Right now in the TC/Kain/BG Eternal Battlegrounds jumping puzzle, there’s a thief on Kaineng teleporting around (up and down levels).
Knocking people off levels and teleporting down to kill them when they’re wounded.
I managed to right click on them and report when he was fighting, but didn’t know what to report it as. I chose botting, but it was pretty obviously a live player. Scamming?
Another Kainenger from [GANK] was using a ranger exploit to knock people off ledges. How do we report this?
One thing that troubles me about reporting as bots is that I expect it to take x number of reports before it is flagged as a problematic account. This case won’t get lots of reports. I would write a ticket but since we don’t get accounts names when we report, nor add friends, I can’t take the effort to escalate it.
We are willing to help you rid your game of these people, but you have to give us some tools!
I don’t understand the mechanic… and it’s not like we have time to hover over the icons (they move throughout battle) to read the tooltip.
I don’t understand why sometimes I can knock them down, and other times I can.
Even when knockdown fails, it says “Interrupt”, which doesn’t actually interrupt anything. I have always thought it was bugged.
Oh I forgot to mention that.
For the first x characters in a guild to log in, they add 10 influence.
After a certain number (maybe 20 or so), extra members (random guess: 40) add 5 influence. Possibly the next 40 contribute 2 influence?
After 100 members logged in, it drops to 1 influence per additional character.
eg my guild has a lot of
132 members logged in for 432 influence.
111 members logged in for 411 influence.
153 members logged in for 453 influence.
Are new armor sets coming in the not-too-distant future?
I’m arranging an exotic armor set & skins, and would hold off if new skins will be coming, otherwise I’ll go full speed ahead with what’s currently available.
Wow lots of guessing here. I made a thread about this before and used the wiki talk page to get more info.
You definitely can get 50 influence per day (one with each alt). One after the other rapidly in about 3 minutes of loading time.
+10 influence when logging in the first time each day to the guild you log in with. When logging out the previous day, make sure you are repping the guild you want it to go to.
What is probably messing you guys up is each alt needs to be on a different map. Overflows seems to count as different maps.
The only thing that confuses me is that it doesn’t seem to reset at 4pm server time. Lately, I’ve been logging off at 10pm (relogging at 10pm doesn’t add the +10 influence), and logging back in around 9am, and the influence gets added then. Sometime between those hours is when it gets reset.
Seriously? So it’s 7 days + 5.5 days? And they’ll be starting at starter values. cry
I’ve been waiting to level crafting.
I transferred around midnight EST on Jan 26-27.
I figured I wouldn’t get wvw bonuses for the rest of that week, or else for 7 full days.
The end of that week was Feb 1.
7 Full days completed aroudn midnight Feb 2-3.
It’s now Feb 4th at 10am. When do bonuses return?
I love fighting him, but it’s things like this that I feel should have some kind of clear explanation about what works against him.
Stability, Arcane Shield, Mist form all prevent the pull. Does Swirling Winds? Does Magnetic Aura? Does Wall of Reflection? Does Aegis? Does stealth? I would intuit that they do, but I am guessing they don’t. And it’s not intuitive that the projectile can pull you through a wall when there’s not even line of sight.
I don’t understand why if I use Arcane shield after the pull, I still get downed just the same as not using it.
If ever a time to add MF to the UI, it was when they opened it up, and redesigned it. Yet it wasn’t added.
I can only assume there was a reason, like showing MF would also show DR, which they wouldn’t want to display. Or that MF doesn’t work at all.
The fact that people have been asking for it, and they had a perfect chance to add it, since they were redoing it anyway, and there’s even a blank spot it could have filled, but it wasn’t included…. how can that be unintenional?
I was about to report this topic for calling out “Staff” in the title, lol.
Yeah staffs are pretty ugly. most are wooden brown with teeth and rib bones sticking out of it. Staff-using classes are some of the most colourful ones, so the weapons should look appropriate.
And there is so much potential to model a creative staff. Unlike swords which need to be long, straight, thin, and bladed, staffs can be pretty much anything. Since we can’t dye weapons there should be different colours and varying styles/effects on them. The non-rare crafted staffs from 0-80 are all that same ugly stick with a pale yellow crystal on top. Boring!
You have 24 hours to complete your daily. If you go about yourself doing events and such, you will get it done without even knowing it.
It is your choice to go and stand around waiting to rez someone, so it’s nobody elses fault that you choose to play like that.
So just go about your business and you’ll complete your daily.
Really? Is that really how I came across? Standing around for an entire 24 hours waiting for someone to rez? Do you think this could have been written a little less abraisively, like as if you were speaking to another human being maybe?
I don’t play for 24 hours a day.
As I said, I ran around a map looking for anything to rez and found 1 in half an hour. And that was at the end of me going about my business for several hours.
As someone already stated, the point I’m making is that yes, there are places you can easily get it. Everyone has seen places like those. But unless you make a specific intention to get to a dragon or to do dungeons or find one of those graveyards, you won’t find enough bodies. Which means it’s not something that naturally happens while exploring. You might luck out and find a place with 10 bodies, or you may find 2 in your whole gaming session.

sometimes in the EB jumping puzzle. That’s the only one I know of. The Southsun one was removed.
I didn’t say NPCs are cheating, I said it feels like cheating. Meaning, it doesn’t feel like what they were tryign to encourage when adding this to daily. Just a way to get the meter filled up. Cliff jumping is the same.
I agree they should be gotten 90% through normal play, and some extra effort to finish any that weren’t 100%. But I searched for about 30 minutes on a map yesterday and couldn’t find more than 1 anything to rez. I don’t want to be tied to Jormag to get my daily done. I did frostgorge daily for 3 months for the old repetitive daily. I want to be able to explore and get my daily anywhere.
The only way I see this happening legitimately is in wvw.
I see maybe 2 dead players in pve exploration and one will waypoint away before I can get to them.
Rezzing an NPC feels like cheating. People are jumping off cliffs for each other at 3:30 server time to get this done.
I think 10 is far more than most players could accomplish through natural playing.
When clicking on an item in the transactions tab, you are taken to a screen that should be under the Buy tab. You can buy items this way.
But if you click the Transactions tab to go back, nothing happens. It’s already the active tab. So you have to click away to another tab and back to Transactions to reset it.
Been a source of irritation since the TP started working.
I can’t send food to my dungeon party because of it. Please raise it to 4 mails before it kicks in.
that’s only in wvw
I have run over to rez someone many many times just to have them waypoint out before I can get to them. I think they go to map screen immediately after getting killed.

Same here. Started with the newest patch. A guildie said it happens to her too. Close it at night, the next morning it is still running in the background.
Also 64 bit, but windows 7.
i got it today on an alt. It was a mule alt that never even leaves the city, he didn’t take part in the event at all. But I’m glad to get it.
I have good news and bad news.
Good news: I think I found the issue, somehow there were 2 copies of the door, which could get out of synch. (So one door thought it was closed, blocking entrance, even though the visible door was open.)
Bad news: I don’t expect the fix to go live until the next major content update, at the end of the month.
That is interesting, Jeffrey. What a great time for your bot team to use this opportunity to catch unauthorized harvesters in that area…bots who harvest under the map. Should be mighty helpful in that department until the fix goes live.
Good to hear it is being taken care of.
lynspottery, some regular player can still get in there though. I got in a few days ago. But when I came back the next day I couldn’t. I parked that alt there and check twice a day or so but it has been blocked ever since. Still, the people who can get in will be a much higher percent of botters for sure.
I have to sign in waaaay too frequently.
It’s bothersome because I can open a bunch of topics in new tabs and when I move to view them, they are all “please sign in”, and I have to go back and try to figure out what they all were.
I suggest a check box on the login page saying “Keep me logged in”.
If Anet doen’t want people raging on the forums tonight because the contents of these boxes are account/soulbound (if they are), it should be disclosed and spread ASAP. Just a preventative tip.
Why are they not allowed to moan, but you are allowed to moan about them?
I still don’t have it. Swapped alts, went back to Hoelbrak. Nothing.
Thanks for the link about waypoints.
You still could do a boss 100% the first time.
In the dungeons I have failed in, we have stopped to try something new, retrait, change utils, strategize. Sometimes a group still isn’t able to do it.
About Hard Mode – I didn’t think of it that way. I just would like a way to complete the dungeon if the difficulty is just too high for the party. I feel like unskilled players should be able to play the game, it should just take them more time than the expert dungeon runners. That in itself is less reward per hour, in addition to the armor repairs.
At least give people the ability to buy Guild Influence Drinks with the leftover influence in the old server to be used in the new server. Would make the sting not so bad.
I feel like there should be some feeling of progress even after a wipe. This way in future attempts, your chances of beating it are greater.
The main problem with this is that the change ANet made to dungeons in the 28 January patch – removing the ability to rez-run – was specifically intended to counter this. In other words, ANet’s now made a specific statement that from a design standpoint, a wipe is supposed to mean a total reset.
It’s not a bad idea, I’m just saying that it’s a direct contradiction of a stance which has very recently shaped ANet design policy.
Didn’t Anet also make nerfs to the bosses as well, so now hopefully people are not dying a million times over?
I thought so, but it doesn’t say specifically it did for TA, which no one ever wants to do, especially the F/F path. They didn’t even add a 3rd waypoint like in the other 2 paths.
Some dungeons are really hard. Harder than the average 5 players can handle.
They can try the boss 10 times, wipe, have tons of repair fees, lose lots of time, have a bad experience, and on the 11th try they have made no progress since the first try.
Often the mobs that gradually spawn in are all there from the start of each future attempt to make it worse.
I feel like there should be some feeling of progress even after a wipe. This way in future attempts, your chances of beating it are greater.
One way to do it would be to limit the amount of full heal the boss gets after a wipe. For each wipe, it could heal 80% of its missing health. So if the group can only take out half of it’s health each time, it would respawn like so:
Attempt 1: Start at 100% health, wipe, heal back to 90%
Attempt 2: Start at 90%, wipe, heal to 72%
Attempt 3: Start at 72%, wipe, heal to 57%
Attempt 4: Start at 57%, wipe, heal to 46%
Attempt 5: Success.
People would still try to do it in 1 attempt as they don’t want to pay all of these armor repair fees, and take the time to walk back and fail repeatedly. But it would make every dungeon possible even for the less skilled players, and diligence would lead to victory instead of bitter defeat, regret, and unwillingness to repeat the dungeon.
Whaddya think? There are other ways to accomplish this of course, this is just 1 implementation.
Filled the achievement bar yesterday for the refugees/good deeds. No painting, no mail. I deleted a couple of messages but still got nothing. Logged in today, still nothing.
Server reset from a patch in the last 12 hours.
I check on it first thing in the morning. Kill the 2 bandits and the vet. Open the door. Invisible wall…
It’s like activating the door is only animating it to open without removing the obstacle.
Thanks, Vick.
I’m not going to even read the hostile person’s responses anymore. It doesn’t do me any good, and I don’t feel respect or good intentions coming from it.
After Lyns was disabled, I put enough items into commendations to get future tools, kits, and however many keys or new items I could get with the rest, giving up a lot of bank spaces while waiting. I didn’t expect it to take until Jan 28th for her to return.
When I heard keys were likely going to be removed or have the price raised, I wasn’t thrilled. I don’t really use BL chest items, i just hoard boosters on an alt, but it’s fun to open them. But I figured I would still be able to use my comms up on higher-priced keys or some new merchandise.
I feel slightly wronged in how it was handled. It’s good that the people who exploited snowflakes are having some of their unfairly gained wealth mitigated, but it is also punishing the average player who didn’t even know about snowflakes. I’m losing probably 5g worth of equipment thrown in the forge because of this change, without doing anything wrong. The moldy bag drop goof caused more damage than the a rough implementation of my suggestion would.
They could find some material that is in short supply and let us trade comms for that. Or convert it to karma or guild influence. There are lots of things that could be added to dispose of commendations that don’t break the game. And limits could be put in place to prevent those who have ill-gotten tens of thousands of commendations from being rewarded.
Edit: I have just seen the crafting starter kits in the Laurel store. “One time account purchase”. If they can limit the number of purchases, they could do that to keys to solve this problem. Regular players don’t get wronged, exploiters get minimal return on their investments.
(edited by Clark Skinner.4902)
I’m imagining they nerfed the drop rate because I’ve heard people were getting 150+ bags an hour. This can only mean a good thing in keeping T6 material prices stable.
Seriously? I always miss out on this stuff! How will they equalize things for players like me after this goof?
7. Commendations
Although they are being removed… and are nearly worthless now.
I didn’t hear about any increased loot drop announcement. Source?
If there are fewer nodes now, it stands to reason that it was done to counterbalance the larger supply of gathered materials based on WvW bonuses being activated in Dec(?). When you get to gather extra times from nodes, it means more supply.
Of course that means unlucky servers this week are getting worse than they did before the WvW bonuses were activated. But who cares about the players, right?
They haven’t fixed the loot stealth nerf aka bugged DR. They haven’t made vets and champs guaranteed to drop loot as they announced they had (screenshot proof in another thread).
We are expected to get used to this current terrible drop rate until we stop complaining about it.
The problem is, it has disinclined me and many others into not bothering to fight vets or champs anymore. Jormag is a trap. The more work an enemy takes to kill, the less rewarding it will be.
The lesson I have learned is to kill what is easy and run away from everything else in the game, even if it boxes you into a repetitive playstyle. Most people would have quit by now but I’m a hanger-on. A hanger-on who has a lot less fun than he used to have.
That felt like a cross-examination. If you ignore most of what I wrote because I have no evidence (and it’s impossible to get evidence), I am going to ignore what you said without evidence, which is most of it.
I will say that “by your own admission, the only thing you want from Lyns is keys”, is impossible because I bought one of every tool for an alt, plus multiple ori tools and salvage kits. I bought 9 keys before she was removed. Most of those tools have run out and I refilled now. But I can’t use more than a couple hundred comms on them, and the rest are wasted because there’s nothing else in the store I can use.
I don’t appreciate being called an exploiter.
I didn’t make a post in the suggestions topic to go to court and argue with someone. I’m not twisting your words, please don’t twist mine.
I am making a suggestion. If you have a different suggestion, go ahead and make another thread.
Still bugged. On TC.
Yesterday I was able to do it, today it is blocked. I don’t think anyone here cares about if it is working on the test server. We just want it to work and for our time to not be wasted.
If bugs like this are still in the game after months, what have all of the “various bug fixes” been doing?
Restore loot rates and issue a public apology.

Maybe you gave yourself the nickname of your email address somehow??
When 1 person tries over and over again to make a jump, the other person can do nothing but stand there feeling helpless.
What if a way was implemented for a party member to stand at the ledge and help the person if they narrowly miss?
Would build a feeling of community and multiplayer-ness, and would get the other players active instead of just standing around.
Before when I went into lower level zones, I got:
some lv 80 blue gear,
some gear at the level of the zone.
Now when I go into lower level zones I get:
some lv 80 blue gear,
some gear at the level of the zone.
What has changed?
I find the most disrespectful and insulting responses are directed at people making a complaint about the game. It can be a calm, rational complaint about something that is broken, but it will be met with hostility from another user. One person’s criticism of a game isn’t personal towards other players, so there’s no need to react with insults.
I rarely see people just accepting that someone else has a different opinion. Sometimes it’s trying to convince that person they are wrong, but mostly it’s just ridiculing them for having that opinion via the unconstructive “QQ”, “whiners”, “idiots”. These posts don’t contribute to the topics but they remain.
I feel like reasonable-minded people of any opinion are driven off of the forum because they don’t want to deal with the hostility.
I don’t believe players putting money into the gem economy would lower the prices. It’s like a zip-tie. It can only tighten in 1 direction.
I just feel sorry for people who join and then find out a friend plays, and has to pay another $22 to join their friend’s guild. And all of the people who haven’t logged in in the last few days when so many guilds up and moved, and are now trapped because they don’t have 32g to spend.
Sorry, I should have asked if a lv1 and four lv 9s go in together, are teh enemies going to be way too hard for the lv1, way too easy for teh lv9, or somehow equalized?
I don’t even know how a wvw player can get 5g a week.
If a lv 1 person joins with 4x lv 25s
Will the enemies be way too hard for the lv 1 fractal player? Or is there some kind of scaling due to FotM level?
I’m not crying. (is anyone accused of crying on the internet ever actually crying?)
I have already transferred, and others I care about have.
Can a person not think something is wrong without it personally affecting them?
5g is more than enough to deter people from switching servers to get the best wvw bonuses.
By that reasoning, most players deserve to lose out because they aren’t coming to the forum to check to see if anything is about to be removed. That’s not reasonable to expect of players.
We were given the impression that Lyns would be there the whole time, restocked. There was no impression then that anythign would be removed. Speculation for the reason was that Anet didn’t want people to lose Wintersday key sales because of Lyns.
And I have nothing to liquidate more than a couple hundred commendations on. The rest are wasted. And “not paying to gather”? No, I already did pay. Possibly more than the regular gathering tools. This wasn’t a gesture of respect. It’s a heavy-handed way to deal with exploiters that leaves the rest of us at a loss. I feel like they don’t care about the people who don’t cheat.
It didn’t get adjusted. Unbelievable.
