Just want to make sure I got it right. Any sized present box = currency, and anything bought with currency. Mystery boxes = minis, tonics, etc?
There’s no chance to get mini’s out of the sized present boxes, right?
Ive opened six and got six sweaters. If its a rare chance at something else I’m cool with that, just reporting in case its broken or supposed to be giving more than 1 item.
Glad to hear this has been fixed! Bring on that patch.
People complaining that someone else got a RNG drop? Give me a break. It’s not like they were handed out, tens of thousands did an event and a few got lucky rolls on their exotics.
I would think that the market crash on precursors means that, yes, they were just handed out.
There are 20 Dusks on the TP and the lowest price is 285g. Clearly they werent handed out at a staggering rate. OH THE HUMANITY.
Some people got them and sold them cheap because they felt it was still a lot of money to them. That is not anything even resembling a market crash.

Like it or not this had to be done. Not because of the people trying to do it for the first time, but the people exploiting it repeatedly for the rewards. Don’t be mad at Arena Net, be mad at them.
I have been effected by this bug since launch. I have never transferred servers, and I am an active participant in WvW. I distinctly remember receiving the buffs in BWEs on the same account. It is very frustrating to find out that I’ve been handicapped for three months because of a game bug without any updates on the matter. I put in a ticket, and the response was to report all bugs in-game (which I had already done).
Does anybody have any more information that I may have missed?
Put in a ticket for this since I feel like its an account issue. Ill let you guys know if I get an answer.
Only thing I could think of is it being BWE related. I was in all the beta events back to press, and when I input my retail code after prepurchase it changed my account #. Thats the only thing that felt odd to me, unsure if it could be the problem.
Thank you for pointing this out, I also commented in the bug thread. I had no idea I wasn’t receiving any bonuses, but just confirmed it by calculating my HP. I too didn’t know you could hit a resource node more than once.
I have never transferred, this is absurd. I shudder to think how much gold/items/exp have I missed out on in my 400+ hours played, or how many times I’ve died when I shouldn’t have!
For anyone with this issue, the easiest way to confirm this is by calculating your maximum HP and see that you arent receiving any increase:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Health
I’m actually incredibly annoyed by this. I didn’t even know you COULD hit a non-rich node more than once! How much have I frickin missed out on!
WOW I didn’t even notice this. So I’ve never been receiving WvW bonuses.. wth? Never transferred once.
Conquest: attack/defend points by standing in a circle.
MOBA: attack/defend points by destroying objectives.
Love one, hate the other. Makes perfect sense, and not irrelevant at all to the point of the thread.
I wonder how long it will take VIP to transfer off Darkhaven now that they got a matchup where they couldn’t be carried by the Night Crew.
It puts conquest to shame, and it was only a semi-balanced minigame for a holiday event.
These are the kind of maps that should be added to the browser! MOBA, Capture the Quaggan, Deathball. We get that you’re trying to keep it simple for balance reasons, but is there any reason why these can’t be browser-only until the kinks are worked out? Seriously, nobody would mind if tournaments had a stricter map cycle if there were more gametypes available.
As it stands right now, I’m thinking that their decision was to use the Keep Lord/Chieftain/Treb to spice the maps up while keeping the same format. I personally don’t feel like it’s enough, and conquest gets old to me after a while regardless of side-objectives.
Yes, its awesome. Screw the haters.
Did they put a timer on them too? I can only get each once ;; Can’t loot new ones.
Never updates to “Strong readings” when you get close to the location like it did in P1. The only one that updated for me was XI, all the others stayed mild.
You don’t have a category for Halloween bug reports

I dont think this post went the way the OP intended.
I also love it, tons of fun.
Costume brawl at every major location has invisible players popping in and out at almost point blank range. Its pretty fun tossing things into empty spaces for multiple +1s.
Hopefully this event is a major step towards prioritizing a culling slider in options^^ It actually seems worse than in WvW.. especially around the forge.
15% x 5 vs 50% x 1… looks like a net buff to me.
Think we’ll be seeing Scepter machine guns now?
It’s the same skill activation time, just the speed of the projectiles is faster.
The activation time was based off when the projectiles hit.. so they are the same thing. Still don’t think scepter will be any good, but I’ll have to try it out again.
Except that Sword #2 is an infinitely better defensive tool than Scepter #2.
Scepter is awful. While it may be fun to see 2500+ pop up in purple occasionally, its novelty. Enemies in PvE won’t attack quick enough to get it to proc twice nine times out of ten, and any other weapon will net more damage because Scepter #1 is bad.
I used to use it in PvP or WvW, but I’m moving away from it. The occasional lulz is outweighed by the utility brought by every other weapon, and it relies on your opponents being idiots.
You don’t help your case when you say elementalist survivability is very poor, considering they’re one of the tankiest professions available with crazy sustain capability. Learn to play, or don’t play.
Flower footsteps, lightning body, metal body, rainbow bullets, etc etc are all well and good. If you don’t like it, you don’t like it. I don’t have a problem with any of the flavors, to each their own.
What concerns me is that they’re not all created equally, as the title indicates. Look at something like the scepter.. which is a faint glow and moving parts. It is nowhere near as distinguishable as the other legendarys. Nice skin, sure. But if I were hoping for one thing for all legendarys to have in common, it would be that WOW effect that stands out. And they don’t all have that.
If we can’t watch cutscenes the first time we do a dungeon, then the terrorists have won
The solution is to stop playing PUGs and play in tournaments. Hot join is just that, and a lot of people only join it to experiment/practice… which you can’t do either by standing on a point.
Not sure how to do this through the proper channels. I thought about sending the screenshots to exploits@arena.net, but that didn’t seem to fit. I reported them all for “scamming” in game, but that doesn’t really do it justice either and it won’t help Nests out in the slightest.
TLDR is these three people kicked the character Nests (clockcleaner.8971) at the end of the dungeon for watching the cutscenes. Happened maybe 15 minutes ago. It was his first time through, and he never got the reward at the end. Even though I wasn’t the one kicked, I saw it coming a mile away and took preemptive action.
While this may not be the proper way about going about this, hopefully Nests can get his reward reimbursed and I can get the information on how to handle this in the future
A.net has already explained at length why there are no named enemies at the end of event chains. In fact, it was a focal point of presentations pre-launch, and something they built they’re entire game around. See if you can figure it out ;p
This thread is nonsense. Do people even realize how short the range is on the portals? You’re not taking 50 people from your keep to a supply camp instantly.. you’re moving people from one side to the other if you’re lucky. Good for quick escapes and surprise attacks by coordinated groups, and available to everyone. Hardly overpowered in any sense of the word.
There is nothing wrong with any of these changes. They’re minor recast nerfs, talk about overreaction.
I just finished my Cursed Shore map completion. Over the course of an hour or so, I feel like I did a ton of events:
I escorted an Explorer(Plix?) and his golem to town in maybe a 3-4 part event. Afterwards, I found an arena event which spawned 3 different veteran packs followed by a Champion. Finished that, then stumbled upon my millionth “Broodmother” event. Killed it. After that, I found an NPC in a Cocoon which spawned a Veteran Spider.. but it was too difficult alone and I ended up abandoning. I wandered around a bit getting various POIs, then defended a camp from a bunch of spiders with what seemed like 15x bots lending a hand. After a bit more exploring, I stumbled upon the Grenth chain and a good sized group of people. I did that entire chain to completion, but failed at what I assume was the last part (Grenth killed the NPC).
I received gold for every single event but one, and got 378 karma for every completion. Did not notice any diminishing returns whatsoever. I reckon this was due to playing correctly, rather than endlessly repeating a single chain in a centralized location.
Necros and Scepter eles counter bunkers pretty good. In fact, there’s another thread in this very section complaining about just that.
Go figure, people complaining about their counters.
Hence why you should kill them
Have some free badges on us. NSP Borderlands, got a couple bots for you to take care of.
Cheers
Mesmer: Clones that confuse baddies.
Guardians: Tough for baddies to kill in their glass cannon specs.
Thieves: Blow up glass cannon baddies before they can react.
It should be no surprise why these classes are being picked. From the scope of 5v5 tPvP, only Guardian has an above-average influence on team success. Everything else is fairly well balanced.
You need to look no further than Guildcast for the proof. 7/8 classes represented and no double-class comps to be found.
That would be the question asked in the OP!
I assume this patch change refers to the Legendary Searing Effigy at the end of one of the explorable paths. One of my fav bosses, sad to see it nerfed. Killed in a pug so I don’t see what was so difficult about it, but whatever.
If anyone runs that path, be sure to let us know what changed!
So in addition to Scepter attacks speeding up the closer you are, there’s also a bug with range. Auto attack will cut off at a certain distance, but if you manually attack you will still hit the target.
With Greatsword, the auto attack cuts off at exactly the spot where you get “Out of range”. With Scepter, theres a good 5 extra steps back where you can manually attack and hit the target. This also goes for Confusing Images(#3), not just #1.
Northern Shiverpeaks has hacked the Orb twice tonight. Same as last week.

I was online for this one. The orb was north, and we pretty much ran up and zerged it legitimately. Ignored the keep, just ran in took the orb and bailed.
Anything that happened before that I wasn’t there for, but sounds like a bunch of excuses. It was taken from the north legitimately, so now that scenario was “set up” with hacks? Give me a break.
You can do cross server dungeons? o.O
Twilight Arbor: Up path (Laurent). Completed 10 minutes ago. Everyone got 60, I got 30. It is my first dungeon run in about ~3ish days, just went for the purposes of science
The Mesmer problem - Defensive Cooldowns + Heavy Damage. One needs to go.
in Mesmer
Posted by: Celeras.4980
Problem with Mesmers, they have all the best utilities from multiple classes on shorter cool downs and in better forms.
Feedback > Wall of Reflection
Blink > Lightning Flash
Decoy > Thief Stealths
Arcane Thievery > Plague Signet + Corrupt Boon
Null Field > Well of Power/Corruption/Purging Flames
Temporal Curtain > Binding Blade
Time Warp > All Quickness (it’s elite yea i guess)
Chaos Armor > All other forms of Protection (Can be used twice, Phase Retreat into Chaos Storm)Seeing the trend here? Their damage and mobility aside (which is heaps better than most), they pack all the good stuff on much much lower cool downs, and they get all of it to pick from.
Not even close to accurate.
-Wall of Reflection lasts almost twice as long as Feedback, and defends a larger area for the same cooldown.
-Arcane Thievery caps at 3 buffs/debuffs, Corrupt Boon hits them ALL and has a longer range.
-Decoy is a straight up 4s single target stealth, compared to Thief’s which are all at least 5s and heal/gives regen/removes conditions/aoe blinds/aoe stealths.
-Null field lasts 3s (not 7 as tooltip says) and only removes conditions(or buffs from enemy), whereas Well of Power lasts longer, removes conditions and gives YOU boons.
-Binding Blade can pull anywhere since it brings to the guardian, whereas Temporal Curtain can only push targets in a single direction once the field is down (ie: completely avoidable if you see it dropped).
I mean, really? Those comparisons aren’t even close. I hope that was an awful troll attempt. People have problems with Mesmers because clones are annoying, Moa is the best 1v1 elite in the game, and portal can blind side you if youre not prepared for it. That’s it.
Looks like the next chain attack starts right after the prior attack hits the target.
Near target -> faster chain?
That’s what it is. The cast bars are exactly the same, but the next swing doesn’t start until you hit the target. That happens faster the closer you are.
Confirmed bugged here, though beware this is a spoiler thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Spoilers-The-Zhaitan-fight-was-extremely-anti-climatic/first#post231934
Bugged to the tune of “he doesn’t do anything”?
If the Mesmer runs away to get a repair kit, the Treb isn’t firing. Mission accomplished.
And you could, you know, not kill it if he preemptively runs for the kit. Or wait for it to be repaired, and force him to do it again. One person on either team cancelling eachother out, meanwhile your enemy has an inactive Treb. We call that strategy.
This game hasn’t even been out a month. The blog post was mentioned last week at the earliest. And yet, here you are. Complaining about how long you’ve been ignored and how obviously, A.net doesn’t care.
That doesn’t seem a bit ridiculous to you?
“i repaired it 3 times.”
Do you even realize that “Treb repairs” is a stat on the scoreboard? You didn’t repair once. Stop making stuff up and talking out your butt.
