It will make Power based healing builds possible if they exist. Currently only Condition based healing builds are more viable than power ones. Once they nerf critical damage stat it may make more sense to do this currently it doesn’t. 500 is not a joke btw that is really strong. Thats 10k per 20 seconds.
Investing almost every stat you have just for an extra 100 health every second, thus destroying any damage you could do is not even close to worth it.
I think you are having tunnel vision. Healing builds are not just Healing sig, and adrinal healing scales much better with healingpower aswell doing healing shouts. A healing power build would use shouts/banners,adrinal healing and healing sig and it all adds up to a very significant increase in HP recovery. If you never tried a healing power build you would know that..
The issuse with power based healing builds is currently all there is clerics, which minor stat is power and has no precision or critical power. So even though this is a power based healing set it is very weak damage wise. You could do much better with mixing this new set with lets say zerker, and still maintain some decent DPS while getting much more healing. Right now apothecary mixed with rabid or dire is the only way to go becasue you don’t need power or precision to deal condition damage.
Thats true i forgot about shouts. But i still dont think its a good build idea since youre missing out on the toughness
We do have weapon stats just not weapon strength. Weapon strength is automatically applied as the average for exotic weapons to all kits.
Get rid of blood or put strength on your mainhand
Awesome burst. Awesome mobility. Insane condi clear. Tanky as hell
Sword and GS, JI, and traveler runes or speed
On crit things have an ICD. Blood has a 2 sec, strength has a 5 sec i think. Wiki is very helpful with these kinds if things.
Hiddenflames:
That is the common fallacy argument every class makes when refuting the need for a nerf. It goes like “but I can’t have everything you are talking about at the same time”.
But that is true of even the most balanced class. I know engineer. It is balanced well.
The balance isn’t that I can only take so many of the best in game skills and abilities at one time, it is that I have very limited access to the best in game abilities and skills. I have a couple but the rest are average and a few things are very weak no matter what build I run.
The problem with the warrior is that they are picking from the best inventory of best skills. That is a balance problem.
As a warrior i would absolutely love to trade rifles. Id use it on almost every build. Id love to have the high stealth uptime you can get with blasts and smoke bomb. Id love 2 water fields every 20 sec. Id also love bomb kit on my condi build.
Grass is always greener. Different professions are different. Go figure
What does that mean, no base damage.
I like it when people misread the tooltip startup as overall attack speed even though it’s super obvious just by looking at it that the bomb doesn’t hit twice a second. I wonder what those people think about skills like warrior axe auto that don’t even have startups listed. Do they just assume they’re instant?
What I meant was that some grenades and bombs just apply conditions and thus not profit from power. Or am I overlooking something?
Bomb auto attack scales the best with power of any skill in the game. You shouldn’t use anything other than 1 and 2 to stack might in PVE anyway
Because its “dynamic” and “engaging”
Yeah i only play pvp but devs actually took time away from pvp to make something for another game mode but i only pvp so wtf Anet? I am paying customer

@OP WvW is taking up the debs time? What about the LS content every two weeks? Nope its obviously WvWs fault.

Perma stealth was already “fixed” on Dec 10. Its not possible with the heart seeker smoke field combo anymore
I have on my engi just waiting for gw2skills to update with it so i can play with the stats. But since HS and adrenal scale so horribly with healing power its a waste on a warrior. I think with 1900 healing power HS can tick for 500?
There is no trait for thieves to go stealth on immob. He was probably using blinding powder everytime you immobilized him. Also engis have a smoke field on bombkit #4 with a TON of blast finishers. I imagine an engi and thief together could stay stealthed pretty much indefinitely.
With the upcoming balance patch, it’s time to push this thread.^^

From 10-20 put 10 in arms for Deep Strikes. (I know thats not in the current build, but you’ll be able to retrain. ) from 20-30 put 10 in discipline for Warriors sprint (also at 30 youll get your signet elite, pretty much use this off CD for the awesome boons.) 30-40 doesn’t really matter if youre having trouble staying alive 10 in defense for dogged march or cull the weak. At 40 youll get a new trait book to unlock the next tier and itll automatically reset your traits. Put 20 into defense for dogged march/cull the weak and merciless hammer. From there put 10 in discipline for warriors sprint/signet mastery. 40-50 put in arms for Deep Strikes again. 50-60 also doesn’t really matter, put them wherever. At 60 youll buy your final trait book, also resetting your traits again. Put 30 into defense for dogged march/cull the weak, merciless hammer, and cleansing ire. Put your remaining 20 in discipline for signet mastery and destruction of the empowered. 60-70 put 10 more in discipline for burst mastery, and 70-80 put 10 in tactics for leg specialist.
PVE doesn’t really need a rotation since mobs just kinda stand there but there are multiple different combos for Pvp that you can practice on mobs. For example a good counterattack combo is hammer#4, hammer #3(immobilize with traits) and then hammer burst skill(f1). The f1 is normally very telegraphed and easy to dodge, but you can’t dodge while immobilized
. Their also now stunned for 2 sec, so use hammer #2 to weaken them and follow with a hammer #5. This will knock them down for 2 sec, and quickly swap to GS and use the #2 which is normally impossible to land in pvp since it roots you for the duration, but against a stunned or knocked down foe they won’t be able to fight it. Most players will also be dead by now unless they use a stun break or block so pop your dolyak signet so you won’t be interrupted stomping them.
Gear for level 80 is in the link, but for 1-26 just use straight power gear. (Anything with the prefix mighty). From 26-65 use power/prec gear (strong) and from 65-80 use the gear in the link. (Just use greens the whole time until 80)

Power build
Condi build
Both are extremely tanky and also do extremely high damage. Practice dodging, interrupting, and blinding rather than straight up tanking hits. This will be extremely important for you to know at least a little once you get into pvp. If you level with one of these youll also hopefully pick up a few good tricks to use once you hit 80 for pvp.

Lindbur I didn’t say I was going to leave Blackgate, I am currently on Sea of Sorrows and Blackgate is where I would like to start over. My questions regarding Blackgate is because it seems like the best server but I am afraid of things such as lag, gold seller spam ruining chat, queue times, etc…
Can someone provide me with a Warrior leveling build?
Let me ask a few questions before giving you a leveling build. Do you prefer DoTs or straight power? Glass cannon or absolute tank? These are important to help you.
Id reroll onto a lower pop server. Server doesn’t matter for anything PVE. But in WvW the high pop servers are just one giant Zerg ball, making it very hard and annoying for solo players. But if completing face rolling things with an 80 man Zerg is your thing, go for it.
Server only matters for WvW. You can temporarily “guest” to any other server for free for anything PVE related.
No wait time to log into servers. Occasionally you’ll experience queues for WvW, but those only happen on high pop servers on reset night.
Necro is pretty lackluster in PVE. All the other professions can bring what a necro can, but better. Thats not to say you can’t bring a necro into a dungeon, but itll underperform compared to another class. Necros in pvp on the other hand are very strong in pvp and WvW right now. Their condi build (DoTs) is receiving a pretty huge nerf next balance patch, but their MM petting zoo spec is very easy to play and one of the most OP 1v1 spec.
Warrior on the other hand is great for PVE and pvp. At launch, they were absolutely horrible for pvp, but a couple months ago they received a lot of buffs to sustain and condi clearing. Most people think they are the most OP profession in the game, but any good player can melt the highly telegraphed warrior.
I also main warrior, and can help with further questions in that regard. One more thing. Since you said you already gave this game a shot, a little advice. Dont go into this game thinking its just like WoW. Youll have a really bad time.
I strongly suggest giving this

For PvE though? I’m a little unsettled. While I always carry a zerk set with me, is there anywhere in FoTM or other dungeons, where a Cleric Healer like this would be beneficiall over zerk? (I am thinking situations we stack, like chest seal in Cliffside?)
Nope, PVE for any class should be full zerks
If you plan to frontline you need full out tank. That means 10/0/30/30/0 with full soldier, soldier runes, shout heals, and hammer+/Sw/Wh
Decent just a few minor changes
Ah man! I forgot about the new zealots combo! My mind is ablaze right now of some zealots/cavalier build now! Just wish gw2skills would update so i can play with the stats.
Its in my sig.
I recently got my beloved ele to 80, and have been running a lot of dungeons on him. However, I’ve noticed that I tend to go down or die more than any other party member, incliding other eles. Are there any guidelines on how to better stay alive, such as traits and or gear stats?
Use this. You’ll never die again!
LMAO! Corrupted gays and water magic 420 just made me die. Lololol
Here update.
Lolololol dat sexy geyser placement. Also why the 10 points in exploit? I think they’d be better off in swag magic
Because everyone is an exploiter these days! Get with the times. Stacking, LoSing and dealing damage is all an exploit.
But dead DPS is no DPS? Gotta stay alive to keep all the bad exploiters up!
Yes. Let us fuel your rage!
Warrior.
So recently ive felt like playing a Sword/Sword class and am having a hard time deciding between a Warrior or a Mesmer.
A little background about myself..I’m someone that’s very experienced with the game have have 6 80s already (one of them being a warrior already the only ones that arnt 80 is Mesmer and Engy). I don’t mind recreating a warrior on a different race though. Mesmer on the other hand is someone that I have @ 20 currently and the only reason is because of the Birthday gifts (cant get rid of those things!) As a player I’m a part of a part of a hardcore WvW guild but the character here would be more of a PvX character that I would use when not running together with the guild. So it would be a fair balance between roaming in WvW to sPVP and some PVE content.
What I would like to get opinion on is how the community feels about S/S on a warrior vs S/S on a Mesmer.
I would like to get peoples input on the
-effectiveness of S/S builds in each category of the game for either class
-effectiveness of the skills themselves and overall synergy that they have.
-overall usefulness @ level 80 content (PVE,WvW,sPVP)
-overall fun of S/S on one class over the other. Also… would you say that a dual Infinite light would look better on a warrior or a Mesmer? o.O
I have to say mesmer. Swords on warrior are pure condi, thus making them bad for any PVE content other than open world (but “OP” for WvW and pvp). Dual sword for mesmer is very close to the PVE meta(just have a focus in your swap) and dual swords work great in phantasm builds for pvp or WvW. Infinite light also looks cooler on mesmer.
Rampager will give you the highest damage output with Grenades. Rabid is pretty low but has defense. I’d go Carrion over Rabid personally if you don’t want Rampagers.
In group PvE Zerker and Rampagers are almost equal due to how conditions work. On world bosses conditions are terrible so Zerker/Knights is much better here. I think of conditions as extra added damage when they work, I won’t count on them as my main damage source in anything PvE.
GL
Blood~Thanks, though it feels kind of counter-intuitive to go for zerker when you got a condition heavy trait build. Especially since some grenades and bombs don’t even have a base dmg. But I guess I have to play around with it a bit.
With full zerker and buffs you can reach 8k bomb autos. Thats 16k DPS, and on top of that youre stacking vuln for your team.
Bombs dont even have base dmg trololo

Just one thought. Desperate power is so niche. If you changed it to leg specialist, #3 is essentially a second shield bash in setting up eviscerate.
Simple way to test would be throw impale and mouse over the stacks on the mob with and without the runes.
Warrior, engi, and mesmer are probably the strongest roaming professions right now
Thats CoE gloves, duelist chest, Arah head, and rest is HoM
Yes a low dmg one would replace those stacks. This is why condi dmg is horrible for PVE as well as a lot of professions get a minor trait where they bleed on crit, even if not spec ing into any condi dmg theyll overwrite your stacks
As people have said condis will wreck a mesmer. Id also suggest rolling one, at least to level 60, just so you can see how they work. Other than that Cntrl+T will mark the real mesmer until they pop in stealth again. Also look under the health bar for signets and food. Clones will never have either of those and thats what helps me the most when fighting mesmers.

It is annoying a lot of times. I generally cancel it once it gets me fairly close to my target. but ive hit an up leveled for 9k with it before. I two shot him with blade trail and rush.
Yeah before I read that I had already bought some stuff to try out. Went with apothecary armor, runes of altruism and cleric trinkets. Just yellow stuff since I’m tinkering.
Went into WvW with my 30/0/30/10/0 build and, well, it’s not working for me. At all. I rarely use the grenades anyway, since they have a ridiculously long lead time. And I’m dying much faster than I want when I’m outnumbered… I don’t expect to win a 1v3 but I’d like to at least have a chance to escape.
So back to the drawing board. :/ Going to return to 10/0/30/30/0, and go with a much of cleric and soldiers. With rifle. And maybe also use a slot for Elixir S or something as I really seem to have no way of escaping when I’m overwhelmed.
Or maybe just go condition like everyone keeps telling me with something like ellesee’s build: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/external?l=http%3A%2F%2Fgw2skills.net%2Feditor%2F%3FfcAQJAqelIq6ZX3SyF17IRoH2%2F%2BqV0D9bZH%2FpgcB-j0BB4gBkWAk%2BAI%2FsIaslRFRjVPjIqWfETKAmkGB-w
Meh, I spend too much time trying to figure out builds.
Offensive builds tend to perform much better in WvW. Defensive ones take time to kill opponents, and that whole time youre increasing the chance one of their friends or Zerg will show up.
Its why i first recommended this build for you.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/external?l=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DfUoHcJLWjoc
Awesome burst. Awesome mobility. Awesome CC. Awesome condi removal. Tanky as hell.
Ok i thought id give this build a try despite it not being exactly what i wanted, and its awesome! Im using S/SH instead of GS but otherwise its exact. Loving the survivability but good dps. Thanks dude!
It gets that much better with ascended. Im glad you realize 3k armor is plenty high. Most people weight a particular stat way to high when theyre making a build.
Also the more you roam with this and the better you get, you can just completely wreck people. I’ve won multiple 1v4s (against horrible players). My favorite thing to do with this though is roam with a thief or mesmer friend. Stealthed hammer is so OP. my worst enemy to this day with this build tho is D/P thieves. Not the bad ones who pop into stealth every chance they get, but the ones who know how and when to blind you. Youll know if you ever go against one. Its insanely frustrating.
Also something i think i should add. I run perception on hammer and hydromancy on GS. I’ve seen hydromancy crit for over 3k, and the chill is awesome when making an escape or getting a few more hits on 100b. After the new sigil patch ill be running impact(or air, cant decide) and leeching on hammer, with hydromancy/perception on GS.

How is this build for the roaming?
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAS8ejkOpwxQOPMxBEMjroKuMSClQpYO2QA-jgBBYLJLzsIasFXFRjVtATViIq2doIa1A-e
The build i posted has higher toughness, higher crit dmg, higher precision, and higher power. If you like Sw/Sh + ham instead of GS/Ham then use it. If you can’t get ascended yet just use exotic. But I’ve spent hours in the build calculator finding the best effective power vs. effective health.
I’ve found so far that I enjoy being in dungeon-sized groups and also slightly larger ones. For example, I’ve been using my healing bombs to great effect in the “lane defense” portion of the marionette fight, and also on the platforms. I want my healing power high to keep that utility up.
I have little interest in 30v30 WvW zergs. Too much chaos and don’t feel like I make much of a difference.
The only real question is basically apothecary versus cleric. There are so many different factors to take into account, and engineers seem to do so well with both power and CD, that I’m almost thinking I’m better off going with both and just having a little of each, with a bit of vitality added somewhere (maybe a shaman or carrion weapon).
Weapon choice then becomes the big thing. I’d always used P/S but the rifle is growing on me especially for the nice immobilize on #2. If I go conditions though P/P seems the way to go.
I’m currently planning on not going full defense, rather 30/0/30/10/0.
Thanks!
I really do think cleric with rifle for groups. You’ve got lots of CC and immob, on demand stealth, and awesome support. Plus with rifle you get that extra leap through HT (or smoke bomb). I think you were going nades/bombs? I’d strongly suggest TK as your third utility, as pry bar hits exceptionally hard, the #2 helps when running away or keeping people in your bombs, and the #4 is great for survivability. Between bombs, nades, and rifle you should have plenty of dmg as well.
One thing i think would be cool, is how stances in other games worked. Youd get a mediocre buff, but it was permanent. Have them on the f2-f4 with burst still being f1. Endure pain could be like 10-15% dmg reduction. Balanced stance could be control skills have a 20% chance to miss. Zerker stance could be -20-30% condi reduction. Frenzy could be all youre attacks are 25% faster.
You could only have one stance active at once, but with good timing you could “stance dance” and gain benefits from all of them. There could also be various traits to improve and add effects to them.
I spend 50% of my in game time roaming, and the other 50% in a large organized zerg. I need some helpful advice on some builds.
Roaming – Do you recommend a condition, or berserker build and why? Do you have a link to the build you recommend?
Zerging – Which hammer focused build do you recommend as my guild leader strives for us to stick to hammer for the interruptions.
I have these sets currently:
-Rabid, Knight, and Berserker
-300,000 Karma
-400 Badges
-10 Gold
If you just want one build and gear try this.
Awesome burst. Awesome mobility. Awesome CC. Tanky as hell.
But if you don’t mind switching things for roaming and zerging go with condi or the build above for roaming and the standard full soldier Ham+Sw/Wh 10/0/30/30/0.
Hes actually been in the spvp forums for awhile. Probably my favorite dev since he posts ALL the time and actually has good jokes
Dont go into this game thinking itll be like the other games youve played or youll have a bad time.
