You’re purposely using a sub-par build just for the hell of it over a build that has had extensive math done over the course of a year. Best pure axe build is 30/25/0/10/5. And i gave you the best advice anyone could give you. Mob stun you? Use a stun break. Mob starts blocking? Use signet of might. There’s not a set rotation, other than use 2 off CD and auto attack.

You need a full group of people willing to run Arah story mode with you, the hardest dungeon in the game and easily takes 2-3 hours with a pug group

I know this was just a crit reel, but i cant help but point out that everyone who died to your killshot was

1. Running away not looking behind them.

2. Being distracted by someone else from your server.

3. Not noticing you on top of a tower.

All the other warrior weapons need none of this to be effective. While rifle can fulfill a niche sniper build (nothing like firing a piercing killshot through a zergs frontline) all the other weapons vastly outperform it. Go against a good player with rifle and theyll wipe the floor with you.

Yes because the immob is applied on the first hit. So much better than the Ma/Sh skullcrack build.

Yeah, use soldier. Youre also forgetting the toughness that comes with soldier.Your main role as hambow is bunker mid in the big team fight

You’re only source of any damage at all is a tiny amount of burning.

I’ve been missing the warrior from launch lately. You know, the #frenzy100b warr of old. So ive been trying out this GS+Axe/SH build and its so much fun! The damage you can dish out is absolutely insane! And you still have 2500 armor, enough to avoid insta deaths. Combined with the great mobility, endure pain, and and shield stance, youre hardly as squishy as youd think. Sure there are the awkward moments when eviscerate doesn’t crit, and you get blown to pieces afterwards, but its still awesome fun to roam with. Anyone feeling bored should definitely try this build out!

Just a few thoughts. Sw/Sh + GS allows INSANE mobility, which is awesome being a zerker when fights go bad. Final thrust does similar dmg to eviscerate (tho twice the CD). And flurry is a perfect 100b setup.

Awesome burst. Awesome mobility. Awesome CC. Awesome condi removal. Tanky as hell.

1. Have a source of condi removal (important!)
2. Kill the berserker clone as fast as possible, so he can’t stack bleeds that good anymore
3. Cleave through the clones when going for the real one, the less clones the better
4. Use immobilizes on the real one, longbow ‘5’ / flurry / bolas, they are realy vulnerable to those
5. Don’t go too squishy, PU mesmers have for around 40-50s stealth? Than they’ll run into problems and most of the time I kill em there. So you have to survive for that long.
6. Bring mobility, their blink is on a low cooldown and you have to keep up with it.

You have no idea how PUs work. Cleaving through clones is the absolute worst thing you can do.

PU mesmers are literally my easiest kills. They can’t do anything if you stand there and refuse to fight. They rely heavily on torment block on scepter, and clone deaths to do dmg.

1. Dont kill clones or youll get an AoE cripple+x3bleed/weakness/vuln.

2. When they raise their arm in a blocking stance, STOP attacking them. They’re not doing anything to you while their blocking and if you attack, thats where they get the x5 torment. If you do happen to attack, IMMEDIATELY dodge to avoid the stacks.

Mesmers of all types are also very slow, so if the fight ever starts going bad, just run away.

Id like something like rangers Troll Unguent. Something like a 200 passive heal, but then activate it for a 600-700 passive heal, with a decent modifier.

That trait almost doubles the areal coverage of bombs, so seems pretty pivotal to a bomb-centered build.

Wasn’t enhance performance supposed to be instead of HGH? I thought that’s why the build in that other thread suggested it.

Yeah it was a couple patches ago. And they have a 240 base radius. The trait adds 60. Thats 25% increased radius.

Enhance performance, battle sigil, elixirs, and noble runes are all mandatory for an HGH build. One cant come close to compensating for another.

As an aside, I just did one of the new living world events. One of the commanders actually asked for AoE heals and I ran around bomb-spamming the whole group, lol.

Bomb radius trait isn’t needed as much after the buffed base bomb radius. And enhance performance is a niche trait. Only for HGH.

Dont know how bad your enemys are but vs me you wouldnt survive 1 cc chain with a build like that. I guess you dont fight against people that use conditions or cc.

How many engineer builds (condi or power, doesn’t matter) have no stability? How many (again, condi or power) also have bottom tier condi removal?

So by your logic, the only viable build for engi is HGH.

I’m actually toying with the idea of instead of full defense, maybe going 30/10/30/0/0 for both bomb and grenade spamming.. gear being a mix of cleric and soldier. Would that make any sense at all or am I just confused again?

That specific build would make a lot more sense with condi, because of grenadier and shrapnel.

Just keep experimenting with what does and doesn’t work for you.

It depends on the build. If no GMs make sense, then why force one?

People do use the falling dmg traits fairly often in WvW. They’re great for trolling enemies off cliffs. Nothing funnier than jumping off a cliff and when you’re enemy sees you at 50% they jump thinking theyll survive when in reality they insta die. The thief one probably sees the most use. Warrior one is also awesome for defending keeps and towers. (If you have a train of warriors with this trait the structure literally cannot be taken.

Again, I have no illusions about a build that’s highly defensive also being highly offensive.

I do like the idea of a balance, which is part of why I was looking at carrion gear. Of course, there I give up something also. No free lunch.

I don’t plan to roam solo with this character. It’s intended to be used in a small group, and I’m okay with doing less damage than others. I just want to do as much damage as I can while also being tough and supportive.

You definitely should have said youre roaming with others first. Go full cleric with rifle for some control. Id also run HT for more group heals (even tho MK is bigger solo heals). Dont forget to stack stealth with Bomb kit 4, and youre group will absolutely love you.

Since i think this is about my build that we discussed, ill try to answer some more questions.. Sure, go cleric with P/S if you NEVER want to kill a thing. People dont just sit and let you spam bombs on them. If youre roaming with a friend tho this is ok since he can very glassy so you can still succeed. If youre sitting there spamming bomb auto, youre doing it wrong.

Have you seen what confusion can do to people? 25 stacks lasting 20 sec ( if you took my advice about perplexity.) means 5k dmg every time they use a skill. If they try to use a movement skill, even if they cleanse it immediately after you apply it thats still a free 5k dmg. People in WvW are just bad in general and most will sit there auto attacking you with 25stacks.

Now i remember where this all started, you said your guild was talking about these unkilkable engineers. I linked you a video. Thats the build most people talk about when they say “unkilkable, condi AoE spam engineer”. An engineer good at blasting water fields really is unkilkable, and allows for a lot more offensive build.

Very powerful power build.

Condis are fire and forget. You don’t have to immob/CC like you do with bomb auto. Condis only need one stat. Condis also synergize with defensive builds because the longer youre alive, the longer theyre dealing damage.

Cleric bombs are good for frontline zerging, otherwise go condi.

MA no question with hybrid

If you put 25 might then yeah, condis can do a lot of dmg. Bosses dont move typically move a lot tho.

I have questions not critiques but I’m missing something I guess.

I think of Tool Kit as a bit more power oriented and grenades as more condition oriented. Having both on the same build with 2200ish attack and 1500ish condition surprised me.

That being said, I do like the combination.

I also struggled to understand why you went 20 in inventions versus the standard get backpack regen and swift kits. That would also free up your adapt trait in firearms.
So you need swiftness (adapt trait in firearms) and power shoes (master in inventions) to essentially get what you would have just taking 10 in tool kit.

Is there something about the minor traits you really find useful in inventions?

BoN is pure condi, pry bar is great for power and condi, gear shield helps with survivability for both, and magnet is a great 1200 pull. Its hybrid just like nades/bombs.

Speedy kits only allows for 50% vigor uptime, while invigorating speed is 100%.

Like he said in the OP, AMR is absolutely amazing for sustain, More so than backpack regen. Not to mention +200 toughness/heal power

Around 3k. But if you do melandru+knight/cavalier you can get like 4k. Soooo hard to die especially with HS/adrenal

This may be a long response, so beware.

Mostly ok, except for a few things.

No cleansing ire. Every single warrior build goes at least 20 into defense for this amazing trait. It gives awesome condi removal and awesome adrenaline management. (Between this and furious you build adrenaline insanely fast, allowing for sword f1 immob while theyre stuck in your fire field.)

Healing shouts without healing power. Bad idea. If you want to use healing shouts use apothecary gear. But it is literally the most boring, mindless, and yet OP build available.

Rabid over dire. Warriors only have 1 condi proc on crit. A 3 sec bleed. Thats not worth all the health you get from dire gear.

Nearly 2200 condi dmg with stacks, 24k health, and 3500 armor. You have to try to die.

Also FYI, few warriors run zerker. Most run this skillless boring condi crap.

Only weapons and utilities matter. Use the highest damaging gear you can still survive with with GS+Sw/Wh and bulls charge. GLHF

Axe and hammer arent bad for combat, but you have absolutely no mobility, which is key for roaming.

3k armor, 2100 power, 101% crit dmg, 47% crit chance before fury and precision stacks, and 19k health. Plus great mobility. After the patch what with the sigil changes, run impact/air on hammer and hydromancy/perception on your GS.

This is the most effective roaming/1vX build, other than boring condi
