Our party tried a 13. 2 People had no AR. Which is totally fine for a Jade Maw fight. What I didn’t realize is that Anet made a change in the amount of AR you need now.
I wish I had been informed of that before choosing a difficulty level.
This boss pelts the party with agony from start to finish, not giving a chance to rez people it kills. And if a player gets downed in a red circle, they’re just out of the fight. 2.5 hours x5 people = 12.5 manhours wasted.

Let’s not speak for everyone and say “no one thinks like you so you’re wrong”.
My personal experience is that it’s hard to get a guild fractal group together because they take too long. Guildies say it a lot. It’s an all-or-nothing thing. Doing a single fractal and leaving would baffle anyone you suggested it to.
This update made them even longer, and the Jade Maw fight is now the easy one. I really think they should either break them up somehow, like the OP said, or else make it a string of 3 fractals instead of 4. (2 regular, 1 boss)
At the end I realized there wasn’t actually any story to it. I didn’t learn anything at all. I don’t know if there was any significance to it at all or how it related to any other aspect of the game.
It’s almost like I did explorable mode, but I know I did story mode.
So yeah I guess it’s cool to have a story-less Thaumanova than a story-less Abbadon.
We gave so much feedback on the floor in the Pavillion gauntlet being difficult to see. And how it didn’t contribute to challenge, just technical difficulties.
And now this Thaumanova floor is the same thing, except being able to see the floor is even more important than in the pavillion. There’s even a bright light underneath that serves as a blind spot.
Whyyy?
It just seemed liek they were offering the Spiritwood or Deldrimor mats, since they are not the ones we already have a ton of.
We knew from Sept how much bloodstone, empyreal, and dragonite we’d need for ascended weapons + armor. I got enough bloodstone dust in Sept. I got enough Dragonite about a month ago, and have about enough empyreal now. So these are really the equivalent of no reward to me. Hopefully the fractals will be fun enough that we get the meta without noticing, so it’s not a grind for a rewardless meta.
“Not the ones everyone already has tons of”
Bloodstone Brick, Dragonite Ingot, Empyreal Star
These are the ones everyone already has tons of. People who play a lot already have more than they’ll ever need. Lots of us are deleting these rewards as we get them. So essentially, there is a reward for people who don’t play much, but no reward for people who play a lot.
I know it’s last minute, but I hope there’s more to it than that. :/
Defending bugged software keeps it bugged. It’s not constructive. How about talking about how to improve things so bugs happen less in the future?
Then why did you repeat an incorrect number that could be verified easily by any of the trading sites? I did read page 1 and the first thing I did was look up the actual trading history and saw the OP “exaggerating” about the sell off. I know there are only a few items that the supply has gone over 1 million and I was sure quartz wasn’t one of them, not with a price of over a silver.
Hold up. I’m the OP.
I went back to gw2spidy and you’re right, I had my decimals wrong. I saw 165126 and thought it was 1.6 million, but it’s 160,000. So my apologies on that and I have edited the first post.
But still, it was 148,562 of 165,126 bought up in about 4 days. 90% of the stock was bought up.
The supply has crept up a tiny bit since then, but the prices are still at an all-time high.
I don’t know if anyone said it was all bought up by 1 person. I certainly didn’t. If you read the first word of the topic, you can see it leaves room for both true and false. And personally, I feel that assuming it does happen is a tin-foil-hatty as assuming it doesn’t. The post was to request Anet pay attention to the people responsible for this extreme phenomenon.
Sentinel weapons and armor should drop, just like they did before. It’s silly that they have been removed. This is the perfect time to bring them back.
I actually didn’t read this thread.. I saw the link and thought “Ooh i forgot about the livestream! clicky clicky!”
And I got to that part and was like “how did he not rez, he was out of the maze and there were no enemies around?”. I rewinded twice to see what it was. It seemed like his body was still in the trap area and getting hit by traps. That cannot be intentional.
Reminds me of the issue where the body dies and slides, and people can’t rez because the real place they died is too far away from the body.
Edit: also, when he gets downed the second time, those sparks and agony don’t persist while he’s downed, so he can heal. Which does make it seem like it was a bug the first time. And I saw some sparks on the other players the first time, but none the second time. Hopefully that gets worked out, as it would be a big downer when doing the new content.

Anet, you know I’ll be here raging if the +5 AR isn’t in the Agony Resist slot after the patch. It’ll be on you if you don’t speak up now!
1.5million that’s 6000 bag slots.
They can be left in the pickup tab.
thumbs down to the larger order size. The rare times when one legitimatley needs more than 250 of an item are worth dealing with to make it a pain for people to manipulate/flip.
How about making the Time in the transactions tab match the current time zone. 5 hours ago does not equal “seconds ago”.
How about when you right-click to sell something, the window opens in the SELL tab, rather than the buy tab.
How about when you click on the item in the transactions tab, and it brings up a BUY page, it makes the BUY tab active instead of the TRANSACTIONS tab.
How about being able to see your orders on an item’s Buy page so you know if you’ve already got one for sale or if you’ve got an order for that item already. You could put a little star at the price level where your order is placed.
The sluggishness of the TP is unacceptable to me and needs improvement. But even more unacceptable is the lack of filter for armor weight. I still can’t believe that’s not in the game by now.
In the same spirit I urged posters to not try to stop the botting, as the ones who can control it are unwilling to, I also urge posters to stop trying to reason with DarkSpirit. He/she isn’t trying to come to an understanding or be constructive, just looking to argue about something online and troll you all. The lack of logic in his/her arguments won’t hold credibility with Anet who is reading all of the good feedback we are giving. So to best keep the thread easy-to-read for them, and free of arguments over trivial details, I suggest scrolling down to the next post when you see that particular account name (at least until a block user feature is implemented).
They don’t need illegal spying. They have TP logs and IP address logs. See which account bought all of the supply. If they send money to someone else, check that person’s account.
That depressing feeling of when you check back and find no one answered your topic. qq
I have this Ascended (Infused) ring that used to have Magic Find on it. I haven’t chosen the stats and equipped it yet.
If I choose them now, it will have the +5 AR included from (Infused), which post-patch gets transformed into a +5AR in the Agony Resist Slot.
Cool.
BUT if I don’t choose the stats until after the patch, will I have an empy Agony Resist Slot (like Anthony described the state of the (Infused) rings that will drop post-patch)?
Anet had better investigate the accounts that bought 150,000 of the 160,000 Quartz Crystals over 4 days.
We’ve seen this happen before big changes to the economy, when those items will turn out to be in high demand due to an upcoming update.
If it turns out to be that people knew in advance, please actually do something about it so they don’t get away with it.
Edited the numbers cuz I mixed up my comma placement.

It’s not just a person with a notification program. They can automatically bid and remove bids outside of the game. There was a thread not too long ago by a poster here saying he figured out how to and wanted to know if it was allowed to place bids from outside the game.
If it’s possible for an app to automatically notify when you’re outbid. And it’s possible for an app to make a bid. Then it’s possible to auto-rebid when outbid.
And there are ways to test it. I have done many. I reported one instance a couple of months ago, where a bot was covering EVERY blue item on the trading post up to a certain max limit. It was thousands of items. It would literally take a real person their entire day doing only repostings to handle that number of bids. I reported it, 2 days passed, and the same morning I got a response to my DETAILED ticket, the botter was removed.
However, I’ve seen bots covering other items, and I found a few ways to test that they were bidding from outside the game beyond the shadow of a doubt, and presented the evidence to Anet, but nothing was ever done.
It seems like too much work to verify the examples, or they don’t have the level of detail in logs to do so.
I spent a lot of hours trying to make it easy for Anet to weed these parasites out, but it was all wasted. So I gave up, the bots can have the game, and Anet won’t get any more of my time and effort trying to help them. I suggest you save yourself the sadness and do the same.
So, if you have +5 agony resist on a ring, and you get a +5 AR drop.
Can you apply it to the ring to bump it up to +6? Or do we have to throw away the old resist any time a change is made.
I hate stuff like that, always feeling conflicted blah.
I’m kind of curious on that, myself. If you can use the +5 in the ring to make a +6, that’s good. But it seems that would require some way to pull the +5 back out, wouldn’kitten
If you can’t pull it out and upgrade it, only overwrite it, then that’s bad. That’s going to slow things down a lot, and make people want to give up sooner.
If you can pull it out and upgrade it, I hope the method used is sensible and not some expensive thing from the gem store.
I am more concerned with the dilemma of “should I make a +6 or hold off, dealing with the difficulty a little longer until I can get it to +7”. Quality of Life difference is significant for me. I think they should save us the dilemmas and adjust drop rates based on direct upgrades on the AR.
Yeah the champ spider one is quite insane. The cocoon HP could be reduced to scale it better. Also, the mines shouldn’t be in there at all. The Group Event version can have those, but in a 3-5 player instance, that is overkill. Especially how others can activate the mines and kill each other.
The mortars shouldn’t respawn either. Actually they should just get removed as the NPCS get stuck fighting them.
So, if you have +5 agony resist on a ring, and you get a +5 AR drop.
Can you apply it to the ring to bump it up to +6? Or do we have to throw away the old resist any time a change is made.
I hate stuff like that, always feeling conflicted blah.
Since this is a fractal update, and rings stacking up are becoming an issue more and more desperately needing a solution…
How about making this update the one that gives us a GOOD use for extra ascended/infused rings.
Just to reiterate, a GOOD use is one that makes us feel satisfied that we did what was required to acquire them, and results in them being valued as an ascended item should be.
With the new support site, I can’t figure out how to see tickets I submitted and their status.
The only options are Submit a Request, choose language, and view common issues.
Is this a bug? Or is there some method I can’t see?
Nice, more of that would be great.
had 2 green, 1 blue key to start.
Went in today, hoping to get a red key.
Gained 7 green, 1 blue in a full run from bottom to top, hitting every chamber that was open.
:/
Why was it made so that if a party member gets disconnected in the final boss instance, they can’t get back in?
This has happened with 2 guildies now. I don’t see why this would be changed from the normal party setup, since there’s no apparent benefit, and clear downsides.
pretty sure i got green in level 1 and 2, and just got one for sure on lv 3
They read every topic, and have time to reply to the thank you topics. So they have time to just select, copy, paste, click.
So little effort to make people happy, yet none is taken. I would dislike a person IRL for doing that.
Was fighting a vet Hylek in EB who had the corrupted buff, and halfway through killing it, it lost the buff and i got no credit.
So many people are still carrying around these story Trophy items.
We ask if they will have a future use, we get no response.
Can you PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE just type a quick response to say “yes you should throw these out” or “no you shouldn’t throw these out” so we can rid ourselves of them without worry? You can copy and paste one of those so it will take even less time.
Examples:
Positional Relay Beacon
Tassi’s Relay Golem
Krait Obelisk Shard Transcriber
In the future, how about when we complete the meta event, we talk to someone who will take these items off our hands in exchange for the reward.
I hate to be so insistant but requests like these are so easy to answer but so rarely do. It’s such an easy way to make a lot of people glad.
1. what is this build you’re using
2. after 2000+ matches played with ele, I’d expect you to beat most people.
3. if ele is really powerful in pvp, why do we not see rooms full of eles?
4. personally I think the class should be balanced around the average player throughout the game, not making an expert in pvp equal to others.
5. I appreciate Renewing stamina going back down. My only frown is from the swap of my first 2 water traits meaning that I lose Soothing Disruption when I need fall damage in wvw.
Let’s not decide how great or terrible it will be until we actually play it.
Seems like some hefty work was being done, so is there anything we can expect to notice different as a result? Should we be watching performance to see if it has increased? Watch for graphical bugs? UI bugs? TP bugs?
We can’t give relevant feedback unless we know what we’re supposed to be watching for.
I love me some blue weapons, but most of the existing ones look crappy, and don’t fit the style of most characters. The toxic krait ones are the kind I’ve been waiting for, except I don’t like the black goop coming from them. I’d trade most of those for 1 good set of blues with a particle effect, and no brown/grey parts on the weapon.
By the way, brown and grey weapons are far more common.
Sentinel inscriptions and insignias came from salvaging dropped Sentinel equipment. This equipment came from the molten alliance dungeon.
The molten alliance dungeon is coming back as a fractal. So the drops may resume there when it returns.
They already announced precursor crafting will be delayed into 2014.
I expected quite a few more skills by this point.
It’s still a lot more content in 2 months than we have gotten in past 2-month chunks, which makes me doubtful it’ll happen, but at least I won’t be surprised.
2 bosses spawning at the same time is pretty dumb.
But most of the deaths is because of the general assumption that stacking on the boss = victory in every case, with every class and every fight dynamic. I don’t rez people in melee range for that fight anymore. It gets explained every time, but there’s always a commander saying “STACK STACK” just before all of the melees get downed.
Fight from anywhere, step out of red circles. When you see candy corn puddles, step into them until you reach 5 stacks of the buff. Step out for a couple of seconds, step back in the puddle until the missile phase ends. Repeat.
Elemental Attunement moved to Master tier.
Most eles use this trait. You said you wanted to discourage putting points into arcane, but every ele who only had 10 points will now have to jump up to 20.
Can someone link the build site for this old OP ele? I did my own thing back then and don’t know what it was that made them so powerful.
Great big thumbs DOWN from me. They didn’t even need to do work to add it, just use the same one. And the hype about the tower, yet we can’t do anything with it.
Everything is moving way too slowly for me.
They should at least give casters/ranged players the ability to finish from a distance, since we often kill from a distance. It’s much more of a pain in the … for distance and classes that kite.
I think the goal of game design should be to give players as much fun as possible while respecting their limited time. So activities (in any game) like backtracking, New Game+, slow movement speed, gated content etc., I take personally as a sign of disrespect to my limited time and energy.
In this case, the spiking encourages Finisher sales. In my opinion, this change intentionally made the game worse to make more money.
I would encourage Anet to intentionally make the game better to make more money.
Yeah I stopped too. I never enjoyed being yanked around and pushed by krait before. The amount of content is minimal here, and I was expecting it to be the bigger half of the Halloween updates.
It’ll only lengthen out because I can’t be bothered to do it for long before feeling like doing anything else.
Nothing in the patch notes about this. And no i’m not doing more testing each patch to see if it’s fixed. It should be announced.
I tested the other potions that had this effect. Potion of Azantil and Undead Battle Potion (from the Maelstrom vendor).
Both did more damage to enemies when the potions were applied halfway through an Arc Lightning stage 3, compared to using no potion.
In terms of damage taken, I wrote down 66 non-crit and non-glancing regular attacks from a risen brute (no frenzy or berserk abilities to complicate it). 66 with no pots, 66 with azantil, 66 with undead battle.
Average damage taken:
None – 99.65 damage
Azantil – 107.11 damage
Battle – 106.59 damage
Azantil did 1.0748% more damage (description says it does 1.07% less)
Undead Battle did 1.0696% more damage (description says it does 1.07% less)
I actually did 2 trials of 33 for each of them, and both trials’ individual averages were extremely close. Not a big variation.
So yeah, these are bugged the same as the others. Please don’t forget to fix with the rest.
Ah I see, thanks for the clarification.
Still think this should be account bound though.
I need to post here so it is in my recent threads cuz I want to be aware of updates.
There’s a patch coming soon, will this be fixed in it?
Despite the update where they were apparently made account bound, they are still soulbound. I have 2 stacks that are each soulbound and won’t merge.
