It’s 40 hero challenges within HoT. Even less if you currently have excess hero points. Not a big deal…
No it’s not a big deal to you, it’s a rather large deal to everyone who disagrees, which is the majority. (at least in the forum world)

It does if most of them will require masteries already.

Well based on what colin said we need to buy all core training lines before we can even start herald, and getting to 80 by tomes will just be enough to lvl them all but elite? This is one trick pony! Good think i got loads of speed boosters.
Skip Ventari/Mallyx/Jalis. Depends on preference whenever its wvw or pve pick up dev, retri/invo lines and load rest in herald..thats what i plan to do at least to unlock Glint a bit faster.
Its a real shame that everyone rush to unlock herald cus base rev sux tho.
Again, you cant skip anything, you have to unlock everything else before you can go for herald.

I dont mind losing might on UA..actually im not sure what tis even doing there. Damage and evade is enough. Indicator for Glint? Sure i like shiny things but its not really an issue if you pay attention to bar.
Sword auto is fine and ading cd to phase traversal would break Shiro. One daze from powerlock mesmer and bye mobility for 15 seconds. We already have energy system in and it takes 4 seconds to recover energy from phase..thats enough.
If people have such isues with targeted mobility ability, then what i am supposed to say about thieves? So OP nerf asap?
I prefer sword offhand over shield personally. Mobile block on much lower cd which allows you to block far more damage than you could do with shield+heal.
Howered i agree that sword oh outside of a block is mediocre and need buffs -shock wave and changes – grasp shadow.
Who knows..maybe ill pick a shield in the end too if these issues wont get resolved.

Mistsim dont even try, they probably dont pay attention to the pro pvp scene at all.
Questions are..
1. What is “pro scene”?
2. Why people follow “pros”?
3. Why are they praised like they are some sort of gods in gw2?
I have played with and against players from oRNG, TGC, Crash Car, 50HP Monks and who else is in there.. outside of a team they arent all that strong by any means in soloQ. I have been fighting vs some mesmers players which gave me far more troubles than Helseth for example, but since these guys doesnt stream nobody knows them.
They are popular, they stream and they play in teams. They are not neecesary the best players when it comes to invidual skill tho. Something to keep in mind for future.

Only if it was melee. Yeah, melee Longbow sounds legit.
Warrior longbow work best at melee range.
For wvw im going full dire mace/axe+shield. I hit about 100 direct but it doesnt matter obviously..after all its condi tank build. But we talk about pve here so..
Most likely you will want to wear full sinister for max dmg output even if mace damage doesnt scale well with power.
For runes you could focus on burning – bal runes, malice sigil and pizza food obviously. That would put your burning at +95% duration. Theres might come sigil of torment to increase duration by 20% with HoT so you would be sitting at +103% torment duration (33 from trait, 40 from food, 10 from malice and 20 from torment one). In the end i believe torment runes are pointless at this point.
That burn duration from mace 2 is a bit crazy imo

Ps.If you build for condi then anything else than mace/x is kinda..pointless.

Longbow could be used as condi range weapon. Put Pyro Fierceshot as a legend and call it a day.
I cannot imagine other long range power wep unless its 1h but then we have another problem – none of current offhand would synergy with 1h ranged wep.
Yolo move is to run 2 melee sets when sword/x+hammer is superior. Regards to double melee freebags i have met on my way.
Yeah when you are being bursted by 2-3 people and glint is on CD please tell me how your super slow ranged weapon with 1 single evade helps you survive
Sword set is for bursting, 2nd set should help you survive. Btw staff also has somewhat decent damage, skill 5 actually does more than decent dmg.
if you run marauder you take hammer. if you run something more tanky you take staff.
It’s like saying “thief shortbow is for condi builds only”.
Hammer is not optimal vs certain classes (builds) but it can be said also about staff. Even then tho, you can open with hammer and force ppl to waste 2 dodges quite easily. Projectile block also prevents a lot of pressure, including condi as most condi based attacks are projectiles. You can literally annihilate any condi engi with hammer for example as theres not much they can do at this point.
Hammer allows you to pressure from distance as ruin is nothing to joke about, and that is really useful thing in teamfights. When you get focused by 2-3 ppl you gonna die no matter what you run. Staff wont save you in this situation either. 1 1/4 evade vs 2 sec block. No big deal except evade will always remain evade while there are still unblockable attacks around.
And sword is olny for bursting? Sword actually shinies at sustained damage rather than bursting. I would not consider UA to be burst, as it takes 2 seconds to deal damage.
You know what is real burst actually? Insta 15k from mes. Surge can be considered a burst skill, but UA takes twice as long to deal the same kind of damage and doesnt cc.
Sword is pretty much sustained damage weapon like necro dagger, but unlike necro we can pop up quickness at anytime and deal true pain to anyone who dared to face us in melee. Even reapers has to step back if they dont want to melt. At this point we can consider sword aa to be also burst in this case as it damage is not far away from UA by any means.
I personally had no problem surviving in teamfights with s/s+hammer and berserker amulet. Note that i mention berserker amulet which puts me at..16k hp. Shiro/Glint is not that kind of rev you can focus in teamfight as it is pointless with the amount of evade/blocks we can get along with Glint heal.

I made flameseeker as well and love how the book shines with a beam of light on any action you do. Its the perfect fluff, not overdone as the Eternity with its explosions on big footfalls and burning aura around your char. Cant wait to pair the shield with a fractal sword (which can be purchased for 20 pristines in HoT am i right?)
Yeah..but they delayed patch for fractals. Howered its good reason for me to drop fractal sword as it lost it prestige and rarity. Meh. Hopefully mist sword looks good or ill go for shadow.
So far none of the abilities were affected by legendary stuff except hammer projectiles with bifrost i believe. Personally i hope it stay this way. We already have amazing effects
I wounder if its one of those effects that have been reduced? They said they reduced a lot of FX in that post today.

You guys giving me examples of other traits similar to this are clearly missing the point entirely.
Then make a general post in pvp section listening all these kind of traits instead jumping to rev section and bashing for some “op” stuff. Right now you attacked rev class ignoring everything else in this game.

Idk.. taunt has 45cd and you still autoatk stunned rev. If it was different effect then you could say its wrong but in this case..not really. I rather have last stand with 5 stacks of stab for 8sec with 40cd ya know?
And stab on dodge rewards bad gameplay? Ranger has protection on dodge and nobody complains. Scrapper got stab on evade and nobody complains. Then theres also juggernaut with perma stab just for using flamethrower.
DD dash is a leap finisher, covers longer distance, cures cripple, chill and even immo and provides swiftness.
And that jsut a few abilities that came off my mind. Shall i continue writting them? Theres nothing wrong with th stuff you mentioned by any means.

Out of curiosity i wonder if mistward armor will be fixed for release. In beta many weapons had clipping issues as the armor is not adjusted to them.

I would argue about chrono dominating rev unless its condi build.. As for reaper they are quite easy to take down with rev if you dance around them with sword and hammer. I would even go as far and say reaper cannot affort to stand toe to toe with sword rev that uses impossible odds if he doesnt want to melt in seconds.
“Revenant is not weak to condi” hahah. Its coming to the point where rev can run 6/6/6/6/6/6 builds with 5 legends at once hacking opponent pc so they cant dodge either i guess. UA damage is far from being able to oneshot anyone and theres basically nothing else to dodge.
each weight class has very few “sexy” options at the moment,
though Light certainly is winning!fir sexeh medium armour you’re pretty much stuck to a human with T3 chest and either viper skirt or vigil leggings XD

That ranger is sooo jealous. Its not like ranger inst one of the best 1v1 classes with pets being capable of dealing 15k in one hit.
Mace, axe and hammer didnt had any particle effects so i doubt its revenant bow. It would be awful if it was locked behind blc. Mist weapons are our thing after all.

I don’t think Jalis is meant for brawling, that would be Glint.
When a revenant calls on the power of Jalis, they’ll be transforming into what Cronacher calls a “dwarf brawler kind of playstyle.” They’ll be a tank in the massively multiplayer sense of being able to take a lot of damage, but they’ll also be incredibly aggressive.
It was stated in every article that Jalis would be a brawler. Right now its far from reality as Glint tanks much better while being also aggresive. Inst something wrong here?

Cant lie..i stolen idea of this skill from Manus dark orb barrage in gift It is not supposed to hit more than 3 times single enemy unless they trying to strafe while being in center.

That mode will be great in noobs vs noobs (wvw) but i cannot imagine using it in spvp.
I hope we get in on our staff as well along with different holding stance cus hammer one..doesnt really fit it. But most important im still waiting for a proper sword auto animations, not this fugly placeholder mess we have right now.
Well from my point of view if something dishing out high damage while remaining tanky..its a sigh that something is broken. For that reason im up for adding dire amulet/perx runes so maybe for once they will rebalance risk/reward ratio in condi builds as it is way off in current state and too braindead compared to power.
Right now when you go soloQ you gotta be prepared to be condi nuked over and over. People always played easy yet rewarding stuff and it wont change.

because necros would become godly. simple as that. they synergize too well with vit and toughness. the condi damage is moot. at least right now, their godliness is kept in check by cele stats, and they rely on might stacking for damage.
3,4k extra hp over cele would make them godly? Are you for real now?
Meanwhile they would lose also a good amount of power damage and healing power..something to keep in mind.

Tbh they should revert the change they did long time ago and gve Rite back 100% immunity to direct damage like endure pain. Imho i cannot imagine anyone playing with Jalis in current state outside of pve – healing from hammers at group of mobs is really good as it has no target limit, meanwhile it sux in pvp against retal.
I think Jalis is beyond fixing at this point and he needs total overhaul due to many issues mentioned in this thread.
Just go for full dire. Its a blast.
I’ll also mention that we’re going to be changing the 6/6 bonus on Vampirism. After HoT launch it will no longer proc Mist Form at 25% hp, but will instead cast an AoE lifesteal to up to 5 nearby targets.

Theres one problem.. Rite is still terrible and doesnt work as stunbreak.
Just give it mesmer sword animations. Starting with stab is awful. And while were at it fix sword 2 for charr while moving..
Sword 5 is designed to get max damage out of sword 3, and also to eliminate sword 3s only weakness, by letting you pull your target off a wall.
One dodge and your enemy is back to team.. if it was supposed to work this way it would need 1200 range. 600 is nothing when UA has 450 radius.
It pulls them to you, so even if you were out of range of UA you’ll be in range after. It could definitely use an immobilize, though, to prevent what you’re saying.
Huh? I was talking about the fact that you can run 150 meters to teammates/pets or w/e after a pull and call it a day. Honestly this ability cost too much and if they want to keep it this way it should be unblockable at least to rupt shelters, crystal hibernation and so on – btw if it rupt these kind of attacks it doesnt even pull.
Atm outside of block sword is terrible and i considering to run shield like everyone else till they dont fix it..

We already have immo on wave. There is still that thing that other teammate/pet can come close scenario so even if we apply immo..it doesnt matter really.
I would like everyone to realise that on swapping to jalis and every 10s later you can get 5s of 82%(plus whatever toughness adds) or more damage reduction. Which with regeneration is essentially a free defy pain every 10s.
If you just came from malyx you potentially have close to a 100% immunity to everything on the first swap. If not you still are immune to physical damage 50% of the time.
As far as I can tell only the road and the taunt need changing.
And 0 energy to do anything else. Great energy management right there man
