I loved masteries since first day.. what you have to do to learn new language? Kill dinos, mordrem etc. Now i will be controversial so dont read this thing in spoiler
Based on this logic i should learn languages in real life by killing too
Now to those that have read it..yes its olny a game but it doesnt make much sense still right? We should search for books and such to slowly learn language, to improve gliding you should glide etc but instead we got masteries in a grind way..farm farm like mad to unlock them. Its a joke if you ask me. If anything masteries are a lazy way to lock progress in this ls3 to let people think that theres a lot to do..but there inst. Its a half finished rushed product and it has no rights to be called expansion. At best it can be called dlc.

- Hammer
-Skill 2 bugs a lot on uneven terrain, even small stone prevents it from landing a hit and stops the animation. Doesnt hit at max distance as animation indicates. It also sometimes aim in totally different direction from target (will make a vid later).
-Skill 3 miss on uneven terrain. Pressing wep swap cancels the animation
-Skill 5 when interupted let it be by ourself or enemy goes on full cd and consumes energy before the skill take effect. Animation playing 2 times…
Warriors had similar issue since launch. Highly doubt this will be fixed.
Ruins? Maybe. It depends.
Phase smash? It can be fixed witohut any issues, tell you how? Right now you jump into air instead of following ground like other leaps let it be swoop, rush, rtl. The jump in the air is a reason why it doesnt work on uneven terrain. Changing that would fix this skill.
Everything can be fixed if want to. Notice that phase smash generally doesnt have many issues hitting target above you, but it has issues hitting under you. Rebember? Jump in the air during animation.
Now that i think about CoR it also can be fixed. But most likely it would change this skill a bit. But hey, its not really my problem, is it? If “professional” devs aims for esport they cannot let bugs be deciding factors in their games. Imagine that rage it one kill would be a decision between win and lose in competive game, youre there..aiming..miss..due to game bug. Time over, enemy team won due to game bug..Oh yeah i can imagine that already.

1. Why skills 1-5 costs energy and have cooldowns? If i have no energy i cant use my basic skils this i think nerf for that class. Let them have cooldowns or only energy cost.
Tbh i have to disagree with you. Our weapon skill cd’s arent short at all in many cases. Shield and staff actually has huge cd’s, sword offhand cd’s are not different by any means from warrior and so basically any other offhand skills we have -mace and torch.
Sword 3 has the same cd as every other move similiar to it like blurred frenzy. Where we could say that we have low cd’s are skills on 2 but most of them are quite useless except hammer. So no, i cannot really agree on the short cds.
Hammer 2. Cooldown really should be 4 or 5 seconds.

This. I really hope you are wrong. Really wrong. I’m enjoying revenant, lore, possibilities, gameplay. But being struck in shiro/glint become a little annoying. Revenant has the less number of abilities than all classes(i’m perfectly fine with the number of skills) and they can"t even make them work? Come on! I really hope you’re wrong and they are going to make something. Or i think i will go out of the game for a while, coz actually i don’t enjoy any class like rev, and if it’s just an half class for long time, it don’t make sense playing too much to the game.
Im pretty sure there will be minor changes at best. Fact is out of 12 base (16 if we count elites) utility skills, olny 4 to be viable and 3 semi viable and that is;
Banish – its really good for boon stripping howered i think it should corrupt boons.
Anguish – working for both condi and power builds. Good pressure on a node
Riposting shadows – obviously our best skill in rev kitten nal
Impossible odds – decent.
Jade winds – huge cost for little reward. Its easy to dodge, even if you fail you can still stunbreak it which is not a problem for anyone, even necros. Its not even unblockable which is a joke honestly given it has 1 sec casttime. Its a button i rarely try to use outside of pve as its just better to spend energy for impossible odds or anything else really. We dont have many cc, in fact we dont really have any to bait out stunbreaks and thats makes jade winds not really viable on solo settings. If you have someone to bait stunbreaks tho then its the time where it shine. So semi-viable
Phase traversal – this skill fail often. It wasnt really a problem before cd as you could cast it second time and it would work from basically the same position you used before where it didnt worked. You know the problem why it doesnt work majority of the time? Animation. Its the olny teleport in game with casttime and that animation is the reason why it fail so often. Its easy to test with other teleports in game where PT fails but JI does not.
Not olny that, animation is also a reason why it drains energy and goes on cd. Other teleports tend to pop up message “not valid path” if they dont have casttime. Meanwhile PT pop up some bs like out of range. It cannot be used right after without going on cd and consuming energy as the animation itself finished. Thats how programmed it is. I basically stopped using that skill as its terrible in current state and not really needed cus people close the gap to me cus i use hammer. Reason now why i use Shiro is a) riposting shadows b) while Shiro heal sux, everything else we have is terrible. Its semi viable but in my book howered..not really anymore, not as long the animaiton is there.
Pain absord – spam resistance man, spam. Sadly it transfer one condi form your friend to yourself as it was left in the state of Mallyx when it actually made sense. Now it doesnt anymore. Its also quite funny that this ability is not stunbreak yet despite suggestion to make it a stunbreak since bwe1. Semi viable if you fight vs condi build, useless for everything else.
Baseline revenant is a joke that might as well not exits. Meanwhile we dont really need much to make him viable.
Question..why Ventari radius is so tiny? Why it has delayed healing? Why its has cd’s and is so clunky? Unrewarding? Some tweaks and it would be really good legend. It goes also to Jalis and Mallyx.
Mallyx for example was far from being totally viable before the “rework” but it was in much better state than now. Bringing it back to previous state with some buff to elite, stunbreak on pain and boon corruption from banish is all thats we need to make it viable. So little is needed yet so many months of waiting for nothing just bc devs want to shake meta every league instead of promoting build diversity. Thats really a joke and i cant beleive they aiming for esport with such attitude. I doubt anything will change anytime soon.
Is also quite funny that condi oriented legend works better in.. power build! Thats speaking everything about this game and balance made by devs.

I gave up on this joke event few days ago and wont step there ever again till i wont see nerfs in patch notes. Its one big joke, and on top of that last colelciton item is need is locked behind that. Srsly please give me priv instance scaled for one player, move colelction item to any other event or nerf this junk.
I tried shiro/mallyx on both marauder and celestial and it was really fun, however I felt extremely vulnerable to focus fire and CC while in mallyx.
I too am bored with the badness of the non-overused legends so I probably won’t play the class much until it gets fixed.
You probably will w8 for a while. We had time for buffing few months but nothing was done. As long theres one viable build they dont give a kitten about rest, thats how it been with every class so far. And cause Roy is a fan of Shiro/Glint and even said hes fine with rev in current position.. yeah it wont happen anytime soon. Its better to look for another game really.

Sadly this trait working as intended. One effect overwrites another one which is kinda funny as it doesnt work with Ventari at all. I bielieve the daze effect should be delayed by 3seconds once youre done casting elite. But then again that may be a bit confusing.. would be better to just delete it.

I know how desynced look and how it work. And explain me now.
When someone is desynced i cant cleave him in the place wheres hes supposed to be. If my ally is desynced i cant rez him too. In this situation howered my sotmp doesnt way to go off no matter what, yet i can cleave him in the spot where he is and ally can rez him there too. Its not desync in this case. Desync wont let me cleave him nor ally rez him.
Not super familiar with damage scaling on the rev yet, so i’ll ask you.. How well does Mallyx work in Zerker gear? I figured something like sinister would benefit the heavy condi application of the stance, but if I can keep my zerker gear on and perform comfortably then I will probably give this a shot!
Banish is weak as it generally boonstrip/condi utility, elite is completely useless for both condi and power builds. Leap work well with both. Leap is basically a necro well without cd. When i played with it it was ticking for 970dmg/s crits on a marauder guard and ~760 on cele scrapper. It also procs life siphon from devastation gm and chills nicely. People move out of node as sword auto with combination of the field really does great pressure. I suggest to give it a try on golems and see yourself and compare it with impossible odds.

If they fix bugs, take a look into scaling aka too much hp then it will be fine. This event often fail due to lack of dps. Its a miracle if you get it down with pug to 30% hp.
Tbh at some point i wish for it to be the olny way to access DS map. People would start to bother at this point
And at that point, people won’t bother to access the map, as that is one massive gate blocking progress to the DS map.
I’m already at the point of not even exploring Auric Basin, as too many points are contested or paths blocked by barriers that I can’t get around (can’t even look at map most of the time as mobs attacking). I’m not really a fan of vertical maps, especially when missing some object half way down somewhere means I can’t go anywhere and have to port back to any waypoint that isn’t contested and then run half the map all over again just to get back to where I was. To me, it isn’t fun.
Then again, having to grind out exp to level up masteries to be able to do stuff in each map isn’t fun to me either- if only they hadn’t gated the exp in to three separate mastery lines I’d be able to play where I wanted instead of being forced to play in an area I don’t like in order to grind out a mastery required for the map..
Well the question is why they even opening entrance to DS? Please someone link them wp as they are probably unaware of it.
It applies burn in 360radius around revenant. Ventari knock over 450 range so yep.
Easy to test at Svanir in lobby when you force knock him to wall.

Shared Empowerment.
The trait in itself isn’t bugged, but its interaction with your facets is.
The trait has a 1sec cd and you can have multiple Facets active. However all the facets pulse at the same time no matter when you actually activate the facets. As such they all pulsate at the same second, which leads to Shared Empowerment only activating once every 3 seconds.Now if your facets would be able to pulse at seperate times from eachother then the trait would likely work right (I haven’t tried this as it’s hard to try by applying boons between the 3sec interval and also keeping an eye on the might stacks) the trait could be too strong but then it could just get a 3sec cd so it doesn’t feel off. It might also be somewhat hard to activate the facets at the right times to get the max out of the trait that way.

-Slow without traveler runes due to 0 access to swiftness
-No defensive tools as protection, you have to rely purely on yourself to keep yourself alive
-Easy to stunlock in Mallyx, gotta live with it till they dont do proper buffing
-Easy to burst down in a teamfight
+Good utility – boon strip, chill (leap can do 5k for it whole duration, no joke)
+Decent vs condi builds (except necros due to fear which obviously you cant stunbreak..)
+Good healing abilities which doesnt rely on opponent mistake unlike Glint
+Insane damage if you manage to get quite a bit condi on yourself
+Way more fun than Glint boonbot.
Imho worth giving it a try as alternative, just watch out for heavy cc builds.

Alternative would be to dish out retribution for invocation but versed in stone can sometimes really save your kitten if you just swapped to Mallyx.

That class is so broken atm that im not sure how it even made it live. Fewer utility skills opposed to core classes and they all sux (2 legend out of 5..rl?), many trash traits, tons of bugs and so on. Most likely we will have to live with it 3 years like engi.
Its been a while since xpac launch already and none of our bugs from bw1 was fixed to this day. Im not sure what i am supposed to think about this situation, even more so when they nerfed rev after launch few days later for no reason

This event will see more successful runs on average when the population learns what it needs to do and how to contribute. The same thing happened with Tarir. In the beginning there were very little people which knew how to properly contribute, a lot of them were wasting armors etc. But in the last couple of days it is almost impossible to fail the event if there is enough people on the map and I’ve seen more and more people which know what to do.
So, just give it time.
You know these two came out in same time right? VB, AB, DS. THey all getting beated and raided all day long. 3 out of maps. Are you trying to tell me TD is so hard that people doesnt know what to do by now? Keeping in mind DS that is supposed to be endgame map theres something going on.
Everything is op except the class that people mains.

So the DPS-check here isn’t so tight at.
Also a note on the currently rising to be popular “no-stun” meta fashion.
I’ve seen Gerent go almost down on end of phase two no matter whether he was all-stunned or not stunned at all.
In fact both work just as well there is no benefit except for making the fight work a bit more the one or the other way matching your groups individual preference.The “no-stun” fashion is simply the result of organizing strategist still being
so used to mindlessly searching for “break boss mechanics” strategies that were so prevalently en-vogue on previous old content.
And yes triple trouble whose head decap part actually is a mindless zerker-gear-dps check has also done its part in numbing everying into thinking inside the box still.Let’s see if raids can shake this up, at least i hope. At least I would not see the point in making just another game go the mind-numbing “deeps deeps deeps-check” route instead of the “more interesting challenge” route. But that is to be judged when it comes out.
And Chak Gerent is an interesting piece to see as it is hard yet does NOT check for super dps up to the last second.If your guild has beaten it several time then please invite me because I need to do this urgently, I have already done it more than 20 times and it’s getting old. Ah btw. if UA is so stronk, why none of you complaining about auto which can do far higher damage? Ua can also be interrupted and it damage is just 10% higher than aa without quickness. Just something to keep in mind. Pulling off something else as revenant is basically impossible. UA is basically the olny thing you have to dodge.
Now lets look at dh..dodge true shot, dodge f1, dodge traps, dodge whirl
Ranger standart pewpew dodge rapid fire (or hope to be able and hide behind something), entangle, pets (2sec taunt on 15cd without a tell, cool story dude), point blank, maul, hilt bash
Shatter mesmer – dodge mirrow, dodge phanta from gs, dodge shatter, dodge ileap
And so on. so i will ask again..what else you have to dodge from rev in comprasion? Reastically speaking nothing. Call it a bad desing or something but with ua nerfed you will have to recompensate rev and you may be screaming even harder when we get more stuff like everyone else that you have to dodge. And from far i noticed ua is not really a problem for most people in game let it be 1v1 (dueling servers) or soloq unless someone is really terrible.
If someone wants to get in some real troubles i suggest to look for a good scrapper and tell me herald is stronger. Herald, not rev cus rev is trash tier.
4. How to beat UA. Retaliation works wonders, as does blocks, and a simple double dodge will make nearly all a revenants damage go bye bye. You then have 12 seconds to take them down, watch for there heal, lay off for 3 seconds and finish them.
Whenever someone tells you to double-dodge an attack that has a 12 sec cooldown you know he’s full of …
How you dodge rapid fire in open field? And what else you really have to dodge from revenant?
CoR need to be toned down. Other classes hammer skills do not have not even close dmg as CoR (hammer 2#) plus its CD is 2 sec….need to be increased cd to 4 sec.
UA needs to be toned down to 3 attacks…and bring cd down to 10 sec.

And dh traps removed from the game, virtue of courage change revert back to block projectiles olny, unblockable pull from f1 removed and true shot nerfed in damage by 30%
= balance
I wonder how terrible one has to be to defend this cheese called dh and telling everyone else to l2p while asking to nerf everyone else.
Without going much into blabla bc blabla i will just post my list about a few traits;
-Fericious strikes and vicious lacerations doesnt make any sense to be in the same tier. Either remove one of these, merge them and make a spot for a new trait;
Assassin speed – increase movement speed by 25%. We need it badly for base revenant.
-Malicious replisal.
30cd for 2 unblockable attacks with 5sec time limit which can trigger on random aegis? Thats pretty much useless. If it were triggering unblockable attacks for 5sec when you strike a foe under 50%..thats something i would actually consider as an option.
-Jade echo.
Not really too much issues with it except too high cd. Reducing it to 60 would make a lot more sense and possibly add extra effect where we dont lose hp in downed state.
-Nefarious momentun.
Whats the point of might honestly? Baseline revenant lack access to fury, and thats what it should give. Fury. 4seconds of fury on legendary assasin stance skill usage would be far more useful than the might. Our ways to gain fury in baseline rev are too limited.
-Dismantle fortification.
Okay this one is completely useless and not gm worthy by any means. Think it would be actually much better if it bypass stability completely. And before you say that would be op – we dont really have much access to cc, do we? Yeah i thought so.
-Improved aggression
So hmm..may be somewhat useful in pve if you run Jalis (you shoulndt in current state..) for breaking bars. Other than that? Completely useless. Basically theres no choice for retribution adept. Close quarters all the way. Meanwhile we struggle hard with immobilizes, chill and cripple. Mostly immobilize.
Enraging Charge – Immobilize/chill/cripple reduced by 33%. Gain 200 toughness under one of these effects
-Unwavering avoidance (minor)
Increase stability duration by 1 second. Make it activate at the start of dodge, not after a dodge.
-Eye for the eye
Please bring our protection on cc back. Cd for it is too high and should be reduced to 30s.
-Retaliatory evasion+empowering vengeance
Increase retal from dodge to 3 seconds and merge these traits together.
-Light of Deldrimor (new gm)
Striking stealthed foe reveals them. 5sec reveal/20cd
-Steadfast rejuveration
Taking a lethal blow heals you instead. 5k hp, 45cd
Before someone come in and say its op..try to play berserker with alive or dead trait. That trait never really saved me, just gave me few seconds before i died for real.
-Fierce infusion
Cd reduced to 10sec
-Equilibrium
Healing part removed. Never made much sense, never will. With helaing removed it would be a decent effect for extra pressure or just to cure..blind
-Invigorating flow

Low quality spec, low quality items tied to it. Working as intended
Dindt testes that stuff yet but theres one interesing thing i found. If used on ally shield can provide 4sec protection to them, yet it olny provides 2 seconds to us? Im not sure if its trolling or what but from what i understand if it affects allies both way then it should do the same for us when we use it on yourself. Would someone consider it as a bug or intended?

Sword and shield offhand fill a role. This role is not damage. They fill the role decent enough to not need changing. You can accept that, or keep moaning. I personally really don’t care.
And you still make absolutely no sense. Nobody will carry sword offhand in pve for other than aesthetics reasons. Axe does more and has a pull as well (group, not single target pulling you away from the boss), shield provides small group support, block and healing. Sword offhand is dead. Also either way who the f cares about pve here when op talks form pvp perspective? People these days..either way im done with you.
Anything with strong cc or conditions will be lethal. We have very limited/situational access to stunbreks/balance/cleasing.
Take a look in Youtube at the ESL Go4GW2 #52 25th Oct; in the last two matches (55 Rank Dragons vs Orange Logo) the Revenant/s were unable to compete.
Thats why i trained for double stab on dodge. Dealing with cc in Shiro is not a big of a deal, but once you switch to something else its game over. The shield trait is overated as it dont even activate under cc. Dwarf was supposed to be the resistant hard to put down guy but in current state hes poorer than Glint which wasnt even made for tanking but more like all around legend. Hope my suggestions will be impleted.
Mallyx on the other hand has possibility to work for power builds except obviously no stunbreak part and going for some weird stuff like corruption/retri/herald is too much of a dps loss.
Imo the olny thing that deserver nerfs is scrappy, dh and maybe druids. Reaper is fine in current state and they are still easy to cc as always when they leave shroud. Complaining about reaper is l2p issue honestly. Its really not as kittenome people trying to make it out to be.
Theres a lot of broken tuff. Try revenant chest which is dyed different to rest on medium shaders. Weapons also clip with mistward set as they are not adjusted and so on.. Half-kitten work.

I always felt Sword 5 should be a 600 range shadowstep to a enemy, then you shadowstep back and pull the enemy to where you are. It allows one to control where exactly they want their target to be and deal with the issue of range.
The fun fact is that actually how it worked from datamined stuff. Not just that but for example staff had taunt, cripple and retal on it along with fury on aa as opposed to these useless heal orbs, shield 4 removed condition etc.

Well this “xpac” and to be precisely dlc aka bxoed ls3 is really really small and feels like nothing else but a ripoff. The amount of added skins with launch is laughable. So is the contest and so on for the price tag.
Theres no doubt that it has way too low cd/too high hp for what it does. It takes few seconds before it goes down and while you focus it engi has free time to smash your face with pry tool or w/e else they hide at that time. The combination of sustain, stab and direct+condi damage is imo over the top. Basically dd ele 2.0 stab&stealth edition.

Except it even attack some invisible objects with no hp. Try on walls in wvw, enemy sentries near medkit or hammer in skyhammer. Its hilarious to waste so much dps. I found myself to casting it less and less as often its just a waste of energy. If it wont break for literally no reason then it hit some random stuff. Its simply broken.
tbh sword is in a great spot, now with the change to the auto attack even more.
you can’t compare offhand sword, axe and shield at all because they all fill different roles.
axe is a fast offhand with a teleport, designed for use when you don’t slot shiro.
offhand sword is a defensive dps weapon to pull people out of a crowd, isolate and kill them.
shield is a sustain offhand weapon and offers no damage at all but only support/defense.

Not every offhand needs to be high damage numbers. Sword offhand has a place, and it fills this place nicely. The fact that we can x/sword and x/shield for block rotations alone is amazing.
Sword mainhand is borderline broken(aka very good) as far as usefulness goes. Stop trying to make arenanet focus on stuff that is already good. The only thing that can come from this is nerfs.

My bad, I thought we were considering them in view of the revenant entire class. You know the one with superb survival, excelent movement, lots of utility.
Being able to have 2 offhand skills for block (sword and shield) ON TOP of everything else the revenent has is borderline broken. But sure, keep looking at the skills in their own little universe. Meanwhile, the rest of the disscussion will eal with balance to the class.

Pain absord gotta become insta stunbreak while blinding in aoe and get it cost reduced to 30.

Elite howered..if they decided to get rid of condi copy..i believe it should just pulse many conditions at once in short duration. Right now Mallyx lack any real condi pressure.
I rebember the days where i hoarded so many conditions in teamfights spreading them so fast that even 3 dd eles wasnt able to overcome it with cleansing..That felt good. At same time i had to keep up looking at resistance as it would end in insta rekt. I miss it so much..i was really interesed in condi builds back then for the first time.
