Sorry, I went for looks rather than damage. Not meant to showcase my skill (or lack thereof). More to showcase running with a bunch of other crazy engineers. Traited for elixir-infused bombs, btw. Spam them to heal and damage anyone and everyone.

Also, with the Accelerant-packed Turrets trait, they explode & knockback when killed, so I don’t care if someone stands in the middle of them and whirlwinds.

So, so true. If I magnet someone into our group in WvWvW, shouldn’t I get a loot baggie too? No, it goes to everyone else around me who put out the damage yet they wouldn’t have had that opportunity if not for my magnet.

Yes, basically. Given the current state of turrets, treating them more like mines is the way to go.
Pistols allow 2 sigils to be used, rifle one, so the rifle should have a higher base damage because of this when using a kit.
Supposedly those sigil effects are halved though when using a one-handed weapon so both weapons need two of the same sigil to equal a single sigil on a rifle. Caveat: it’s something I saw mentioned elsewhere and don’t know or have tested personally.
If your play preference focuses on wanting to put out serious damage, don’t play an engineer. Simple. Engineer is built for crowd control and conditions. Engineer has to go through extreme contortions to focus on damage which means you lose out on the strengths: crowd control and conditions.
you misunderstand. Not in same guild as me. These are other players in same guild, on different servers, working together in wvw to kill players, and cap point. As well as I suspect they trade off killin each other for the honor tokens. Take the time to look at the pictures posted before you respond please.
This is as ridiculous as if I were to complain that single-server guilds are working together to kill players and cap points in WvWvW and so should be banned from it for a week.
NERF is a cross-server guild with members who participate in WvWvW. Our primary mission is to act as a clearinghouse for engineers. Why should our members be punished if they want to transfer servers just because you think there’s a guild trying to gain some advantage in WvWvW? And ultimately, banning cross-server guilds from WvWvW does NOT prevent the activity you are so concerned about.
Now water field combos are OP?! Oh lordy don’t let the Engineers hear about this…
I treat turrets in WvWvW more like mines and handy blast finishers. Requires at least 20 into Explosives.

Engineer has revive pulse with Toss Elixir R. Engineer can self-rally quickly out of the downed state if using it. That may be why engineer downed state is weakest.
We should all start spamming gears in WvWvW so that they get removed quicker. Let’s make it fun and strip before spamming gears at each other.

All servers have an equal potential to have the rare individual “discover” a consumable for use in WvWvW and set off the back and forth kitten for-tat. Playing this blame game though is not going to solve the issue of people abusing the game mechanic.

Turrets are made to be destroyed! And if they don’t get destroyed, they annoy the heck out of people.

People hate on us on forums because we have either
A) kitten them in wvw with half their numbers
You forgot C, kitten them with 2x their number. At least that’s been my personal experience, like that time two nights ago or so when I witnessed at least 7 of you plus 1 or 2 from another guild camping in EB JP and beating up on 2 to 3 of us. So I most definitely am missing these amazing 5-man OG v. zerg fights AND the 1v1 fights that get crowed about so much. Wrong timezone or something? I can only assume that the reason 30 FA came to clean you up in the JP was because you were ganking the solo jumpers with superior numbers first. This is not to say that I am taking issue with camping the JP, only that OG actions have been speaking much louder than any words posted on these forums.

Number 2 would be nice but I’m not sure I like the other suggestions. NERF has been having success using turrets in WvWvW. It’s all about turning your weakness into your strength. Our tactic requires turrets to die rather quickly…
We got our first video! It isn’t much, just seven of us melting a supply camp and a massive crate drop. You can see the quaggans aggro the turrets and get knocked back from the accelerant. Onto bigger fights.

Since they’re fun, lets just give my mesmer the ability to chain stun 5 opponents indefinitely so I can spread the FUN without spending money.
Oh I like that. They should add stun to Static Discharge while they’re at it. That would be mega-fun.

Last night the Fort Aspenwood NERF Krewe mustered a 7-man team to practice our skills and develop our fighting abilities. We had a lot of fun busting heads, learning combos, melting camps, and causing general mischief. Of course we took a screenshot!

For PvE – berserker’s, always.
They synergy between P/Pri/CriD is too good, the amount of damage you give up equipping any other armor stat is massive. More toughness/vitality won’t save you anyway, all it does is let you be a little more sloppy with your dodges or active defenses.
I don’t PvP, maybe toughness/vit has a place there, I don’t realy know.
In WvWvW you don’t have dodges or active defenses against 20+ people. I think the game drops a hint when P/V/T is the only WvWvW specialized armor option.
This is why Megermma is better than your servers. Guild NOVA in charge of porting in JP; Pro Cmdrs leading JP zergs; Lewd Rezs. Also Anet employees waiting for JP ports. Hi to nice uD and OBEY FA guys that actually 1v1ed me before other FA ruined it.

I have a mish-mash of temple armor at the moment and have been recently thinking of switching to Invaders (basically Soldiers) because I spend so much time in WvWvW and like being a tank.
Two-handed shield? Ouch!
This is nothing new in large battles.
Let me know how it goes. I’m thinking of switching to Protection Injection in place of Self-Regulating Defenses.
I found the most fun in WvW is dropping a supply crate filled with 4 accelerant packed turrets into the heart of a Zerg and just wait for the fire works!
LOL! I heard something like that happened, only it was 3 or 4 engineers with the same build dropping accelerant packed turrets. I wish I could’ve been there.

This is my WvWvW Group Support Build. It is a tanky condition removal and healing build that came about basically due to the Jan. 28th patch that applies player stats to turret conditions/boons.
Since the basis of combat engineering is group support, I’ve been running with this build in WvWvW. It is primarily group healing and condition removal.

This build has quite a few group-supportive combos and also helps somewhat with point defense. I like to play tanky as it helps me stay standing up in a battle in order to help the group heal, pick up downed players, etc. This build is also pretty good when you are running back to your group solo because all the condition removal and healing works on you too. Toss Elixir R at your feet if you are about to go down to self-rally.
I may switch out self-regulating defenses though because I find that I’m popping Elixir S in the middle of trying to lay a healing turret and detonate it for area heal.
I recently suggested Accelerant-packed turrets to some fellow engineers trying a slightly different build (point defense for wvwvw) and I hear they ended up playing pinball with the enemy lol. If the turrets are not going to last in battle, use that as a strength rather than a weakness and pack them with explosives! The jury is still out on Metal Plating if you plan to be expending turrets like that. I haven’t played enough with the build to opine much on it.
I’ve been using the healing turret a lot in my group support build and placement is definitely key to the use of turrets.
The rifle turret and the healing turrets are expendable sheep, ESPECIALLY the healing turret, that thing gets blown up almost as soon as the water field it creates shows up so i not only get the launch but i get the aoe water field heal. The rifle turret i try to keep around a bit longer, but when i need the launch it gets thrown under the buss as well.
Flame turret is a weird one, i put that on the point, however it does pretty well at staying alive especially when you include the overcharge which gives blindness making it harder for them to hurt you, or the turret, and in a worst case scenario you can blow it up for stealth.
The Amulet i use is Carrion, and my traits are 20/20/30/0/0 with accelerant packed turrets, the 5% dmg when endurance isn’t full, hair trigger, napalm specialist, Metal Plating (turrets take 30% less damage), Elite Supplies, and Rifled Barrels.
With Elite Supplies the Supply Crate has a guaranteed 9 bandages and 4 turrets (flame, net, rifle, healing) all of which gain your 15% damage increase and 30% dmg reduction, and when killed blow up launching anyone on the point off of it.
Weapon is p/s, with corruption and regeneration sigils (health on kill).
The roles i normally do are Backpoint defense (or backpoint pusher if they have a bunker that we know i can man handle off the point), and Trebuchet (such an OP position for turrets, they can take glassy people down to half before they get up the ramp).
