9 becomes very easy, 10 -19 becomes easy etc etc. In this way there are 6 scales remaining (Thus artificial gating is removed). Properly adjust mob stats(Thus Artificial difficulty is removed). Properly adjust rewards for scales. Scales 4 and above would have appropriate Instabilities generated on the initial roll that would remain constant for the rest of the dungeon.
Issues: Progress reset/RNG of Instabilities
Everyone would need to do a whole 5 fractals again. Given the way the previous reset was handled by Anet I don’t see this as a problem for the developers.
Nobody likes RNG. Consider looking at your metrics and seeing which instabilities people currently avoid and removing those.
Issue: Irrelevance of Lore in Fractals
Currently only 4 fractals have relevance to Lore in GW2. Let me define relevance as " having direct bearing on the matter in hand; pertinent"
-Ascalon
A clear story regarding the Searing. Relevant to GW/GW2
-Thurmanova
Relevant to an entire zone and LS 1/2
-Aetherblades/Mai Trin
A clear retelling of previous and now inaccessible content relevant to LS 1
The remaining fractals are not relevant. They do not serve to enhance or clarify the current LS, events (dynamic or otherwise), bosses, characters, zones or previous events in GW or between the two games. Mysteries are only fun when there are clues, as I hope the vast and enormous negative response to Scarlet Briar from July 2013- January 2014 has shown.
Solution: Going forward continue to base fractals off of adjusted previous LS material, material pertaining to GW and the time in-between GW2 while making it clear why the connection is relevant and important. Please respect player intelligence and their ability to deduce said connections when doing so.
Problems: None.
Edit- After taking a moment to look closer at the guidelines and seeing that any statements that ask the reader to deduce the obvious is a bannable offense, I am going to take the time to explain why unskippable cutscenes are bad and should never be used.
Issue: Cutscenes
Currently GW2 uses a few types of these. The talking heads you see in the personal story. This includes invincibility to the viewer as well as a skip button. Generally as long as at least one player in the instance is viewing this, the conditions necessary for the instance to begin will not trigger. Following this we have the short vista like cut scenes used to show the players something, like the colossus at the start of cliffside fractal or the asura city at the end of the asuran fractal. These also give invincibility and have a skip button.
Finally and recently introduced are the unskipable variety. These freeze your character in place not only forcing them to look completely out of place in their idle stance among whatever is going on in the scene but also are unskippable as their name suggests.
The nature of these serve to break the flow of the game (being in control of what is happening to your character , seeing what is happening and being able to react) as well as increasing iteration time
Solution: Add a skip button.

I’ve been trying to avoid the question for a while now, trying my hardest to contribute to this CDI as much as the time lets me, while trying to push this question to the back of my mind. It never seem to be a good time to ask it, but then again I don’t think it’ll ever be a good time to. But you once said that you will give your opinion on fractal reset after you gave it some thoughts. I was wondering if you got anything for us. Will we ever be compensated for levels we lost and those over multiple toons? Just stating if it’s not even a viable thing for discussion anymore would suffice.I am pretty sure Izzy responded to this question a few months ago. I will check with him.

We’ve discussed dredge and rewards. Assuming any changes that actually take place aren’t the opposite of the opinions voiced here, there shouldn’t be any problems. Just add a new fractal every so often (similar in length/difficulty to thurmanova/aetherblade) and you can continue ignoring the malcontents asking for an explanation for a meaningless reset of their progress.

You know, I’m sure I will be as well. Honestly, the gameplay is extremely fun. Its just the aggravating builds that turn my experience (and my demeanor) sour.

The programmers are doing their best, I’m sure. You just need to give them time. Que’s were introduced how many months ago? 3? 7? 18? Who’s counting. They need more time to sort through all lumps in their sleek coding but it will take time.

Surely the patch coming “soon™” will have “lots of things we want™”, after all “nothing is off the table™” and all the collaborative concentrate the complaints in one easy spot to ignore development threads are in full swing after only a one week delay and dodging all the vital issues completely.
With all that irrefutable evidence how can you be anything but optimistic about this games future?

If they don’t make the content accessible to the Lowest Common Denominator they’ll see a loss in profits. Hence all the open world 1 pushing zergs. Now buy more gems.
The audience for GW1 isn’t the audience for GW2. This game is aimed at the people that would spend hundreds of dollars on farmville or other casual facebook games.
Personally I’ve always felt that the difficulty scaling in Fractals is a bit redundant. After all, once the creatures have started to one-shot you, does it continue to matter that they keep hitting harder?
It’s almost like I’m talking to an honest to goodness flesh and blood human.
That aside, the pace at which anet adds (permanent and instanced aka real) content is far to slow. Removing randomness would allow for people to work on speedruns and increase replay-ability. RNG has never worked in this game (see engineer elixirs) and should definitely not play a part in dungeons or what are supposed to be skill based encounters.
Don’t treat us like we are toxic, don’t treat us like we are a massive group. Don’t be afraid to talk to us individually and often. We bite but it’s because we don’t want to let go. Embrace the loving pain XD

Sockpuppets aside why is there no skip scene for the lesbian scene? Or is the reward for pushing 2 on scarlet one time only.

Dredge and rewards.
The people crying about rerolling are like the people crying about skipping trash mobs. It has absolutely 0 effect on them but they want others to play the way they want. If you don’t like rolling than just don’t do it.
Accept criticism.
Lore is of 0 importance.
A coherent and well told story is of the utmost importance. This generally requires decent lore.
I’d say all the classes have their use in FOTM, except Necro.
Even necro has a use in fotm.

Bomb Room
What players do not realize is that only about five dredge respawn infinitely.
It’s not that I don’t believe you but I would like to see a video of this on scale 40+ to see which dredge are constantly respawning. If it’s just some minor ones that’s fine, but if it’s Veteran Strazars and Oscilators thats a whole other thing.
If you believed all of that than I have a bridge I’d like to sell you as well as some prime swamp real estate.
I would like us to start of by listing the top three things we would like to see evolved in Fractal Design. Idea proposals can come after this stage.

They’re edgey dark winged shadow assassins. Terrible in form and function.
My opinion on necro’s in dungeons is that they’re awful in all respects and outclassed in everything they do save applying weakness.
Furthermore that build is pretty awful. Even with a good build Necro DPS falls short of real DPS like and ele or thief. Try adopting the build featured http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgRH-tiRSjU
Maybe if it worked like Consume Conditions or at least removed all conditions it would be worth slotting, until than no.
