Yeah the nerf is seeming a little painful, you really have to jump into the kitten to make it worth it.
Have you been using zerk amu in matches, or just for duels? I saw some Apex guys using zerk and tried it a bit, but the loss of health hurts against the reaper/dh bomb on points

Both. I usually stay ranged vs dh and harass them with CoR unless i need to kill them fast then i trigger traps with hammer 3 and jump in with Glint heal prepared just in case to not lose hp. Reaper usually melts under sword aa with quickness. If they dont step back i can pretty much take most of their hp along with full ds during one quickness session. I run double stab on dodge and thats how i prevent any of their cc letting me go full offensive.

I will say base rev is pretty much unplayable tho, you can tell it was made with Herald in mind.

Yeah, base rev is a trash tier howered.. if Mallyx actually had a stunbreak i think a power Shiro/Mallyx would be amazing. I been doing quite well if not better with dev/corr/retri vs classes with low access to cc. People already learned Glint heal so i really start to question that jerk nerf that was made 4 days or so after release.. I mostly use it as invul/to heal from aoes now.

Curious about the answers and builds. I play sword/shield+hammer with Glint/Shiro obviously and zerk ammy (see sign)

I found good daredevils to be quite pain in the kitten to deal with as our healing skills are too situational. They can easily dodge anything you throw at them due to huge telegraphs and still remain slippery enough to avoid sword aa with immobilizes/teleports

Next on the list would be ranger..now it all depends on build but the condi ones are really tough to deal with. Druid inst dangerous but quite hard to take down without cc. If druid knows what hes doing the fight may take eternity.

Last one would be scrapper. The bad ones i can faceroll over but the good ones.. That sustain, stab, stealth in combination with high direct and condi damage is imo too much to deal with. Espesially condi.

Last one would be base condi necro.

Reading warrior forum i found 2 issues people complained about. First was lack of sustain – well thats obvious thing which plagued warrior since launch really unless you played shoutbot.

Second complain was why one would go for berserker line when strenght provides higher dps? They buffed dps in berserker and wars are like..we dindt asked for it..the hypocrisy is real.

Imo 50% dmg reduction during berserker mode is all that this elite spec really need to finally break out of stances.

Ps. gunflame needs animation.

As for stability – just like any dodge its supposed to take effect when you finish it. You dont see ranger proccing protection during dodge, but right as it finish and that apply to all classes. I know it sux but that how it is.

To be fair, that Ranger trait did originally proc at the beginning of the dodge, and people had to remind Anet of how silly that was. Hopefully Roy is still looking in here and will take notice of this.

You need to be able to move to start a dodge. You can’t dodge out of hard CC … what this would allow you to do is dodge through a wall our a trap that applies CC as you try and cross it. If the stability is added when the dodge starts we would be able to pass through the wall or trap and the stability would be consumed.

Soft cc – cripple/immo/chill
Cc – knockdowns, knockbacks, stuns, dazes, floating etc
Hard cc – lines of warding, slick shoes, dragon maw etc

Imo while hammer could use some tools to kite we have to rebember about 1 thing – hammer is allowed to be powerful just for the fact it actually doesnt have kite tools. A kiting tool has to come with damage nerf (loking at ruins) to keep it balanced. Thats something people missing. And honestly i cannot imagine playing hammer with longer cd on CoR. Let it be pve, wvw or pvp.

Fun fact is..i use traveler runes on my rev. At some point hoping for base rev to be viable (0 reliable access to swiftness/25% movement atm) and bc i found the little boon/condi dura to be far more useful than lets say..str rune.

In pvp swiftness also can be stripped and you need to waste energy to keep it up while i use it active ability off cd and i dont worry about boonstrips either.

Assuming i can land all 7 hits from UA i can sustain perma 25 might stacks on my own so..not sure if str rune is all that much needed.

Theres already one kittened gap closer/open on a ranged weapon and its druid staff. Ranged weapons arent supposed to be mobile. +i like wasting guardian traps with this ability. If it was a simple leap it would..hurt.

While I am very happy that I can now run around the rest of Tyria without having to turn my facets back on every few hundred meters; I was hoping for a bit more.

Like how several of our legends still don’t have underwater skills.

But I see all dev time has been (once again) spent on buffing Warrior; as usual.

Or you are just really stupid..and by that i mean pure stupid.. cause on the ladt year all warriors got is nerf after nerf after nerf..
Even the elite spec was pure garbage..
First competitive event after hot what spec was the only one NOT played at all?? Yep.. warrior..
There is just no so viable way to sacrifice a mandatory traits in order to play the new spec.. so dont even start..
If you are not stupid.. you are pretending to be…in that case… just dont…
Right now warrior is by far the clown face class.. there is one/ maybe two if so, build available for spvp / wvw…

Apparently I struck a nerve. However I will never forget how Warrior received buff upon buff every single patch while Ranger got nerf upon nerf; even though it was already at the bottom of the barrel. Heck, a full zerker Warrior with a healing signet and traits had more passive regen than a full healing power Guardian. And the ‘balance team’ was always quick with 25-50% kneejerk nerfs to other classes, but when it came to that Warrior signet they suddenly were all ‘careful tuning’ (7% LOL)

Warriors have no right to complain after 2 full years of being #1 easymode faceroll class.

Btw are you experienced problem when was stomping a revenant?

I am playing revenant and it happen with any class im trying to stomp at random times. I can try to stomp over and over without any result let it be warrior, engi, ranger or w/e. I do not use quickness as that thing is bugged as kitten when it comes to stomping. But now even normal ones fail.

Dwarf Stance - It needs a look over

  • New 25% passive speed increase trait on the Devastation specialization trait line.

That should be since day one in adept. Now we have 2 traits..one to give 2% dmg bonus per stack (up to 10) and another to give 150 fero for dual wielding.. for basically one weapon. Makes sense. Adept is also the olny thing out of devastation line that lack trait called “assassin X”

Honestly without herald revenant is trash tier. Not really much better than a warrior.

Jalis review

15h for spvp, 15h for wvw and 10 for pve in new maps (basically dropped Jalis as i unlocked Glint a bit).

  • Soothing stone – In pvp/wvw (frontline) often getting intterupted due to lack of stab. Pve wise heals for next to nothing but vengeful somewhat makes up for it (Shiro/Jalis has really poor sustain so you gotta play 3x harder than herald with shield and glint)
  • Ins reinf – useless in all 3 game modes.

Wvw is too mobile so youll be lucky to get 2 stacks of stab while following your zerg.
In spvp the point gets aoed so trying to stand in it is a suicide, its also useless for stomp as i been knocked off every single time i tried to stomp someone as road was still building up.
In pve mobs are too mobile as well to make any real use of it

  • Forced engagement – In wvw that thing is pointless and will be even with my suggestion due to it single target nature. In spvp i found it uses to intterupt someone stomp or apply slow to screw peoople over like revenants – by the time they performed UA ini animation i was usually out of range for them
  • Vengeful hammers

Wvw good for tagging assuming zerg doesnt have retal. It has no target limit so in a middle of a zerg it can result in insta rekt.

Spvp wise healing is far too low to make it somewhat useful, damage reduction too small to save anyone from a burst and on top of that mentioned retal. In fact i dindt used this a lot as it wasnt helpful at all

Pve wise – thats where it shine as long the terrain is flat. In a group of mobs healing is amazing and its also useful for mob tagging. Too bad earth inst flat so it often cancel itself.

  • Rite – as i said i dont really see any difference between rite and protection. Casting it always resulted in a wasted energy. I tried to use it as stunbreak ability and its laughable. Its diffucult to find enough energy to actually use it and when i actually managed to cast it i had to interrupt it and dodge incoming burst.

I tried to use it as “save me facetank tool” before the burst – sometimes i managed to do that but it dindt stopped anyone to take so much hp out of me that i was basically as good as dead (once a mesmer shattered me for 10k under rite.). Everything still hits hard, its really olny good vs autos and such. Pve wise its also just better to use vengeful hammers – they heal, they reduce a bit of damage and last for a while – over time they provide far better damage reduction than rite will ever do.

Rite is useful vs condi tho. Its really helping survive condi burst..assuming you wont get it interrupted.

The main problem i have atm with sword offhand is bugged block. I have animation up, progress bar up thinking i still block but nope. Nadanada. The “pull” is also awful and doesnt really make any sense.

Jalis review

So after playing about 40h with Jalis since launch here is my short review about him and i believe i finally got the right ideas to improve him. I really wish i could play Shiro/Jalis but in current state thats impossible, i feel really underpowered. Jalis deserves better.

  • Soothing stone

Should receive block like shelter. Baseline rev lack oh kitten buttons and i think its a good spot to give him some love here. As it stands now the cast is too long and the healing value too small compared to well timed Glint heal. One absord to heal, one would blocks to prevent incoming damage. Both rewarding in their own way.

  • Inspiring reinforcement

That road has to go. Its useless – applying stability far too slow and require you to sit in one place. Cant tell how often i was knocked off the road before the stab was applied to me. On top of that 10cd.. My rework is simple.

First off, remove cd. Make it a stunbreak ability. Instead of forcing us to stay in the road, get rid of it. Make it instead pulse stability for allies and weakness around revenant (240 radius). Both would pulse with 1sec duration. That alone will improve Jalis by A LOT.

  • Forced engagement

I like the taunt. Its helpful. But i like the slow effect even more. Nothing hurts dps as much as slow. The problem howered is that it miss a lot due to slow projectile and can be deflected/reflected. Its also body blocked often by clones/pets/minions. Unblockable would make it over the top so instead it should be changed a bit.

The chain itself shouldnt be a projectile anymore and instead it should become a projectile beam – like mesmer gs 1 or our Mallyx banish. The chain would come with 2 effects. First one is to apply pulsing slow. Second would be to taunt. How it would look in practice?

You release a chain, assuming you landed it you tether your foe to yourself in a similiar fashion to dh f1. While they are tethered you apply pulsing slow (1sec/1pulse) for 4sec duration overall (dh f1 burns). You get additional effect to use within 2 seconds of the chain which would be taunt – (dh f1 pulls). To prevent it from being op the cooldown will start counting down once the chain is broken. That means you can taunt right away to get your cd faster for another chain or keep it to pulse slow in which case the cd will be longer as it will start 4second later since the ability was casted (so 9cd)

  • Vengeful hammers

There is one problem..but in reality theres more than one. We all know it doesnt function at all near walls/uneven terrain etc. That can be fixed easily by not counting hammers as projectile. No big deal. Theres different problem tho – retal. You have some damage on them, you have some healing on them and you have your enemy with retal up that will wreck you – 700+ dmg/sec per foe just from hammers. Now you could say to not use my skill when foe has retal..fine. But thats prevents me from using my defensive skill. How can i gain dmg reduction when theres some guard with retal near me? I cant. If i try i will take more damage than i would reduce.

I think this skill should be reworked. Both hammers and rite wants to do the same thing – reduce damage. I think i am missing the point here but why we need 2 abilities that does nearly the same? Its the same story as with anguish leap and embrance the darkness. One superior to another one and both basically do the same.

I think this ability would make more sense to work in a similiar fashion to retal. Rather than upkeep ability we would cast effect on yourself with hammers being as visual indicator olny to reflect 10% of incoming damage back to it source. How it would look like;

Summon vengeful hammers to reflect incoming damage back to it source.
0.25 casttime
5sec duration
25 energy cost
Radius; 180
Damage reflected; 10%

  • Rite of the dwarf

Doesnt work as stunbreak ability due to awful casttime. Inst all that much better than protection either (i cant tell the difference at all). Cost too much and last too short. Meanwhile i always had feeling like it should be upkeep ability since the start. And thats what i would do. Make it self upkeep ability with -8 cost and 2 second casttime.

If not then at least energy should be reduced to 40 and duration increased to 7 seconds.

Just FYI unrelenting assault is a MINOR dps boost from autoattacking…only good thing is just the evade/follow…since we already had a 20% CD increase in BWE3 i do not see any more nerfs incoming.

Just bc it was nerfed once doesnt mean they cant nerf it again. Some stuff was released as fine and then got nerfed for basically no reason 4 days after release – glint heal, pt, shield 5.

People doesnt know but at some point precision strike was nerfed on launch – they nerfed damage by 34% for 150 range increase. The damage buff it had in bwe1 was taken away for literally no reason.

Reducing strikes means lower amount of evade frames. Smokescale got hit by 0.5sec. You can pretty much dodge it once to avoid all it damage now. It looks like a solution to these 1v1 crybabies and their “lack of counterplay” (which is bs as many players already adapted and doing fine). Howered damage loss would be a bit too much. At this point i hope it will actually track stealth opponents as well if it has to be nerfed.

Just bc they are trash doesnt mean they should be able to get away at will. And i never said that i have to run from thief, but unlike thieves i cant escape from 1vX yet our mobility skill got cd while the one that can be used to chase/escape do not. That makes little sense.

Shiro was supposed to be all about dps and mobility to chase his opponents and right now he doesnt fuction well at the chasing part. For me thats mean half broken legend.

Find me a direct quote where a developer has said that Legendary Assassin stance is about having mobility and chasing people.

The olny thing i wish for is facet of nature instacast. That 1/4 is clunky in combat. The rest is not an issue. Also maybe dont run this cheese shield trait? Double stab is far better

Thieves are kinda trash right now, the only way to kill a rev with a thief, is a really REAAALLY big skillcap between the 2. Only thing thieves can do right now, is escape (and thats again all prof).

You asking for them to not being able to run? that is you sucking and not being able to burst them fast. Like really, thieves tickle me in spvp. You saying you hate the fact that you cant run from a thief? why would you even run from them, thieves are in a pitiful state right now, you don’t run, you just bait them, then go back and burst them, and use your reveal skill.

I play a revenant btw, and i honestly thing 5 seconds are great. we already have UA as a anti-escape skill.

Just bc they are trash doesnt mean they should be able to get away at will. And i never said that i have to run from thief, but unlike thieves i cant escape from 1vX yet our mobility skill got cd while the one that can be used to chase/escape do not. That makes little sense.

Shiro was supposed to be all about dps and mobility to chase his opponents and right now he doesnt fuction well at the chasing part. For me thats mean half broken legend.

Bc they been uncatchable for far too long. Bc Shiro was supposed to chase and murder everyone that tried to flee. Always hated the fact that i couldnt run from the thief but thief could reset at will. They have far too much mobility which doesnt require target unlike us which is wrong.

Either we get back no cd and just increased energy cost, decreased cd on pt or im gonna asking for nerfs and cd’s to them.

As in title..being unable to catch thief is not fun by any means. If really nothing will be done ill visit thief section and ask for same treatment to add cd’s on their abilities.

It is in general 3x stronger than our skill. 4sec slow, 4k damage. A bit too much imo

It should be at least a bit longer with reduced energy. Right now its trash skill which you never use outside of pve. Theres also overlap with hammers as both now reduces dmg&condi dmg but in the longer run hammers does it better.

It’s for five people, not just yourself.

I rather have it for myself as upkeep ability. Also before this skill was nerfed it was basically endure pain reducing all damage to 0.

Elite is fine for such a strong damage reduction.

Its barely better than protection. Also necro gain 50% reduction in DS.

Revenant hammer auto attack range bug

There are very few attacks that reach outside the listed range. It’s Rangers bow (which actually shoots 2200 range) and Revnants hammer auto attack.

And ele staff and necro staff, its even gs mes which is not projectile based. Its even war longbow (go test and ask for nerf?), its dragonhunter bow. Its everything. But ofc lets nerf revenant obviously. Im so glad leagues coming that for once will separate opinion from clueless people.
