Seems a bit unfair to all the Veteran players that this has been down for 7 months, and no one at ANET has gotten around to putting it back in the game. I did play the Beta this weekend of Heart of Thorns……meh, not really impressed thus far with HOT.

I could care less about the skins but I just would like the pets put back in the HOM (black widow, black moa, white raven, rainbow jellyfish.)

It’s been about 4 months… not 7

The problem now is…people like me who earned GW1 achievements and worked hard for them, can’t get them. Apparently its been shut down altogether. My ranger would like her pets also, skins and weapons.

We’re all in the same boat. Those of us who played gw1- linked it to our gw2 accounts.
Supposedly next release we’ll get something.

Don’t mention guard they only have burn as damaging condition.

So does ele… (if an ele stacks burns they can’t bleed you and if they try to bleed you, lol, ele bleeds are extremely underpowered and you can’t stack burning while you try to bleed).

Nerfing burning is okay, but if you nerf ele they’ll go back to being a joke of a class again like they were for 1 year before celestial amulet was updated.

Even after this whole huge balance and feature patch, ele STILL only has a single build, the same build they’ve been using since the game was released.

Eles will always be either borderline op or a free kill depending on balancing as long as Arenanet refuses to finally rework ele defenses (they have and need all that sustain because they have no block, no stealth, no evade spam, all they have is boons as defense).

um what? Ele has had many builds, yah sure some aren’t going to be as good as D/D but it’s not their only build. Ele has access to bleed so no ele doesn’t just have burning.

1. If you count all the unviable stuff as “builds” than every class has about 2 million different builds now, which of course is dumb, so we don’t do that. We use the word build in pvp for stuff that is actually viable. Which for ele, has been the same thing since the start of the game, arcane/water/earth cantrips. Just switching 2 points from earth to air for a different boon on auras doesn’t make it a new build, just a VERY slight variation of the same meta build.

2. Read what I said: ele has either bleed or burn, never both at the same time. And bleeds don’t have a single trait so they might as well not exist for eles.

Almost every class has only one, or maximum two viable builds in competitive scene.
For Ele, having 2~3 is good enough. Those 2~3 are also the top or close to the top of the food-chain builds, while some of the other classes only have inferior builds that’re sub-optimal compare to any of the Ele or Mesmer’s builds.

Classes like ranger has 0 viable build for 1.5 year in competitive scene proven by WTS, TOL, and ESL. (your opinion do not matter, those 3 examples are hard evidence) Now they’re getting even worse because Anet feel like nerfing ranger more.
You Ele already enjoyed 1.5 year of being at the top of food chain, now you absolutely become the God of all classes and you’re complaining you’re UP?

Spoiled classes are spoiled. They know nothing about how harsh some of the bottom classes feel all these times and continue to spread out misinformation of how UP they are.

Compare ele before april 15th buff for them, eles have a reason to be “Spoiled” they were worse than ranger :P

Sucks 4 ranger that anet doesn’t know what to do with them, that doesn’t mean ele needs nerf or people cant defend ele. Burning needs (a tiny tiny tiny nerf) though & I’m an ele. When I face other eles, down to the wire their burning when it stacks high is a pain. But not detrimental to the fight most of the time.

Are you even sure you were kicked because of necro? Maybe you were kicked because low AP, not being 80, or play/act like a noob, and you just happen to be a necro.

I honestly have not seen any necro being kicked just for being necro, exclude those with obvious bad builds for dungeon(hint: MM necro).

AP points are NOT a way to judge skill and frankly I laugh at that.

I think a friend uses it purely to guess how long they’ve been playing. :P

Yeah, AP doesn’t mean much- I’ve been playing since headstart & just got 11k ap.
I’ve seen terrible 20k ap players. Judging someone based on AP is like judging someone just bc they walked through the door.

I really like the monk outfit & possibly bringing back old armors from GW1 & making them outfits(?). GW1 has some of the most beautiful armor skins, even still better looking than most GW2 armor skins. (in my opinion)

I’ve never kicked a necro out of the party nor have I been kicked for being a necro, but if it says speedrun & they are a minion master or full terror/condi, there’s a problem.

Just pay attention to the titles of lfg parties

i find it useful for my condi engi in wvw, but whats the point of having an elite if youre going to nerf it?

I remember when the bug 1st came out, I noticed it immediately & ppl thought I was crazy.

They run like the male animation now. If I wanted my char to run like a human male I’d make a human male. There wasn’t anything wrong with their animation before & I still don’t know why it was changed.

I’d imagine they have a team or something on it, it obviously is easier said than done fixing HoM. They have to take the ap/titles away from users who don’t actually have accounts linked, not to mention make sure that nothing bad happens to the accounts that have experienced this bug and make sure this doesn’t happen again.
But a status update on the situation would be more than appreciated.

I hope they fix this with resilience, i’d rather it be completely fixed & them take the time to ensure this doesn’t happen again VS a quick fix that would leave tons of loopholes.
That being said, I am waiting for them to fix it. I have been playing gw1 in my spare time & have almost gotten all of my HoM points but cannot actually reap the rewards in GW2 which is somewhat blah.

Make necros the masters of conditions. Alongside engi, who is still better than necromancers with the condition spec. Does that bother you anet? Just wondering because it’s still unclear your goal for necromancer. Do you want necros to be mindless power necros? I know it probably won’t be HUGE changes, just more “adjustments”
But Alot of us are curious as to know what you think of necros & where you want them in terms of build/condition specs

The only thing that should stay exclusive is the PvP tribal/wolf ranked skin- it was only available before the wardrobe changes if you pvp’d & were able to get wolf rank. Ranks were harder to get then, so it was a sense of accomplishment when you got a rank related skin. Nowadays, any sort of casual can waltz in & get rank 80 so I’m hoping the tribal armor stays exclusive to the people who earned it.

When it comes to the “rabbit ears” or “wizard hat” maybe have a cycle of them every once in a blue moon. But the wizard hat was offered freely before the wardrobe changes on the 1st wintersday. It looked awful & there wasn’t anyway to store your skins so you either wore it or allowed it to take up space for so long. I wish I had never deleted my wizard hat. But that’s my fault.

Hello! it’s something I wondered when the new, beautiful lion’s arch was released earlier- if the missions that involved the setting to be lions arch had changed. Well, no they haven’t! the mission “Setting the Stage” & all of the other missions that involve LA as the location include the old, damp lion’s arch. It’s like a twilight zone xD

Do I have to remake a new account in order to play HoT? Is it two seperate codes, one for Gw2 the other for HoT to upgrade my current existing GW2? How much content is the actual HoT & do we get housing this time?
When in kitten is the release date because NOONE gives a flying kitten about HoT betas anymore.

My only question is, and whoever can answer this just send me a pm; If I buy HoT since it comes with the core GW2, are HoT & the GW2 core seperate? Is it a download/code sent through an email or is it going to be a CD that I need mailed to me? Is HoT itself just an upgrade that I can add to my current GW2 or do I have to make a completely seperate/new account in order to play it when it is released?

I just want a stand alone HoT upgrade for the gw2 core game I already have. I don’t need anything fancy. Just some logic. Owait from anet that’ll cost 50$

There is no entitlement. But for those of us who have already owned gw2, payed 50-75$ for an entire game are having to buy the entire game again + HoT expansion for 50$ which is a slap in the face. There is no stand alone version of just HoT to buy. You have to re-buy the entire game + HoT. Atleast in GW1, the expansions itself were entire games & it was worth the extra 30-40$ bc you were automatically given an extra char slot. (except for eye of the north. )
We don’t really even know if 50$ for HoT is even worth it. Anet is just money hungry & it shows. They don’t give players who already own gw2 the option to just buy the HoT “expansion”.

You DO need to know what the proper rotation of skills for staff are. It helps alot & becomes 2nd nature. Earth2→ fire2 – for might | Air static/gust – stuns/KB’s | Water = healing, Ice = chills | Earth = immobilize

Of course there are proper times to use X skills, but what sounds better to you? Winging it just bc you think so VS. Actually knowing & why

I don’t think it should be reintroduced. Imagine actually working for the armor, when pvp wasn’t so casual friendly then after all the balance changes, some 20 point ap casual strolls into pvp, facerolls a few matches & gets the skin. That’s a slap in the face to those who pvp’d long b4 the wardrobe changes & earned it. Back then it was called Wolf ranked Armor. Maybe if you play actual ranked matches & get a very exclusive title you should be able to unlock the track to the tribal armor. But it shouldn’t be a walk in the park.

it’s like ivy’s sword from soulcaliber – I wish the outfit wasn’t so hulky & was a little slimmer on humans. WELL, atleast an outfit looks better on charr & asura than humanoids for once.

I’ve played since headstart & don’t remember seeing that outfit ever, there was a leaf outfit that is now a tonic- basically the town clothes for sylvari. There are alot of npc faces & outfits we still don’t have that anet promised would NOT be exclusive.. Yet, they are.

If it’s a bad staff ele, I’d imagine they would die in a few seconds. Esp if they are all signets- that’s just no sense…. I main an ele & I get irritated @ other eles quite often. A good player knows how to play their build & knows when to adjust it for any fight. I run staff or scepter/dagger depending on the situation in fractals.

A bad ele IS one that never switches attunements, even if it’s every once in a while, that ele understands why they need to switch attunements.. one that never switches thinks they can just faceroll & have their team carry them. I’d jump & dance on their body if they were that casual.

I’ve voted to kick mainhand staff necros that use fear on wrong situations & have fear as a trait when they get hit , minion necros bc minion AI should be like ranger pets but it’s not. A necro who uses plague form instead of lich, I’ve voted to kick & I have no regrets. It made things run smoother

I think the bunny ears & Wizard hat/aviators should be reintroduced as a flash sale or something! I deleted my wizard hat back when skins were only town based & not wardrobe & all skins took up space so ppl would sometimes delete them….

they have it traited for their turrets to last abit longer – otherwise engi turrets are weak, just use stability & get in their turrets & aoe it- end of story, they have 30-60 sec cds & you have yourself a dead engi & you can stop qqing

They also changed the female running animation, their arms didn’t raise as high before & it didn’t look they were running in place (bc thats what it looks like bc of how goofy their arms look when they move)

As the title says; I was in a dungeon earlier with my sister. Things were going fine until one of the party members starting calling her racist & sexist slurs out of the blue. I reported & blocked them, went to kick them & the rest of the party did nothing saying they supported ‘free speech’ & they laughed it off. We both left the party right after.

it was incredibly offensive & unfair, I dont mean to sound like a child but I’ve been wondering what is done to people like that? are reports of ‘verbal abuse’ even reviewed?
or is it a matter of ‘free speech/ block & move on’ ?

The female faces, good— But what I don’t understand is the human female faces- the makeup- I love wearing makeup, it is fun to put on & it is an art~ But the human female faces, aside from the bottom 2 female human faces, the one with red lipstick is gastly. Why red? Does anet not know that more shades & colors of lipstick than red exists?
Why do they keep giving us reskins? I haven’t seen a single soul that actually likes reskins.
And that gastly color of lipstick. Why not let us choose the colors? Why not make makeup apart of the accessory colors? WHY RED LIPSTICK?
Edit: I will note that the darker shade of skin you go with the one that has lipstick, the more beautiful it becomes. It turns more plum- the paler you go the sader & more 90’s brown it looks.

By default I always assume that the people I am talking to are logical and sensible. I might be overly optimistic but with this paradigm in mind I cannot understand how anyone would not recognize that there is a l2p issue if there is one. Since people do not seem to acknowledge this kind of issue, I assume that my analysis is wrong. This is why I look for alternative explanations. This is where you are supposed to enlighten me.

I’ve played pretty much since launch.

Casual PvPer, tend to focus more on WvW, with a lot of roaming. I’ve mained Ele almost the entire time (with a lesser focus on Guardian and Engineer).

My personal observation is thus:

The strongest iteration of the Ele in 1v1 was at launch, when skills like RtL hadn’t been nerfed yet, and was the era of 1vX trolling videos in WvW. PvP, the Ele has ALWAYS been subpar, except for several organized teams that can play to the strengths of the class while minimizing the weaknesses.

The greater “nerf Ele” community perceives the bog standard Ele through this lens. If they get their butt kicked by an Ele, they perceive it as an OP class, even though they then proceed to get their butts kicked by the other seven professions too.

For some reason I can’t fathom, players just don’t like being dominated by a good Ele player. It doesn’t matter if you point out PU Mesmers, most Thief builds, decap Engies, hambow/shoutbow, bunker Guards etc., etc. Its like these players have blinders on, and are tunnel vision’d on the Ele as the source of all their woes.

More than any other profession out there, it seems the majority of PvP scrubs refuse to adjust their builds and tactics to counter a profession like the Ele, and rather than bringing CC skills, boonstrips, and any other counter you can think of, they just complain and moan when their damage doesn’t land or stick. And usually with a casual PvP environment like GW2, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and if you compare objectively where the Ele is now compared to release, its been over nerfed pretty significantly.

I mean, the META build for Eles in PvP right now requires you to blast through half your skills before every fight just to build up enough Might to be a threat, as to just have a chance at survival you have to build extremely tanky. Most other professions are not that badly pigeonholed, and if players were HONEST they’d admit they want the class nerfed just so they don’t get rolled by a decent Ele in 1 out of every 10 match ups.

Kodiak, once more, I am fairly certain that top players are not “scrublords”. Therefore they must have reasons to think that the ele is OP if they think the ele is OP. If the top players do not think that the ele is OP then there is no need for debate.

Now that we have settled this divergence for the third time, could we get to the reasons why top players could objectively think the ele is OP?

Ele’s aren’t OP- it’s a L2P thing.
OP is when you give X class any kind of build/gear/stats & it wins 99% of the time no matter skill level.

We need more “elonian” faces, or african/ indian – Not to mention the lack of hairs that tends to go with those races- afro’s, beads & braids can be pretty

I’m still having these horrible lag spikes— it makes gw2 unplayable- so I’ll keep checking to see when anet will fix this issue, otherwise there is literally nothing I can do. It’s weird because it just started today.
