Replace f4 with continuum. Core classes were supposed to lose something for elite spec. Change continuum to revert mesmer back in time (3/4 sec casttime) based on
the amount of illusions in the world restoring their hp, endurance, position from their last 1-4seconds, in addition reset cd’s on wep and utility skills – this does not include healing, shatters, elite skills.

Btw. alacrity shouldnt affect shatter skills.

Revenant vs Thief

Depends on many factors. Build, environment, skill. In general i would consider;

2 mediocre players – rev hardcounter thief here for both power and condi build. Rev is easier to play than thief at low level

2 average players – thief hardcounter condi rev, power softcounter thief

2 high players -forget about condi rev, that potato cannot do a kitten, power is getting softcountered

If thief know what hes doing he has upper hand in general. Reasons for it is overpowered steal ability that not only slows you for 4 seconds and crit for 4k! but also can be used 2x in a row. Thats 50% slow uptime which cripple rev hard.

Second reason is thief being too slippery with dash dodge to us since they added 5cd to PT, they cover large distance and clear chill, they can effectively poke and run avoiding our key skills which is sword 2,3, surge, i wont even mention jade winds here.

Our situational healing abilities. This is where thief has upper hand and can exploit our weakness hard like nobody else -main reason why i consider them softcounter. They can easily vanish and kite you as you pop ED preventing you from gaining any healing as you simply wont proc many if any of them. They have easy time to bait out Glint heal due to their poke n run playstyle rendering it useless unless he will do a mistake a serious mistake.

In general dagger/pistol is the most dangerous one to us, s/d is in middle ground (wouldnt consider dangerous) and staff is cakewalk.

If ED (something im pushing hard) was more frontloaded, PT got it cd removed and their f1 op ability nerfed (is it dmg or utility skill? decide guys, it cannot be strong at both) then rev would kitten on thief

They actually wouldn’t PvP uses a level 78 exotic coefficient. In WvW and PvE you are usually using ascended or at least level 80 exotic gear…

Take off devastation line and compare damage difference between thrust and precision strike (invidual hit). Precision strike deals less despite having higher tooltip.

sword scaling – known issue on our radar. it’s a tech issue of firing skills in different ways in the back end. The damage will have to be looked at and adjusted once this is fixed.

sword 2 targets – this is a known issue that needs some new tech to resolve but we know about it and it’s on our radar to fix.

jalis hammers – on just inclines? it shouldn’t end unless you run out of energy, turn it off or the projectiles hit walls. The projectiles should be hovering above the ground so they should follow the terrain of inclines.

uw legends – we know right now there aren’t many options. The work has to be weighed against other things we are working on but we’d like to eventually make more legends useable underwater.

Im aware of this post. But it in no way address the issue i brought about reducing our damage to single target as more enemies show up let it be players, player minions or group of mobs in pve.

Like i said sword is the only weapon in this game that behaves this way which lead us to either reworking all weapons in game to behave the same way or bring sword in line to rest. Sword in current state is unacceptable for me

I swear if they nerf it damage im completely done with this game.

It seems that they want to keep the damage the same in PvP (therefore nerfing it). It would be stronger in WvW and PvE.

To keep it the same in spvp but increase in wvw/pve they would have to buff scaling, but it wont change the fact about UA still doing less damage than autoatk atm. It still doesnt solve the issue with sword being the only weapon in game that loses it damage to target as more stuff show up.

I mean im not that kittened to attack mesmer clones over the real one, why my character is? I mist? I dont buy their “rev need to separate target” stuff as its not possible in current state unless they give us Shiro ability from gw1 to banish our target to another dimension without all the al crap.

If they want sword to be multi target reason due to Shiro lore, then why sword becomes crap vs multi targets? That also goes to Shiro healing ability which is nearly impossible to use under group focus. I mean sorry but in this case Shiro should be stronger vs multi targets than now. I often feel more useful in terms of dps with staff than sword when it comes to teamfight and that is wrong cause staff is utility weapon while sword is our only dps option. This is not even pvp issue but also pve, espesially raids with all the trash orbs and such.

So just because it gets fixed, don’t expect some sudden massive shift in damage. I do think people are fooling themselves here crutching on this bug as if it’s going to make a world of difference. It might, but they also seem totally prepared to nerf it at the same time as they fix it. I’d expect minimal change.

For precision strike maybe but UA? Its already been nerfed hard and does less than autoatk. “Adjusting” it damage would be a bad move. I swear if they nerf it damage im completely done with this game.

Im also curious about the split damage sword does if they ever plan to make any change regardless it. Teamfight or vs mesmer/mm necro? Both precision strike and ua are waste of energy in current state.

I can’t begin to tell you how frustrating it is to be pulled out of your well timed evasive skill by some noob who pressed 5 on rev staff at the wrong time. How is it skill when you can’t evade?

Evade into the rev or to the side, not backwards. This is not a hard attack to dodge once you see it coming, and revs often make it VERY obvious.

ESL…top tier players getting burst down by Surge every single match.

ESL doesnt mean a kitten. Most of these guys there are terrible and i have no issue to wrecking them 1v1 (which i did many times during ranked). Just bc they play in esl doesnt mean they are any good. Anyone can form a team and play in esl really.
Basing balance around few players in “top” is just wrong.

PS: Thief needed the buff OR it was rather revs needed a shave, the reason why you don’t see thieves or warriors because revs somewhat do their jobs better (cept for thief mobility to an extent)

A large portion of the changes occurring for the guardian are aimed toward reducing the dragonhunter’s group controlling and killing capacity in WvW while toning down its ranged spike damage capability prevalent in other areas. With that being said, we want to keep the dragonhunter competitive and still dealing high damage, but we want the damage dealt a little less instantly than before. The guardian is also going to be receiving some of the same target caps on its wall abilities while seeing some cooldown reductions on its base virtues.

Ive always used OH sword, for the block. At least Grasping Shadow gives a bit of Fury now, so I actually have a reason to use it, if Facet of Darkness is down or im not in Dragon Stance.

Im not super keen on axe, because the location where Frigid Blitz’s shadowstep dumps you is a bit random, and its put me into undesirable locations before, and Temporal Rift’s pull is a bit buggy. I find it fails to pull more often than it does pull, and the damage is just a bit underwhelming when it does actually hit.

Shield. No, because aforementioned self-immobilize, and barely ok-ish heal.

Why did they remove OH Dagger prior to release. It likely would’ve been better than any of the offhands Rev currently gets.

Wait, Rev used to have OH dagger instead of sword?

Also, I’ve been using sword more often now as well.

Never in live. It was data-mined though.

It was seen on stream too. Dagger oh would be cooler tbh. Dual wielding just doesnt work in this game

Adept

1. Hardening Persistence – Replaced with Dragonic Assistance (New).
Dragonic Assistance – Burn foes when you consume facet. 360 radius aoe burn, 1 stacks for 4 seconds.
2. Swift Gale – Merged with Harmonize Continuity.

Master

1. Shared Empowerment moved to GM and replaced by Enhanced Bulwark.
Enhanced Bulwark – Protection has increased effectiveness by 20%.
2. Crystalline Synergy (New) – Damage is increased based on the amount of active facets. 2% per facet.

GM

Soothing Bastion – Also added +180 toughness for wearing a shield. Cd on crystal hibernation proc increased to 30seconds.

Glint. Stance focused on providing offensive and defensive support via boons. Weakness; Conditions, soft and hard cc.

1. One with Nature (F2 active) – Reduced duration of boons by 30%.
2. Chaotic Release – reduced cd to 35sec.

Shield

1. Envoy of Exuberance – Reduced cast time to 1/2, reduced cd to 12cd, reduced healing to 1k. Increased projectile speed.
2. Crystal Hibernation – Decreased energy cost and cd to 15, reduced healing to 300/pulse. Reduced healing scaling to 0.3.

Imo main issue i have with herald is double stab on dodge. This alone makes you hard to pin down, espesially now with buff to the stab

Well it had good healing.. till they nerfed it into ground. In s2 i started running sword offhand as i value low cd block and interrupt more than what shield has to offer now. Still imo both are terrible in current state for me

Still, most people don’t use Ventari because of the micromanagement, like it or not. It has nothing to do with small changes. It’s the entire mechanic people don’t like.

True that. For that sole reason ill never touch ventari (+my selfish nature.)

Its unique mechanic, no doubt but at same time its not something that will work well.. The tryhard with some of the stuff is real just to make rev look unique.

Mercenary Amulet Needs Removed IMO

Amulet is not the problem here. If mercenary was OP then every class would use it.
If you want to continue deleting amulets then we might as well delete them all cus they are all op going by this logic. Tone down the classes that overperforms using this amulet as they are broken at core (hi mes cough cough)

I realized one thing due to our lifesteal bug.

“Vengeful Hammers: This skill has had a bit of a re-design. Decreased the damage done by 70%. The hammers will now heal you for a small amount when they hit a foe. While Vengeful Hammers is active you will take 20% decreased physical and condition damage. It also is now instant cast and lowered the from 180 to 120.”

Apart from the hammer deactiving due to environment/invul issues i feel the damage reduction was nerfed really unnecesary. A patch that was about “some love to Jalis” ruined him more and made even weaker than he was imho. Imo the damage nerf should be reverted.

While i like they finally payed attention to it they did it in wrong places imo. I can see where they were going for it but honestly shacking still doesnt worth casting with it poop damage for 10 energy, grasp shadow remains as the most weird pull in the game being an melee attack.

The only thing that improved here is the ability to keep someone in place by comboing 5+4. Thing is it cost total 35 energy and require myself to waste a block for this combination. Its not worth it by any means as i may as well do graps shadow in Glint, swap to Shiro and do jade winds.

Shame they only increased immobilize duration and added unnecesary buffs to grasp shadow+basically removed counterplay for shack wave.

If i try to use ventari i will be a running freekill to anyone. 0 sustain, 0 stunbreaks on top of the need to micromanage tablet which wont be possible at all in zerker amulet.

The point is unless you give rev possibility of mixing utility skills you cant go out and say they have cleanses. There is difference between wanting to get cleanses and crippling yourself. Atm revs has better chances fighting condi builds with no condi removal as funny as it sound. Picking up Ventari means death to both power and condi builds.

It’s not even close to a game-breaking bug. All of the sword skills were carefully tuned based on this bug and they’ll have to rebalance it once they do fix it; you won’t suddenly get much stronger.

Pretty sure they were tuned up based on tooltip number and not an actual damage. Besides, targeting random structures in the world (kyhlo map says hi) is not gamebreaking? Interesing that blinding blade doesnt suffer from this issue yet no fix for precision strike. Not to mention many other bugs going on like phase traversal failing to teleport for no reason while other teleport abiltiies goes off in the same places without issues.

baseline revenant then, wow, you’re totally crap.

Thats my problem with these patches. Instead of providing diversity, they force rev in herald even more than before. All of the patches so far hurt way more core rev than herald.

1 was resistance trait – 5cd. I was guessing it was a hotfix to tone down a bit revs till rework but nope. Its something that will probably stay for good.

2 was stability on dodge – core stab on dodge received 5cd, like wtf? Main problem is herald trait and they nerf core? Logic.

3 shiro riposte shadow nerf – while not much of a problem for herald, it breaks core rev even futher to unplayable levels

These 3 nerfs killed my core shiro/mallyx as i was relying hard on dodges to survive at all.

My main gripe is sword now and shiro heal however. Sword is broken. Damage spreads out drastically reducing it single target damage for whatever reason or logic. It is not how weapons in gw2 works. I dont deal 75% less damage on hb to my target just cause i am hitting 3 targets at once neither on lava font or literally any ability in this game. Why sword behave in such way then?

And ED.. i dont have to explain that one. A kitten heal was nerfed futher without any compensation. It making it even harder to trade damage with people now.

I really at this point want a new legend which would provide me mobility with normal heal and a new dps weapon that wont lose it damage just bc im not fighting 1v1. I would trash Shiro and swords right away and never pick them up again. I doubt core rev will ever be viable and based on their patch notes they dont intend to tone down elite specs at all. The buffs to Ventari are a joke as well.

I been playing MMO’s since i was a little kid, and I have come to the realization that no matter how much effort, time and sweat the developers put into a game the player base will still complain like whiny little girls.

I don’t see how this game is “broken.” Maybe you should get better at the game instead of ranting on the forums? You’re never going to learn to adapt to the meta if you just waste time ranting and not spending time researching how to play your class better. PvP in this game is much more balanced compared to most other MMO’s if you ask me.

Fix your broken game and give us a proper balance patch. If leagues are a problem and you dont want to balance mid season DONT LAUNCH IT, put these joke leagues on “hold indefinitely” like legendary weapons till you dont get your kitten together.

Also split balancing between modes already, how long playerbase has to suffer due to your “amazing” idea of keeping skills the same across the modes to “not confuse new players”.

As a thief player, dh needs a buff

Its not problem with dh. Core guardians needs a buff to it weapons and such but dh is fine.

What is not fine is that they keep buffing already broken stuff and basically no nerfs. Druid sustain is insane, broken condi mes got buffed. Stuff that should be reworked/nerfed was untouched. This is not balance, this is a circle of nerfing one class into ground and buffinf another beyon op levels.

The most fun fact is that all dh nerfs coming from wvw. Hammer rev suffered for the same issue – wvw. Split f. balance already cause there is no way to keep it up balanced in all gamemodes.

If that was balance patch and they dont plan to do nerfs and such i know for sure that i wont even touch pvp activity anytime soon.

Ventari is still trash, No way you will pick ventari over a druid
Sword nerfed even more, Sword #2 is trash now. Good game
Sword #2 is still bugged as hell
Mallyx is mediocre
Shiro got nerfed
Dward is crap, hammers are a bandaid in raids and bugged as hell anywhere else
Glint F2 is carrying the proff. If there is a 1 trick pony, this is it.

I honestly do not understand how anyone can play rev right now

If you think Mallyx is mediocre you’re not playing it right. I had quite a bit of success with Mallyx/Shiro last season vs all those necros out there.

Worst? Far from it. Broken in beta status? Yes. Even sword damage on skills is broken and deals less than intended yet no fix, but we got another nerf wohoo..

First they made something that was fine overpowered, there was no reason to touch sword auto nor precision strike but ok.. later on they nerf it bc they kittened up big time. Logic. “We dont want revs to use only autoattack in pve” and in same patch they buff thief auto to ridiculous level that your best bet to dps is autoattack.. Thats gold.
