We all need to know this.
The same way it holds your weapons and armor and 500lbs of loot you carry around.
I don’t think I’ve ever carried bundles and used mist form before. I told 2 groups today about it who weren’t aware of it.
Seems like with the more cheaty methods other classes use (portals, teleport), Mist Form isn’t a big ask. But if it’s a mechanic limitation I can understand.
It depends on having competent teammates though. You can expect at least 1 person in a group will have trouble with this. If you have 3 very talented players with good sight & reflexes, it’s easy. But the fact that already I’m seeing “LF1M fractals must be good” means it’s hard to get a group with enough people good enough to do this.
It should be at the difficulty of “average group of 5 skill”. Especially at lv 1, it should be much easier. Practice helps a lot here but people won’t even try it if it “seems” impossible for the average newcomer.
In the Claw of Jormag event, we have an NPC telling us “It’s coming back” “protect the golemns” “we’ve moved the cannons!” It sort of gives us an idea of things from a zoomed-out perspective. Just helps with storytelling.
I had no idea that catapults were even being built or that we had found a way to penetrate the shells. We have a lot of stuff to read, and most of it isn’t important. Some clear and concise pre-messages saying “If they come back, we are going to have siege ready for them and weapons for everyone. If you see an invasion, run to ____ to arm yourself. We will be more prepared for future assaults” would have given us the feeling like we were supposed to have an invasion to stick around for.
I would stop playing far before 700 lol! Wow. Your ability to not get tired of something impresses me.
I estimate around 120 and i’ll be not wanting to play anymore. This was the breath of fresh air the game has been given, but repeating it all day will wear thin and increasing the tokens to a rate that I think “it’s actually possible for me to get something” will keep me in the game. If it’s too little I’ll get bored, too much and I’ll not even consider it and have nothing to do and will stop playing in either case.
5 per run.. pretty low. Back pieces cost 1350. But then I was told you get more rewards the higher level you try. Great! So I looked it up… at lv 6+ you get a whopping 1 more per run.
I know you’re going to start low because you don’t want us to unexpectedly get too much too soon like how things started out with the regular dungeons (before nerfing and rebalancing). I’m just concerned that I will have lost interest by the time that rebalancing happens. I will try to not do it much until then but please don’t put it at the bottom of the list.
Thanks.
i’ve played with 3 groups. First got wisps on first try with noobs and we all quit.
Second did 2, then DC so we had to start over. did 2 more then people had to leave. We should have been lv 2.
Third had 2 simultaneous DC after 2 fractals again, started over, did 3 more and finished. 9 finished and i’m just at lv 2.
Please give us a way to rejoin a group.
Wait. The karka attacked LA today? I never saw that.
A treb was being built and a boat showed up before it completed. Everyone left then.
Same here.
Do you also pass along to the designer when users say it makes them want to jump off a cliff in real life?
Feels more like a chore or a punishment than a leisure activity.
And once again I plea for dragon’s tooth to always do damage if it lands on an enemy, even if I have dodged or gone into mist form or been knocked down/stunned/downed. I shouldn’t have to stand around after the channeling is finished.
I keep looking for improvements to elementalist skills but they aren’t getting better with updates.
This is about the changes to Combo Fields for Scepter Skills.
First of all let me say I hate how Dragon’s Tooth doesn’t initiate a combo finisher from where it’s cast now, because we can’t target it and the delay is so long that the field usually expires. Might as well remove the combo finisher and put it on something else.
But the Phoenix combo finisher seems broken to me. The definition is supposed to be "any attack that passes through a combo field. Well when you’re standing in Ring of Fire and fire the phoenix, it passes through it once on the way out, and once on the way back, but neither trigger a combo. Only happens when the skill is targetted inside the Ring of Fire, and considering an elementalist isn’t so great up close (especially using a ranged weapon), it’s impractical to have to get into melee range to use any of the 4 combo finishers Scepter/Dagger offers.
Area Might is a defensive boon as well, which doesn’t need to happen near the enemy, it should effect near the caster and those around him/her.
I was going to report this too. I’ve been getting some champs giving me no loot. Another gave only a tiny moldy bag… it had a tiny totem in it.
No rares or exotics seen so far.
you missed “instantly sell something for profit”
Took me quite a while to jump over one when the timer wasn’t on. I don’ tknow how effective that would be while the heat is on.
Arcane Shield protects from beartraps but not the trip wire. And mob attacks of course.
Mist Form is my panic button, it would be much better to use than the others.
Is this by design?
I feel like it should have been made aware if so because I ruined several attempts not knowing that it was what caused the failure. I’d use it right near the end to get me safely to the destination when I was crippled, and ruined it. Well we didn’t really have a chance anyway but if we were close that would have taken away that rare success.
both groups i’ve done have quit after several tries here. Even with good communication and strategy we can at best get 2 in with one far behind.
I disagree when a game designer puts us through something punishing for challenge. One of the rules of GW2 from that dev blog was to respect the player & their time. We spend our free time doing this to relax and enjoy. Punishment makes it feel like work, and the randomness of the walls is an automatic loss of time and momentum.
Yeah yeah I was wrong (QQ)but Vlejundo beat you to the punch.
Is there an in-game way to get these?
Also does that mean the black lion chest is back to default contents?
The trading post shows hundreds already for sale on something inaccessible as of yet.
Those who got a headstart were pretty much handed gold by anet. More the 1% 99% divisision in the game. Can we please try to keep a lid on things for future content changes so leaks don’t happen?
Dye prices at gem store aren’t worth it. How do we make it more worthwhile? Increase prices of all TP dyes.
How do we do that? Decrease the drop rate! But that will get everyone mad….
Increase the drop rate temporarily, then drop it as a fix… then forget to bring it back up to the original drop rate. Success!
Except in the real world you can’t buy and instantly sell something for profit. And in the stock market, no one has to wait to buy stocks to level their crafting or to equip them. Everyone there is just buying with plans to resell later at a higher price.
Also, I have seen a bot at the TP botting away, and with patterns I’ve seen with mass buying and selling at patterned prices and near-instant reposting of buy orders when it gets outbid, I am sure there have been bots on the TP since late September.
Oh god are personal attacks really needed? Can we not just avoid doing that on any thread?
Thanks for the answer, I had been told it was today sometime but I guess they were thinking of the free trial starting today.
I have never had anyone invite or talk to me having changed my status to LFG. It’s useless.
It would be ever so slightly better if they let us add a note next to our LFG status that said “I need TA explore 2 & 3 – first time so not a speed run”. Or “LFG Need heavy armor class”. As it is, it’s just a blue square that could mean anything from “I don’t want to play alone” to “I wanted to do a dungeon 2 hours ago but am now getting food”.
We want a date and a time with time zone this time!
Thank you!
Some very good points.
With respect to the 1c more, I sometimes adjust the price by more than this, but the most important part is that I’m not the only one doing this, so the buy price is likely to have been adjusted upwards multiple times. Yes, it may mean people have to wait longer to receive items they wanted to buy at the lower price, but you can also assume that they were prepared to wait in order to buy at that lower price in the first place. The same principle holds for those selling goods.
As an aside, I also use the TP for buying materials to level crafting. Sometimes I will place buy orders if I’m not in any rush for the materials, and other times I will pay at the sell rate if I want to use them immediately. This is the trade-off I am prepared to make of time vs. cost, and I even use it when selling items on the TP.
What I and the others engaged in this activity are doing is reducing the price spread between buy and sell prices by assuming some of the risks and opportunity costs involved in putting up buy offers and listing items for sale. We have a trading post where players can signal to others both how much they want to pay for and item and what price they are willing to sell that item for. Traders like myself work in the margin between these 2 values and help to bring them closer.
There’s nothing wrong with buying mats you intend to use or keep at a low price.
A person putting a buy order in is prepared to wait to get the item in reasonable time. They aren’t prepared for another person to put a buy order on top for 100 of the item so they will never actually get it. Playing the middleman stops trades for those people to give 1 person the discount that would have gone to many. If it wasn’t for that, one could just put an order in and feel confident that waiting a day or 2 would have the order fulfilled. But now you have to check it every 20 mintues to see if someone has halted trade with their massive middleman injection.
If you think of it this way: You go to the grocery store to get oranges since they are on sale 50% off. When you arrive, you find 1 person has bought the entire 50lbs of oranges and in their rush they dropped 15% of them on the floor. They then turn around to sell them to you at the full price. How would you react?

I can only make money by making yellow armors that have the good and sexy female skins (masquerade, gladiator, and winged). I sometimes buy the mats I need if I don’t have it, but I still make a profit as I’m not matching highest buyer which is always a bad idea. The idea is to sell half way between lowest seller and highest buyer. I’m always making my investment or better.
Halfway between? Oh man you could be getting so much more for those. They were selling fine at 50s each, and then this strategy ruined it. Someone would be afraid it wouldn’t sell so they’d post it at 30s. And then it would get undercut from there. It results in all sellers getting less.
And then a new one would come and see 30 and think “I’d better go halfway between there and the 10s buy order price”, and then 20s becomes the new undercut price. Telling your worries to shush and keeping it at 50s means profits can still be had for everyone, without the price permanently being nerfed.
I occasionally see SELL orders below venor price.
That should be old orders from the beginning of the TP. They need to clean those up, they are very, very annoying
No they are the lowest price for sale. When I see them I buy them and resell to a vendor for slight profit.
hmm he’s gone, hopefully they got the bot and are dissecting its parts
I agree with the first 2.
It would make the TP less of an absolute pain for those who want to use it as intended (to trade with other players for things we looted or need to use).
I’d pretty much never buy something and need to sell it again within 3 days.
I’d pretty much never sell something and need to buy more within 3 days.Middlemen infest the market now. 1 person gaining lots of money for little work at the expense of the many.
I can understand people anticipating market trends and buying a bunch of something hoping it will rise in price in a week or two. They would be exempt from this suggestion as it only applies a cooldown.
As one of the middlemen that are “infesting” the market, let me try to explain how my actions are actually beneficial to those who just want to sell stuff they looted/crafted or buy goods to use.
Firstly, I place buy orders at a rate that is generally at or above the current going buy rate. This gives players who just want to sell their stuff straight away more money for their goods than they would have otherwise received.
I then place sell orders for those goods at a rate that is generally at or below the current going sell rate. This gives players who want to receive the goods they are buying straight away the ability to pay less for those goods than they would otherwise have cost.
Yes, I make a profit, but I also provide liquidity in the market by being an immediate buyer and seller of goods, and the actions of players like myself repeated multiple times help narrow the margins between the buy and sell prices of goods on the market.
You’re giving the person selling their item 1c more. You’re taking 15% of the money that would have come from that transaction and giving it to the tax man. If you weren’t there, the person buying below you would have gotten their item sooner and that 15% would not have been destroyed.
You consider it a benefit to save people from having to wait, yet you’re causing people who already have the item up for sale to have to wait, so any benefit is negated.
I occasionally see SELL orders below venor price.
I have suspected this but didn’t know how it was possible.
Last night there was a bot at the TP in Lion’s Arch. A ranger doing the routine of ranger skills robotically forever while standing at the TP. a few of us reported them. Today I log on, it’s still there just not doing the attack macros.
So why is a bot standing at the TP overnight? They can post things in the field. They can pick gold up in 1 second. The only reason to wait around is to buy, flip or repost orders. What can a bot do on the TP?
This could explain some of the ridiculous buy orders I’ve seen on items that aren’t highly traded and seem to get reposted every few minutes by the same person. I hope Anet will now consider that bots might be working the TP and to find ways to detect them. Check the log of the person on Crystal Desert’s LA TP. I won’t name names but they have been there overnight without being logged out and wear black & white armor with yellow wings on the head.
And also, I’ve seen “prove it” a couple of times here being said by the people who hold and don’t share the evidence. It does not endear the company to me.
I agree with the first 2.

Anet please sell this person a lemon and divy the proceeds to all players. They really do have all of our money.
Once you have the mats you have 2 choices:
Sell them for x gold
Craft them into something and sell for y gold
If x is greater than y, sell the mats. If y is greater than x, craft & sell.
In real life, the work & expertise always make y greater, and it should be this way in the game, except that people make this stuff for crafting experience (until 400), which floods the market with stuff people just want something better than vendor price for.
I read somewhere (maybe a BL NPC) that the listing fee isn’t refundable. And also, it says “listing fee”. I wouldn’t expect to get that back, and if I was unsure, I would have watched to see if I did get it back. Very easy to test with a 3c item.
But the non-refundable fee is a good thing. It’s bloody impossible to keep something as the lowest listed item because of competition if there are no limits on reposting. You think it would be better if it wasn’t there but the change would apply to your competitors and it would be absolutely exhausting trying to keep yours at the bottom.
Personally I feel the TP requires too much UI time and administrative work. It’s so sluggish already and tabs don’t remember which page you are on so you need to find your way back. I wish we could all just post an item for a set price and wait until it is randomly chosen as the one that is sold to the next customer.
I think Items I’ve Sold should be ordered by the date they were sold, not the date they were posted.
It’s the TP parasites flipping items that make a fee required. They take the deals and the sales so legitimate buyers and sellers can’t get a deal or sell. Even with the fees it’s a pain to try to trade. If there weren’t any fees, every single item on the TP would have an equal buy and sell price as it gets flipped until they’re equal.
If anything we need more fees or another way to prevent the unfriendly traders from ruining it for the rest of us.
Or maybe they were intentionally increased so we wouldn’t get mad when they nerfed them bad.
High dye prices on the TP make gem store dyes seem more reasonable.
I thought there was a max amount items on the TP could be listed as, like 999 gold.
Is that only for sell offers?
The transactions tabs on my screen have improper time.
Everything from the last 12 hours shows as “seconds ago”. And so if that was my screen, “11 hours ago” really means “23 hours ago”, which means you probably already collected the money.
But then again I sometimes get very late deliveries of sales profit.
But then again the items sold tab shows the date/time you put it up, not the date/time you sold (which is not useful to me).
I was waiting for after Hallowe’en to open my chests because I don’t care about the skins or festive tonics.
But then it was extended until the 15th.. right when the new chests are going to begin.
So will the regular chests ever return or will they always be themed for now on?
terrible fps, invisible opponents, stealth spec’d thieves, bad matchups, guilds hopping servers
that and anet not doing anything to improve it
I don’t know what I don’t like about the targetting but something is off.
Nearest often doesn’t target the nearest. And auto attack without choosing a target often picks a moa when I’m already struggling. The difference can be life & death… or rather life and fees.
The issue isn’t that people aren’t enjoying playing a thief. The issue is when playing with a thief. Me rolling something else doesn’t solve anything.
I don’t know if this rendering problem is the same as the general invisible enemies from WvW.
What it was like for me is: I am suddenly down to 1/3 health. I look around, see nothing, I take more damage, I see a flicker of a character and they’re gone. I realize it’s a thief, so I try to use an AoE. Then they flicker again. My attack didn’t happen. I try to move around until I can see where to target my next AoE. They appear briefly and I’m dead.
Repeat for the next 3 people who wander in.
Is that working properly or a bug? Either way, please fix.
For god’s sake. Just rename the thread to “Delete Thieves”. That’s what you’re asking. Thieves are NOTHING without stealth. You’re effectively trying to morph them in to inferior versions of Warriors. When the rendering problems with stealth are fixed, it will be perfectly fine. Just deal. Seriously. These threads are getting tiring.
The fact that there are enough of them to tire you says that there’s a problem.
I have experienced the rendering problems as well, it’s very similar but not the case in the 3 times I’ve experienced this.
Why should I just deal? Why shouldn’t you just deal with a thief that has no invisibility? Seriously.
I didn’t hear anything. Amongst sounds of battle, there are no sounds audible.
