Some are pretty useless, let’s be honest. And some can’t even be sold.
Please let us put 4 superiors into the forge so they might turn into something useful. Or else please implement something that makes use of them.
Most of these are suggestions to make the game less convenient. I don’t understand you humans.
MithranArkanere, that is already the case. If you use an Ori pick on a mithril node, you it doesn’t take 1 use out of each hack like it would with a Mithril pick. If only we could know that it is exactly as cost-effective to use only ori tools as the proper tool for the proper tier, I would just do that.
i like getting ruined ore ,lumber, and plants.

i like getting ruined ore ,lumber, and plants.
Reading it 4 times I still can’t believe it.
Prevent us from using the wrong tool.
It’s a pain having to switch, it’s a pain having to wait for combat to “end” to switch. Can you save us the pain of accidentally ruining the node because of the wrong tool?
It would also fix the problem of Master’s tools having no description and varying quality levels that can only be found by finding what tier gets ruined upon use.
What if it was just on buy orders?
millions of orders exist that will never be fulfilled.
I already have to repost an item 20 times for it to sell/buy. Having people on off hours undercutting & outbidding me would make the TP totally useless.
It seems like it would only benefit people who aren’t buying things they need, only those who are flipping.
Dragons’ Tooth – Elementalist Scepter skill
It makes a big flaming rock appear over an enemy’s head. It hovers for some reason (you’d think it would take effort to do that and the character would want to drop it asap, but anyway…). After it has finished channeling, if the character dodges, gets knocked down, dazed, uses [Mist Form] or is downed; the giant flaming pointy rock crashing onto the opponent’s head does 0 damage.
It’s not an interrupted effect either, you can use it, then use another skill and dodge and you got no damage from DT. Seems to me that even if you were defeated this thing should totally ‘splode most enemies because physics. Pretty sure the similar ice skill doesn’t have this problem, which is why I call it a bug.
Elementalists suck. We have to dodge like crazy and our biggest attack, which often is too slow to hit can miss due to our own dodge. Please fix.
I used a masterwork axe on ancient sapling and got it ruined. I was level 80 when I got it from a story mission around lv 30-40. It is the equivalent to Steel Axe for me.

i just read “legitimately” and “control the market” in the same sentence. Controlling the market is just as dislikeable as cheating. It kittens over other players just the same for personal gain.
Anyone with a legendary at this point is not innocent and good for the rest of us to have to play with.
Just because a server is marked FULL, doesn’t mean it is full of players who are still playing. We need to cull the ones who have quit or only play once every few weeks. Or move everyone active to a new server.
Just a note on this . Those servers are marked full by online/offline, not number of accounts who call it their home. Otherwise there would have been no way for me to get on Stormbluff Isle when I started a couple weeks ago, much less help my friend get on there a few days later.
Basing this on fact or a guess? Maybe people transfered off stormbluff while you transferred on.
I’m an elementalist, I can’t just run to the one I want to fight and stand there hitting 1&2 until they die. If I stand still, I die. Dodging is a must, several skills involve dashing forward and back, and half the skills are AoEs. Other mobs packed that closely WILL notice and join in the fight. That coupled with the fact that I’m the squishiest class means guaranteed death. A guardian’s soloability is not the same as other classes. What one person calls easy doesn’t hold true with a different character.
Also, the skill point in Fireheart Rise (surrounded by lava) was the most ridiculous thing a person could try to solo. I tried getting 2 guildies to come and help me but we all died 3 times. On the 4th try 2 more joined and we got through it by the skin of our teeth.
I have tried doing it via /emotes and via the buttons that sometimes appear. I’ve tried following his orders and disobeying.
The only thing I’ve seen happen is if I disobey I get knocked down.
Is there any point to it?
Nothing makes me feel unheroic in this game quite like...

One thing that I use to screen out games before playing is if it uses “falling to your death and starting over” as a replacement for challenge.
I appreciate any game that saves me from that irritation and makes ledges not accidentally-walkoff-able. Because in reality, I wouldn’t accidentally walk off a ledge. It’s only camera and icky controls that cause it to happen. I’m just glad in GW2 it’s not required to do these. And only about 3 that I’ve tried were so bad that I got angry at Anet.
It’s in Straits of Devastation at the Glorious Victory Waypoint with a spread of mobs all around the commune point.
They might have included that in the minimum system requirements then.
Min requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.0ghz, 2gb ram, Geforce 7800
My system: Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz overclocked to 3.6ghz, 8gb ram, Geforce GTX 560
People with better systems than mine are complaining too in the 40-page thread about low FPS.
Statue of Balthazar
Please read the third post “This is in addition to the existing maps.” Nothing is being downgraded. Also please read the 1st and 5th posts “for those of us with systems that are well above minimum requirements but get 5FPS at times.”
Please read the first post “for those of us with systems that are well above minimum requirements but get 5FPS at times.”
They have more than 1 team. They can work on bugs and optimization or alternative solutions to optimization.
First “off” all, the OP didn’t assume that everybody is supposed to be able to go everywhere or kill every mob solo. The first 2 sentences said “i know it isn’t meant to be this way but it isn’t working”.
Second of all, no, not every map completion item can be done without a group. For example a skill point at one of the temples yesterday was full of veterans spaced so closely that it’s impossible to fight without 3 of them on you. And even with a group of 4, by the time we got to the Commune spot, and were communing, a mob respawned and broke the progress. Absolutely impossible without a group, as designed.
And not all classes are equal for solo play. Guardians can do much more solo than elementalists.
This is in addition to the existing maps. You’d still get to do whatever you do in the regular maps, but those who can’t do WvW because of low FPS could use this and make a small difference in the overall score.
Spell, AoE and cursor visibilities (colour effect suggestion)
in Suggestions
Posted by: Clark Skinner.4902
Haha I lose my cursor all the time. All the time.
I agree with the friendly AoE suggestion too. In WvW if we could do “server colour skill effects”, it would prevent allies from dodging out of my AoE fields. Meteor shower doesn’t even have a circle on the ground so you have to wait until you get damaged to know it’s an enemy’s.
If people are horrible to others in here, they will be horrible to others in map chat. They’ll get reported there too.
are you an elementalist by any chance?
Jormag’s spawn time was changed without it saying so in the patch. Did you think we wouldn’t notice
In the big halloween update they said they increased the drop rate in a couple of maps, check it out!
Like the Underflow suggestion: just merge the pve combat zones. There’s no reason not to merge servers temporarily just in PvE. We can still stay separate for WvW but we will have enough people on a map to take down champions and do all of the content that was designed to require groups.
Just because a server is marked FULL, doesn’t mean it is full of players who are still playing. We need to cull the ones who have quit or only play once every few weeks. Or move everyone active to a new server.
The huge zergs in WvW require computers far better than the minimum requirements.
How about a smaller map that has 40 players per server that can give a reasonable FPS for those of us with systems that are well above minimum requirements but get 5FPS at times.
It could have no gathering, no jumping puzzles and less importance in the server tally to dissuade the faster computers from playing there. It could be like the Kids Table wvwically speaking.
…Also please let us turn off snow. If you can’t optimize the game, you can easily turn off snow to lessen the effects of low FPS on a player’s ability to see what’s happening. May improve performance too.
Invisible Bags & Safe Boxes don't work with TP sell screen
in Suggestions
Posted by: Clark Skinner.4902
The reason you get invisible bags is to make it so you never accidentally sell its contents. It also simplifies the merchant screen by removing some of the items from the list.
The trading post still shows these items in the Sell tab. So you can still accidentally sell things there, and it complicates the TP sell screen. Also queries the TP db more by pulling prices next to all of these items.
+1’d
It would improve chances of finding others to play with (not zerg with)
With the number of active players dropping (our guild has like 2/3 of its members not playing anymore), we could certainly merge with another server to get reasonable activity.
If you lock server transfers now, it’s going to be super imbalanced. The damage is already done.
My wild suggestion (but just might work) is to randomly sort guilds into all servers evenly when free transfers end. I know it would cause some unrest but it would die down and would permanently fix the mess you’ve made with free transfers all this time. It would also make everyone have a reasonable (or no) wait time and fix night capping imbalances.
Give’er a go!
Last night (24 hours ago and after the patch that supposedly fixed this), I saw someone on the inside of a gate I was defending. Just attacking from the inside.
I started attacking him and he vanished, and my attacks started firing through the door and saying “obstructed” because he was now on the other side. I saw no mesmer portals either.
Also, on another gate assault I was behind the gate and the doors were being bumped and I’d sometimes see an enemy character appearing in the middle of the door on our side, not attacking or moving. I could target her but she would flicker between visible and not so fast that I couldn’t click her, then get up to her pic in time to right-click and report.
Clicking on an item in Transactions tab still takes you to a Buy screen while still on the transactions tab. To get back to your transactions page, you have to click Buy tab (though you should already be in it), then back to transactions, then drop down box, then Items I’m buying, then next page, next page, next page. All of that should be replaced with a single back button.
Also “seconds ago” when it was actually half a day ago. Seems like such an easy thing to fix.
I want to add that in addition to firing backwards and off cliffs, this skill seems to stop when it runs into the edge of a combo field.
Lots of times it will stop short for no reason and do no damage to the enemy.
The ways this and the teleport flash utility skill are supposed to move a character are totally undecipherable to me. The teleport one is garbage. Considering you are turning into lightning and dropping down from the sky, it should work anywhere you have line-of-sight. Instead it functions as a instantaneous walk-forward skill. Considering how awesome mesmer teleports are, I think something can be done about this.
The highlighted time is the time the update went live. So why do Onyx lodestones(used to craft Hallowe’en runes & sigils) spike a day before that?
75 candy corn
1 iron ore
2 onyx fragments
1 nougat center
= MINOR rune of the mad king
Let’s see, that’s 75*30c + 1*73c + 2*100c + 1*250c = 27s73c
Minor runes are worthless as it is, and sell for peanuts, even with the novelty value.
Why would you require such ridiculous ingredients? Who put forth this idea that this recipe should use all of these mats? It’s insulting and if you were a person I was talking to in real life, I would tell you I want nothing more to do with someone like you.
You kittened me Anet. You kittened me and lots of other people out of 27s. So rude.
Gendarran has the doors.
All seem to have the candy corn mines.
Frostgorge has nothing.
Saw nothing in Sparkfly.
Is there a list of places that have hallowe’en events? If not, let’s make one here.
Been playing lots daily since pre-launch, I’ve only gotten 4 keys, which were from the story and also given from inside chests I opened.
There is obviously a hidden Luck stat somewhere in the game that some of us rolled very high in.
I think Aidan was saying it starts at midnight GMT in Europe. Which is like 8pm EST, 5pm PST.
I wish there were some benefit to joining a party (aside from the guild incentive bonus).
When I revive, I don’t always say “yw” because it’s a bother moving my hands to the keyboard for that, when it’s kind of unnecessary. If they weren’t welcome, I wouldn’t have rezed them. But I do watch to see who thanks me for saving their butts. Especially when they just narrowly escaped a repair/waypoint fee. It makes a big difference in how I feel about my fellow players.
It’s weird.. I bet most players are more social in person but there’s something scary about just speaking to other people in the game.

He has somewhat of a point though. Because if a legendary was given by killing 100,000 mobs, it would be a standard that we could all compare to. If someone can buy one, no one should admire him/her for it.
Legendaries are meant for prestige, but because of the questionable or easy ways to get them, they often are looked down upon rather than celebrated.
I didn’t know mobs did that. Does loot do the same?
There are too many coats in the game.
2nd skimpy armor is not degrading and disrespectful to women. In Fact it is liberating to many women.
3rd the female form is a work of art and there is nothing wrong with Gods creation.
… more coats than boots? gloves?
2nd skimpy armor is only liberating for hussies. For self-respecting women, it’s insulting. For young girls, they are taught that they are meant to look sexual and that attractiveness is more important than sense. For boys, they are taught that girls aren’t equal and are valuable for arousal.
3rd oh man this is weak. Would you say that old, saggy creations of God are works of art and should be shown in game? How about fat works of art? No, no one’s asking for that, they’re only asking for things to turn them on while playing. And if you really care about displaying the human form, you’d advocate for full nudity. If you feel genitals are things that shouldn’t be shown, then you are advocating against sexualizing players.
4th Korean games make the women look like teenage girls. That’s not the direction we should be heading in. GW2 makes women look like adult women. It’s a more responsible and less perverted approach. The game doesn’t need to sell sex to succeed.
It does harm other players. It makes it much more difficult to buy something you actually want because flippers are meddling in sales. The legitimate buyers would be getting these deals, and legitimate sellers would be selling things more easily.
It’s actually not a case of “taking the time to flip”. It’s actually a really easy way to do it. I’d be far richer if I did it, and I spend more time on the TP than most. I just won’t treat other people like that. I care about the principle of the matter and the morality of my actions, not what will give me quick currency in a game. I don’t flip despite it being a easy way to make money.
If everyone did it, there would be no profit from it. Everyone doesn’t do it, not because they can’t figure out “buy low sell high”. They do it because it’s not honourable in-game just like it is not honourable in real-life. “Cut out the middleman” is common knowledge enough for this to be understood by all.
Curious about method ANet would say is efficient for some unique weapons, etc

I wanted to add that it’s the TriforGe Amulet, not TriforCe. It has nothing to do with Zelda, and everything to do with the gaming company Triforge Games.
A normal amulet has 154 stats + 5% crit.
Triforge has 240 stats + 5% crit.
So you get 86 more stat points but they’re in skill you likely don’t use or want. If they were the same price I would choose a Ruby Orichalcum Amulet or equivalent because the stats are placed where it’s important for my character. Quantity vs Quality.

Fair enough. So really, getting the more unique items caters to those that can spend hours on end playing, and who don’t have to work 40+ hours a week or they do, and just don’t like to sleep.
Yes, this is exactly it. But really you’re looking at one of the most elite items in the game. It’s totally unnecessary to get it, and for most people the 1g50 amulets are better for their character in addition to being cheap.
A regular player aiming for all lv 80 exotics is a reasonable and difficult goal. Legendaries, Triforge, most of the uniques in the forge are all for people who dedicate their lives to the game and/or pay tons of real money and/or exploit and/or become a pain in the community’s butt with TP manipulation.
250 orbs is also a pipe dream to get in drops. It would take at least a year of grinding. They do that on purpose to make us all interdependent, and force us to interact with each other because we’re so asocial.

Do you not think those fees are there to maybe discourage flipping?
They’re doing something Anet doesn’t want them to do, that shouldn’t be congratulated.
I disagree. People fight jormag again and again. It’s kind of sad. Regular PvEing is so dull to them now. I think rewards should be given for other things, like playing with others or doing events that have been waiting for someone to do them.
Increasing rewards for the uber events will just turn everyone’s day into a parade of Dragon, dragon, dragon, orr chain, dragon, dragon, dragon, etc
Kind of soulless, don’t you think?
