Learn all the AoE combos. Seriously. We’re the most efficient class at it. Anet even made us another blast finisher on the elixir gun recently.
I think I’ve noticed that sometimes it doesn’t.
Event occurred on the Kaineng Borderlands WvWvW map (blue) on 3/5 right before 10:32pm server time. Camp was owned by Fort Aspenwood (red).
Last night at Stargrove in the middle of battle to defend it, a few camp guards spawned as enemies. I have it on film. You see the guards spawn as red while I’m standing in the middle of the camp, you see the event to defend the camp and the supply caravan, you see the guild supervisor as ally. Will attach video later today.
Not sure what you’re talking about. We had the supply camps. You had to take them back. Probably should’ve done more of it rather than take back briar…
We got ’em for the tick, while we were on. You guys certainly got them a few times… kudos to ya. Our seven man group was running around at every sign of swords. Briar was cause we were bored, tbh.
Oh silly. The tick was ours while we were on. You tried to get them back from us right before the tick and you certainly got them back after the tick. Even had an SoS group try and fail. Good times and good fights. Thanks everyone.

Extra credit goes to the FA pugs who were determined to take back our supply camps and kept us running around the map like madmen.

And to think, this whole TC/FA thing started with a couple of dolyak RP’ers…. Score update please?!
The music has just the right vibe for the tone of this guild!
Sounds like you just met 100nades.
Bravo! Glad you guys shared this with us.
Ran Sorrow’s Embrace (don’t recall which path) with 3 engineers, 1 guardian, and 1 mesmer. The player on guardian would actually back up to the choke points and let the engineers do area denial properly bc he was familiar with engineer strengths. The run went pretty fast! Most of us were using bombs and grenades.
If you’re getting kicked from dungeon groups bc you are an engineer, then you really need to go find some other engineers to join you in the dungeon.
Thiefz,
You can always start a recruiting drive on SoR. If you don’t have guild invite permission yet, that will change.
New video from new member. Enjoy!
New video from a new member on what it is like to roam with NERF. Check OP for updates.
Accelerant-Packed Turrets YES!
The Jan. 28th patch made turrets much nicer now that player condition stats apply to turrets…
Fort Aspenwood has EU players, just not enough. Remember GW1 when this was not such an issue? Live it again by coming to Fort Aspenwood!
I’m Sylvari. I used Take Root a lot before I could purchase Supply Crate. The Sylvari turrets are like engineer turrets: their AI sucks. They aggro everything in the area. It was real annoying, but I have to say the few seconds of invulnerability you get while taking root is real nice. Saved my eggplant butt more than a few times…
20 points in Explosives for Accelerant-Packed Turrets…. Yep, sounds like a NERF engineer!
Bump it, bump it, bump it! We have cookies and looney tunes.
Please post this in the bugs forum.
I’ve been hit and downed while using Elixir S on the rare occasion. I always attributed it to lag, but maybe it is a bug.
One of the best sites I saw was a group of 5-10 engineers taking a camp and then all dropping their turret things. I was the sole person watching, so they were just doing it for fun probably, but it was still pretty impressive to see so many turrets.
(it was a couple of weeks ago and I don’t remember the server or guild tag)
Yea, that could of been us on one of our first outings.
Maybe something like this for group healing and condition removal: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQJAqelIqicX3ShF17IxoCdO0D8bYBL6xjpsjB
To handle more than 1 opponent for WvW, ensure you have a build with AoE skills. And build for Toughness.
Haha, Elixir X: the new troll
Maybe I am a hobo, trolling for bags of loot. Gonna go make some mulligan stew now.
Right. Stacks only ever count as one boon, which is good news for boon-stripping skills (removes all stacks!).
AFAIK only elite Mortar grants good stability, which obviously is not going to cut it in the middle of open field battle.
Oh, I think shield #4 blocks any knockback hits.
Throw Mine has the boon stripping and knockback which you can’t do with a grenade. Plus it is a blast finisher. I wouldn’t say I’d choose Throw Mine over Grenade kit. They complement each other though.
I used goggles a bit before too for the Analyze toolbelt skill and that worked well in lots of 1v1 situations. I don’t think one could get by with a mostly gadget build though.
Haha! Great image. That face!
Nice. I havent used that skill in a long while. Must try it again.
When you want boon stripping and knockdowns in melee, the slot is not wasted. Doing the unexpected with skills, like not using a trap skill as a trap, is what leads to new and effective tactics. And lots of loot bags. This is not to say that the trap skill can’t also be used like a trap, only to say that it can be more.
It almost seems to be more useful to throw it directly at people rather than place defensively.
Bingo!
Logging off for tonight… Good luck Fort Aspenwood!
Fort Aspenwood is trying to recruit SEA/EU guilds who are interested in playing in T2 from any and all servers and we’re willing to provide assistance with the transfer.
Fort Aspenwood is a good group of non-professional gamers!
ooOOoo I forgot that the toolbelt mines also remove boons… Thanks for reminding me!
I recommend that you do not rely upon their proximity detection detonation.
The hardcore WvWvW Fort Aspenwood guilds are actively involved in team building by providing open nights, server community forum and teamspeak server, and wvwvw training, help, and coordination. This thread to attract people to fill a gap in timezone coverage is but a reflection of their team building efforts.
Love your video, Kardiamond!
Yes, I use Throw Mine. I had to try it because it seemed unloved. It’s been great and the bugs are not difficult to work around. I use it as a boon-stripping knockback grenade. It will explode if you throw it near enough to the target. Works well in combination with bomb kit and explody supply crate turrets.
If winning T3 three weeks in a row were enough for getting to T2, that’d be wonderful. Too bad the rating system doesn’t work that way.
Try Throw Mine and Supply Crate with Accelerant-Packed Turrets.
I really hope anet doesnt go around nerfing everything based on every little complaint when it is only a matter of developing counter tactics. Oil is quite effective against a golem rush and scouting is proactive.
Elixir X is best used underwater. Wish that Rampage could be traded for Plague when not underwater…
All invites have now been sent. Welcome!
The best part of playing an engineer is being underestimated.
“How to make the Engineer more popular”
Post awesomely hilarious videos. Million-man luggage drop.
Too many serious gw2 videos. Not, this one is.
Toolbox,
The build I’m running in that video is detailed on the NERF facebook page. I think Eijofor was running that build too for the video. Others were using other builds. Gremmil tends towards conditions and Tracille has a rather spvp build afaik.
I’m guessing what happened last time was you didn’t read your mail either.
That can happen if you have too many messages. Delete your old messages! Happens to me too sometimes.
