Separate Sigil Cooldowns (at least swap&proc)

I’m sorry I have no idea what situation you just described..

Doesn’t 3 + 3 + 3 = 9?

With weapon swap sigils there is a 10 second cooldown so there would only be a maximum of 6 stacks. And if someone wanted to give up their second sigil for a second of the first, how is that unbalanced? Unless you’re saying both sigils are overpowered?

In any case, I was suggesting at least the proc cooldown doesn’t interfere with weapon swap cooldown, so you’d have nothing to worry about.

Separate Sigil Cooldowns (at least swap&proc)

To use a sigil that triggers on weapon swap, the sigil in your other had that triggers on either weapons swap or critical wont work for 10 seconds). Even if the second sigil only has a 2s cooldown and should be triggering often.

Ideally we should be able to use both with their own independent cooldowns.

But even if that’s a bother to change, can you make it so that the weapon swap sigil cooldowns (all 10s) are separate from the % on critical sigils?

I’ve made a list of sigils I liked with 7 of them having cooldowns, and since finding out how they block each other, I can only use one of those. It severely limits our choices and ushers people into typical “More DPS” builds because it just works reliably.

This variety was programmed into the game, it’s a waste to make them unusable for so many.

Now now there’s no need to insult each other.

DPS builds are a perfectly considerable choice just like many of the others (not ALL of the others, there definitely are junk sets). It’s just a build that is very popular and so you have to pay more to get it.

For my glass cannon gear, I get hurt so much faster that I need to stop doing damage to heal, use blinds, defensive skills before I can resume doing damage (or I’ll die fo sho). So I factor those delays in to how fast I can get something killed.

They have to be ready for these 1-time events where many of those long-inactive accounts make pop back to life. If it was full at 3am on a Tuesday, then how did all of those people log on during the Karka event?

The server population must be a realistic overestimation of how many people will come on at any given time.

Their words are saying “we’d love to have you in our magical innovative world” but their actions are saying “We’re going to make this game harder and harder on you until we get every cent possible from you until you quit”.

They may even have a fix ready for us but delayed implementing it because it is shifting the economy in the direction they want it to, and don’t want to stop it yet.

like you mentioned, Runes of Scholar is craftable by players and I am fine with the price, it’s all about supply and demand. If the sellers took the time to gather materials to make them, why shouldn’t they make a profit?

No no no, that’s not what I was saying. There is very little profit to be made if any for making the runes yourself. The materials aren’t gatherable, they’re extremely scarce, which is why the price is so high. I’ve never gotten a charged lodestone and I play daily. Let alone 6. I’m not sure if I’ve ever gotten a T6 rare mat aside from putrid essence.

OP you should go to the Mists and test these runes out for free on the training dummies. You’ll be surprised at which ones kill faster and which ones make no difference. For example, you might get 1% more damage with a 24g set vs a 5g set. But in most cases your last attack on the enemy goes way more damage than their remaining health. This means you still kill them in 30 seconds with 20 attacks, the 1% was just wasted.

There are other runes that are more specialist runes that are really good too, like Rune of Grenth, which is cheap as heck, but with a player who uses a lot of chill, it’s like giving your whole team quickness frequently. Foods & sigils can bolster specialist rune sets and give you a valuable role in group play, as well as make solo play more interesting.

Another alternative is to use a set of offense/defense mix runes and put all offense on your armor and weapon stats. Every class can do with some Vitality and/or Toughness, so instead of putting that on your armor pieces, put it on the runes, and use Berserker’s armor, weapons and Ruby Jewellery.

I bet a lot of people who use those don’t even realize they aren’t the best runes for their class.

There are so many good choices out there. These are just an option that many go for because it’s simple. Big damage sometimes doesn’t win the day.

Also, becauce Scholar is craftable, the supply is controlled by players somewhat and price is correlated to the price of lodestones.

I would love it if they made lodestones a little more equal. The good items are lumped on a the same lodestones, and you get Pile of Putrid Essence, which just makes cheap junk.

2 fixes that weren’t done very well. Guild leaders being able to kick each other. They did this because someone accidentally promoted another to guild leader and the promotee would not step down. This is problematic for everyone else now, and even for those they were trying to help. If the bad egg sees this first, he will kick the legitimate leader out and take over the guild.

And then there’s fixing some bad terrain design by changing the laws of physics in the game. I already had moments where I was running on a slope and my jump didn’t work, but I thought my keyboard was wearing out. There was already a mechanism like this, they just made it more oppressive because it was easier.

2 patches ago, 2 elementalist combo finishers were pretty much ruined. 1 stopped working completely. The other was made so the enemy had to be touching the ele to initiate the finisher inside the field. This patch only made the broken one work the same way. Elementalists shouldn’t be fighting in melee range!

Now they have to cast 3 skills and wait for the kitten Dragon’s Tooth to hover in the air (why would you mentally suspend something in the air longer than you had to?) for 3 seconds while the mobs cut you to pieces just to get the combo finishers to work, but by that time you’re dead because you stopped moving in the middle of a cluster of enemies.

It worked so much better before, the change 2 patches ago. Finisher executed on skill cast, not off in the distance after the field vanished, without the need for it to execute in melee range. And the combo is a boon, it should be centered around the caster.

The population “description” they have said isn’t based on the number of people on a time SOLELY. It also has to be based on how many people who have ever been on that server might pop back online for a special event so it doesn’t break.

Full means “we aren’t letting more people switch to this server at the moment”. It doesn’t mean “this server is full of players spread out amongst the world, who would be happy to be your friend!”.

They’ve said they can change these limits as they see fit, so other companies can’t tell them they are lying when Anet hasn’t said “Full means full of people online right now”.

The fact that you’re taking it upon yourself to convince us all we’re not feeling like the pve maps are dead tells us that you’re not an objective opinion. If you wanted to have your say, you could have said your peace and let others say theirs.

I think it’s foolish after everything that has happened to believe that the dye rate increase and drop were accidental.

You don’t accidentally go into the loot tables and change a number of one item to something much higher.

If they just straight out nerfed it, they would have had all of you shouting at them. By “accidentally” increasing it, they gave themselves the benefit of the doubt for you to not hate them. So now nerfing & sustaining the nerf, they still have some of you hoping it will be “fixed”.

Rune of Infiltration gives you stealth when your hitpoints are 10%. But it only lasts a few seconds, and you’d see him running away unless he went around a corner.

I saw someone in PvP seeming to get around the map way too fast. They kill me at one point, I respawn and they’re right there to greet me at the closer capture point. I kill them and they’re almost instantly back after their waypoint. I feel like PvP and WvW are so shady, that there are cheaters, and it makes me not want to bother competing.

I wish they had released the game a few weeks later and used that time to fix the trading post and add the extra security measures, fixing bugged events, guild problems, mail problems, making karma items account bound so people couldn’t exploit.

They would have saved themselves a lot of tickets to go through. With a finished game, they could focus only on optimization and new stuff.

Stuff is still bugged that was bugged at the start, and which I reported at the start. And all the time I was thinking “hopefully in the next patch”, they were actually working on a new gear tier. I feel like I’m putting more work into bugs than they are.

There is way to many stealth nerfs and not enough talking to the players.

…so they can boost the gem shop sales by cutting off loot and gold farming… It’s called oppression!!!.

I feel like this has been slowly happening since the start of the game. Perhaps that was the plan all along, to make us feel like things were doable and realistic, so we’d get into it, while nerfing gradually beneath our notice until we get addicted and desperate so we pay for gems. Feels really wrong to me.

I have also noticed the forge giving me far fewer successes than before Lost Shores. This claimed 1 in 5 ratio is not in effect anymore. And I had salvaged 5 lv 70s rares with Mystic kit and gotten 1 ecto total.

I’m just not participating in many areas of the game anymore until this is fixed. But I don’t think it will be fixed, which means I am being edged out of the game.

I don’t know why you all still want Anet to officially respond to this. You know they won’t totally switch the direction they’re going. You know they stealth nerf things. If they say anything, it will be to appease you but with an underlying nerf that causes us to be no better off. ie “we’ve made it so every champion drops something”, without mentioning that chest drop rates were lowered to compensate.

I normally never participate in PvP. The thought of fighting another player gives me anxiety and feels hostile, as opposed to killing zombies that dont’ make me feel awkward about killing them. But WvW isn’t too bad after the initial shock. Sometimes I will fight someone and win or lose, I will think “that was a good duel!” And I’m never thinking “I’m going to make this kitten pay for trying to fight me >:(”. I’m thinking “health bar drop drop drop come on go down so I don’t have to respawn!”. It’s never personal (with me at least). PvP is a little more competitive though. Not everyone in PvP will be trying to conquer and shame other players but some definitely will.

With WvW, you can do more peaceful activities, like giving the dolyak swiftness and carrying supplies from camps to places where they are requested. And if you encounter enemies, you can often run away (swiftness + stun breakers or stealth or teleport or laying down a cripple/stun field).

If I see a WvW map that is totally our team’s colour, I will go in and grab all of the exploration points, since there won’t be any opposition. It’s a rare opportunity so if you see it, go for it! It’s pretty much the same as PvE exploration if there are no enemies.

I wouldn’t have a problem with separating the monthly, if they didn’t add more requirements. Like if they just make the WvW monthly “Kill 50 invaders”, and gave 1/4 of the monthly reward to that, i’d be fine with that. But I know they’d add other things that I hate doing to fill out the PvE and the WvW achieves, like that kitten survivor one we used to have. Not fair being the squishiest class and trying to survive that long!

Oh, 1 more thing. I think the NPCs count in your monthly kill amount, so if they don’t change it, you could go to camps or towers and just kill the NPC guards there to get your monthly without harming another player. I haven’t tested that but I think it’s true.

For bare-minimun, unrealistic 24 hour coverage you need 3 people minimum. Let’s be stingy and say 1 GM per server. There are 52 servers right now. 52 * 3 = 156

That’s 156 new employees for each GM on a server. Let’s be horrible greedy corporate types and say they all made $10 an hour. $80 a day. 156 * 80 =

$12,480 per day.

How about giving the GM free server transfers. 2 GMs during the busiest parts of the day will make a heck of a lot of difference. A wait for help is better than the current S.O.L. situation people are in now.

I didn’t like how they denied that the manifesto wasn’t totally betrayed. It just made me angrier at the company.
Thumbs down also to saying that just because the inserted tier is 5-11% (it’s over 11%) stronger and gradual that it’s not a gear treadmill. Just call a spade a spade.

The questions I wanted to hear about that weren’t answered were: Why have the loot drops decreased in high level zones, and from vets/champs, and was this intentional? and When will the elementalist bugs be fixed. I want existing problems to be fixed before we create new content (with its accompanying fixes). The way I see it, so much of what is still bugged should have been ready before launching the game, and now they’re biting more and more off that they can’t chew.

The questions that were answered were mostly about ascended, and we all knew what the responses would be anyway.

Also, you can go to the mists to use the Mystic Forge anywhere, and then clcik the same button to return to the exact spot you were. So, all amenities can be gotten without a waypoint fee, BUT your food gets removed when entering PvP, and any stacks from sigils are removed, as is lifetime survivor if you’re going for that.

Keep in mind also that the monthly achievement isn’t required, and the reward isn’t all that great unless you’re aiming to get a legendary one day.

If they made a WvW achievement separate, they wouldn’t just have the 1 bar to fill up, they’d add more bars, and probably another to PvE. So for me it would be more work to get it. What is it about having a progress bar that compels me to fill it up?

I don’t know, I think of achievements as ways to encourage players to try out parts of the game they are reluctant to. You don’t need to do much wvw to get that. Just run with the zerg and try to tag as many targets as possible.

I think they’re trying to get people to do more tournaments with the PvP monthly achievement because it’s not very popular. And I’ve found it really unfun. Much harder work than any other achievement in daily or monthly, especially considering if it is meant to bring people in to tournaments, those are the people who are least likely to win.

Splitting up the achievs would be good in that you don’t need to do stuff you don’t like, but it also would get fewer people trying wvw and pvp. And the rewards I’m sure would be worse.
