Berserker's Stance proposal

in Warrior

CoaxialMazer.9140

Should make Berserker stance like the frenzy stance abominations has… every attack increases your attack animation until the buff runs out. No need for the adrenal gain + makes it more of a dps stance rather than burst enhancing stance. Stances do need a look over imo for warriors, along with our physical abilities. Feel like if they moved the physical training trait into tier 2 rather than tier 3 in strength tree, i feel it would help improve the utility of those skills and not dive so far to get their cooldowns. There are only a few traits for each of our Utilites.

Shouts:

  • Vigorous shouts
  • lung capacity
  • insipiring shouts

Physical:

  • Physical Training
  • distracting strikes (just synergize, not a direct effect on them)

Banners:

  • Powerful banners (sucks….)
  • inspiring battle standard
  • inspiring banners

Stances:

  • sure footed
  • vigorous focus

Thats pretty much it =\
I wish they had more traits, + better synergy with weapons, because if you trait for utilities, you normally lose out on weapon bonuses or dmg or defense. Rather hard to find a build that covers all that you want, and make it a viable build

My version of Boon builds. Broad idea. Boon duration is good, but against an enemy with boon removal…. well…. yea…
and runes of lyssa is 5 seconds in pve (unless someone lied to me and told me there was no stealth changes), so even with 90% boon duration (30 traits/40 armor/ 20 food) its a max of 9.5 seconds (albeit not too bad). Generally aegis gets dropped fast, so i never consider that a factor for empowered.
Lyssa has a slight delay after you activate SOR and is easily interrupted. If you use lyssa’s condition removal aspect, generally you lose out on some time with all the boons (it has bad self synergy, but strong aspects in defense and offense, generally not both). You only gain 10 second of a random boon from lyssa(4). Over all, lyssa runes are strong, but i personally dislike how there is a delay from using SOR and the boons from appearing.

IMO, a build without balance stance, will not survive an encounter (warrior need stability and stun breakers to stay in melee distance, regardless to how you build your character) for too long.

This is why your WARRIOR isn't good. Part 1.

My Biggest Issues with warriors:

  • gap closers bugged
  • no boon removal abilities against enemies (Only a sigil)
  • no access to protection (Only runes)
  • Dps gains drop super drastically with defense gains and vice versa (its supposed to happen, but with a class with no innate tankiness or sufficient condition removal its problematic)
  • Weapon skills are repeats of each other or offer no unique abilities to help mitigate dmg besides sheild(5), parry/mace block and some stuns.
  • Weak trait synergy and weak minor traits in certain trees.
  • Burst skill mechanic is not even worth using in more than 90% of the scenarios.
  • No real bunker build available
  • Forced to use GS for mobility, or sword/x

If you wan more dps and are cheap/poor, ruby orbs. If you want overall goodness, lyssa ruins are great. Want massive might stack, get some might duration increase. If you want some defensive condition removal and use shouts, get soldier runes. Personally i like to experiment with lots of things, thinking of how to make forge runes work (i want protection) has been a slight challenge.

PvE, warriors are very strong. In WvW, they are strong. In PvP, looks into another class. Otherwise, warriors are okay besides the still minor bug fixes for some skills, and need tweaking in terms of traits + cooldowns on utilities.

Give warrior that boon, and ill trade you 8k hp. Fair deal? i dont even want the aegis. Just give me protection. Forget even the passive regen.

PvP for me is like a testing ground to see how much each build i try fails faster or slower (regardless if its a common one like GS-axe/shield zerk, or Shout bunker builds to totally weird builds that really wouldn’t work anyways)

I do consider myself decent at PvP enough to say its not a L2P issue and say that warrior design is lacking in alot of places (bugs/traits/lack of build viability/poor special ability system [adrenaline]). Albeit i love my warrior, and will never play another class (i played them all and tried numerous things on them only to make me feel more depressed about my warrior, only engineer was somewhat close to feeling as unrefined) because i love the warrior concepts from every mmo i ever played. I will struggle forever to make my warrior capable of really making a serious difference in PvP.

Condition Duration Theory (Discussion)

in Warrior

Posted by: CoaxialMazer.9140

CoaxialMazer.9140

Hi my name is CoaxialMazer and i love to make guides that are really not your standard style of play. I enjoy finding ways to make warrior builds work in unique ways and things that seem not obvious at first. I have had a significant amount of experience playing warriors (2 lvl 80s with different specs and playing since launch). I really enjoy seeing the extremes of every build + design in seeing what are ways i can make things work even though they don’t look like they would. I do not have any builds

Theory
So the idea behind condition duration came to me when i realized how poor warriors are with condition removal. I experimented with shout specs(soldier runes)/using signet of stamina/mending/warhorn and i was amazed how much i lose in terms of dps and utilities by having to do that =\. Of course every builds has its pros/cons and trade offs, but i wanted to see how effective i could work with condition duration (both applying and removing via duration). Interestingly enough, warriors are perma stomped by other classes who can abuse chill/cripple/immobilize on us, and we don’t have a signet or trait that removes conditions (every 10 sec or passively) besides shrug it off, which was on a 30sec internal cooldown (ouch!).

I loved being an extremist (like my boon duration build or adrenaline build) and i wanted to see how much condition duration i could stack, or how much i can make condition duration be reduced. And so i began to research and test things. My results were beyond interesting.

Analysis
Max possible condition duration:

  • 30 strength tree = 30%
  • 2 weapons with givers stats = 20% (when they begin to work, currently bugged and not giving condition duration, but a word from anet has stated they are tracking the bug and working to fix it. Source)
  • 2 superior runes of lyssa/lich = 20% (can be 27 with 2 major runes of either, but i think 4 runes of lyssa is better, or using another pair of runes to give you another bonus instead)
  • Rare Veggie Pizza = 40%

Total of 110% Condition duration (90% currently)

This was amazing in my eyes. I never knew that we could even get that much condition duration, the uses where awesome in my eyes. Hammer shock with 2 second aoe immobilize?, flurry with 8 second immobilize + bolas throw for another 8 seconds? Hamstring cripple for 14s? 6 second fear? Perma weakness everything? (i know perma weakness is easy even without condition duration, but it was a funny concept). You almost could cycle a perma immobilize with flurry/bolas throw/Pin down/hamstring. Deep cuts + 110% would = 160% bleed duration (can get more with other runes). Regardless, i just thought it was an interesting topic to look at, now lets check condition duration reduction.

Max possible condition duration reduction:

  • 6 piece superior runes of melandru = 25% (both condition and stun durations)
  • Bowl of Lemongrass Poultry Soup = 40% condition duration
    or
  • Bowl of Roasted Lotus Root = 40 % stun duration (rather choose condition, as heavy cc is little less of a problem for warriors since stun breakers are not too hard to get = balance stance/endure pain/frenzy/shake it off)

Total of = 65% condition duration reduction

Now that made me pretty happy to have looked into this idea of condition duration. Effectively making conditions more than halve the time they tick or stay on you may make warriors more tankier than i could have thought. I personally haven’t tried this idea for reduction condition duration so i don’t have any idea how it would work in terms of increased survivability.

Conclusion
I don’t know of any real way to maximize these kind of advantages besides 6 seconds of fear (sounded like way too much fun to abuse) and the long immobilize. The condition duration reduction was also interesting to look at, but i don’t know what other use it could be on certain builds besides a bunker or P/V/T build. Either way, i just thought sharing some info with fellow warriors who might find something interesting in this topic. I figured combining boon duration with condition duration would be interesting (i know other classes do it better) but i figured it was fun idea to think about. Please share any knowledge of this as you can.

Survey: Boon Duration

I fell in love with boon duration a long time ago when i was still pursuing the need for condition warrior to work, and it was the only way i could do it (1750+ condition damage). Of course boon duration has ridiculous amounts of bonuses, but i felt it wasn’t able to duel against other classes/builds that well and the lack of pure direct burst dps was far better at applying damage. About a month ago i changed to make a Dueling type warrior that changed my view on how to play warriors and no longer use boon duration, albeit i miss all the juicy bonuses from it, i don’t ever regret trying to use boon duration as a basis for any build. Even made a guide for it and explain how you can almost use it with any weapon/build you could want.

sword-shield/GS + bulls charge is 5 gap closers to stick to target + swiftness from signet of rage. Signet of stamina + Whirlwind + mobile strikes + shield block + fast hands makes you dance around your opponent and avoid alot of dmg + dealing some in the process. Reckless dodge is an offensive trait that helps with dps if you dodge an attack and know how to end your dodge near your enemy (dmg is approximately equivalent to an auto attack from GS sword, which can crit 2k+). Overall thats how i play now no matter where (PvP/WvW/PvE). Its far too much fun, high dps, i die less than most people who go super tanky anyways, and understanding when to stop attacking/using a dodge instead is important. Hundred blades for me is just dps when i know i can get a couple of free hits on a guy whos stunned/downed or knockdown by bullscharge. I almost always interrupt it when i notice the enemy no longer is disabled or can start moving (usually whirlwind works great at canceling hundredblades + its a dodge which is likely useful at the moment your target gets up + switch to sword-shield to jump right back to the enemy with savage leap).

I find Sword/sword actaully can do some pretty brutal spike damage with rip (up to a good 7k crit no problem)+auto attack chain(2-3k first two attack crits, with about 4-4.5k crit average on final thrust) using this build.
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mcRkmM9cMFwGmMFwGmpp9MGVscRoa

Thats a rather glass build requiring full zerk gear, and you will be mobile to be able to mitigate plenty of damage with dodge + GS whirlwind.

A slightly more tankier approach is my current build.
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mcRkmM9cMFwGmMFwGmG0G0xVsMRoVa
The stability stance is great for those oops moments, + extra defense is also very useful.

As for the banner build, i wouldnt suggest it, but if i had to run it, it would be like so
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mcRkVM9cMFTGmMFwGma0GxaVMRVsqV

I heard fast hands was glitching with flag dropping/picking up and causing a cooldown to drop flag/pick up, hence dont go 15 into discipline, but if itsnt, than switch 5 from defense tree to discipline for fast hands trait. Sword/warhorn+GS give mobility/condiiton removal + boons. Your banner can heal + adrenal health from never using adrenaline, can help tremendously for survivability. Frenzy is for the burst, but if you don’t mind losing the burst affect, than for great justice works amazing with 30% boon duration.

Just some ideas you can look at, that might fit what you want. I don’t suggest the banner build too much because it sounds weird on paper, but if it works out for you, im glad.

I can't decide! MH sword or axe?

in Warrior

Posted by: CoaxialMazer.9140

CoaxialMazer.9140

Imo sword could actually beat axe in dps, simply cause its easier to keep on your target (assuming PvP/WvW) with savage leap + hamstring + flurry (which combos well with hundred blades, or any other hard to land skill). Of course axe does more dmg per second on any target, but for some reason, sword feels so right. Mobility feels like the most important thing for warriors in general. If we get kited, doesn’t matter if axe does more dps than sword, if the player is standing still, than more or less your gonna kill the target with axe or sword. IMO i choose sword over axe for many reasons, but axe definitely is a strong mainhand weapon for pure dmg.

But I love shield for its subtle affects for some reason. I love shield bashes short gap closing stun, I love the extra 90 toughness (its small but i like it), and with 20% cooldown you get interrupting skill with 1.0 skill ratio coeffecient and is a smooth animation with a 3 sec invuln to physicals every 24 seconds. Its got good dueling and zerg uses. I did wish the cooldowns, were a tad shorter, or a slight increase in the gap closed by shield bash, but i love the use of that offhand.

CoaxialMazer.9140

Hmm I am not the best at explaining alot of stuff very quickly, but i can give you a quick run down. Every item you equip can be socketed.

Runes are special socketables just for armor that have special abilities when you use the same one on the armors that u equip. Orbs are just socketable pieces with just stats that benefit something you want to gain (usually stat wise).

Knight gear is (power/toughness/precision gear).

GS and rifle is a good PvE used weapon combination and an ideal dps build for you would look like so (when you hit 80)

20/30/0/0/20
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mcRM0o0zMmCRGmmC0GmGx9MGVscakoV

That would give you the most DPS for your weapon set. Armor + some toughness will help you survive and learning your weapon set and learning to dodge will help you survive.

I feel the game doesn’t explain everything off the bat quickly, but by the time you hit 80, im sure you will learn alot in the game. Just keep playing and watching out for new things.

Some warrior questions (PVE)

1. Traits vary based on weapon, but almost all warriors try to get berserkers power (10 int strength)(12% damage at max adrenaline) at the very minimum. Explain what weapons you want to use, and what kind of dps do you want to prioritize (aoe/single target/ranged/condition/ high burst/ sustain) so i can better help with a foundation trait for you, that you can change to your liking.

2. Since you just started recently, You should be looking at power/precision/crit dmg and some toughness. I suggest get Knight armor gears, and berserker trinkets/rubysockets. The sockets in your armor are up to you, if you feel tanky enough and die less with the stats you currently have, than put on some dps runes or the cheap way is ruby orbs for damage. After you get good with dodging/timing/positioning you can grab all berserk armor + heavy dps runes/ruby orbs. That will maximize your dps. The reason for toughness when you start playing warrior, is because most people don’t know how mobile you need to be in order to play warrior, and toughness helps you with the learning curve of warriors.

3. Dodge is your best friend, stick close to team mates, learn the bosses moves and what set ups do they do before they activate their attack so that you can time your dodge/block/etc. When you can, usually resurrecting someone is better than your dps alone, so always try to help someone up is a priority. Always carry a ranged weapon, you never know when you need it, and in Fractal dungeon…. well lets say i use my rifle way more than i use it anywhere else.

4. Just have fun, warriors are one of the easier classes in PvE.

well with out any contribution into power, u get about 45 extra vit which is 450 health and far better off getting restorative strength or death from above. Restorative strength will help keep you from moving slow or death from above is great in wvw where u can cause stomps on enemy smashing gates to slow them down or save someone below where you are located. See what works for you, i forgot you arent running P/V/T gear, meaning that great fortitude will not give u much benefits unless you had over 2k power, meaning 1k+ health gain (not alot, but still not bad)

Warriors sprint only gives 10% movement speed, while swiftness gives 33%, with 30% boon duration and swiftness from warhorn, you lose the effectiveness of 10% movement speed 13 seconds out of every 20seconds since they don’t stack. I suggest 10 points into power for more health or berserkers power, so that you have some dps even with heavily defensive traits. Using sword for both mainhands isn’t the best since, the cooldown on skills don’t reset if you swap between weapons (its up to you, i just wouldnt do it myself) my suggest is mace for the extra block and possible need for stun to stop an enemy from killing a friend/ally. This seems like a tanky healer support build. I can’t comment much on how effective your build will be, but it seems fine enough to do what you want.

Greatsword vs Dual Axes in WvW?

in Warrior

Posted by: CoaxialMazer.9140

CoaxialMazer.9140

Theoretically its a very close split between the two. For example, Axe/Warhorn has very good close proximity ability to tackle a target with swiftness/eviscerate/cripple/removing slows. Or Axe/Shield with shield block can negate substantial dmg+potential cripples/chills/immobilizes and shield bash+eviscerate and cripple can also battle well in close proximity. While GS offers a slightly larger range of combat, but also costs us all the benefits of the Axe + its offhand. Generally speaking, I say Axe and GS have their places in terms of whats better in certain scenarios.

Since Warriors are superior weapon swappers, most builds consist of axe-(offhand)/GS and constant swapping between the two offers the most dps possible in small/medium range distance combat.

I prefer Sword-Shield/GS in terms of Mobility/DPS as i like the ability to stick to targets longer and for a much longer duration, which is my theory in terms of dps.
Also it allows me to close gaps in far range engagements much easier+faster, which also means that i get more face time =D

Axe/Axe and GS Warrior

CoaxialMazer.9140

Well, There are lots of versatility in many classes, But some could argue either class is more fun. I honestly think warrior has a strange learning curve (starts off easy and plateaus for most people for a long time, and then has a tremendous large steep at the end) While guardians learning curve starts off with a slightly higher learning curve and stays level and steady most of the way. Build wise, i see slightly more options in the guardian department in terms of utility/support/tank, while with warriors, we see a much larger variety of dmg based specs with a few support based warriors hanging around.

To be honest, I think there needs to be more weapons for all classes, even if warriors get to choose from the most combinations, most would argue that even that isn’t enough because of the lack of builds that can be made currently with warriors to a viable level. Either way, both classes are unique to their class views, but i feel warriors are a slight bit lacking in the flashy department =P

advantage of Axe(mainhand) over GS

Axe

  • Better dps overall on auto attack versus hundred blades
  • Allows use of a second weapon (shield/warhorn/mace/axe/(sword – not worth)) and another sigil on offhand
  • Burst skill is actually very strong “surprise burst dmg”

GS

  • Best mobility + has whirlwind dodge
  • Whirlwind technically has a higher dps than auto attack of axe regarding single target dps (if whirlwind is done on a wall, etc.)
  • both have long range cripples, but GS is harder to land persay (opinion here)
  • Never use burst skill, since berserkers power + heightened focus benefit more throughout than to use the burst skill.

CoaxialMazer.9140

Exactly My reason why i think burst skills are kinda’ bizzare in nature because i feel they offer something that normally most warriors don’t want to lose (Dps) for something more utility wise. Other than a few notable burst skills, like flurry for immobilize/longbow for the field + burn/etc., It feels like burst skills (with their lovely 10 second cd, 8 if traited) do not offer dps for the price of using it and instead offer a utility. Sadly, I don’t feel burst skills give that “burst feel”, other than killshot/flurry/eviscerate. But two of those are for dps which can easily be outweighed by their other skills, and flurry is the only skill i ever look as a notable burst skill with potential utility wise, definitely not for its dmg (Due note that 3 targets hit by flurry, is pretty decent dmg spread amongst 3 targets + immob, but it does stick u in HB mode where you can’t move, and its easy to stop the animation)

Adrenaline Guide
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Max-Adrenaline-Abuse-Universal-Guide/first#post1247852

Please read my guide on Adrenaline build >.<

I feel like I explained a lot of reasons why I would rather keep adrenaline full more often than to use the burst skills.

Rifle

  • Killshot —> 2.05 ratio at max adrenaline with a 1.75 second charge up time which actually is about 2 seconds since animation is weird depending on class. (stationary)
(about 1.025-1.171 DPS ratio) (Good for those rare surprise kills)
  • Volley —> .60 × 5 attack ratio with 2.5 second load out time, without being stuck stationary. (1.2 DPS ratio) Better ratio + not stuck using it, and if opponent dodges, your still bound to do some damage + keep all adrenaline to keep adrenaline benefits longer. (better dps and sustain dmg overall)

Axe

  • Eviscerate —> 2.18 ratio at max adrenaline (ignores weapon power while rifle doesn’t, which is why people can get over 15K killshots and not eviscerate.) Dps time varies based on distance (short distance is faster animation but longer distance can take up to 1-1.5 seconds), but animation is easy to avoid + aegis/blind/dodge effectively make this skill harder to land + Single target. (Only very good perk is the leap, which is also a small give away for using eviscerate)
  • Chop/Double Chop/Triple Chop —> 0.75/.08/.85 = 2.4 ratio and time to complete full chain is about 2-2.25 seconds but can hit up to 3 targets. Another point is the chop/double chop ratio has very high dps (1.55 ratio in .75 seconds = 2.067 dps ratio) which is easy to accomplish a cut off with axe skill #2. Over all a better dps skill + no lose in adrenaline and hits more than one target.

GS
yea… not even gonna say

Sword

  • Flurry —> Bleed dmg is actually rather low even when speced full condition (i had a condition warrior which had about 1750+ condition dmg with 11+ stacks of might, and had about 60% bleed duration to equate to about 5k dmg over 3.5-4 seconds) and thats with about 12-13 stacks of bleed from flurry, which is good against high toughness targets but would normally get cleansed immediatly after i finished my flurry which resulted in less dps. The flat dmg ratio is .76 over (about 1.5-2 seconds) which is almost negligible. The great part for it is the 4 second immobilize which can hit up to 3 targets at close proximity.
  • Sword autoattack —> 1.5-1.75 seconds for the full 3 attacks. added ratio of all 3 attacks is 2.5 which is about 1.429-1.667 dps ratio + the 2 stacks of bleeds. Far higher numbers can be achieved dps wise, but the utility of flurry is notable especially in connection with hundredblades.

Hammer

  • Earthshaker is great stun with a decent .66 ratio that can hit up to 5 targets. Dps wise its far less usefull than its autoattack or its fierce blow. Even Hammer shock with its .7 ratio and massive range+ get leg specialist for a similar effect to earthshaker as a 1 second immobilize. Only really amazing part to the ability is the leap+stun which sadly the stun doesnt last long enough to get more than 1 attack off for the extra 25% dps increase when traited, and even then its lost 12% from berserkers power.

Mace

  • Skull crack —> .73 ratio with a half second cast about is pretty decent skill for dps + the stun.
  • mace autoattack —> 3.2 total ratio with a 2 second cast time = 1.6 dps ratio
    and applies weakness

Longbow

  • Conbustive Shot —> Great burning + huge field for 9 seconds at max adrenaline. Imo its one of the better burst skills, even though its use isn’t really burst rather than large aoe condition + field generation for field combos.
  • Arcing Arrow supplies a great dps over all with berserkers power and crit builds with a nice 1.45 skill ratio of only .75 second cast time = 1.933 dps ratio

This was my reasoning to use burst skills less. Don’t get me wrong, most burst skills are great in a way, but i feel that our basic attacks and other skills outway the benefits of losing adrenaline from pure dps perspective. Utility wise, I agree that some skills like skull crack and flurry for example, are great in that aspect. Either way, i have my adrenaline bar full most of the time, and hardly ever use burst skills. As warriors being able to swap weapons so frequently (fast hands)[I find it far more efficient dps wise and health wise (adrenal regen + healing surge)] that it makes more sense for me to use both my weapon sets consistently rather than use a burst skill and gimp my dps/hp regen while im on lower adrenaline. Of course adrenaline gain is easy to obtain, but most of the time, I never had to say “Crap, shoulda used that burst skill, coulda won there”.

Axe/Axe and GS Warrior

I had a friend go From lvl 80 warrior to Guardian, and well….. he never came back =P.
Warrior has superior Dps/Mobility is what we both agree on, but Guardians get all the juicy utility/buffs/heals. Guardians are more viable and wanted in more scenarios, and Guardians can Dish out almost as good dps as a warrior, without losing that much tankiness compared to warrior. Over all though, if you love Hitting stuff hard and lots all day (with not so flashy skills) than warrior is great. Other wise Guardians do what most warriors try to do [to be different] (heal/tank/support) Better.

Axe/Axe is fine in PvE, and GS covers up the missing Mobility, but there isn’t any cc in that combination at all. If your ok with that, than yes PvE wise its a fine build (always carry a rifle/bow for range dps in fractals/dungeons).

I say you could use both equally, and find what really suits your taste, or what you feel like doing at the moment. Like maybe you want to face tank everything, guardian>warrior. Or you want to just go crazy and jump around while dealing Great dmg, warrior>Guardian. Over all its preference.

Is 5 Signets terribad? Discuss.

Best signets are Stamina/Rage, Wouldn’t use any other except healing signet if i went for a regen build, but even then, i argue that at lvl 70+ signets fall significantly.

It originally did pre patch 12/14/12. Block from mace (2) and sword (5) also would reflect projectiles too, now only shield does.

Best Overall WvW Weapon Setup?

CoaxialMazer.9140

Hmm i would argue sword-mace/Longbow or rifle would better suit what you want since you want all 4. You get some cc from flurry + tremor and rifle butt or immobo arrow, mobility from sword and swiftness from signet of rage + get bull rush for extra rushing attack to close target distance, you get the ranged weapon + tremor is actually quite far for an attack even though its easy to dodge, and depending on whether you want good single target dps vs multi would depend on rifle/bow since sword-mace gives great single target dps and multi at close range.

I guess another choice could be sword-sheild/ranged weapon of choice, perhaps a bit less aoe CC, but shield can get you through a tough spot in wvw more often than i give it credit for. I guess its up to you =P

Was hoping to find a way to alter the voice to say something else or mute it >.<
Got no idea how to alter the sound file to say something else, or play a different file/mute it. If anyone knows how to do this, please make an instruction, you will make everyone <3 you forever =D

Energy for the endurance gain. Usually stacks well with vigor for more dodge, if ur trying to get away, multiple dodges is best.

Lf> Warrior builds that aren't GS & A/S

CoaxialMazer.9140

Well This isn’t a Build that anyone would agree to be viable, but take it for some games in sPvP and you will have a blast =D.

(Hammer/Sword-Shield)
30/0/20/0/20
Physical Training/Distracting Strikes/Berserkers Power
Turtle Defense/Last stand
Signet Mastery/Mobile Strikes

Mending/Kick/bullrush/stomp/Signet of rage
Berserker amulet+jewel and full divinity Runes

Its probably some of the most fun i ever had playing as a warrior. Its most likely not tPvP viable, but in sPvP its perhaps the most fun i ever had. Give it a try =)

CoaxialMazer.9140

Sword Probably ur best best for mainhand for the mobility/cripple. Yes best possible dps combination is power/pre/crit dmg. In wvw normall ur against 5+ poeple on enemy side, generally fire sigil/air sigils are ur best bet for burst dmg, Force is decent, bloodlust is good for stacking power. Up to you honestly =P

Dual-Axe Need to Weapon Swap?

in Warrior

CoaxialMazer.9140

I totally agree with your statement, And i stand corrected. I still personally believe that warriors are generally made to swap between two different weapon sets in melee combat for good reasons, assuming you speced appropriatly. Other wise, i understand how speccing all for GS and having sword in mainhand offset is not gonna dish as good DPS.

Help with WvW/PvE build

CoaxialMazer.9140

Sword Imo is the best mainhand for mobility/chasing and does good dps. The burst ability actually is usefull for the immobilize which chains into Hundredblade well if u use GS. Axe is great dps but lacks mobility. Its burst skill does heavy single target dps, but its up to your preference what you like. I personally love sword>axe simply for the low cooldown leap, and autoattack is smooth and does good dps, and the cripple is really quick and does decent dmg. Axe is great for dps too though, so its up to you. I always carry a rifle for ranged scenarios, and warhorn is good too for long runs and you need more swiftness.

Dual-Axe Need to Weapon Swap?

CoaxialMazer.9140

Well i Think Engineers don’t swap weapons often, and elementalist use only 1 weapon set but get like 4 attunements which is like 4x worse =P unless your really good at it (Bunker ele d/d = godly). Warrior using Rifle/GS dont constantly switch, rifle for range and GS for close combat. You can pick up a ranged weapon as your offhand to engange at range and when you get in peoples faces, you use axe-axe. Up to you honestly. I personally believe that quick swapping of weapons and useing their cooldowns is warriors specialty, but you can definitely play with only 1 set and still be succesful (assuming your second set would be ranged/for utility purposes like sword/warhorn for mobility.)

CoaxialMazer.9140

As a warrior, I believe no matter your set, you will almost always need to swap weapons. Its what warriors excel at (strangely enough, we only get like 3 traits that specialize in that). I think Axe-Axe works well with Sword-(shield/warhorn/mace) for mobility or utility when axe skills are on cooldown. Even a GS might go well with Axe-Axe. Its really up to you, but again, as a warrior, you should try to maximize your cooldowns on both weapons, (most of the times).
