Thats is becoming over the top. First were issues with quickness stomping, but now it even affect my normal ones where i can execute 3x stomps in a row without any effect and it happen too often. I just cleave now as i basically cant stomp anyone.

The real question is not if I can catch your ranger, but if I SHOULD be able to catch your ranger.

And yes, I find swiftness/charge a gap closer. Its not a teleport, but it IS a way to close the gap if you are using them intelligently. Besides, why are we talking purely about gap closers? You asked me to list mobility options.

Except outside of axe the stuff you listened inst really a gap closers.

You want the Revenant to be designed like a Thief and balanced like a Thief. Well, you shouldn’t expect that because they’re different professions.

Thieves are meant to have top-tier mobility and to be balanced around energy costs.

Revenants are meant to have good in-combat mobility (which they do, whether they’re as good as thieves or not) and to be balanced around both energy and cooldowns.

Different professions, different goals.

Im sorry, but revenant was supposed to be balanced around energy for utility skills, short cds+energy cost for weapon skills. Thats why we originally started with no 0 abilities except Jalis road as it had strong stability effect (nerfed into ground). Where people getting that energy+cd from? So far i have seen olny 2 people on forum promoting that but without any real backup to prove it was always meant to be cd+energy for utility skills. Also revenant was supposed to have as high mobility in combat as thief outside of it.

Whats next? Cd on banish (after all you can stack 18 stacks of confusion with it)? Cd on anguish? Cd on riposting shadows or rite of the dwarf? Thats where everything leads. A non cd utility skill class starts to get cd’s everywhere questioning the energy management system.

Also if cd+energy is such a good system, why all games moved out of mana system+cd system and now goes either with short cd’s or no cd’s at all and replaces it with mechanics like stamina? Bc it worse? I rebember the days where we had mana+cd’s in games. Nowdays i cant recall a single game with that feature as that feature is.. dead. It olny proves how “good” that thing is.

Also as i i would like to mention number 1001 time, cd’s are affected by chill/interrupts. Energy doesnt suffer from this. By adding cd to PT i can now log on power lock mesmer and lock any shiro rev out of PT for 15 seconds turning their legend useless for it mobility job #nice balance

Facet of Elements in Glint, Unyielding Anguish in Mallyx, and PT in Shiro. Then you have Axe 4 and staff 5. At a slightly shorter range you have Unrelenting Assault.

But totally, we have no mobility options.

Dindt know Facet of Elements is a gap closer. Thats new to me.
Unyielding anguish is questionable as it cover quite small distance when we take a look at it casttime.
Axe 4 has 12 cd and is dodgeable, but lets count that as one way to get mobility (meanwhile thief can jsut spam shadowshot..)
Staff 5 is not really a gap closer.

I got a idea. Try to run without Shiro and give a try to catch my gs ranger k?

several of our legends have mobility spells, and so do some of our weapons. Saying that PT is our one source of mobility is not accurate.

I really don’t understand why people keep comparing thief shortbow #5 to revenant’s phase traversal. Skills are not balanced in a vacuum against one another. If this were the case all classes would be identical to one another.

Skills are tuned with a greater perspective in mind. If thief was too powerful we could look at why. If the why is mobility we could then look at things like their shortbow #5.

Complaining about thieves ability to zip around the map is not going to have any effect at all on ANet’s opinion of phase traversal. Please, seek real arguments if you believe the change was unjust.

You do realize that sword is our highest dmg wep and that staff “burst” was nerfed already? Nobody will swap to hammer in melee either unless a evade is needed badly cus hammer is too weak in melee. Also i have seen people doing fine vs rev already and its so “hard hitting” ua. Also the game is not really balanced around 1v1 and its easily noticeable by ua nature.. if you want to kill rev bring condi build.

The skill still requires no setup.
Has no counterplay (double dodging is not counterplay)
Has no risk.

This is bad design.

Yeah? I could say the same about steal, insta shatter, insta 12 stacks of burn from guard, slick shoes bypassing evades, stealth bursts and so on. UA is far from being broken compared to some of the stuff going on here nowdays. At least you have clean animation and know when it coming. And btw..you can also teleport away during windup animation as the skill will fail. Its simply l2p issue /thread

revenant is close to being unviable.. stop crying just because you don’t want to dodge unrelenting assault or stop attacking infuse light.. and compared to other dps builds dragonhunter is still on a whole different level.

You literally can’t dodge all of UA…. even if you do blow a double dodge on UA or a 1200 range teleport, it will still be off cooldown in 12 seconds. There’s no punishment for spamming UA.

Tell me what else you have to dodge from sword revenants? Also you know the more foes around rev using ua the lower dmg it is? Or that it break on stealth/hard cc? Or that you can interrupt it before it goes off and put it on 12cd? L2p plox.

You realize they can switch weapon sets right? And those weapon sets have things you need to dodge? Double dodging is not counterplay.

The skill is poorly designed. Look at any hard hitting channeled skill. 100b, pistol whip, blurred frenzy. ALL of them root you and require sufficient set up. All UA requires is that you don’t spam it off cooldown when surrounded by people. It’s entirely too strong in a 1v1.

Herald - Underwater issues

The most fun fact is that if you went underwater with active facet it still continue to pulse. At this point i dont understand why we cant use at least facet with ability to turn them off till they dont figure how to make actives work. Quite lazy on their part.

Legend slots should also be separated from land.

The interrupt works like this: you are already performing the skill (you can see the hammer is about to drop) therefore it will send it on full cooldown just like overloading an attunement (any channeled ability)

Then in this case it should actually take effect and land otherwise it makes no sense and for me its a bug. That said we mentioned 10000 times to reduce the animation to 3/4sec where you summon a delayed hammer which hits 1 second later.

Revenant CoR can very easy hit 9k+ on average armor targets (around 2500 armor) on a 2s CD (also can’t be reflected) and the auto-attack frequently does 4-5k at 1500 range (+300 due to projectile bonus).

The problem isn’t necessarily the damage, but how easy it is to access and how little effort it takes to do. Yes, an enemy can dodge it once, maybe even twice, but even if they manage that, the 3rd one will probably kill them (6s into the fight).

If weapons need specific OP skills to be viable, then the weapon is not well balanced across all of its skills. This is even more horrible than Rapid Fire.

Hammer #2 needs to be looked at.

Enemy should close the gap as fast as possible to a hammer rev. Hammer loses it damage at close range. Thats first. Second. Hammer 2 can be strafed at mid-long range (useless at close) so thats purely l2p issue. Hammer is supposed to be devastating at range so that weapon is completely fine outside of some bugs. Ah btw real cd is 3sec due to aftercast.

1. Upkeep skills cannot be turned off midair.
2. Holding swap legend key wont swap the legend till the key is not released.
3. Mallyx Ul (spikes) tend to bug out on certain maps and change the color to blue as example.

  • Traits

1. Nefarious Momentum activates might outside of combat
2. Enduring Recovery triggers even when endurance is full
3. Equilibrium doesnt show up damage/healing in combat log. Tooltip doesnt listen radius either.
4. Invigorating Flow healing doesnt show up in log.

  • Sword MH+OH

1. Autoattack;

-Preparation thrust experiences issues connecting to targets in move and on uneven terrain. Its get worse with superspeed.

2. Precision Strike;

-Animation doesnt play properly for charr while moving.
-Hit random objects in the world…
-Promotes invisible objects over real targets.

3. Unrelenting Assault;

-Hits random objects in the world
-Interrupt itself near walls/objects, uneven terrain and targets that used stealth.
-Interrupted goes on full cd.
-Triggers confusion 6 times.
-Consumes energy at the start of animation.
-Sometimes place the player inside of a structure.
-Sometimes doesnt evade properly (very rare).
-Sometimes fail to execute/attack portion is delayed. (

4. Duelist’s Preparation+Shacking Wave;

-Can be interrupted right at the start of the cast.
-Block portion is desynced with animation
-Slow increases block duration.
-Shacking Wave miss on uneven terrain.

5. Grasping shadow – Sometimes fail to pull the target. Also fails to pull the target if rev will get cc’ed after a shadowstep (like shocking aura)

  • Hammer

1. Coalescence of Ruins;

-Doesnt hit on uneven terrain, sometimes fail to hit even on a flat ground.
-Animation is stopped on uneven terrain, even small objects such as stones.
-Experiences aiming issues where it shoot in different area to the target.
-Some ground aoes such as line from teragriff charge stops CoR form spreading futher and dealing damage due to target limit cap.

2. Phase Smash;

-Miss on uneven terrain.

3. Drop the Hammer

-When interupted by player/enemy goes on full cd.
-Hammer animation plays 2 times.
-Lack white/red circle.

4. Field of the Mists doesnt block projectiles at melee range.

  • Mace

Searing fissure;

-Doesnt hit on uneven terrain, sometimes fail to hit even on a flat ground.

  • Axe

1. Frigid Blitz;

-Drops revenant in holes on it way rather rather than go around them.
-Final hit sometimes fail to execute.

2. Temporal rift – Miss on uneven terrain.

  • Shield

1. Envoy of Exuberance;

-Provides olny 2 sec of protection instead of 4 when used on yourself.

  • Jalis

1. Soothing Stone – Condition removal comes in after heal, not before causing it to be effected by things like poison.

2. Inspiring Reinforcement;

-Sometimes doesnt provide stability to the caster in a crowd of allies.

3. Vengeful Hammers;

-Deactivates themself on uneven terrain like stairs, edges, small objects or walls.
-Invulnerable status destroy projectiles while keeping the upkeep running on.

4. Forced Engagement – Consumes energy at the start of animation.

  • Shiro

1. Phase Traversal;

-Consumes energy and goes on cd when teleport fails.
-Fails to teleport when there is no straight clear line to target/small object on it way when other teleport skills work just fine.
-Experiences z-axis issues preventing teleporting to the target.

2. Jade Winds – Stun duration is not affected by sigil of paralyzation.

3. Enchanted Daggers;

Enchanted daggers will leech life for your enemy if he reflects the daggers. If the daggers are destroyed, dodged or if people are out of the 1200 range limit, the dagger charges simply vanish without doing anything.

4. Impossible Odds sometimes doesnt deactivate on legend swap.

5. Riposting Shadows can be interrupted at the start of cast as the evade is not played there.

  • Glint

1. Chaotic release;

-Sometimes causes huge fps drop.
-Miss on uneven terrain like stairs.

2. Elemental Blast lack white circle.

  • Downed Skills

1. Forceful Displacement uses description from a old version of this skill
2. Vengeful Blast description is unclean

what baffles me the most is that thieves can reliably STEAL form us 3s of slow while we can dish said condi out only on downed AA.
I mean, SERIOUSLY? We need to get way more access to it, and a great idea to improve mallyx would be to give some to his utils

Riposting shadows should remove slow. For now just waste energy for impossible odds as everything in rev set simply bug to slow. So far none of our issues was fixed but we received nerfs already!

Raising energy was all that is needed.

You are proposing a nerf to all situations where this skill is only needed to be used once, while anet apparently only wanted to nerf it when it is used multiple times.

Global nerf vs situational nerf.

When used only once, is this skill overpowered? If so, then yes, have them increase its energy cost or something. But at the moment, anet decided that it is not overpowered in that situation.

Revenant is energy based. Not cd. If thats the issue with rev then i dont know..scrap the energy system completely and dumb it to trashbin? What was said before? That they added energy system so they could give us strong abilities limited by energy. That they would balance it by upping/lowering energy. What we getting? Slapped cd on everything.

There was more purposes to use this skill as for example getting unblockables. Thats not really wise to do anymore. If PT fail to teleport, its put on cd, if it get interrupted it goes on cd (if it was power lock mesmer it goes on 15cd – thats cool right?), if chilled and cant affort to do RP (in b4 added cd), your cd is increased to 8,3sec. Energy has none of this issues, if if failed the olny thing you lost was energy. Now you lose both.

If everything get cd, what i am supposed to do with energy? Swap at 70% cus i cant use my skills either way? Then it wont matter or actually it will as rev will be focused around spamming everything off cd, swap, spam it again rinse repeat. So much about energy management wow. Cd’s olny dumb this class now and im not sure why would anyone complain about raised energy unless.. they have some issues with managing.

Fortunately for us all, a small cd addition has fixed the problem without nerfing the skill where it didn’t nerfing.

“For us all”??? Please speak for yourself not for entire forum as most is against cd. Theres a reason why we have tons of threads about phase traversal, and none of them praise added cd.

You know why i would go for Shiro? Not for his horrible healing skill, not for his horrible lack of condi removal, but for dps&mobility as that was the job of this legend, this is why we dont really have other sources of mobility either and yet it got nerfed in the most ugly possbile way..like really? Raising energy was all that is needed.

You can only interrupt it at the beginning of animation (jumping) but not during the actual hitting. It has evade on it. You can force it out of it by having your back to a wall or similar obstacle so it bugs out.

It was interruptible in BWE1 and it was a total disaster. Easily counterable, useless, less damaging than AA and with no ability to control targets hit by it.

You can intterupt it by hard cc such as lines of warding. Also interrupted UA during windup animation goes on full cd – thats a tip for ppl complaining about it.

Are you guys high? Increase energy cost won’t do any better then 5 seconds CD, it will only hinder your combat ability
You don’t want your gap closer to be gated behind heavy energy cost since all your offensive and defensive skills also use it.
You won’t spam your gap closer anyway, just when you want to abuse/exploit it for fast traval or make fun of a running thief.
i would rather have the energy cost decrease in compensate for the CD, so i can have more energy whenever i gap close to either damage or if needed run away

nah, it sounds like a l2 CD management and clearly l2p, if you need to rely on spaming gap closer. ( you want to post illogical dumb stuff like that? yea, you get the same thing back)

there’s no energy management bs, if you increase PT energy to 30, whenever you use it, you naturally has 10 energy less, the more you use it the less energy you will have compare to before, which means you will take longer to use other skills, energy management won’t magically make appear all the energy lost…you are bond to have less energy for other skills in the same time frame, which eventually will hinder your combat ability
and why in the world do you want to spam your gap closer anyway…that’s just l2p issue unless you are chasing a running thief or exploiting for map travel

Ill put it simply. Energy increase wont hinder it as much as cd based which is affected by stuff i already mentioned. Also if your teleport fail now youre stuck with 5+cd as opposed to just losing energy and do it again. Cd prevents me from getting in combat faster as now i have to literally walk to get in combat due to cd. It also makes chasing much harder to do. And ye i do enjoyed chasing thiefs and would like continue to do so. If they failed they deserve to be hunted down.

If that cd has to stay, thief has to get cd’s as well on all mobility skills.

4s to regenerate energy, 5cd+ (8,3 when chilled, 10 when locked by thief knife, 15 by power lock) makes sense. But who take that into balance account right? Same with kinda supbar heal when we have no way to remove poison.
Thief can kite rev all day long now if he wish to now btw.

I’ll be honest and I’d like to se CD on ALL skills so that some undertuned one can be buffed without worries

I’m saying again, energy+cd is the system that allows the best balance, allowing big effects without being OP

Please make new category for Manus maps as right now lfg is a huge mess full of everything. It would be even better if each map received it own lfg like dungeons rather than packing everything into open world contest

If the contents gets systematically nerfed, people will rush through it… and one month from now they will complain they will not have any content to play.

I already dont have any contest to play outside of farming ap. Finished maps, story. What else to do in ls3 50$ bundle?

So you did all the masterieas, unlocked all the vendors, got all the new crafting recipes, all the new armor sets, all the new collections, unlocked every wvw rank, unlocked all the spvp reward tracks, found all the new wondering merchants on old tyria and got all the achievements?

You win the game.

Most masteries which is just huge grind. I dont care about new armor sets, all i wanted is mistward and i got that one. Unlocked all wvw ranks? Theres 9999 of em. Spvp tracks? Yeah unlocked them all. AP is not something i care much about. I am basically done already.

You got me there – obviously I don’t play neither enough.

But that actually makes matters worse: to have just one PORTION (or stance) of the rev to outclass a whole profession? That’s a bit ridiculous there dontchathinkso?

And then when things get slimy, rev can stance dance on the fly to a gasp healz build or even worse, legendary b00n build. What’s a thief got on that? Nothing because its the worst class in the game lol.

Good thief can counter rev. We have no burst outside of sword 3 which breaks on stealth. After all all we can do is aa spam. We have gotta manage to hit someone with Shiro heal otheriwse all we will get is..1,6k hp. Duration is short so you can outstealth it easily. Glint? Stop attacking and we wont heal for more than 1,8k. What is left? 4k hp form shield 5 on 25cd which you can poison to reduce by 33% cus no condi cleanse. Immobilize also hits us quite bad when we are not in Shiro. We dont have other sources of mobility either. If we swap out of Shiro we lose mobility for at least 10 seconds and that is really noticeable vs kiting opponents.

Maybe that would help devs to move a bit for making legends useless, usefull.

Or just nerf our olny 2 viable legends to make other 3 looks good. After all if Shiro and Glint will sux, all legends are all gonna be in “good” place right? One will equally sux to another one.

As for this thread, im still doing fine in pvp except i no longer can chase as good as i used to. That really hurts. My reaction to nerf which put me in rampage mode is in attachment..poor souls.

Right now rev situation is terrible howered i still suggest to make one as hes fun at least. Keep in mind that playing rev is lik playing in beta. Much bugs, underpowered stuff etc.

difference is that with short bow you cant deal good damage. phase traversal isnt bound to a weapon right?

and its not fair that all thief survivability get countered. thief already has plenty of counter against stealth. with phase traversal u can just reveal him and then aa him to death

Phase traversal doesnt reveal and to get this ability we have to pick up whole 5 slot package with terrible healing skill. If we could mix n match skills that would be different situation, but we dont. If we can get slapped cd on energy mechanic im pretty sure thief can affort cd’s on their wep skills as well. 5cd on inf arrow is not a big deal after all right? You have other means to close the gap.

cd+energy is the perfect combination.
Energy allows to create powerful effects without much fear while cd stops the skill to be spammed (otherwise you’d need energy costs over 50% and would be unusable)

rev system is the better version of thief’s one.

Yeah? Thats why i aa 90% of the time on sword. You also missed my picture where my phase traversal is ON 12CD!!! Slapping cd’s is just a beginning and i slowly lose interes into the class as it was sold to be as all about managing my energy. Whats the point of energy management when i am punishment either way to skillful management? It dumbing the whole class down to friendly casual level. May as well just spam everything off cd and i will continue to have energy, thats the direction where stuff goes.

If i saved energy for phase traversal i should cast it as much i like it to do, if i saved 100 energy (try that in pvp, lets see how it goes for ya) for jade winds i should be able to cast it back to back. Instead im being punishent that when i have to use second heal i lose all the energy i tried to manage for some burst due to lame cd’s.

Where are cd’s to thief skills im asking? They need them too at this point.

Im simply against dumbing this class down. Soon it wont matter if youre advanced in rev or just started one as energy management wont matter at all. Much skill, mlg noscope levels.

Are you for real? You want a 3 second invuln on a skill that has a 25 second recharge AND that heals? While guardian has Renewed Focus on a 90 second CD? Mist Form is 75? Obsidian Flesh is 50? Elixir S is 60? And none of those skills heal. You do know warrior shield 5 also has a 25 second CD too right? And a mesmer’s distortion requires you to destroy all your clones (1 second per clone, 3 second max) and it has a 50 second CD.

Bro, I’ll type this in the most sober way possible, this is the worst suggestion I’ve ever seen in the history of suggestions, and by bro I mean never my bro.

All the stuff you mentioned can be trained and theres some serious difference.

Guardian also recharge his class mechanic.
Mist form is a stunbreak ability with increased movement speed to escape, can be sued to stomp
Obsidian flesh is 4sec invul, during that time you can do whatever you wish as enemy cannot do a kitten, can be trained to 33sec.
Elixir S is also a stunbreak ability which can remove condi, provide might n stealth (toolbelt), allows you to stomp.
Trained warrior shield stance has 20cd and reflect projectiles while being mobile.

At the very least shield should pulse condi cleanse right now along with it heal.

If you want a mobile block, why not use offhand sword?

But honestly, invuln would be too strong

Where did i stated i want it to be a mobile skill? I stopped using sword since yesterday and went for shield (funny inst it?) cus sword offhand block is bugged, wave and grasp shadow useless – even more so with phase traversal nerf.
