1. Why sword 2 and 3 are the only skills iname that split damage between targets? No other skills ingame works this way. Additionally it doesnt even make sense from desing point. AA scales up with more targets around while 2 and 3 does the opposite. So is sword single target or multi in the end? Also why sword 5 still dont shadowstep to the target or.. anything tbh? A pull in melee range.. i dont get the purpose of a pull in melee range..
2. Why you gutted stability on dodge minor trait (and whole retribution line due to that)? It was never the issue. The issue was extra long stack of stab on herald and it was the trait which needed a nerf, nothing else. Your change only hurt core rev, moreover its totally lack any sort of synergy (yet again) with evade skills proccing it at random times when we may not even need it.
3. Mallyx “rework” was supposed to be temporary yet here are several months later and.. what? Mallyx remains blant with his elite being completely useless. You could have added a special trait to bring old his back style like with corruption necro but you havent done that. Why?
4. Outdated traits. One has to explain me why we have 2 sword adept traits in devastation who does literally the same? It was suggested to replace one with move speed many times but year later we still have +150 fero/10% dmg stacks. Why traits are outdated and simple things are not addressed for so long? Example

5. And most important cus i really dont see a point to write much else (i could write a book, no joke, and i sorta did cus i wrote few months ago a google document which would.. literally almost fix all core issues with rev). So..
What the deal with energy system? Why revenant players are getting double punishment? You have raised weapon cd’s to the point where they are on par/higher compared to other classes. Lets take look at this for example

So pvp wise both are on 6sec cd. Electro hits harder, has reflect, doesnt split damage on targets, cannot be deflected/reflected, 6cd and.. no energy cost. Moe utility, more damage. Being honest scrapper hammer is a improved sword/sword revenant.
But going to the point. Everything cost energy, so much in some cases its ridiculous. With pretty much all weapon skills having it cd’s raised you havent removed energy cost from them acting as double punishment to rev compared to all other classes.
The original philosophy was shorter cd’s than other classes on weapon skills+energy cost. Now that due all the nerfs it no longer apply why our skills still consume energy? Imagine warrior being having to bother with cooldown on skills+using adrenaline to fire off skills.
But going futher – why utility skills have cd’s? The whole poin of rev energy system was to reserve thief mechanic. Low cd’s on weapon skills, 0 cd’s on utilities (apart from short on CC ones). At this point why we still have energy system in the place when its a completely failed mechanic cus in the end cds were slapped on everything i can think of.
You cant gateway this profession by both cd and energy. But if its fair in your opinion then i would like to ask: where are cd’s on thief weapon skills? They should happen already at this point. Nobody is enjoying getting spammed by 33333 or 55555 and such storng skills like staff 5 or shortbow 5 should definitely have cd. So please with next patch, consider making it equal. Either energy cost removed from revenant or cooldowns added to thief.

Somehow i think you missed my point. This one apply to pretty much all games. They havent added new skill/animation or whatever. All they did was changing values in sheets, nothing else whatsoever so please dont give me this crap when mobas balance the game every 2 weeks with one huge major for each new season. Youre not going to balance this game by any means at current pace. By the time you get a new build (without mentioning many possible builds) it will be year 5352 or so with current “balance” team. They havent even addressed major issues. GG another 3 months of waiting for nothing? And some people wonder why Anet revenue is so low and why gw2 is dying.

Smite has a broken matchmaking system and balancing issues of their own with over half of their Deity roster. Rat is labeled Easy for a reason and is a popular pick in the SPL because he’s not hard to play. He also was nerfed under ground, reworked, then nerfed again. Besides, if it’s much more fun what are you even doing here? This isn’t the Smite forums.
Im not really here to promote anything but while mmr sux balls most of the time, it definitely doesnt have as many balance issues as gw. Apart from few gods i would rate the balance to be quite decent actually. Labels means nothing, Rata is easy to play, hard to master. Theres a reason why i have close to 4.0 kda (2.5 kd) with him in ranked while most is at 1.2 to 1 kd. Rata is popular due to his global ult which is main reason why you want to pick him.
And im here for entertainment. Its fun to see such ridiculous “balance” changes from 3 perspectice when you dont even care anymore. Im not mad, im crying thats how funny these notes are. Its taking them what.. 3-4 months per balance patch and this is all they got? Its technically speaking easier profession in game to balance due to limited package kits. How long players like me are supposed to w8 to actually see Jalis and core rev viable, without any issues, without kittened split damage on sword etc? In season 66436? Classes who needed a nerf got buffed. Rev who is right now worst profession in game got a middle finger. I am honestly starting to consider rev as a scam from Anet to grab money. They created lots of issues with their “balance” such as PS and they are not willing to fix it to this day.

I wish they would do more mechanical changes to skills instead of just changing damage numbers and healing power scaling. Look at some of the lesser used weapons for example. They are not necessary bad dps weapons, but have zero utility, synergy or have a hard time actually hitting your enemy.

They should replace horrible skills with new ones if they cant balance them. Look at phys utility skills for warrior as example.. Its obvious they will never be good anyway so why keep em ingame? Delete them and replace with new shiny stuff.

I am a minority because half of WvW OG guilds and players quit game. / game mode because Anet killed hammer train meta. People are posting daily about the condition meta being horrible or the boon duration meta that existed before this. There were problems with hammer trains but it was far more balanced than current metas that are happened in WvW right now. You can’t speak of what sucks and what doesn’t by looking at forums. Forums is only 2% of the game.
Hammer 3 can do 5k to 8k with ease.. hammer 5 is 5k with ease hammer 4 is in built blocks projectiles and its a leech field. Hammer 1 easily hits 3k+ and CoR lol its easy 8k+ easy. Hammer isn’t that slow the only slow skills are hammer 5 and 3 but hey hammer 5 is an cc and the link of warding also the ring of warding are slow and they don’t do damage so your point? and they don’t have 1200 range lol… Guy go home, revenant hammers are broken.
Also you can’t really tell what WvW group comp runs by following a pug blob. Join a guild and each one of them runs at least 3+ revenants. Youtube current GvGs and if you don’t see 3+ revs lmk.
Many wvw players left due to new ridiculous desert borders. Also people been complaining since.. forever about any meta. Some consider cele meta to be best one now and back 2 years ago it was considered the worst one. Go figure. Also if you havent noticed most wvw people are nothing but pug. I havent seen a organized 60+ guild.. like ever. At best they were in 30man, no more. Pug in wvw is the reality and stuff that matters, not organized guilds.
And back to hammer. Have you realized that dh bow 1 actually has higher dps than rev hammer 1? No cus you look only at “big numbers” ignoring cast and aftercast. Let me tell you total cast time of hammer 1 – thats 1.25sec. Given how long it takes it should hit much harder than it does right now, reaper gs suffer from the same issues.
Hammer 3 is literally the worst move in this game, 1.25sec self root, highly telegraphed with mediocre damage. Hammer 5 is in even worse state due to 2 sec cast time, you can literally wall out of radius before it hit. Hammer 4 is probably the only good thing about hammer but still its nothing special – and for whatever reason it has cast time which means i cant use it right away to block smth like killshot, i have to cast it first and enemy have easy time waiting it out.
And now best skill you complain about called CoR – at max range you can strafe it, no need to dodge whatsoever. It also only works on flat ground so move up to a hill or w/e and CoR becomes totally useless. Hammer is a ranged weapon which scales it damage the futher the target is with 0 kiting tools, slow af and rather weak dps (id take ranger lb anyday over this junk).
I fail to see how hammer is broken when it is worst ranged weapon in gw actually. If you have so much issues with hammer revs then simply run over them, they have no answer to that, 0 def, full glass, cant run. They are literally free lootbags. But what do i know right? Nvm that nobody uses this weapon let it be spvp or pve for a very good reason. If it was so broken it would be meta in spvp dont you think? Its comes down to l2p issues.

Nerf to stab created pirate ship meta which made 25% of WvW population to drop because nobody liked the stab changes.

Btw PvErs there is another game mode called WvW and balance in WvW should matter more than it matters in PvE.
Funny how you even speak about pve to me when i am pvp focused player and in my eyes wvw is nothing else but a pve zerg with just one difference – in pve you fight mobs, in wvw you fight (in theory) players. Noneless both are focusing on zerking, who has bigger zerk aka bigger kitten wins. Much strategy, much wow. I never played in wvw zerking around (till HOT) and all i was doing was solo roaming.
So i do not hate hammer train cus i never experienced it, never played against it but i remember 349428428 posts daily on wvw section about it being a “horrible meta” so if you enjoyed it you are in minority here. You also not realizing how slow hammer is, how many bugs it has and that theres literally nothing else on it apart from spamming CoR by full glass rev which you can one shot back.
And ele is pushed out of meta by them? Like what? Lets compare the amount of revs to ele in this picture. Yeah, i totally see how eles are pushed out by revs kappa. I can hop in anytime in wvw and i will never encounter more than 5 revs in zergs. Its dead, overnerfed in every possible way class and you ask for even more nerfs to it.

BUT: PowerShiro was viable in season 2 – even slightly overpowered (I mained it this time). That’s all I wanted to point out.
Em.. im not really salty. I left in mid season 2 and facepalming on every patch notes when looking up at the changes to professions or to be more accurate lack of said changes cus come on. Balance patches are like um.. once per 3 months? Smite has more changes every 2 weeks. Due to limited rev desing he should be easier class to balance in this game and by now all legends should be viable cus their skills come in a package. 1 heal, 3utility (it should be 5 but mkay..), 1 elite. I honestly have no idea what issue they have there if they cant balance one legend per patch.

The funny thing about Rev is, that all the class needed after season 2 was the Sword2 und Staff5 nerf it got after season 4. If ANet would not have touched Shiro skills (energy costs, cooldowns and endurance gain), Power/Shiro would be in a very good spot. But now it is overnerfed.
Revenant is a good example for a clueless nerfing strategy. And unfortunately ANet usually does not revert nerfs but tries to fix the situation by buffing other things – what results in a complete mess.

Conditions should be nothing but debuffs (like boons are buffs), not a source of damage by any means. Once they realize it this game will become 10000x better.

Ever played any other game, basically? Plenty have damage-over-time effects and they work fine. Only… their devs don’t try to make them glorified DD-skills.
Yeah, plenty and i dont recall any of em having so stupid mechanic like gw has. Some have “dot” effect skills but you know difference between them and gw conditions? These dot effect are treated like a normal attacks which ofc deals delayed over time damage but they arent associated with some weird kitten like condition damage, they dont ignore armor, you cant raise/lower their duration and they dont bring extra utility.
For example imagine backstab dealing all of it current damage over next 3sec rather than doing one big spike. It would still get reduced by toughness, -% traits, protections and be based on power damage not some weido condi dmg. Thats how it worked in my all my games i played (and i played games for well over 15 years). You couldnt cleanse it but they wouldnt tick for ridiculous amount of damage either and its very very rare for them to have additional effect. See the desing flaw now?

Conditions are a viable source of damage, Orpheal. The sooner you and everyone else accept this truth, the happier you’ll be.
The problem is that condi damage is separate from power damage. Which of the two you use could be a valid part of class design. If done properly instead of randomly thrown at the game like we have it right now.
In fact, conditions as a whole are by far the weirdest of any MMO I’ve played, and I started with early EQ1. There’s nothing done well about them. Sorry to be that harsh devs.

With the poor state of rev I am actually optimistic for the balance patch. ANet created a new, unfinished and buggy profession that required purchase of HoT then nerfed it out of the meta. At this point it can’t really get much worse
You would be surprised mate. Anet is creative in terms of beating a dead horse. Why do you think rev is in current state? They dont understand rev, they dont know what to do with him and they definitely dont know when to stop. They do random changes without looking at the bigger picture hoping for the best. You hope for a buffs? Ahaha wot? Nerfnant needs nerf every patch, he needs to remain his unique status. A patch without nerfnant getting a nerf is not a balance patch.
I just hope that the alarming rework of Momentary Pacification trait was a late April Fool’s joke from the Balance Team and does not preview the quality of changes. Because it was honestly the worst rework of a talent or trait I’ve seen in any MMO for a very long time.
They had so many ideas from you.. me, from other forumers. Bunch that actually made sense and would make the trait viable. In the end they went for their own kitten as usual and.. we all see how it ended. Gw2 is dying and thats mostly due to the “balance” team which we had to deal up with for over 4 years already. Hopefully their recent low revenue will be a waking up call at Anet and they do something to address this “issue” with said balance team unless they want this game to die. Their choice really.

Not everyone want to sit on ts with random kids on team and not everyone can speak english properly either. VGS fit it purpose well, ofc its not that good as voice comm (for obvious reasons) but it does it job well and improves communication a lot.

That would be for me the most optimal solution and it would improve without any doubt solo/duo Q. Its clear that best communication is via voicechat, but Im only talking of soloQ and the majority are solo players.
I think ppl voted for solo/duo Q, because it is much more unfair to play as a solo vs a full team and I know when the forums where full of crying which contained “thats unfair, pls change that!”. Plus the reduced q times makes it for me a good choice to tested solo/duo Q this season. Now its up to anet if they really want to rebuild the pvp system, the next step would be adding several modes like 5v5 for guild teams, 1v1 and 2v2. If anet is thinking in this direction I think the pvp scene will grow very fast and maybe more tournaments are incoming thus. The game mode solo/duo Q is fine as it is and I hope season 6 will continue in the same direction.
Smite ranked cq is solo/duo, if you want to play with whole 5 man team then you have to go casual (aka unranked for gw). 5vSoloQ ranked is just ridiculous and i dont know why it wasnt solo/duo q from the start.

Even though I remain hopeful it does not look like it. Esport players were fun to watch and showed us what this game is truly capable of. A lot of people try and bring down the esport community and events which is sad because many of them get kitten just how much better those players are then the rest of us. I say who cares? not all of us are cut out to be that good but those events are fun to watch.
Any half decent player left gw already. Even Helseth went to Smite (i left gw mid 2 season for it and now im in master rank there) cause gw is hopeless. Theres nothing special in so said “pro” league games and i will be surprised if they continue supporting it. What gw and community in general gains from this? Nothing at all. Devs failed to balance the game and they have no intention to even balance it based on manifesto and patchs history so why bother.. its a casual pve game anyway.

We had lots of pve raid balance changes in case if you havent noticed yet. For example primal burst lb burn stacking. It didnt cause any issues in pvp. Also warrior is op af yet braindead in pvp as far im aware from a friend who still punish himself and plays gw cus hes a masochist. Rev sword 1 was nerfed cause devs didnt like rev 1 “rotation” for best dps and gave us new broken PS that only hinder rev and sword in general and previously it was only used for utility (chill, range). In the end we still rev still has to smash 1 cus everything else is dps loss so prepare for yet another auto nerf. Its nerfnant after all.
Moreover staff ele was nerfed for solo pve reason, icebow was nerfed for sole pve reason etc. Im really not going to list all the changes due to pve here so just please, stop spreading bs.

Let’s be honest here, pretty much every nerf to rev has been PvP motivated since they don’t bother to split balance changes except for a few rare cases.
sPvP has been the greatest single source of classes getting wrecked.
The hammer nerfs and facet of nature were primarily wvw focused nerfs.
And the autoattack DPS, unrelenting assault nerf, staff and phase traversal nerfs, and offhand shield nerfs have all been the result of spvp.
WvW is PvP, btw. Just even more broken since stats are not even capped and consumables are usable.
Auto nerf was pve focused cus “we dont like rev to be autobased in pve”.. and yet here we are, rev is mashing 1 like no tomorrow with no other option whatsoever. Another great example of dev logic. Its get even more ridiculous due to the fact they boosted thief autos by a ridiculous amount cus they want em to keep ini for utility.. LIKE HELLO REV HAS “INI” TOO

This is not even about rev viability, i really dont care much. The problem for me are flaws in rev desing. Nothing matches well. Beta/release rev was a completely different class, it wasnt perfect but at least it made more sense. Theres a good reason why we have energy system which was supposed to replace cds on our utility skills like ini for thief wep skills.
We cant really gain energy outside of legend swap which makes it clunky in general. Back when rev was announced i had hope i would be able to camp legend which suits me better in x sitatuion like devs descripted it to be instead of being forced to dance between them to gain energy.
And then theres also something like sword that makes no sense whatsoever. Sword aa scales up so it becomes better the moment more enemies show up, sword 2 and 3 do the opposite – they become much weaker to the point of being completely worthless. Theres no synergy whatsoever and thats just a one example. Being honest rev should be scrapped from this game in current state, reworked and brought back with no wep swap like he originally supposed to be. Rev will be either OP or UP and theres no way to balance that in current state.

If they learned from thief then why they still dont have cd’s? Rev utility were supposed to be without cc safe for powerful ones like Jade Winds. Wep skills cost energy cus they were supposed to have low cds (look mace cds, the olny not nerfed weapon yet). They slapped cds on almost everything by now, nerfed skills and raised their cds at the same time. Why that didnt happen to thief at this point?

There are only 3 utilities per legend because you have access to twice the number of heals/utilities/elites at any given time, so that also doesn’t have anything to do with Rev being “unfinished”.
Huh? Rev has lower number of utilities ingame and i fail to see how is that “fine”. Yes, rev can swap between utility skills in combat at the cost of not having a real class mechanic. Count number of skills and see for yourself, starting with mesmer – 5wep skills, 5 utility skills, 5 f skills. 20 skills total.
And hello darkness my old friend. Lots of classes have lower/on par cds skills with far more powerful effects like engi hammer. Energy cost needs to be gone or wep skills need massive buffs otherwise cus they took low cd’s away from them.

I never thought i would see rev as gathering bot in my life.
Rev is high risk low reward. Its unfinished cause he has tons of bugs, lots of horrible/poor traits and desing choices in general. Due to ridiculous “balance” from Anet one class can be broken in 1 patch and be useless in next one.
If you like playing rev despite mentioned flaws feel free to make one. If i was to return to gw i wouldnt play rev personally, its been a year and anet still havent fixed major bugs and core issues with rev like lack of ranged condi wep or torment being kitten in pve. Dont even get me started on Jalis. Better go for guardian, they always been solid.

^ Every Necro’s staff skill has up to 5 targets at 1200 range in the same 240 radius with a 3/4s cast, and chances are that most of players won’t see the small animation from the arm every time they attack. So no, that hugely telegraphed attack with a 1.3/4s cast doesn’t seems to me the cream in zerg fishing.
Necro doesn’t put a damage packet of 20k+ in 3sec every 15sec. And ya no one ever sees a pile of marks on the ground but they always see a translucent grey hammer that doesn’t put down a red circle. I’m telling you that I’ve hit every walk of life with drop the hammer just by how I use it. I imagine its the same with necro marks, you don’t just lay a pile randomly and hope they step on them.
Hammer is a trash and being honest rev has no place in wvw due to lack of stability and condi removal. Hes nothing else but CoR bot and even then there are better options. Id pick up staff ele over hammer rev anyday anytime. Ridiculous aoe damage, support (waterfields, group condi removal). Literally everything. You only kitten yourself by equipping hammer. Its a weapon that needs overhaul.
Nobody would want skills from hammer and its clear as day that rev right now is at huge imbalance due to energy cost when comparing skills to other classes like mentioned engi. Scrapper hammer is like a improved s/s for rev, literally the only thing sword does better is evade frame for whole duration in UA while engi can be hit between leaps but at what cost? Split damage, buggy, breaks on stealth, trigger confusion 7 times, goes on full cd when interrupted (easy to do cus 0 stab), worse single target damage (1212 base+3.0 vs 1045+2,85) and 15 energy cost.
Now someone explain me how energy cost is justiced on wep skills? Its not.

Frankly, Condi Rev in solo PVE is not too inspiring, the nature of torment ensures that. The only real bonus is the frequency you can apply conditions and the resistance spam you can achieve. I think it would be better to put Mace #2 on auto attack … it’s almost spammable and much better damage.
I found with teams, it’s a little better if you aren’t aggroed by the mob you fight. Doubling your spammable torment damage and sticking to your moving target works, but it’s more conditional than I would prefer.
Now, if we just had torment on hammer in some way.
Or just make mace 2 an auto in a circle and make current aa ranged one for 2 like spear. Burning at melee range, torment at long range. Mace improved by 459849964396839683% and problem with long range wep solved a bit as well.

Revert all nerfs. Remove weapon swap and work from there. Cause srsly wep swap was not needed, it didnt solve any issue, quite the opposite – it caused many issues.

do remember that taking a new elite would mean dropping the old elite’s mechanic.
Give me one reason why any mes would drop current Chronos line with it broken desing. To make them drop it you need to make even more broken thing. Elites are nothing but powercreep, they wont be balanced around each other.
