I’m under the impression that the Mists merely contain reflections of past events.
So you are saying that that this Asuran, made a mirror (hologram), of the past for players to visit, and magically collect infusion materials?
We are talking about the Mists here.
They’re basically the lore team’s “Do whatever we kitten well please” button.
Combine that with the Asura and you’re good to go.

I’m under the impression that the Mists merely contain reflections of past events.
My Norn has ended up in Lion’s Arch, and belongs to a “nautical” themed guild. His backstory is that he grew in a family of fishermen on one of the inland lakes before migrating to the coast after the Sons of Svanir burned him out.
Perhaps it’s just me, but given a Bear’s preference of “fishing” near water…….would that not mean Bear still fits?
As far as we know they are creatures from way below the waves, possibly the deepest trenches………..the real question, what in the hell else dwells down there slowly being pushed out by the dragon?
I am personally hoping it is given a quest chain like the mad king’s book, but harder to complete. Maybe even make the precursors account bound so you can’t completely buy your way to a legendary.
Before I actively played my story, I thought Logan should go die in a fire. After I played my story up to the parts where Trahearne shows up, I didn’t care about Logan anymore. That guy still deserves to die (permanently instead of in every single encounter with every single mob) but Trahearne is just so much worse.
Basically everything about Trahearne annoys me. They should rather have done the story missions with the (also horribly written) Destiny’s Edge drama club than give us Trahearne.
Geez, I guess I’m really in the minority here. I also like Logan, though I admit, his Queen obsession can be grating at times (though obviously he’s in love with her, so it makes sense from the character perspective).
I liked Logan a bit more as I went further in the story for dungeons……mostly because of the delicious bromance between him and Rytlock. The major flaw I feel stems a lot from the book, while I have not read it, I have heard the book that introduces this conflict was horridly written. It really was a no-win situation for Logan and COULD have been very good, but again from what I have heard the writing betrayed it.
While that’s obviously not the reason for everyone’s dislike of Logan, it is certainly one reason.
And back to my point about presentation, it really does not do Logan any favors either.

One thing to keep in mind is that unless you are a Sylvari, he is literally shoe horned into your story because really the Zhaitan story is very Sylvari focused.
For me, I never felt overshadowed myself. At the same time though, I do not hate but I also do not like him. He had potential for being a interesting character……..but felt rushed, especially for non-Sylvari players.
Unfortunately, presentation has never been GW’s strong point. The plot and lore? Great, but the presentation is where is normally falls apart with exceptions such as Tybalt. Some will tell you otherwise, but even Guild Wars 1 had bad presentation with a few exceptions. Funnily enough, in my opinion Nightfall was the strongest of the stories……..while having possibly the worst character in Kormir.
I’m not sure how in the hell this happened, but as I just got done with the EB jump puzzle minutes ago for the ore nodes I had a shocking experience.
Peace, just peace.
On my way through the puzzle at various points I ran into a large group of tarnished coast players. My first thought was I was screwed, but I went in anyways.
And they left me alone, just let me go on my marry way…….even after I tossed a torch on accident due to auto targeting.
Then I came across a few yak’s bend players.
Same story
Finally I reached fellow CD players…….and some TC and YB players……and still peace.
So figured I’d make this shout out thread to this unspoken truce in the puzzle and ask just one thing:
Why the hell can’t this happen more often!? D;
There was a similar creature in GW Factions.
(Don’t remember the name, can’t find wiki page :/ )
Ah yes the Leviathans, if this is what they are (or at least related to) they’ve come a long way from home, since they reside mainly within the jade sea.
Edit: I found the wiki page here
Strange, I honestly do not remember seeing those. Where exactly in the jade sea could they be found?
The previews on external sites imply they’ve been driven from the depths. So either Bubbles is literally driving them (and controlling them) or Bubbles is using even more fierce creatures to drive the karka to the shores. The latter would not bode well for us.
Especially when you consider just what in the hell other kinds of abominations are down there.
There was a similar creature in GW Factions.
(Don’t remember the name, can’t find wiki page :/ )
I can’t say I remember any enemies that look like the love child of a giant crab and a giant leech.
If they are minions of the dragon, it’s likely they are scouts or the start of a full invasion of Zhaitan’s territory now that he is dead.
I know the order of the whispers rifle has a silencer on it if I recall correctly, but I don’t remember if it looks exactly like that.
There was a few people who didn’t really appreciate the lack of information regarding the halloween event, so maybe they decided to reveal more up front this time and see how that goes.
This is the most likely reason.
Hmm…it is possible they intend to add already existing weapons to other classes….but let’s not hype ourselves up ok?
Just type go to my account, click the new link, then type in their email. Two things will happen, first it will send and then just incase the email was misspelled you will be given the serial code so that you can also give it to them directly.
When that happens, your friend should only need to go the main site and click register. Then they can use their code.
Step 1: Wait till the system actually goes live.
It is live as far I can tell, check “My account”
you can invite a friend from your account …
I can confirm this, go to “my account” and you will find it there.
Agreed, frostgorge is my favorite zone by far.
That being said, I’m glad they gave us Orr first. It gets what, in my opinion, was bound to the worst one just due to the concept of undead swarms.
Now we can get ready to move on the potentially beautiful yet sinister remaining corruptions. We’ve seen hints of it in the dragonbrand and the various corrupted areas in frostgorge. Both keep the sinister corrupted feel and yet are undeniably beautiful at the same time.
KAWAIIKAWAIIDESUNEEEE
and that is what is wrong with this game and the way human females are designed.
Ugh, ok, but what does this kaw…whatever means?
Kawaii means cute
Which is the opposite of this squeaking sound.
Honestly when I hear the squeek it makes me think a puppy is being punched.
Not something I would call cute.
The only centuars I see peace being possible with based on what we have seen of them in GW1 is the Elonian Centaurs. They seem to me to be the only ones willing to work with humans, if only due to returning a favor.
I could see a splinter group of Centaurs inspired by Ventari and the Sylvari however.
If you want another solid justification
Look at the tier 3 asuran heavy armor. Being asuran, do you honestly think such a heavily technological looking suit would not have physical enhancements?
You may as well be a golem with free will in that suit.
(edited by Celestina.2894)
hmm….I assume it only happens when first entering combat right?
“You’re dumb. You’ll die, and you’ll leave a dumb corpse.”
I’ve been testing asuran guardian to see if Iike it enough to actually play outside of the mists (animations, voice etc) but I have never heard that line on my female asuran. Is it male only or something?
(edited by Celestina.2894)
well your original post, more specifically the part where you say “So it’s kind of flawed in my opinion to use that as a sign of the dragons fighting each other.” kinda implied that you meant something like an alliance.
No, I meant we can’t really use that as a sign that they are against each other considering Glint no longer has an allegiance and, as we said, the destroyers were just doing what they do best. Note that I also never said anywhere in there that they had an allegiance.
just an idea but didn’t destroyers attack glint’s egg/children in the callenge mission in GW1 EotN so does this mean all dragons are opposing forces to each other (destroyers minions of Primordus while glint and her offspring would’ve been minions of Kralkatorrik) or just something else?
It’s worth pointing out that Glint was freed from Primordius well before humanity ever set foot in Tyria. So it’s kind of flawed in my opinion to use that as a sign of the dragons fighting each other.
That being said, Anet has implied that the dragons are not at peace with one another and it is very likely they at best tolerate each other, at worst plot against each other.
Glint was freed from Kralkatorrik. Glint never had anything to do with Primordus, or the destroyers.
Sorry meant to say Kralkatorrik, fixing it now.
well if you mean kralkatorrik, your argument makes little sense. after all, the destroyers were attacking Glint, who has nothing to do with them. destroyers come from primordus, and not kralk.
unless you’re somehow implying that primordus was lending kralk a helping hand, which i find highly unlikely.
Makes perfect sense to me, I was saying that just because Primordius attacked her children did not automatically mean the elder dragons were enemies since Glint no longer had any allegiance or link to Kralkatorrik. It was more likely the destroyers doing what they do best, destroy.
which is my point. the dragons aren’t allies. they just destroy everything on their path, which includes other dragons and their minions.
Which is why I never said I disagreed with you.
It is also possible that once invitation goes live on the 12th, download links will be provided in the invites.

People have been posting screen shots of all the tier 3 weapons as they get them. The GS was the first one to be posted.

There is absolutely no source or event hint from Anet that Kuunavang is linked to a Elder Dragon and it is quite silly to think that dragon always equals elder dragon.

CoE proves this wrong.
In the submarine path, there are different minions hanging out but they did not attack each other. They focused on the Inquest hiding behind the shield.
Those minions were originally controlled by Kudzu, with his death they had no master. Think back to GW1 necromancers. When a necromancer died, his or her minions would try to kill everything in sight except each other.

Great thing to add it to the game. Bad timing due to server restrictions and one time event in my opinion. Horrible timing without server adjustments.
Actually, the one time event may be the very reason they are doing this. Potentially leave a even better impression on potential new players.
Here’s an example. The last day for Halloween. You could get a hat reward. if you missed the last day you can still get the hat.
I don’t see them making a one-time reward event anytime soon.
The hat AND the achievement.
Wow.. that was a pretty low blow.
Must’ve been a pretty obscure reference or joke…how was that a low blow?
I was wondering the same thing tbh
It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere.
These threads are created after every patch.Schedule it on a crappy gaming day, like Monday.
Today is Monday
Honestly I am not sure it is ever specified, it would seem a Norn can pray to any spirit for strength and thus receive it’s blessing. The only limitation seems to be if the Spirit judges you worthy or not of their blessing. For example, bear is highly unlikely to bless a son of svanir.
When you make your character, you choose which animal spirit guided you. Then at Level 30, when you can get your first elite skill, the Norn racial elite skill is to transform into your animal spirit (the one you chose, so choose wisely!) The transformation lasts for 2 minutes if I’m not mistaken.
Unless I am mistaken, you can choose every totem transformation.
As far as history knows, only one Mursaat survived the events of the war in Kryta. However, we know NOTHING of the Mursaat’s homeland, the Isles of Janthir. I personally find it extremely unlikely that such an old race would have sent the entirety of their species into war, especially considering they had powerful weapons in their constructs.

I just want to know where the gods went. I mean, they’re friggin’ “gods”, right? So gods vs dragons, they should be able to win, right? And if the gods were present at creation and created the worlds, then…should be a cinch to kill the dragons. Or may be I’m missing something.
Word of Anet states that the dragons are equal if not superior to the Gods.
They also did not create the world if I recall correctly, but they did bring humans to Tyria.

Agreed with Garenthal, honestly the current professions have all the bases covered. Any more would be redundant as all each class needs to fill another option is another weapon.
Hell, right now mesmers can already bend time. Time Warp is the skill you are looking for.
@Garenthal I don’t know….I’m banking on Logan and Rytlock….the bromance is strong there.
So........mesmer pve complains....do they really only apply to Orr farming?

Just thought I’d drop an update. My mesmer is level 19 so far, staff/GS and charr.
Having a blast, more so then with any other profession I have tried.
Make it only work on 1 target?
No, that is a horrid idea. It is fine as is.
well obviously, it’s only their skin that’s invisible, so when the skin rots, the visible skeleton appears.
LIEK, TOTALLY.
I like this theory
Have not bothered to read replies as I am feeling lazy and I find myself in a snarky mood….
Go punch a redwood tree, tell me how it goes.
I’ve heard both of those so far actually.
Come on, we are the most beat up class in the game! Nerf, nerf, nerf, jus’ about every update. The problem isn’ with Thieves, it’s about the renderin’ on stealth an’ we ain’ the only glass what has stealth skills. Get off our backs already, we need ta stay a playable glass for goodness sake.
Did you just type in Dwarf speak?
More posts need to be in Dwarf speak
I make basically only female characters because I find that, when the armor is not kittenty at least, it looks superior to the male version. I also tend to prefer female hair styles over males.
That being said, I have yet to make a human character. Only norn, sylvari and charr (female charr have a sleeker look, which I prefer)
