Ranger range 1500 need risk, Sugg: 1300 range

Wanna know how to make a ranger’s 1500 range attack advantage go away? Approach them. The end.

Wanna make a ranger really cry? Reflect their Rapid Fire back at them. Are they glass? GG, you won.

Do they have Signet of Stone? Gj, you made them pop their six seconds of invulnerability with a cooldown of 60-80 seconds. You will win in seven seconds.

Glassy longbow rangers are delicate.

Most common pew pew rangers camp longbow with no real significant utilities (hurr all signets) or experience with their melee options.

These types melt if you look at them funny. Glassbow rangers are dangerous if you ignore them, but they’re not particularly OP. Further, these things are not easy access/no risk.

A ranger gives up a great deal of traits to make their longbow significant, and someone who goes glass with it is giving up survivability to do so.

They do drop. I got an unexpected drop in a low level area about a week or so back. I think I’ve seen 2-3 mob drops in 2.5 years.

Yup. Sounds about right. I’ve gotten maybe two in all of my time playing from drops.

Though from the chests themselves when I had bought some keys to open them, I’d occasionally get back keys.

It’s going to be a very popular item.

It’s going to be the thing that almost every other player is going to be wearing for a long time, until they realize they’re not as different for it as anyone else.

Thankfully my sense of self-worth isn’t based on being visually unique. My builds are usually all the weirdne- uh, distinctiveness I require .

And really: I’ve very rarely seen people with character’s that look anything like mine either in facial structure or wardrobe. Possibly since I pay some attention to details beyond what backpack they’re wearing .

That in itself isn’t a very sound reason to hate it though. But hate is rarely sound. On it’s own merit, it’s a nifty backpiece that might work well on some people.

It’s just going to be really hard to set yourself apart from the vast majority of the playerbase who all have the same idea.

And many people are just going to look plain ridiculous.

Any proof to back up some of these claims?
How do you know “not all charr agreed with the searing”?

As an explorer in good standing with the Durmond Priory, I know my history. You should try reading sometimes.

I’m pretty sure history mentioned it was Grawl land before it was Charr land.

Actually you ignorant mouse, the entire world pretty much belonged to the Forgotten before anyone else.

Including your current lands, for which the centaurs are challenging you for. We don’t need the birthright argument, we settled it in war. We charr won.

But if you separatist mice are going to try that angle it’s been ours much, much longer than it was ever yours or the grawls.

So in this case comparing with humans (or even grawl), charr also win the birthright argument.

Coming back to the centaurs (that for reason of the agreement between our people we charr are supporting you with, you know, in addition to your ogre problems with Ebonhawke), if you want to go that route human, it’s very likely they were there long before your people showed up.

Your birthright argument is as hollow as your head. Feel like surrendering the war to the centaurs and giving them Kryta based on that premise? No? Didn’t think so.

Also make no mistake – we’ll save this world from the dragons, and then we’ll deal with the charr and make them pay. Use them now, backstab and slay them later.
Seems perfectly fine to me.

The Flame Legion destroyed Ascalon. They were the ruling power of the charr back then.

Not all charr agreed with “well, since we can’t get by the wall, let’s just freaking nuke the place”.

Of course that kind of sentiment back then got you killed as a charr. So. Yeah.

The Searing was also a localized event. It destroyed the Iron Legion territory, what was the human kingdom of Ascalon.

Not Ascalon as a whole which is actually enormous and has always been historically charr land, since the time of the exodus, well before humans began their expansion in the world.

The Searing ruined that land for everyone for well over a hundred years. The beauty of Ascalon having returned is a fairly recent thing.

We have overthrown, denounced, and excised with extreme prejudice an exceedingly foolish and weak bunch of liars, cowards, and religious fanatics. A victory is a victory.

The charr have reclaimed what is theirs. And it is ours. The human ascalonians fought well for a place in the land. They have it.

Now leave the past alone and focus on the present, or do the rest of us who are trying to save this world a favor and go die in a ditch somewhere.

Spare us the casualties of your seemingly inexhaustible hatred and ignorance.

First person camera coming?

First person is going to be really nice in some places, especially if we can swap in and out of it like some FPS and action games, that’s gonna be great.

Not to mention how this will be such a huge boon for short fan flicks and GW2 machinamas.

But I’m really hyped about the “over the shoulder” camera angle we see going on in the wyvern fight.

Something like that during a major boss fight or even in smaller zerg clashes is going to be just fantastic.

If we can kinda hotswap between these different camera modes, it’s going to really bring GW2 to another level. It’s a wonderful surprise.

It’s something I didn’t even think that I needed… and I needed this so much. It’s about time this thing that I didn’t know I needed came!

So… in the cinematic at the end of living story (Spoiler alert) we saw that all sylvari who were on the pact ships turned against everybody else. Their eyes started glowing red and they were possesed by Mordremoth’s will. Some say it was because they were not protected by the pale tree’s influence since she was wounded and weak.
Now connect those facts:
1.All sylvari on pact ships are corrupted.
2.After that there is no return- you cannot go back to normal, you are a mordrem now forever.
3.Traeherne was also on one of these ships

I really hope we will have the opportunity to fight and maybe even kill him

Not all sylvari involved with the Pact assault on Mordremoth were corrupted. Many were, but not all of them.

I assume that has to do with the Mother Tree’s weakened state and the personal will/mental fortitude of the individual sylvari.

Sylvari who draw near to and believe in the Dream and the ideals of their mother are far more likely to resist Mordremoth than say the sylvari of the Nightmare Court or the Soundless.

The Nightmare Court might as well be “free minions for Mordremoth”, but it’ll be especially tragic for the Soundless sylvari… they just wanted to be neutral.

The Pale Tree gave them that freedom. Mordremoth won’t be so accommodating.

I think it really depends on the individual and their faith.

If you’re strong minded and choose to follow after the dream of the sylvari, the Mother Tree and the teachings of Ventari, you’re likely to keep it together against Mordremoth.

If the sylvari in question were Soundless or Nightmare Court, they’re pretty much doomed to be mordrem.

Considering that the Pact air assault was literally right over Mordremoth, it’s no surprise many sylvari were corrupted.

I don’t believe that all the sylvari (regardless of their ‘birth’) present at the assault on Mordremoth were lost to him, but many otherwise faithful and decent sylvari were.

It certainly wasn’t an odd one off thing or a few Soundless, the Pact fleet was dealt a significant blow.

With the Mother Tree weakened right now, weaker wills and lesser constitutions are at risk of being taken by Mordremoth.

Oh, almost forgot another one: you did not fail that Breach champ or Vinewrath champ because of those 4 defeated players.

Agree with this.

I mean they’re still dunce cap losers who like feeling the floor with their face, but they’re not the major reason the event failed.

Yes they suck and they’re not helping, but no, 99% of the time they’re not the major reason your Silverwastes map failed to kill a breach champion or VW.

If we’re going to be unpopular, let’s at least be honest.

When it’s four people in a room of dead players, then you can safely say it was because of those useless finks players. Though I hope it never comes to that.

-Skyhammer is a great and fun map

Agreed.

-Scarlet was a great villain

Agreed.

-Season 1 was much better than Season 2

I think they’re both great.

-WvW should be about tactical thinking, not who has the bigger blob

Agreed. Sometimes blobbing is a legitimate effort, but when it becomes the “im too lazy/tired/bored lol” option, meh. Not sure that can be fixed though.

People would have to en masse share my sentiments. They don’t.

-Dungeons should be fully cleared in order to receive credit for them

Is there any other way this works? Do you mean not skipping mobs, etc?

-Commanders should have to go through an IQ test before they are able to buy their tag

Only if non-commanders can pass a basic “how to competently play this game” test. Otherwise, nah.

A commander tag doesn’t mean anything more than a “rally to me” point of interest. I would agree that someone who knows how to lead is a blessing though.

People like that are becoming rare.

You can’t be a good leader if you cause everyone to hate you (majority of leaders), and you’re not a leader period if you have everyone babying and kissing your kitten as you vet decisions amongst your peers.

The hated mediocre leader is more preferable. An exceptional leader is very rare indeed. But a tag is just a tag.

A tag can facilitate strategy. That depends entirely on the individual however. A tag isn’t necessary for that and for the right person, I’m sure they’ll end up with one.

-WvW points should be defended

Agreed, and kitten those who disagree.

-Zerkers are a liability

Depends on the zerker. A well played zerker is a boon, not a liability. But not everyone should run zerker. Everyone should have a secondary more defensive set.

20-slot invisible bags exist for a reason.

The Walk of Shame

LOL, right as always you are entitled to your opinion. If it was just her personal opinion would it not have been better to NOT user her A Net account? That little symbol to the left that none of the players get, gives the appearance of official endorsement. Personal opinion and that symbol don’t go together.

She never said nor specified that it was her personal opinion.

There was no IMO, IMHO, nor any other form of designating her comment as her opinion.

Therefore it is being seen as an official endorsement that big events are a license to not res anyone.

I don’t consider it a walk of shame. I mean, death happens. I have found, though, that if I’m trying to res someone and they suddenly disappear to use the WP, it can be a little disappointing. You know, we were nearly there and poof!

Too, if someone is trying to res me, I feel it can be unmannerly to just up and leave… even though occasionally I do so because I can see they’re risking too much to help out and I want to make sure they don’t incur death because of me. With no repair fees, it’s a little different now and the guilt isn’t quite as high. Still, seeing the ground littered with people who tried to help out is a wee bit embarrassing.

For me, “to WP or not to WP” it has next to nothing to do with the loot or the rewards or the daily points. It just has to do with how it feels at any given time, what’s right for my situation, what’s right for the group and the overall objective.

I just make it a point to declare that during Tequatl, Silverwastes, etc. People should not be ressing the fulling dead and that the dead should WP and get back.

And that makes infinite sense to me.

Quoted for perspective.

If someone is down, it is in everyone’s interest to get that person back up. Won’t take but a second.

If that person is defeated/dead, especially during a major event with a bunch of potentially fatal stuff going on, that person is going to have to waypoint.

Or, sit there being dead in what equates to a giant dunce cap. You’re not going to win any popularity points for upscaling a major event with your defeated face in the dirt.

Nothing Gaile said here indicates that this is an endorsement of just leaving people for dead. There is a time and a place for rez’ing.

There is nothing unreasonable about this.

So the heart of your complaint is that you can’t tailor a min/max build specifically for a game mode? Because that’s pretty weak. You can already do that with custom arenas.

Ranked matches will (probably) always be Conquest, so you already have complete control of the nature of the fight there.

But if that is expanded, you can expect to see separate ques for Deathmatch and Stronghold. So far both of those modes only has one map confirmed.

Not exactly something you can build a que out of at the moment.

Also, in custom arena you can set Stronghold to be 10vs10. So. Yeah. There’s your GW1 GvG, +2.

NO – in GW1 you could dual a guildie in your guild hall and have a quick match – eg 2v2 or 3v3 or 1v1

You can do this right now. Several 1vs1 servers are out and about, and if your guild has an arena, you can organize any combination in between to your hearts content.

Replace GW1’s guild hall with GW2’s arena. It’s the same thing.

You can do all of these things in hotjoin. Watch, fight 1vs1-5vs5.

There are dozens of servers that are organized and routinely rotate… or use select maps, as preference dictates.

Players have a whole lot of control over these things.

Sure, I guess I just do not know why you think it’s possible that one would be an option and the other wouldn’t.

I say that because I don’t really understand why we haven’t had a new pet since Southsun Cove.

I’m thinking maybe they hit a technical limit to how many pets they can have in the game? I have no idea.

If something like that is the case though, I don’t see the harm in adding simple aesthetics to pet’s that we already have.

That can be done in game, through the gem shop. If it’s simply an aesthetic, it doesn’t matter gameplay wise since it’s just a “skin”.

It still gives an avenue for “new” pets, a bit like the GW1 HoM pets.

I don’t understand why we haven’t had new pets in such a long time considering everything else we’ve gotten.

So I assume that since it seems like such an obvious thing to think about, it just hasn’t been feasible for whatever reason.

I’m certainly not the only person in the world who’s had thoughts of new pets for rangers, and I doubt this wish is any secret to the devs.

But I don’t know the why in that regard. Only Anet does. So I presented a scenario based on what I do know.

We have several “families” or “skins” of pets that share the same F2 ability and stats.

If it isn’t feasible to make a new family for the dino pet I’m wishing for, I presented an alternative of throwing him in the families we already have.

It’s been done before with the HoM pets and the pig family.

It would be great if a new dino pet could be an adventure, an elaborate and challenging quest ala the Black Moa from Factions.

A new pet(s) can happen as a natural part of the expansion (as it happened with Southsun Cove). Anet has good standing there.

But if it isn’t feasible right away, I’m putting an idea out there. I want it to be considered. If it can’t come at launch, maybe it can come later.

And not just for dinos, a gem store option for ranger pets opens up the potential for new aesthetics for pets in general.

Aesthetic variety is a nice luxury to have. If it can come in elaborate, satisfying adventures, all the better.

If new “skins” can come through the gem shop without locking new families or exclusive F2 skills behind it, it’s acceptable.

Even if we can’t get all new families, we can get new “skins” without that becoming a buy to win gameplay issue.

Well thats your opinion that. I prefer to play a game, having fun collecting them. Not buying them, if I would like that I would go play a F2P game. I for example also love to collect mini’s in other mmo’s. haven’t really bothered in GW2 because.. well you know why.

And we likely haven’t seen any new ones in a long time because it’s something you usually see an an expansion. An expansion introduces new maps with new beast and then some of those new beast become ranger pets.

I… didn’t state an opinion here.

I presented a request, and I’ve made an assumption based on the present climate to make sense of the current situation.

Your thoughts on how we might acquire new pets is a legitimate one if not also, your opinion, and one I don’t necessarily find myself in disagreement with.

You comment on what you feel should happen. I’m saying what I hope happens (which is that we get a dino pet/new pets in general).

What actually happens remains to be seen.

I get the idea you want to argue with me over it, but I really don’t care as long as it happens and that it is fair and true to their foundation.

No exclusive F2’s or pet family’s behind the store. “Skins” are acceptable. If we get a new dino pet/family in the expansion that everyone can get, awesome.

If it’s a challenging epic adventure, all the better. I’m totally with you on that.

If it turns out to be a new subspecies of drake with a cool skin that everyone can get in the expansion, still fantastic.

If it a new ‘skin’ of the Reef Drake that we can get from the gem store later?

A dino-skin/any other new pet look that functions exactly the same as a Reef Drake/any other current pet, except for the appearance? I’m fine with that. That’s fair.

If it is a new pet that is exclusive to the gem store with an exclusive F2? That’s not okay. Savvy?

How many hours you got in GW is irrelevant. If all you tried was farm rings during events, while ignoring double week pts and other ways of obtaining the pts then you just made things last longer that necessary. And obv it’s grind, but it’s no where near the level and impact of, let’s say, ascended.

You’re joking, right? I can get an ascended weapon in about two weeks, tops.

To get that lucky title in GW1 was an insane grind of AFKing in rings for an entire event (month long or so), off-put ever so slightly by those double point weekends.

It’s much better these days since the holidays and the double point events now rotate on fixed schedules due to the automation of GW1, but back in the day, that came maybe twice a year?

The rest of the year was you playing with lockpicks. That’s not to mention the insane amount of money you had to pour into it.

Comparing this to ascended stuff is unconscionable. Just had to point that out as a GW1 player.

Ya’ll feel free to get back to your fruitless debate regarding grind that was summarily put to rest some 15+ pages ago.

I need one of these. Badly!

I don’t care if it’s a whole new animal to tame as part of the expansion, or if you want to add aesthetics/skins to already existing pets through the gem shop.

I just… want one! Please let me tame one? Pleeeeeease?

I would prefer to make it an interesting tame. But the cash-shop? Really? I will pay for the expansion, how about that?

Yeah let’s make the whole taming process more interesting (hit, buying it form a cash-shop is not interesting) but there is already a thread about that so I would suggest going there.

If it can become a brand new pet all of it’s own in the expansion, that’d be even better. I’d love to see a genuinely expanded pet collection/family to choose from.

But we just haven’t seen that happen and I don’t know why.

But the means doesn’t matter to me. If Anet makes it available in the game as a pet, I’m getting one. I’d really like one.

Please let us have one!
Those little dinos could obviously use some ranger intervention!

“That can be done in game, through the gem shop. If it’s simply an aesthetic, it doesn’t matter gameplay wise since it’s just a “skin”. “

Uhhm yes it does. The hunt for a rare pet is amazing, in fact one of the most fun elements I find in an MMO. Just buying it completely destroys that. Sure it already does not exist in GW2 but when we are talking about new pets or adding ones, then why not make it.

I’m not disagreeing with you. You can’t improve on something that doesn’t exist.

If it happens, I’m all for it as a rare pet hunt, a new class of pet family, and something to look forward to expanding in the future.

If it can’t play out like that for whatever reason, I’m all for a gem shop option for “skins”, in the vein of GW1 HoM pets.

I have a preference but ultimately if it is a choice between not having a dino at all VS less ideal gem shop option for reskinned pets, I’ll take the later over the former.

Is that a difficult concept to understand?

I need one of these. Badly!

I don’t care if it’s a whole new animal to tame as part of the expansion, or if you want to add aesthetics/skins to already existing pets through the gem shop.

I just… want one! Please let me tame one? Pleeeeeease?

I would prefer to make it an interesting tame. But the cash-shop? Really? I will pay for the expansion, how about that?

Yeah let’s make the whole taming process more interesting (hit, buying it form a cash-shop is not interesting) but there is already a thread about that so I would suggest going there.

Other thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/More-Pets/first#post4763145

Shatterstone is not for direct damage and it is in fact quite useful. The cast time change has made it even better.

Me? I’m not happy accepting shoddy excuses and thinly veiled gloss-overs of non-professional conduct. I do not owe ArenaNet the same consideration I would extend to a family member or a friend, and given the utterly transient nature of our business relationship, I would consider myself terminally foolish if I did.

It boils down, quite simply, to what you’re willing to accept. Clearly, you have a different threshold of tolerance for various things than I have – that doesn’t make you wrong and me right or vice versa; right and wrong don’t even enter the picture on such matters.

Are you happy with what you choose to tolerat? If so, you must be doing it right per your own wants and needs.

And so, we’ve come full circle.

So I heard of a thing, but is it okay?

Nothing is endorsed. Nothing is vetted. If anything bad happens as a result of you using third-party apps, the consequences will always fall on you alone.

It can’t be much clearer. If you don’t understand, err on the side of caution and don’t use any third-party apps.

If you want any more of an answer than the one provided, consider the following.

And yes, we do not review, vet, or approve third-party programs. Each person who wants to know whether something is acceptable needs to read the messaging that is provided and make a decision based on those comments.

Or, you can approve

Why would she do that? What thought process are you using to assume a community manager and liaison, redefines a companies user agreement and customers code of conduct?

They’re not. Thinking that is.

Where does D/D stand after all of the nerfs?

in Elementalist

Posted by: CETheLucid.3964

CETheLucid.3964

D/ was actually buffed DPS wise.

The nerf is that the rotation is less forgiving now. The timing is a lot more tight for field blasting if you want to maintain steady DPS. Or it feels that way.

On it’s own though, Lightning Whip’s overall speed increase is a decent DPS gain of about… ~+5-10%? Somewhere in that general area?

If they didn’t add that 10% base decrease, the speed gain on the new LW would end up doing almost ~+20% the damage it used to do.

But yeah, the ‘nerf’ is a tighter rotation and the fact that LW can’t abuse SoR anymore. The later was intended, the former just might be that I’m not used to the new tempo.

Going to need to play around with it more, see if I can get my groove going steady again.
_

TL;DR
Ele’s whip stuff with lightning faster for a small DPS boost, LW SoR abuse is dead.

Ascended IS mandatory for fractal lv50, the only content at the moment remotely “challenging” to a group.

70 AR requires fully infused accessories, and 2 extra ascended pieces be they weapons or armor.

And if you wish to change weapon setups? Guess what go grind some more ascended or get screwed in fractal 50 with unavoidable agony pulses.

I know the majority of PvE players in this game are casuals who like their mindless zergball open world farm where nothing really matters, but ascended gear does make a difference in fractal 50 and it definitely makes a difference in pvp where a 5% stat advantage is still an advantage.

Let me tell you why that’s BS.

Beginning with the most egregious BS,

  • Ascended armor, weapons, and trinkets provide a net bonus of zero, zilch, nothing for you in PvP.

All gear is normalized in PvP from whites to purples. Your gear means nothing in PvP. You customize that with the PvP jewels.

  • Level 50 fractals is an optional endeavor, probably wonderful money wise and exceedingly challenging… and not compulsory or necessary at all.

No body needs a level 50 fractal. No one.

The most rewarding things that fractals has to offer you (exclusive weapon skins) are potential rewards long before level 50. That’s by design.

Now, what does that tell you about the intentions of the designers there with regards to grind?

Come on now. Put on your thinking cap. I know you can figure this out!

Having a hard time translating this.

Yeah, we know.

To proper English I left that part out initially because I did not want to come over rude towards you. Anyway, nice that of the comment this is all you had something to say about.

Not much left to say, there is no honest discussion to be had. I’ve attempted to clarify this to you at least three times. And that’s just me.

Other people are saying the same thing. You double down and repeat your mantra of all things are grind and therefore GW2 is grind.

By saying everything is optional and therefore qualifies as a grind to support your argument, it follows that everything is considered a grind.

You said this. Not me.

Following this logic, I suppose you’re correct in the same way I’m related to the sun. We’re the exact same thing, the sun and I. We’re both made out of atoms after all.

Screw the relevant details, right?

You’re using relativism logic and stretching yourself like spaghetti to make an argument for grind when there isn’t any in any honest sense compared to other games in the same genre. GW2 stands apart in this regard.

I can’t help you understand this concept if you’re not getting me after three posts. Can’t say I didn’t try. Maybe it’s the language barrier?

Like I said multiple times. Nothing is mandatory!! It’s a game, the whole thing is optional.

And no, not everything is a grind if it also applies to optional things (what everything is).

Okay then, by your admission, everything is a grind. Gotcha. You’re wrong mind you, but at least we all know what spin you’re trying to sell.

Nope not everything is a grind. Even explained that but you prefer to ignore that and just repeat yourself.

No I quite clearly made a distinction apparent there, to which you responded saying everything is optional.

Yes, everything is optional. Living is optional. Life sure is such a nasty grind! I mean, how general do you want to get here?

So following this brilliant path of relativism logic, playing the game is grinding according to you. Your words.

This is not what grinding is. It was pointed out to you several times, not just by me.

People farming money for pretty things is not an enforced mandatory grind required to remain relevant game-wise.

But in this regard, you are correct: I repeat myself. It just seems to go over your head. How about now? Savvy?

This is from Wikipedia:

Grinding is a term used in video gaming to describe the process of engaging in repetitive tasks during video games.12 *The most common usage is in the context of MMORPGs like Realm of the Mad God, Tibia, or Lineage 3 in which it is often necessary for a character to repeatedly kill AI-controlled monsters, using basically the same strategy over and over again to advance their character level to be able to access newer content. *

Like how people kill the world bosses over and over again to grind for the gold to then but the items they like?

No, there is an exclusive distinction to be had there. Mandatory != Optional. Nothing in GW2 forces you to grind to remain on par with your fellow players.

Most people will agree that exotic gear is the standard, and there are a dozen ways to earn this gear that does not involve a significant time sink when compared to other games in the same genre.

The way you’re wanting to apply it means everything is a grind. That’s a wee bit disingenuous.

At this point I think the Revenant is also a Monk/Necromancer/Elementalist/Ranger/Warrior/Ritualist/Paragon/Assassin -_-

Comparing GW1 and GW2 classes…

Monks = every class
Necro = Necro
Ele = Ele
Ranger = Ranger
Mesmer = Mesmer
Warrior = Warrior
Ritualist = Engineer
Paragon = Guardian
Assassin = Thief

and now, the only one that was missing…

Dervish = Revenant

the guardian is a mixture of warrior and monk, the paragon has nothing to do with that.
engineer was never really done right to “replace” the ritualist, so you could say that this profession is on it’s own.
the revanant is most definitely ether an assassin/ritualist or something entirly new/

Nope, Guardian is pretty much an offensive combat Monk with Paragon thrown in.

Couple of their shouts are Paragon skills from GW1, and several titles refer to the Guardian with paragon terms.

Guardian is the Monk evolved to be a more offensive and active player from it’s GW1 roots as a healer.

It still has some healing and it’s an even better buffer, but the class is something new.

The Elementalist has become a superior direct healer through the water magic line, but even this is very much different from what a monk was in GW1.

Engineer is indeed the techno successor of the Ritualist with the tool-belt and turrets replacing ashes and spirits respectively.

Thief is the inheritor of the assassins shadow arts with their own twang and twist to it. It very much looks like the Revenant is going to be kin of the Dervish.

Whereas the Dervish was a more exclusive class that could take an avatar after the human gods, the Revenant is going to be more inclusive.

Spanning various “heroes” of The Mists, sans any actual form.

They seize this power and for a moment they are the reincarnation of the “hero” they channel. Kinda Dervish, kinda Ritualist, and neither of the aforementioned.

100% Revanent.

The tengu did send one of their best weaponsmiths during the campaign against Zhaitan. We might expect more indirect aid in that regard.

Tengu are in a weird place where they seem quite xenophobic towards outsiders, yet they routinely come out to trade their wares.

They’re also not above lending a hand against the dragon threat.

We might get tengu as a playable race someday over the rainbow, but obviously not in the foreseeable future.

We haven’t seen a disaster big enough to push the tengu outside of their wall or enough to be willing to open up to outsiders.

Till that day comes, tengu are going to come off as stoic and rather cold folk.

If something goes down in LA as far as the tengu are concerned you better kitten well stay on your side of their wall.
