AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
WHAT THE KITTEN?! A PATCH ON RESET AND NOW IT WON’T LET ME LOG IN!
Roaming from the last few weeks.
Nice mini-pet. Wish I could activate certain effects off my mini-pet too.
You know, I’m not real happy about the removal of the stun breaker from Elixir R. Skills become less desirable for general use when only the toolbelt or slot part of the skill is useful. We see this happen with so many other engineer skills: Goggles only for Analyze, Rifle turret only for the extra shot, Rocket Boots only for the rocket kick. Most people will chose a different skill that provides more VERSATILITY, more EFFICIENCY (like why kits will always beat gadgets). Elixir R has good utility for both the slot and toolbelt as-is. Post-patch, Elixir R will only be worth to take for the toolbelt. If engineer was a bit heavy on elixir stun breakers, they should remove it from U since they had recently added it to U. U still has good utility in both toolbelt and slot effects without the stun breaker.
Re. Dakittenation. I love it! Good one.

Check out www.fort-aspenwood.com where lots of FA guilds have recruitment threads. If you are engineer, check out NERF.

It’s no fun if they don’t fight in the nude.
Engineers are somehow the Jesters of Versatility (I didn’t make that up). Who else has a ram’s head that shoots out from the belt with a pelvic thrust?
This guy
Definitely watched by Anet dev making the engineer… LOL!

WOW muguuma you are such kittens…. we are leaving you alone on DB BL and you decide to first spawn camp us and kill people running supply. Then you go ahead and take hills when we weren’t even attacking you. You guys really need to learn meta… yes I am angry So tonight when you go to sleep I hope you enjoy having your BL colored RED! Your lack of strategy and meta, as well as kittenry is appalling.
Well, I guess it is time to stop leaving Maguuma alone on DBBL. And here I thought they were upset that FA wasn’t attacking DB in some instances.
Fort Aspenwood has a good-sized Oceanic group and a great community. You can find the FA Oceanic guilds at www.fort-aspenwood.com.
Fort Aspenwood has a good-sized Oceanic krewe and you can find them if you go to www.fort-aspenwood.com. If you’re mesmer, I highly recommend AVTR.
Westwood,
You’d be able to guest over for joining dungeons and stuff (and not WvW), but you would also not receive any other guild-related benefits such as access to a guild bank or active guild buffs unless that guild has that upgrade on your home server. If you end up being the only guild member on AR, you’d be wholly responsible for doing any influence earning and guild upgrades. This fact is why the engineer-only guild NERF recruits only now on our home server Fort Aspenwood. It is better IMHO, bc of the way cross-server guilds are not supported by the game, to join a guild on your home server or transfer.
Calling all Fort Aspenwood engineers to join the [NERF] Fort Engineer guild!
We are a WvW/PvX guild with the number one rule: have fun. Our number two rule: be silly. Being a NERF member means looking for the good fights, trying to facetank larger numbers, and then chasing the enemy while transformed as candy corn or running low level alts naked through Orr for the lolz. Being NERF also means having a non-chalant attitude towards the game.
We do not require 100% representation, although our core members are dedicated in repping. We run havoc in WvW or work on supply runs to upgrade and siege up towers (Engineering a Better Borderland). We run dungeons or fractals together. We have guild bounties and guild treks and enjoyable guild chat. We have players who main engineers and players who main other professions with an engineer alt. Our bond is in the good times we have together and interest in the engineer class. We use the FA community Teamspeak server, have access to a private TS server, and have a Facebook group.
NERF began on a whim as a yellow book for engineers across all Tyrian servers. Since that time, a core membership developed who enjoy playing together and are now seeking for NERF to be more than just a phone book. New membership is now limited to Fort Aspenwood players only (existing non-FA members will remain). If you are interested in transferring, please pm me here or in-game.
AlphaDelilas,
Please look at your home server guilds first. We have a community website at www.fort-aspenwood.com that has a lot of FA guilds listed. I lead a cross-server guild and know that if your guild is not upgraded on your home server, you will not receive any guild benefits like access to the guild bank or guild magic find buffs if you merely guest. If you are an engineer, you are always welcome to join [NERF] Fort Engineer.
Use XP boosters. Run with a zerg that caps everything rapidly. Do the Personal Story. Speed run CoF.
Oh yea, and there’s food for mitigating stun too: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bowl_of_Roasted_Lotus_Root
Well, there’s not much in the way of non-elixir stunbreakers for engineer unless you’re willing to self-stun with rocket boots or willing to fit in goggles. Lacking a stunbreaker, you have to mitigate being stunned. I know you want to get away from Alchemy, but for 10 in it Protection Injection is awesome for mitigation. Beyond that you’d have to go full into toughness and other boons that mitigate any damage you’d take while being stunned.
As far as non-elixir boons go, a 20 in Explosives nets you three stacks of might when using a heal skill.
At least Ehmry Bay has respectable groups who don’t engage you when they see you 1v1(except that kitten Rekz d/d ele who waited for me to stomp an FA at 3k health before stomping me).
Wait, whut? Sounds like that ele was kind enough to not bring more people and wait until you were done with your first 1v1. LOL!
FA’s fairweathers are also going to come out of the woodwork, so enjoy those tasty bags =D
That map completion and leveling alts. Ran into a PvE player last night on FABL who gave me their siege blueprints. XD
Trololo! The complaints about PvD started already? The tiers were formerly about WvW population and coverage. What was to be expected when a T2 server gets in a matchup with a T5 server? FA is kitten ed if you do, kitten ed if you don’t.
OMG yes! A fix to cursor visibility would be awesome!
People should be able to use a skill and receive some consequence as a result of that use. But wouldn’t you agree that if the consequence was greater than the initial attack, it could be considered unbalanced?
If you don’t want to nuke yourself, then attack slower, don’t attack at all, or strip boons. I like retaliation and it’s function. I don’t want to see it changed. I personally don’t run a build that gives me retaliation, but I also never felt like I lost a fight because someone had retaliation up. If I ever died and the person that beat me just happened to have retaliation up during the fight, it just means the same thing if the player didn’t have retaliation up; I was outplayed. Retaliation adds more depth to combat and I appreciate that level of complexity.
The problem isn’t retaliation itself. I use retaliation and like using it. The problem is in the way it processes on multi-hit channeling skills that do not allow a player to “attack slower”. If you ever attacked a group with a multi-hit channeling skill that just happened to have the retaliation boon shared (not a complex thing to do), you would not feel like you should have just taken the time to hunt for the few people in the group with retaliation to strip boons or attacked slower (impossible to do with those skills). You learn rather quickly the current solution is to just not use that skill. That’s a game design issue. ArenaNet didn’t make skills just so people would not use them.
Notice that most of the suggestions are to not use Barrage or any other high-hit-number channeling skill. That’s a problem with the game design, not the player.
“I’ll be winning a fight by a clear health margin”
Guardian with a clear health margin? Your health regen is OP.
OP? No, considering that a hammer warrior can do much the same thing as supply crate, only more efficiently.
Only idiots would remain in the Crate’s radius once it landed. Gives you a strong guess at what most of the Engi’s victims are.
I rather explicitly stated that the CC wasn’t the issue here, multiple times…
Just sayin’.
And none of those quoted comments have to do explicitly with the CC.
OP? No, considering that a hammer warrior can do much the same thing as supply crate, only more efficiently.
Ummm, don’t put TC in the some group of stupid that FA is in. TC protects their home yes, but they don’t do it to the point that it becomes a detriment like FA does. You could literally send a group of 20 people over to FA’s home BL, and just have that group to charge at the 60-80 man zerg that shows up to stop them while you take everything else they have on any other map.
Stop. Just stop.
Embarrassing.
Yea. Just a different group of stupid…
The new Oil Mastery skills are highly ironic because they’re some of the same buffs that Mortar needs. Oil puts a player within AoE range and when you’re trying to use Mortar from the top of a wall, you pretty much have the same range/placement as Oil Thus the same problems that discourage players from using Oil also discourage players from using Mortar (grenades end up being a better choice in many instances). The Oil Mastery skills try to provide incentive to players to stand at Oil and take the punishment. Mortar needs similar love.
Oil Mastery skills:
- Increases burning oil radius by 25%.
- Increases burning oil damage by 15%.
- Grants protection to the player and oil cauldron when the player is using the cauldron.
- Burning oil damage removes 1 supply from enemies.
- Skill 3, Burning Shell: Creates a fiery dome that reflects projectiles for 10 seconds.
Mortar needs:
- Increased radius and damage on #1 skill (rocket turret does more damage than an elite turret?)
- Increased range to put it out of melee/mid-range damage or toughness and HP so it can stand up in a melee/mid-range fight and not die before a player can get a second shot off.
- Some sort of method for dealing with melee-range attacks. Protection? Fire Shield?
Nice! The engineer class has access to so many fields and finishers that players would do well to learn them.
Well, “next patch” wasn’t the right answer!
I would use it more if the throw mine effect was a knockdown rather than a launch.
Why’s that? Launch is awesome!
I’d say arrow carts killed BT.
Some of these bug fixes (Throw Mine, deleted bombs) made me go, “Well I never knew!”
Use stealth trap. Trolololo!
Fort Aspenwood just pulled into second place from a 13k deficit. That’s Fort Aspenwood!

I love my shield! I try to remember to use #4 for reflection too. Gotta love watching a ranger fire away without realizing what’s happening…
GW2 Drupal module
Just proof of concept so far.
I’m more than happy to have a co-maintainer. Primarily it’s a wrapper for pulling game data into a Drupal website.
Oh this is neat! I’ve started a Drupal module to integrate with this API. It’s a sandbox project.
Time to start an escort service… like good ol’ GW1 where people ran low levels through higher level areas.
Haha! Only now getting on the forums and seeing this. That was too funny, escorting you naked through Orr!
Gaviston,
The real problem seems to be the amount of people who understand the difference between tactics and strategy; their numbers are small. Even less is the number who can apply the differences.
Holy hell this is still anyone’s game.
GOO TC GOO!
everyone except fa
FA has already won the battle of ugliest server.
FTFY
xD
Just comes off kind of amateur…
Haha, I think it was just a friendly jab.
Somehow I expected something more witty, is all. Shrug.

So um… on a related hitbox note, I dropped Supply Crate on an unmanned ballista with no nearby thing to aggro, fully expecting it to start attacking the ballista. Did nothing. Flame Turret just sat there and looked at the thing. Have it on video.
Thieves will actually be great for this, go into stealth and trigger the traps before the zerg with veil runs in.
