Generally speaking other classes aparat from thief gains cd reduction. It means that technically rev with invocation should be able to swap more often like every 7sec. 15% was build baseline into classes and extra 15% was added to profession minor trait. Empty vessel would be a good candidate for that.

Also worth noting that they will neer buff revenant. If anything prepare for more nerfs as community for whatever reason still crying about this dog class already.

Day vs Night

As a counter argument, I’m running roughly a 50% win rate this morning. Nothing has changed except the time of day. I’ve also just reached T5 Sapphire, (starting from the bottom of T4 this morning, ) after weeks of frustration.

That being the case, 18 loss peak streaks and many around 10 losses are not justified. Nor is it accurate to claim that I am being held down appropriately by the matchmaker.

No, its not matchmaking. The only problem here is you. You want matchmaking to pair you with people that wll carry you. Thats now how it works nor how it should work. Legend this season is even easier to hit than in s2, if you cant advance then you belong to place where you are atm. If you disagree record a vid, post it so we can see if its the problem with your team or you.

That said its no longer actual. Rev weakness to condi was the price for being extreme strong vs power builds. Since all the nerfs that changed a bit this situation rev weakness to condi should change as well. Balance – give n take, not just take take with 0 compensation.

Many skills are dps loss. Theres no reason to cast sword 3 for example as it is not affected by quickness+it bounce off random kitten around your target so its actually a huge dps loss vs target, same goes to strike.

Yes, those are definitely DPS losses since they’re affected by multiple targets being present (or Sword 2 just going after objects…ugh). I still think that nerfing the AA isn’t necessary to fix them so much as just adjusting those skills to work better against single targets (as sword skills were intended to “single out enemies”) and to remove their energy costs so they’re an option off of cooldown without the detriment of energy loss when elites/utilities already drain it.

If Precision Strike only focused on whatever you’re targeting and UA only concentrated its bounces about on a single foe, then they would be better without having to buff their damage dealt.

Edit: The quickness thing also affects Mace AA 3, right? How quickness works on these attacks needs to be looked at in general. They really should at least make skill bug-fixes independent of balance patches.

Seems like they should buff 3rd sword (Unrelenting Assault) a lot to cover dps loss over animation or make it affected by quickness?

Spread damage to all targets in 300 radius (and reduce the radius to 300 as well) which means if you hit someone for 2k, everyone else in radius gets hit for 2k as well (or make it single target skill). Make it so quickness/slow will affect it without bugging out and fix it bugged damage cause it uses damage of base white sword.

Fix UA to not proc confusion multiple times and not break on stealth.. and it will be in a good spot.

Buffing damage is not an option unless they have tech to something like “gain +50% damage under quickness” but it would be broken with quickness on demand.

I advise lowering damage on AA and boosting damage on other skills. Also making them utilise and preserve energy the more balanced way.

This class has insane fun potential but its not done imo, rather its in broken paralysed state.

We’ve already had our AA nerfed before. We don’t need another one on top of it. I honestly think the skill damage is fine (though Anet might disagree seeing that Staff 5 lost a bit of its bite and they increased Precision Strike’s cooldown/decreased its effective range), but the energy issues are from both weapon skills and utilities being tied to it.

Remove the energy cost from weapon skills and let them be cooldown oriented instead of CD+Energy and people wont be as inclined to spam AA over skills.

Rev From Warrior Stand Point

About the sheild block. they changed the engineer’s sheild block why they even considered making another one that roots you is beyond me. Not to mention that if you are in a well (or any thing that places condi’s) you are just giving the opponent the free stacks. it is a completely stupid skill.

They made it selfroot cause it healed for high amount. Now shield is a joke

Thanks for voting and commenting. We’ve read through everything you’ve posted here.

Among people who expressed a clear preference for one of the options, about 230 people prefer to make the change, versus about 40 who prefer to leave it as is. We’ll make the change.

We’re also going to work on cleaning up the Charr tail clipping. And then our focus has to be on shipping the full legendary set.

The biggest offender for charr are helmets. Helmets should cover a neck, not just head while at same time removing hairs for no reason.. Good example how helmets should look like is is tier 3 cultural heavy. If you can desing different armor for both male&female humans i fail to understand why you cant desing a proper helmet for charr.

Now count how many nerfs they already did to the point where a power build has more than a fair chance to 1v1 rev. A thief literally kitten on rev 1v1 nowdays due to rev situation heals – one needs to hit ona short timer, the other one is countered by wep stow. So yeah after the nerfs and bringing him more in terms of power to other classes he do deserve a buff to condi clear like other specs. This is called balance – take and give. So far they took a lot from rev but gave nothing in return.

Sigh So many casuals swarmed the topic already…

What I said is that thief is un-viable in competitive play, it’s simply the weakest class in the game at the moment, every team captain knows it.
Rly, why would u pick thief in your team if u can get a revenant that does same thing as thief (making offnode fights 1v2 with easy kills) and does it even better than thief thanks to revealed skill YET revenant has crazy teamfight presense and rocks 1v1 against many classes (except necroses/mesmers condi meta users)

For people who don’t see a picture from both thief and non-thief perspective plz don’t respond to this. Because u don’t get how useless he actually is and you notice them only when they finish you off thanks to you letting yourself get below 50% hp without paying attention to enemy rotations.

So far thief is:
Can’t 1v1
Can’t teamfight
Can’t hold

Can run around waiting for enemy to get low but revenant can do the same yet rev can do all what thief can’t

Can decap

That decap thing is easily solved by putting solo engies/rangers/eles/mesmers on node where they will simply chill and watch and laugh at thief running around while he’s being useless.

Oh and another way to make thief viable in teamfights… Give Unload skill an unblockable and piercing tags. Pet/reflect spam just makes it beyond worthless, even after recent buffs, which didn’t change anything pretty much.

Thief can team fight but mostly +1 or Unload spam and stealth rezzes.
Thief can hold because thief can 1v1.

If thief has 2 ppl cornered onto point, means thief made game 3v4 on other points favouring thief team.

Unload spam doesn’t need any of that, you need to start looking at enemy skills and using yours accordingly. Does he have Magnetic Aura up? He does? Don’t use Unload.

A thief is not a Warrior or Rev where you can face tank, make mistakes and still win.

You probably didn’t play this game for at least 2.5 years….

I’ve been playing every other class….

Like I said I’m not even good thief, this season is my first season ever playing thief in PvP, 42 wins out of 47 games.

But I can 1v1 every class on thief and win.
I can team fight, rotate and decap really fast thanks to mobility.
I can hold 2 sometimes 3 people on far point alone.
I can rez allies under shadow refuge or stomp when needed.
I apply fury swiftness might vigor plus 2 or 3 more boons to allies when I steal (so I steal stab/protection alot)
I spam Unload a lot when needed for might stacks or damage, 8k bursts with might stacks already seems OP to me and doesn’t need a further buff. Maybe, MAYBE bring back Ricochet.

Like I said, I’m not even good at thief. I just play the role.

Then you must be better than Sind and Levin because i didn’t see them doing that in legend.

I don’t even know who they are but I’m assuming you’re referencing a pro team who fight other pro teams yes?

I’m just a pug in solo q matched against other pugs. I’m assuming they could do that too if matched against other pugs without a Teamspeak to easily track enemy movements.

No, i am talking about normal matches in legend and not pro team vs pro team. I faced levin and sind frequently and by all means they are best thieves on EU atm and i don’t see them doing what you claim you can do.

Bringing up scrapper is just beyond laughable at this point as engi was always hardcountering thief and everyone knows it, it feels like you trying to make a thief look as weak duelist by mentioning scrapper, defense mechanic triggered i guess. I guess thief will be viable only when you will be able to go and faceroll any class/build 1v1 without even looking at what your opponent is doing. Also, dont ask about stuff which you dont really want to know.

Roiling Mist increases crit effectiveness by 100% , If the rev already has 20% crit chance , With fury (requirements of the roiling mist effectiveness) would make it 40% crit chance. Fury is a boon that gives 20% crit chance. When the rev has roiling mist and fury, you basically have 60% because of the trait (roiling mist 100% crit effectiveness) and Fury (20% crit chance.) If you do not understand this. I am done going back and forth.

No this is not how it works. The trait works only with fury boon, wich means if fury gives 20% more critical chance, with this trait fury will give 40% more critical chance. So is not true you have 60% critical chance when using this trait. You have 60% critical chance if you have 20% critical chance stat, and fury. Its not the 20% of fury plus 40% from the trait…
Death Perception necro trait work very similar, except that increase 50% critical chance instead of 20%.

You just said the same thing i said just worded it differently… Fury boon gives 20% crit chance. Roiling mists gives 100% crit effectiveness. so if you have 20% crit chance already and use roiling mists… you will have 60% ….

That logic.. and people wonder why EU owns.

Preventing cc is more important and far more effective than taking it and waste energy/legend to stunbreak. Its also uite hard to bait out as theorytically you can have perma stab. Pair that with two blocks on 10 and 12cd and youre fine really.

Since when invocation became mandatory? Retri+herald stab trait is still enough to shrug off any cc. Stunbreak on swap is nice perk to have sometimes but definitely not mandatory. The only mandatory line rev has is herald really. I would argue about retri being mandatory as well due to dwarf battle stance+stab and dmg reductions which is hard to let go (if you played with berserker amulet like me).

I don’t think its a bug per-se. Rather, I think its due to the fact that UA is programmed differently than most other skills and is actually programmed to act kitten separate attacks, likely for a specific reason related to the unique properties of the attack. Perhaps its because its a single-target attack that hits multiple enemies. Perhaps its because they wanted it to end if the original target died.

Perhaps bc whole revenant class is badly programmed and we know who is responsible for that. Even 3rd mace chain strike is kittened and doesnt work with quickness. Or PT canceling teleport and going on cd (+energy..) cause on your way there was small stone yet guardian/mes/thief has no issues to teleport over the same path. Its not supposed to trigger multiple times, “someone” just kittened up

Works for me. You have to remember that legend dialogues were always rare af. They completely dont hold to what was said in the blog. Once in a blue moon youll get a dialogue but dont count for anything else.

One of many useless traits, bugged skills that cannot land due to terrain issues, cd on utility skills that wasnt supposed to be here, ridiculous energy costs, long cds on some wep skills (staff, shield), a joke sword which for whatever reason loses 50/75% damage to a single target if a pet/minion/whatever will be near, an shiro pathetic heal that can be reflected to heal your target..

But hey.. they “fixing” pulsating. Lets praise them.

UA triggers confusion for every hit right now (5 times) and this is a known bug.

No other similar skill triggers confusion this way (warrior’s 100b for example).

We are waiting for a fix…

If you want to post such bs, you should do it with source. Abilities trigger confusion only once.

This is my suggestion in regards to pvp. Buff cleansing channel minor on the invocation line to remove 2 to 3 condis on swap and allow shield skills to remove 1 or two on use. Maybe one if you buff cleansing channel. This will bring revs more up to par versus condis and encourage more invocation revs over passive retrib.

What stops me from going retri/invo/herald? Been there, done that.

Someone at Anet forgot their original manifesto when it comes to revenant. Revenant was supposed to be as mobile as thief outside of combat which wasnt the case the moment they slapped 5cd, even less so with 35 energy crippling our ability to close gap. Now if we had other sources of mobility.. but thats not the case. At best we can count for Mallyx potato with short leap or axe 4 on 12cd that can be dodged.

They can remove unblockables, idc, but cd has to go and energy should be reduced to 25. Its already bugged skill and fails most of the time.. If they have a problem with mobility, they should consider reducing range to 900 instead.

Neither Frigid precision nor diabolic inferno are okay. Frigid precision is completely useless and not worth to pick up above the other two.

Diabolic on the other hand missed the powercreep which other classes have received. For gm trait its kind of lackluster. Pretty much all burn traits also increases duration or damage. See;

The closer one to diabolic is Incendiary powder. Diabolic is lacking here and +33% dura would bring it on par with rest. You picking it up atm bc the other 2 traits are a joke.

Maniacal would be fine if it increased crit chance based on the amount of condi your target has (3% per unique condi). Pair that with bolstered, condi copy from Mallyx elite and you have a nice toy to play with.

Redeeming PT for Shiro

I’d be okay with that as long as the damaging part of it remains. That helps keep the target in combat when they flee. As it is now, a fleeing target is the only time I use PT, and only if I know I have help coming up behind me. Otherwise I’ve got nothing except AA. I used to actually like PT’ing and then Sword 5, to drag the target back. Can’t do that now.

I never thought of trying that combo….I was to absorbed by staff/hammer gameplay (I simply like the playstyle of those weapons).

I have been using that combo for a while in wvw when chasing people down. Fun thing is sometimes i had to use PT even from 500 range cause kitten pull is melee LOL

Shortbow is a nope. 900 range is awful. I want rifle/lb. Just look at my baby;

The trait is actually working as intended (25% chance to apply torment), but the tooltip is incredibly inaccurate.

That said, I don’t think it’s GM worthy with a 15s ICD. How does 10s sound?

Never had any trouble playing revenant until they increased costs for phase traversal. Feeling kinda clumsy ever since, not to mention good mesmers and thieves would kite me 24/7 on WvW. Before that “nerf” I’d just get to them with phase traversal and if I do it now I’ll end up with only autoattacks and dodges available. And good players will know that.

Same, really enjoying some of the games on my backlog. How is smite doing BtW? I haven’t played since the end of the beta.

Next week we will be getting a new god – dwarf that can turn into dragon. That should give you an idea.

I told it before and i will say it again. They cant balance warrior in current desing. He will be either trash or op as desing wise hes poor af. Basically damage, some cripple, some vul and that is. Lack of evades/blocks which forces them into stances. What war needs is a active defenses like everyone else, lets stop with this absurd passive gameplay they have.

I played much pvp and wvw after the nerf.
My feelings are that the nerf is not soooo heavy.
Good revs will have no Problems with the energy.
Swap after ur PT legends , if the enemy kite u after that und can use staff 5 .
atm ich have no problems with the nerf.

I would rather play with Mallyx than Shi(t)ro. At least his mobility has no cd and doesnt need a target. +Potent healing skill, unlike this trash Shiro heal.

As long it doesnt provide rev any advantage in pvp (see anhi trait) it wont get fixed anytime if ever. I have stopped playing this game completely and since then.. im far less frustrated. That was a good decision.

its ridiculous. thief can instantly get 6k distance using a few skills. but rev having a 1200 distance skill that didnt use 80% of the energy you start with was clearly too much for the ’legendary ’ assasin.

If Shiro is a “legendary” assassin then current thieves will be seen as gods/unstopable force by future people. The irony man, the irony..
