If you want porno, watch a porno.
It’s a game and young people are playing. We don’t need women dressed up as prostitutes in-game. It’s not good for the kids to take in, and it’s kind of demented that it’s normal to have women dressed nearly naked in video games. Just because most players are male, doesn’t mean the game has to pander to their horniness.
Also, it is ridiculously unimmersive for all that skin showing to have the same defense as a fully covered plate. If they did make these half-naked designs, they should get hefty penalties on stats.
A little hard to read but I think some of the same things. I don’t see how teamwork succeeds in GW2. It’s just everyone trying to do some damage and if 2 people do a combo, it’s neato and dumb luck.
In other games, I’ve been able to do something that fills a gap in what other players do, and they realize it. I wouldn’t know if someone is trying to work together. Since AoEs are circles on the ground, it’s hard to use them with knockback skills and heals just get avoided like they’re traps.
I really don’t know what could be suggested to create a feeling of synergy. It seems like an overhaul is the only thing that would do it.
I am in exactly the same boat. I am not an MMO vet so I don’t know if this is bizarre, but I find it incredibly bizarre that in a Massively Multiplayer game, it’s nearly impossible to find people to play with you.
I use the useless LFG status and I’m the only person on the map using it. I ask in map chat if anyone wants to party to do exploration of any place on the map and there is no response. Guildies have their own maps they are working on. It feels like people only come to a map to fight a World Boss, do a chain of events robotically, or do dungeons. They’re rewarded best for that, not for exploring, spelunking, or doing distant events, and I don’t suppose there is actually any incentive to form parties. I feel like I’m alone in the game for long stretches of time.
I’m an elementalist, and have had to be really good at it to avoid dying all the time. But I sadly had to skip over many areas because they aren’t possible to solo. Fireheart Rise and Straits of Devastation are especially hard. Dense areas, high respawn. Joining a zerg makes me feel like I’m on autopilot.
I don’t especially want to solo the game, but as it is, I have no choice, and am now stuck. Unable to get further solo and unable to get help. I wasn’t expecting it to be like this.

They might do it this way intentionally so it’s hard to spy on enemies in WvW when you’re dead.
Since the potions are kind of a failure (the ingredients are way more expensive than the product, no one wants to dedicate 15 bag slots for each type, and no area has the same type of creature for 30 minutes except endgame undead areas)….
How about a Potion of Creature slaying to help with animals/skelk/drake/graveling etc. It would be more universal and sensible to carry around and would fill a gap that the other potions don’t do.
Haha the free market eh? There are limitations already. You can’t buy or sell karma items. This game isn’t the real world, and can be exploited like the real world can’t. If someone bought up all of the carrots in the grocery store at a sale price and opened a stand next to it selling for more, you’d smack them in the face. Because it’s anonymous, people don’t see how they’re crossing each other by missing out on getting slapped in the face when middlemaning.
The point with my suggestion is that they wouldn’t buy all the stock to begin with if they had to wait a week to sell it. So you wouldn’t get unhappy.
It seems like the only people who are against this are people who are profiting from it.
It’s not a grind to me as I didn’t rush to lv 80 in the first week. I am playing the game as they intended, and playing the market without resorting to unfriendly flipping. If I can do it, so can everyone else. No excuses needed.
This change would help the many at the expense of the few who are not the friendliest of players to begin with.
There are people who are playing the game without flipping. There are people who are playing without the trading post entirely. It’s not required to flip.
Flipping is not using your brain. It is the least difficult way to play the market. And there are different ways to play the market without playing the middleman. It is unfriendly, wastes gold and makes it more difficult for people who want to buy or sell something to actually do it.
I have made money by crafting things that are hard to find, buying materials for crafting cheap, looking for the best way to dispose of items. This is actual effort and thought making money. Flipping is something anyone can think of and do with next to no effort.
I like the idea of not being able to buy huge stacks of an item at once.
I don’t think a feeless TP will make prices skyrocket. It will make buy/sell prices equal and pointless. There would be no way to find deals as a flipper would take even 2c difference and sell them in bulk.
The more time goes, I feel like the smartest and most consciencous players will do worse than those who don’t care about the economy or the way they do business. It’s coming down to “lower yourself or stop making money”. Which for me means stop making money.
Since the trading post has a 15% fee, it can be assumed Anet doesn’t like buying items just to resell them. It discourages flipping to a degree that isn’t too punishing to the rest of the players.
But lots of flipping is still done, and it makes legitimate buyers and sellers much less able to use the TP. It steals savings from them, and destroys 15% of those savings paying fees a second time. Instead of player A getting a 1s savings, player B acts as the middleman and gets 85 savings. There would be more money if it didn’t happen.
Since there is rarely a need to sell something your just bought, I propose a limitation of a few days or a week where you need to wait before you can resell something you bought. This would eliminate the behaviour of: calculate if there’s a profit margin, buy a ton, sell immediately as it comes in.
The only people who would be affected more than a negligible amount are people making money to the detriment of the economy. The wait would introduce risk to this behaviour that doesn’t guarantee profit.
Whaddya think?

I tried that but ended up missing tons of attacks because they require a target, and there is time between when the target is dead and when I realize I’m targetting no one. I had to turn auto-target back on.
Immersively speaking, you would never accidentally run in the opposite direction or accidentally start attacking something. There are times when I’m intentionally trying to attack something that has run behind me and I still see the animation, which looks like it works but no damage is happening. If they changed fire grab to do this, which wasn’t all that necessary, Ride the Lightning should definitely be changed.
Since a lot of skills are being “fixed” to not fire behind the character, usually making combat worse, I figured I would report that the one skill that should never fire behind the character, yet still does.
Ride the lightning, if targetted will dash to a target. Even if the target is long behind you. Even if you have deseleted the target. Even if it’s a peaceful moa that you have never targetted. I’m afraid to use this skill half the time because I might aggro something or fly backwards a long way. If there’s no one targetted, it should run straight forward.
A related issue: the Lightning strikes etc on attunement switch shouldn’t hit non-hostiles. Targetted creatures, sure. Hostile creatures, sure. Non-hostiles that you don’t want to anger because you’re low on health and trying to get away..NOPE. I’d disable this if I could.

Can we get an official response about this?
I’d like to pick some superior sigils for my final gear, and it’ll hinge on whether this is going to change to match the description or if the description will change to match the current behaviour.

The forum search doesn’t execute for me so I couldn’t see if this already was suggested.
The only way to know what your MF% is is to hover over each piece of equipment and add it up. There should be a stat shown like there is for damage, healing power, critical chance.
This would also let us know for sure that the MF% on boon is working.
@ Rolo
There are no “recommended requirements”. All they gave us are minimum requirements, which are actually inadequate requirements.
And no, a 2ghz dual core is not just as good as a 3ghz dual core just because they’re in the same generation.
they also stand on the exact same spot firing constantly. Most are rangers with the same bear pet. They run forward to grab loot or follow mobs, but they teleport back to that exact spot where the rest of them are standing.
I’ve been seeing more than just asdkfjkd names. Some even have guild tags and I can only assume they’re hacked accounts.
There is surely a way to make this work via moving the window, changing it slightly each time (randomized code) or changing what it is they’re supposed to click on. (one of these things doesn’t belong, click on it)
A free item from Black Lion Trading Company!
Glob of Dolyak Dung
You can drop it on the ground and let botters pick it up! Not only will it make their fingers stink, but it also pops a window up in a random spot on screen asking them “Want to drop the dung and wash your hands?”. Players accidentally picking this up could click Yes easily. Botters can’t click the button when it’s randomly placed, and are stuck and defenseless as mobs mow them down.
Players will not only do the work for you, but enjoy seeing the results.
Are there even any GMs? I feel like we’re all alone in here. Anet are you super averse to hiring a couple of people? Add more staff, bugs might have been fixed before launch, botters would be stopped before they do damage. Just bite the bullet!
1 hour of GM time could ban all of them on each server. It’s ridiculous how little is being done. 2 million copies sold can pay for 1 employee.
To the people saying “duh it’s a new game you need a new computer obveeislee”. Anet disagrees.
•Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3 OR AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better
•2 GB RAM
•NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256 MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
It says 2.0ghz dual core. I have 3.0ghz dual core.
It says 2gb ram. I have 8gb ram
It say Geforce 7800. I have Geforce 560.
It was perfectly reasonable to assume I could play this game with max settings and no problems.
I tried WvW, and despite all of the enemies being invisible at the time, I had 2FPS at the lowest point. There are picture slideshows that move at a higher frequency. This was with gamebooster shutting down anything unnecessary.
Until they optimize this, I just can’t do WvW. And I need to spend time researching overclocking, hoping I don’t destroy my CPU. I shouldn’t have to do any of this.
Thanks! I will mark it answered if I can figure out how.
Are things like gates, siege weapons and event objects (weapon racks) immune to condition damage?
Obviously wood doesn’t bleed or get poisoned, but it does burn. How does the game handle this?
just happened to me too. I wonder if it’s because 2 of them were soulbound items i had someone craft for me.
On Crystal Desert by the way, so not only Jade Quarry
Are ghosts considered “undead”?
In achievements, there’s one for Risen and one for Ghosts. But the potion doesn’t say either, so I’m assuming it is named Undead to cover both.
Would it be good for AC?
Trading Post Buy Screen: identify which postings are yours

The Sell page tells you if you’re already selling it but it should also identify on the buying page. You shouldn’t have to acquire/craft a second item to see where yours is in the list of different prices.
The transactions page is a slow and onerous way to look at history, especially when some items have the same name and you need to hover over them to see “oh this one is the lv 40 one, this one is the lv 50 one”. Once you trawl through transactions to find your item, you have to go back to see where your price is on the list, and you lose your search filters.
I’m suggesting something like
10s00 1 available
10s20 3 available *you’re selling 2
12s30 1 available
15s10 6 available *you’re selling 1
I’m also suggesting this because I’m pretty sure there are people who don’t realize they’ve already got an item for sale, so they craft a new one and at that point they are shown “my existing listing at 10s20”. It would save a lot of page loads just indicating on the buy screen which listings are yours.
